Hello everyone! I'm back with another new story (I'll probably regret starting another one while currently working on two LOL). So, I finished the last version of this story back in 2022. At least with the first 3 chapters, I'm not too happy with it. So, I'm remaking the story. Some chapters will be pretty similar to the old version while others will be different. I'm also thinking about adding one or more pairings. Not sure yet. This is the third time I'm remaking it and hopefully it'll be the last lol. Now, I'm writing this first chapter the day before Valentine's Day, so since I'm posting it on Valentine's Day, Happy Valentine's Day everyone! And I hope you enjoy this version of "I Do"!

Disclaimer: I only own my FCs! The others belong to friends/people I knew from DeviantArt. The rest belong to Nintendo

"Thank you for saving me, Mario!" Peach smiled as Mario opened the door to the cage she was trapped inside. She leaned in and gave Mario a kiss on the nose, making the plumber's face turn as red as his cap.

"It's no problem, Princess! I'm just happy that you're safe." Mario said. He glanced down at Bowser, who was lying on the floor, knocked out. Mario sighed, wishing that the Koopa King would just give up already.

Mario smiled and took her hand. "Let's head home."

"Yes!" Peach replied as they left Bowser's Castle.

Once they made it back to the Mushroom Kingdom, Peach offered to bake a cake for Mario. Mario told Peach that she didn't have to, but she insisted. Mario waited patiently at the table as Peach put the cake in the oven to bake. He couldn't wait to taste it! He loved Peach's baking. Mario sighed happily as he watched the princess wash her hands.

Mario and Peach have been together for a few years now. They loved each other a lot and enjoyed spending time together. For some time now, Mario has been thinking about their relationship a lot more. He loves Peach so much and wanted to be with her forever. Mario did try to propose to Peach while he, Peach, and Bowser were on the moon, but the princess rejected them both. Since time has passed, he wanted to try again and ask Peach to marry him, this time buying her a beautiful ring.

Mario went to every jewelry store in Toad Town to find the perfect ring for Peach, but he couldn't find one that she'd love. He went to the Beanbean Kingdom, Coconut Mall in Isle Delfino, and even Jewelry Land to find a ring, but unfortunately, Mario couldn't find the right ring. Sighing, he made his way back to his home where his younger brother Luigi was finishing up their lunch.

"Hey bro! Did you have any luck?" Luigi asked as he sat two bowels of Mushroom Soup on the table. He smile slightly fell as he saw the disappointed look on his older brother's face.

Mario sighed as he took his seat at the table. He took a bite of his soup and a small smile appeared on his face.

"I just want to find the perfect ring for Peach. Not even Jewelry Land had the right one! I even asked King Fret and Prince Pine for help!" Mario exclaimed.

The two brothers ate in silence for a few minutes. Then, Luigi thought of something.

"Have you tried the Crystal Kingdom?" He asked, making Mario gasp.

"The Crystal Kingdom! Why didn't I think of that sooner? That place has beautiful gems!" Mario replied.

"Yeah! I bet Princess Krystal can help you find one!" Luigi grinned.

"You're right, Weege! That's what I'll do! Tomorrow, I'm gonna go to the Crystal Kingdom!" Mario cheered and took another bite of his soup.

"Hello Mario! It's so wonderful to see you!" Princess Krystal, ruler of the Crystal Kingdom, greeted the hero of the Mushroom Kingdom.

"Hiya Princess! I'm glad to see you and the kingdom are doing well. I was wondering if you could help me with something." Mario replied.

Krystal got off of her throne and walked closer to Mario, moving a piece of her long white hair out of her face. "Oh really? What's is it?"

"Well," Mario looked around, making sure no one else was around to listen, "I want to find a ring for Peach."

"Oh wow! I'll definitely help you! We can go to my favorite store here!" Krystal smiled, took Mario's hand, and they made their way out of her castle.

Mario smiled as he looked around the Crystal Kingdom. This place was still very beautiful to him! As they greeted a few Toads and people, Krystal and Mario arrived at one of the malls in the kingdom.

"There's a really nice jewelry store in here. I'm sure you'll find the perfect ring here." Krystal said.

The two walked inside of the mall until they arrived at the jewelry store. Mario was amazed at the many necklaces, rings, earrings, and brooches. The manager greeted the princess and was happy to see Super Mario in the store. After learning why Mario was there, the manager eagerly showed them the many engagement rings across the room. Mario looked around at all of the rings.

"Oooh! This one is very pretty!" Krystal said, pointing to a ring with a red crystal.

"Wow it is! But, I think I'll keep looking." Mario replied. Krystal nodded and looked around with him.

After a few minutes of searching, Mario was starting to lose hope. Until, his eyes landed on a ring with a pink crystal.

"Wow! This one is beautiful!" Mario exclaimed. Krystal looked at the ring Mario was pointing to and smiled.

"Oh! That's a Rose Quartz! It's best known for being the stone of unconditional love." Krystal explained.

"Whoa! That's amazing!" Mario said. After looking at the ring again, Mario smiled.

"This is the one!" He exclaimed.

The manager got the ring and handed it to the clerk. Mario reached into his pocket to grab his coins, but Krystal stopped him.

"Don't worry, Mario. I'll pay for it." She smiled sweetly.

"I can't have you do that, Princess!" Mario replied.

"It's no problem! I'm happy to help!" Krystal said and gave the coins to the clerk. The two then left the mall.

"Thanks so much for your help, Krystal. And for buying the ring!" Mario said.

"You're welcome, Mario! Like I said, I was happy to help!" She replied. Mario then said goodbye to the crystal princess and made his way back to the Mushroom Kingdom.

A few weeks later, Mario and his friends were invited to Peach's Castle for a party that Peach was throwing. Mario was excited, but also nervous. Tonight, he was going to ask the princess to marry him. He was hoping that Peach would accept, but thought back to that moment on the moon. Mario took a deep breath, doing his best to calm down.

"I can do this! Everything's gonna be alright!" Mario said to himself.

A few hours later, the party started and more people were arriving at the castle. Everyone was having a great time. Some were dancing, others were eating and talking to the other guests. Luigi and Daisy were talking to Mario and Peach for a bit until Daisy dragged Luigi to the dancefloor. Peach smiled as she looked around at everyone.

"I'm so glad that everyone's having a great time!" Peach said.

"Yeah! This is a fun party!" Mario replied.

Then, Mario turned to Peach, looking a little nervous.

"Peach? Can we go somewhere alone to talk?" He asked.

"Of course, Mario." Peach replied.

Peach took Mario away from the party and into a private room. Making sure no one was around, she quietly shut the door.

"What did you want to talk about?" Peach asked.

"Well, I actually have something to give you." Mario said.

Peach softly gasped as she watched Mario get down on one knee and pull out a small black box. He opened it, revealing the ring with the rose quartz crystal.

"I guess the last time I tried to ask this wasn't the best time hehe. But I hope it is now. So, um, Princess Peach Toadstool...Will you marry me?" Mario asked, their faces turning pink.

"Oh Mario...Yes! Yes, I will marry you!" Peach cheered. Mario smiled as he put the ring on Peach's finger. Once he stood up, Peach pulled him into a hug and kissed him.

"I love you so much, Peach." Mario said, still blushing.

"I love you too, Mario." Peach replied and gave him another kiss. She took his hand and they went back to the party, excited to tell everyone the good news.

I hope you all enjoyed this chapter! I'll work on the next one soon!
