Hi! I haven't written anything in almost two months. I've mostly been working on outlining the new version of "The Crystal Kingdom" and editing the chapters of my finished stories. I kinda missed writing :) So, my plan was to post this either closer to New Years Eve or on New Years Eve, but I'm not sure if I'll have the time to. So I'm posting it now! Let's hope this version is better than the last one :D
Also, like I said last time, yes, this is a Luigi x Rosalina story. Yes, I ship it. But, I also love and prefer Luigi x Daisy.
Disclaimer: I only own my FCs!
Five years have passed since Luigi and Rosalina started dating. The two got together sometime after Luigi gave Rosalina her new necklace on Christmas. Ever since then, they have been really happy together. Luigi and Rosalina loved each other very much and enjoyed spending time together. Their friends were also very happy and supportive when they got together. Daisy was extremely happy for them, giving them both a big, tight hug when they told everyone.
Lately, Luigi has been thinking about his relationship a lot more. One day while walking around Toad Town, he decided to buy Rosalina a gift. He already bought her a Christmas gift, but he knew that this gift would be more special.
Luigi returned to his house to find Mario relaxing on the couch. He sighed and sat next to his brother.
"Hey bro!" Mario greeted. He noticed the bag in his brother's hand. "What's in there?"
Luigi, trying not to blush, pulled out the small box and handed it to Mario. Mario opened it and softly gasped, seeing a diamond ring inside.
"I bought this for Rosie. Do you think she'll like it?" Luigi asked.
"Wait... is this—"
"Hehe yeah." Luigi replied, cutting off his brother. Mario looked at Luigi and smiled.
"I think Rosalina will love it." He said. Mario closed the box and handed it back to Luigi. "So when are you gonna ask her?"
Luigi thought for a moment. "Hmm. Maybe I can ask her at our Christmas party."
Christmas has finally arrived and the Mario Bros were finishing setting up their party. All of their friends were going to be there and they were all excited. As Luigi was blowing up balloons, he kept thinking about Rosalina.
"I really hope she'll say yes." He thought.
A few hours have passed and the party finally started. Everyone was having a great time. Some people were dancing while others were either eating, talking, or opening gifts. Luigi and Rosalina were sitting on the couch talking. The two had exchanged gifts a few minutes ago. Rosalina gave Luigi a new hat and he gave her a new sweater.
As the couple talked, Luigi continued to think about the ring.
"I'm really nervous. Oh, I hope Rosie says yes..." Rosalina noticed Luigi was spacing out.
"Are you alright, sweetie?" She asked. Luigi shook his head, snapping out of it.
"Oh, I'm fine. I was just thinking about something." He replied. Luigi took one of Rosalina's hands and stared at her.
"Actually Rosie, I wanted to ask you something." Luigi said.
"Oh? What's that?" Rosalina asked. Luigi took a deep breath.
"Rosalina... will... will you—" Before Luigi could finish, they saw Toadette running up to them.
"Hey guys! Peach wants to play a game. Wanna join us?" She asked.
"Oh sure, Toadette." Rosalina smiled. She turned to Luigi after Toadette ran back to the others.
"What were you saying again, Luigi?" She asked.
"Uh, it can wait. It wasn't that important." Luigi smiled.
Luigi told Mario what happened after the party was over. He decided to ask Rosalina another time. Since Peach was throwing a New Years party at her castle, he chose to ask her there. Luigi sat on his bed with the box in his hand. He opened it and looked at the ring again.
"Alright, Luigi. No matter what happens, you gotta ask her!" Luigi said to himself.
A few days have passed and Peach's New Years party was the next day. Mario and Luigi were helping Peach get some last minute decorations. They were in the ballroom bringing in the decorations so they could decorate tomorrow. Mario and Luigi were carrying a huge box inside the ballroom when Mario spoke.
"So when do you plan on asking her?" Mario asked Luigi.
"I'm definitely going to ask her tomorrow at the party." Luigi replied as he helped Mario sit the box down.
"Good luck, bro!" Mario replied and smiled.
The next day came and the party started. Peach invited their friends and some royals from other kingdoms. Everyone was having a good time. Mario and Luigi were talking to Peach and Daisy when Luigi noticed Rosalina entering the ballroom.
"Oh! Rosalina's here! I'll be back in a bit!" Luigi said to them.
Luigi walked over to his girlfriend and smiled. "Hi Rosalina!"
"Hi Weegee!" Rosalina smiled back and hugged him. The two then heard a new song starting to play.
"Wanna dance?" Luigi asked.
"Sure!" Rosalina replied and followed Luigi to the dancefloor.
"I'm having a really great time!" Rosalina said.
"Haha! Me too!" Luigi replied. He then remembered the ring in his pocket.
"Hey Rosie, let's go talk on the balcony." Luigi said.
"Oh alright." Rosalina replied and followed him.
Once they made it to the balcony, Rosalina looked at Luigi, a little confused.
"Why did you want to come out here, Luigi?" She asked.
"Well, remember on Christmas when I was trying to ask you something?" He replied. Rosalina nodded.
"Well, here goes nothing." Luigi thought. Luigi took Rosalina's hand again.
"I was really nervous the last time and I still kinda am. But, I wanted us to be alone so I could ask you this." Luigi got down on one knee, took out the box, and opened it. Luigi and Rosalina began to blush.
"Rosalina... will you marry me?" Luigi finally asked. Rosalina began to tear up and she smiled at him.
"Luigi... yes! Yes I will marry you!" She said. Luigi, grinning, put the engagement ring on her finger, got up, and wiped her tears away. They heard everyone inside counting down until they heard fireworks going off.
"It's the new year now." Rosalina said.
"Yep! And I know this year will be even better." Luigi replied. Rosalina smiled at him again.
"I love you, Luigi." She said.
"I love you too, Rosalina." Luigi replied and kissed her.
I'm gonna be honest. Part of me was a little afraid to write. Like with my art, I sometimes feel like everyone else is improving faster while I'm stuck in the same spot I've been in since 2010. I might be getting those For Dummies books on writing for either Christmas or my birthday, so hopefully my writing skills will be better :) Anyways, I'll work on the next chapter another time! I hope you all have a great rest of the year and I hope 2025 will be a great year for us all!
