Hanh's POV

We walked into one of the rooms that was connected to the penthouse lounge room. It had the basic setup like most modern penthouse suites had, however, it did have a very nice view of Tokyo. It was definitely bigger than I thought it would be, like the main room had some red couches with a coffee table in the center. By the large window, there was also a smaller and taller table with 2 chairs. The bright lights of Tokyo made me a little bitter about how I was trapped in this mess instead of enjoying what Japan had to offer. Soryu still didn't say a word when I walked in. He sat on the couch and gestured to one of the couches for me to sit on.

"Take a seat, Kira," he said as he looked at me with a suspicious gaze. I sat down carefully, but he still didn't say a thing. The silence was thick, and I could feel my heart racing. Finally, after what feels like an eternity, he spoke, "I am going to take a shower. Don't try anything funny, or you'll regret it."

He turned around and disappeared into the bathroom, leaving me alone to stare outside the window at the city's twinkling lights. The sound of running water filled the room, giving me a moment to collect my thoughts. I reached into my pocket out of habit feeling the outline of my small notepad and pen. I decided to do a mini journaling of my feelings to calm the rest of my nerves. I was also feeling the urge to capture the beauty of the city through writing as well. The calmness of the night against my own restless feelings can be an inspiration for later. I began to scribble down a few words and phrases to encapsulate everything that I was feeling and what I was inspired by. I didn't notice the water had stopped, and the door just shut. Soryu walked out with just a towel around his waist, his muscles glistening with water droplets. I snapped my notebook shut, which properly wasn't a smart move, but I do get shy when I write, ironically for an author.

He sat down on a chair opposite to me, still silent and gaze unwavering.

"What's your real name?" he asked, his voice still carrying the same edge it had when he first saw us.I swallowed hard, trying to keep my cool. "Kira is my name for now. What's important is that you know I'm not going to be a problem for you, Mr. Oh," I replied, keeping my tone calm and composed.

Soryu leaned forward, his towels loosening slightly, making me squirm. "I have a feeling that you are going to be more than just a problem, Kira-if that is your real name. But let's get this straight, you are here because someone paid a hefty sum. It is not for your mouth, so unless you want to add to your debt, I suggest you keep it shut unless spoken to. Say the wrong things to the wrong people, and your family and friends will be paying the price." His words were cold and sharp, matching the coldness in his eyes.

As if he knew that I was in an awkward position, Baba bursts into the room followed by Eisuke.

"Oh ho, what do we have here? Soryu are you already seducing her? You were playing it like you were annoyed, but you secretly like her?" he asked with his eyes twinkling mischievously. Seducing? I can't imagine this guy seducing any girl. He looks like he hasn't smiled in a year, and his aura was more intimidating than seductive. Even if he was super attractive, he looked like a permanent scowl was etched into his face. I feel sorry for the girl that he ends up trying to seduce.

"Oh, I get it now, she's about to be punished," Eisuke said.

"I see, you were always acting like you don't care about women, but you really are a closet pervert, aren't you, Sor?" Baba went. I was still watching this interaction, a little grateful that they were a distraction to the silence that Soryu had left us in. Soryu didn't agree to my opinion, because he had reached behind him and pulled out a gun.

"H-hey, enough of those mobster jokes! We, normal folk, don't find it funny!" Baba shouted.

"I was just thinking about what would happen if I pulled the trigger. Unlike you, this woman is smart. She didn't try any funny business, but you really should be checking on the other woman." As soon as those words left his mouth, Mamoru and Ota bursted into the room.

"That woman locked me out of my bedroom!" Mamoru shouted. At this point, I really just wanted to get to bed and pray that this was all some dream.

Soryu turned to me, "What the hell is she doing? And why are you two here? This is already giving me one hell of a headache."

"Well," I started, thinking over each word carefully, "She's a unique girl. Her mind …well, she's quite creative. I think I saw one of the guys' eyebrows raised.

"Is she sick? Mentally insane?" Eisuke asked.

"No, she's just a rare breed," I replied as I started to fidget with my own nails.

"Funny, she said something similar to that," Mamoru muttered.

"Awww, now I definitely want her. I wonder why she didn't pick me," Baba said.

"Well, I don't know what the reason is, but you can have her," Mamoru quickly replied.

"No fair! I want her, Mamoru!" Ota jumped in almost whining.

Mamoru just shrugged while his irritation wasn't diminished.

"Can that just happen? Can he just give her to another person?" I whispered to Soryu.

"Who knows, this is the first time there was even a person sold so I wouldn't know," he replied, annoyed himself. I sighed, honestly, it was exhausting trying to think of ways to get myself out of this situation, and on top of that, trying to do any damage control for Ainsley. I don't know what her mission is, and at this point, I am not sure if I want a piece of it, because to me, it looks like she is trying to get herself killed.

I rubbed my own tired eyes wanting to at least get some rest.

"Woman, you can go use the shower if you want. I will get some of the maids to get some spare clothes for you, and you can sleep in the bedroom next to the shower," Soryu said to me. I muttered my thanks and did exactly that. I couldn't complain, since I could finally wash away the grime and mess of today. When I came out of the shower, I found a neatly folded set of clothes on a chair, a black T-shirt and some gray sweatpants. As I was getting settled to go to bed, I could hear the voices of the men discussing something in Japanese, and once in a while Ainsley's name would pop up. My Japanese wasn't the best, but I could make out what they were focusing on.

"She's going to be trouble," I heard Soryu say, his voice cutting through the rest. "I want to know everything about her, Mamoru. Why she is here, what is her mission, and who ordered it. I also want information on her friend, Kira. She's also hiding something, and I do not like surprises."

"This is so exhausting. How about we ship her back to the US?" Mamoru complained.

"So you're going to eat that 20 million that we just spent?" Eisuke replied.

"Kira can take care of it in other ways," Ota said.

"Unless, Kira is also a cop," Soryu clarified.

The thought of me being stuck with them made me feel sick on top of all the exhaustion. And I just ended up with a bigger headache since I didn't know where my phone was to deal with the situation or let Ainsley know. I also didn't know what would set Soryu off, because technically he was the one that I picked that I had to pay back. I racked my brain for some answers, because honestly, I was not going to get some sleep with all these thoughts in my head. And Ainsley locking that other guy out of his bedroom definitely was not helping our situation. Nothing she was doing was helping, and only aided in me regretting my decision to come with her. Sitting here with these thoughts was also not helping, and before I knew it, I was pacing back and forth in the bedroom. The plush carpet was tickling my feet eventually. This is so out of character for a mobster to have some fuzzy carpet. I then took a look at the bed and decor in the room. Very modern. Very minimalistic. The very basic outlook of a hotel suite, and it had matched the vibe of the mobster using exactly what he needed, nothing more and nothing less.

I sighed again. This thinking wasn't really going to help me, and the key-size bed with the fluffy pillows was calling my name. I took a deep breath and made the decision to get some rest to clear my mind. It was clear that I wasn't going to solve anything, and anything I came up with would most likely be ruined by Ainsley. I said some prayers for myself to have some peace, before I turned off the lights and shut my eyes, praying again that tomorrow at least would be better if this wasn't some horrible dream.
