"I can't believe you're being adopted!" Butch spoke as he clipped on his belt.
"you're so lucky! we've never had parents. at least not good ones" Brick commented as he tried to push a hairbrush through his hair, snapping it in half in the process.
"thanks guys! also I think you should get that cut" Henry replied while Violet fidgeted with her hands next to him. Violet was wearing a light violet buttoned up dress, a very light purple hairband, white socks and black mary jane shoes while her hair was loose down her back where her purple and pink backpack was. Henry was wearing a dark red plaid jacket, a light gray t-shirt, blue jeans, black sneakers and a dark blue and black backpack while his hair was brushed away from his face.
"no! I like my hair long!" Brick complained, clutching his hair.
"you cut it once, you can do it again" Butch replied with a scoff.
"that was different, you had to cut it with your laser eyes because Blossom got it stuck in a block of ice!" Brick scowled.
"it was already at your ankles anyways! what? ya wanna be Rapunzel now?" Butch teased.
Brick let out a low growl.
"oh boy! now you're a dog in desperate need for a haircut!" Butch replied with a mischievous smile.
"why you little-" Brick was cut off by Boomer floating in-between them.
"can you two just chill? this was fine when we were criminals but now we're orphans about to be adopted. this isn't fine anymore" Boomer told them.
"I don't get it" Butch shrugged.
"me neither" Brick agreed.
"well there, now you have something you can agree on" Boomer replied.
"bye guys! we'll see you next sunday when we come visit!" Henry declared with a wave.
"bye Henry! bye Violet! see you then!" the rowdyruff boys replied with a smile on each of their faces.
"hey Butch! I bet you can't lift the entire orphanage building!" an orphan in their early teens declared as he ran up to Butch, who was hanging from a tree like a bat.
"heh, bet" Butch chuckled before swinging up to sit normally on the branch.
he then flew off to the large church like building and placed both hands underneath.
Butch lifted the building up half a foot before he dropped it with a thud in fear of doing serious damage to the pipes.
"Butch, what the f-ck was that?" Boomer asked as he walked over.
"some teenager bet I couldn't lift the whole f-cking building" Butch explained with a shrug.
"we're not allowed to swear here" a preteen orphan said, butting into the conversation.
"well we don't care" Butch replied.
"oh gosh, I hate showering" Boomer said under his breath, holding a towel with both hands as he and his brothers headed to the bathroom to shower that night. Butch had a towel wrapped around his his torso instead of wearing a god d-mn shirt while Brick was holding a towel in one hand and had his tangled hair loose down his shoulder.
"Butch, why are you shirtless?" Brick asked.
"the one I was wearing today got really dirty while I was playing with other kids, one of the other two is still in the wash. also I'm gonna be shirtless showering anyways so I might as well not wear a shirt" Butch explained.
"okay..." Brick trailed off as they entered the bathroom.
they each entered individual shower stalls and locked the doors behind them.
Boomer tossed his towel onto the door.
he took off his clothes and put them on the door next to the towel.
the blonde-haired boy switched on the water to warm, flinching as he grew fins and his eyes changed.
he sat down on the wet floor and crossed his legs, feeling the water on his skin.
focusing all his might, Boomer tried his best to turn back to normal.
after a few long moments, he finally felt his fins fold back into his skin and his eyes change to their regular look.
"yes" he quietly hissed.
almost immediately, the loss of his concentration combined with the continuous flow of water caused his fins to appear and his eyes to change once more.
"good enough" he whispered under his breath.
Brick turned off the water and grabbed the towel hanging over the locked door.
he wrapped the towel around his body and unlocked the stall door.
he left the stall about the same time Boomer came out of the one had been showering in.
Brick looked at him in confusion when he saw his fins and weird eyes.
"what happened to you?" Brick asked.
"for like, the past week, everytime my skin gets wet I turn into this. with enough focus I can turn back to normal while still being wet too" Boomer explained.
Butch then left the shower stall he was in, loudly gasping when he saw Boomer.
"fish form!" Butch exclaimed, pointing his hand at Boomer.
"yes!" Boomer replied, pointing back at him.
"fish form it is" Brick agreed with a shrug.
"man, I can't believe I'm the only rowdyruff boy without a unique power" Brick commented as he fell onto his bed, the second bed on the right from the door, now wearing a red t-shirt dress with his hair tied in a high ponytail.
"what do you mean?" Butch asked, wearing a green t-shirt dress as he sat on his bed, the first bed on the left from the door.
"have you seriously not noticed you've been healing like, twice as fast then me and Boomer these days?" Brick asked as he sat up.
"of course I have! although, I haven't really thought about why" Butch admitted.
"why am I still like this!? I swear I'm dry all over!" Boomer complained while only wearing his underwear, still in fish form.
"your hairs still wet, so your scalp probably is too" Brick replied.
"oh" Boomer squeaked.
"anyways, I'm pretty sure you have healing powers" Brick explained.
"what? but I like fighting, like, the most out of all of us!" Butch complained.
"well, ain't that ironic?" Boomer teased.
"oh shut up Boomer! at least I'm not a meme!" Butch replied.
"I don't know what you mean" Boomer spoke, grabbing his towel and beginning to dry his hair.
"have you seriously never been on the internet before!? geez, 'ok boomer'" Butch exclaimed.
"no, I have not. it's trivial and bland. and it's a serotonin farm" Boomer replied, waving his towel at the raven-haired boy.
"a what farm?" Brick queried.
