Total Drama X: Winter Warriors
No Requests, No Problems! (Updated for one reason)
This roster ain't exactly yours to choose for this one (drops giant rock on reviews that don't exist, website explodes.) and flies back to computer.
I've got a great feeling 'bout this.
Also, the Hotel Rockies and private requests should be in italics, because there's a lot in this roster, so thanks to G-man 2.0, DrunkenDonuts, JMeowstick, ChaosBlade327, 1602jaw, Neon-Trainer, NondescriptNorbert, PrincessGumballWaterson777 and a guest.
EPISODE 1 RELEASING the first week of May 2024, just to give me enough time to get a backlog of episodes to come out consistently every week, since it's mostly complete.
And to add the final four characters for my story, most of them requested by somebody and one of them is mine.
I know what you're thinking at this very moment, which is "why do this when you're already handling Hotel Rockies and it hasn't even started and usually, fanfic authors handling two different stories don't go well-"
Because I want to make a story with a smaller roster (relatively speaking) and look at Hotel Rockies, which is kind of the opposite of that (with a very Canadian focus) and the vast majority of the roster was decided in early 2023 AKA a year ago and even the later additions like Xiaoshi, Damien and Mai Shiranui were added before 2024 started besides Juri.
That being said, this roster is a mix of cut requests from Hotel Rockies, special requests that are interesting and my favourite characters from recent media...and I don't want to add characters after the Episodes start releasing one after another.
Here's the 36 dudes and babes for the season!
#1: Ken Carson (Barbie) - The Doll Guy
Last year, it was about Barbenheimer AKA Oppenheimer and Barbie and obviously I can't put le bomb man (who's probably got a better movie) in here as he's a real person.
I would put Barbie in the season, but Ken's a dude and Barbie kinda wants to be real which is something I probably won't do in a fanfic, but somebody else will.
Besides, he ain't just Ken, but a emotionally complicated himbo.
#2: Ramona Flowers (Scott Pilgrim) - The Delivery Chick
Scott Pilgrim Takes Off aired last year and she does deserve a second chance on a season that wasn't Endless and...Forest Campgrounds, but that seems to have its own production issues, so she's here.
But like Scott Pilgrim in UI, she does take herself from the main series instead of Takes Off and right now, she might have the relationship, but old habits might come back to bite twice as hard in more ways than one (and it's not like parts of Takes Off couldn't be taken from in additive ways.)
#3: Hobie Brown/Spider-Punk (Across The Spider-Verse) - The Anarchist Spider
Real ones will know that he's one of the most faithful adaptations of an Anarchist, which means despite being younger than a few guys, he's absolutely going to be key to how the team functions kinda like in the Spider-Verse.
Don't tell him that, though, he will not do that (in that moment anyways.)
#4: Princess Jasmine (Aladdin) - The Independent Princess
She doesn't want to be controlled by any man and willingly wants to be an independent princess in the film and thanks to being with Aladdin (it makes sense), in the Aladdin show and in the other two movies, she does that with gusto.
That doesn't make her not love Aladdin, just that she's always ready to help out and go on an adventure with her boyfriend.
#5: Manolo Sanchez (The Book of Life) - The Hometown Guy
Weirdly enough, I watched this in December of 2023 and man, he's instantly one of my favourite "guys doing good for no reason" protags that's common in a lot of animated movies.
He's both a pretty good bullfighter and a passionate musician, though his dad (or his dead ancestors) doesn't like the musician part, making him unwilling to be his true self.
Due to spoilery reasons, he's kinda over that, though I just want you to see the Book of Life (it's good and Mexican.)
#6: Bowser (Super Mario, ChaosBlade327) - The King of Mean
Sure he's a bad guy that will do bad things, which he doesn't mind doing and will probably be a bad guy in a Total Drama crossover season, but there's actually a decent amount of stuff that hasn't been accounted for.
Like being a dad of eight or his many, many skills that he has in the spin-offs in hilariously varying levels...and karting.
#7: Lolo (Klonoa, Kaindol51) - The Clumsy Priestess
Lolo is somewhat clumsy, insecure and a little bit selfish (mostly when she's trying to prove that she can be a good priestess), but that doesn't mean she's a bad person, if anything she's plainly trying her best and consistently is a good person.
Though she had problems at the start with Klonoa, she realises some of her full potential by the end of that adventure even with her magic skills (Which her peers mocked her for) and you know, she becomes a better priestess.
Just don't mention ghosts and you'll be fine.
