It was a cool day in Adventure Bay as the pups were all busy getting ready for Christmas; some pups were wrapping gifts, others were putting up decorations, and some pups were just playing in the snow.

Rocky meanwhile was walking back from get a bath at Katie's Pet Parlor. Good thing he dried off or otherwise he would be cold. As the mixed breed walked back to The Lookout however, he noticed how there weren't a lot of trees by their home.

Suddenly, a thought occured to Rocky; how many trees WERE still standing? Rocky then ran to The Lookout, and got into his rig. Just then, Rubble walked up.

"Hi Rocky, what are you doing? Weren't you at Katie's place getting a bath?" Rubble asked curiously.

"Yes, I was. But I want to check something out. I'll be back," Rocky replied before driving down the driveway and into town.

As Rocky drove, he looked to see how the trees were doing. He wanted to see just how many were standing, how many had falled over or were cut down, damaged branches or parts. This was something concerning the mixed breed.

"It's a miracle more trees haven't been damaged from rescues and such. I thought more would have been damaged! Then again, the animators do break the laws of physics a lot during our rescues," Rocky said to himself before driving back to The Lookout.

After hopping out of his truck, Rocky went into The Lookout and into the elevator. The elevator went up to the top before the pup walked out.

"Ryder? Are you here?" Rocky asked as he walked out.

"Hi Rocky, what's up?" Ryder replied as he stopped playing a game on his pup pad, and looked up at the pup. The boy was sitting in a bean bag calmly.

"Ryder, I was walking back from Katie's place, and I noticed how many trees we don't have around The Lookout. I even checked all over town, and ... I'm concerned," Rocky replied. Ryder got up from the bean bag he was sitting in, and walked over to the mixed breed.

"Concerned? Why is that?" Ryder asked sympathetically. Rocky sighed.

"Ryder, I know we make a real life Christmas tree every year, and it's great! But, what if some day, there weren't enough trees to make a real Christmas tree? Jake's mountain and the forest has lots of trees, but we can't just cut all those trees down! Animals and the forest need those trees. If anything, it's a miracle a lot more trees haven't goten damaged during our rescues!" Rocky explained.

Ryder took a moment to think about what Rocky had said. The mixed breed DID have a point, but the more he thought about the situation, it didn't take long before Ryder laughed.

"R-Rocky, I understand why you're concerned, but I think you're making a big deal over nothing. Like you said, there aren't a lot of trees that are damaged or fallen down. Besides, you suggested everyone plant trees for Earth Day! Sure it takes years for a full pine tree to grow, but I don't think we need to be worried about a tree shortage for Christmas. Besides, we use the same tree to decorate every year!" Ryder replied to his friend.

Rocky couldn't believe his ears. Yes it was true they planted lots of trees, but the pup was concerned for if there weren't as many in the future! Was Ryder really THAT confident something terrible wouldn't happen?

"All of that is true Ryder, but aren't you worried about what we'll do for Christmas when there aren't enough trees?" Rocky responded, still slightly worried.

"Rocky, I understand WHY you are worried about the trees, but as long as we plant more, I don't think we'll have to be concerned about having a small number if trees in Adventure Bay. Besides, I think it will be a really long time before something like that happens," Ryder said sympathetically.

"Okay. I was just making sure," Rocky said as Ryder pet the mixed breed on the head and back. The boy then gave him a hug, and Rocky hugged back.

"You're such a good pup Rocky," Ryder said as the two friends hugged. Once they separated, Ryder walked to the elevator and went down it.

"See you later Rocky. I need to go check the Christmas cookies -" Ryder said before vanishing from sight. Once he was alone, Rocky sighed.

"I'm happy Ryder understands, but I'm not concerned for IF there aren't enough Christmas trees; I'm worried about WHEN we won't, and WHAT we'll do. There's got to be a solution! I mean, it's not like I can make an eco-friendly Christmas tree! All other trees are fake, and I've never heard of an environmentally friendly tree. If only there was a simple way to make one!" Rocky told himself as he thought.

"Maybe if I do some research, I can make my own eco-friendly Christmas tree! I mean, it won't be easy, but I can try! Wait! That would make the PERFECT Christmas gift for the pups! Hopefully, I can make it work. Green means go!" Rocky said before he ran to the slide, and slid down.