#8: Professor Ratigan (The Great Mouse Detective) - The Manipulative Mastermind
He's the third Disney Villain in my stories and probably the smartest and sanest out of them all, a criminal mastermind that loves to do crime and has done many of them, including trying to become king. And since he's Basil enemy, you can guess why he's taking on this wintry island.
Ratigan's charismatic, smooth-talking, calculating and gets quite mad when Basil gets mentioned or when he gets called a rat, which will likely happen a lot since he's not in Mousedom.
Along with you know the typical Disney Villain stuff. (Cruelty, sadism, loving crime, being small, you know, that type of stuff)
#9: Ermes Costello (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure) - The Vindictive Convict
She basically got herself into prison to try and kill her sister's killer and once she did, she'd probably help Jolyne and the crew on that JoJo business, but this is not a stone ocean.
I have no idea if Boney Island is "stone free" or something, but Kiss should be able to make that job easier, since it can duplicate objects.
#10: Popeye (Popeye, Guest) - The Reliable Sailor
A classic cartoon hero with the untameable spirit and those spinach-having arms to prove that he is quite a reliable guy, even if he is not the smartest sailor to try and get a girlfriend in Olive Oyl.
He's alright.
#11: Android 21 (Dragon Ball, ChaosBlade327) - The Hungry Scientist
Literally the fighting game's OC, Android 21 is an android version of Android 16's mom and she has a ridiculous amount of hunger that seems very weird when you put against her actual personality of essentially being a good mom and a good scientist
Do not make her go hungry, she will do some crazy shenanigans like try to eat people and be Saiyan Julia, but Chris cares about that being on TV.
#12: Axl Low (Guilty Gear) - The Cool British Fella
A very cool dude with quite the tragic backstory to becoming an understanding man and he may seem a little bit like Zee, but he's much more willing to be the good guy.
Also, he can stop time and wields two sickles like his life depends on it...wonder if he's going to discover something within himself, since he does have a weird power set and would be cool with most everybody.
#13: Kamala Khan (Marvel Comics specifically, Neon-Trainer03) - The Fangirl Superhero
Probably the only contestant from Jersey in here, her being an Muslim-American who's too hyped about superheroes and you know, she was living your normal life being a Muslim superhero fangirl.
Then she started stretching her limbs (or extending limbs with crystals) and the rest was history...probably until she starts squealing about the other fictional characters in here, so you know, she's already doing good, even if her family doesn't approve of certain people.
#14: Alberto Scorfano (Luca) - The Overconfident Fish Boy
He's a simple Italian 14-year old with a dad that made him independent (and lonely) and the sheer manliness of calling people "estupido" in Italy, so he's clearly to be one of those guys. He also has a really close friendship with Luca, which is not gay friendship, helping each other to win a vespa to travel the human world and trying to live on the Italian coast.
Anyways, he's here to get a vespa, obviously.
#15: Undyne (Undertale, G-man 2.0) - The Gung-Ho Fish Lady
Rejected from Hotel Rockies and in Crossover Island, which was cancelled, Undyne's one of the most honourable (and stupidly determined) monsters that got brought up from the Underground when the legend Frisk opened that place up to the outside world, and she definitely isn't a lesbian.
Nope, not a lesbian to her dinosaur nerd girl, Alphys and like and she did think that anime was real history and also, her passion for a stupid amount of things knows no bounds.
Minus puzzles.
#16: Tengen Uzui (Demon Slayer) - The Flashy Ninja
Most ninjas keep on the downlow and make sure that they're more known for their feats than anything. Mai does lean on one side of the situation, but Tengen does both with ease to boot, being a Hashira (AKA top demon slayer) of sound.
He's been slaying long enough to have three wives in a non-cheating situation, a whole harem of ninjas (he's married to them all at the same time) and with his ridiculously flashy and distracting style of demon slaying, he's sure to be a major player in here.
Even if he wants to be known as a fellow dude.
#17: Lucy Loud (The Loud House, the same guest) - The Tween Goth
I'm going to be real with you, I haven't watched that much of the Loud House, though I think I definitely get it, since this season does need a deadpan character and I dunno if Ramona's gonna cut it.
She's a 9-year old goth girl and loves all things that have the quality of dark, edgy or spooky, basically a weirdo in this cast of mostly normal superpowered people and she's fine with just that.
Besides, she ain't a bad person, just an edgelord who doesn't mind being one, being able to be compassionate and whatnot, though consistently monotone 90% of the time.
#18: Taskmaster (Marvel) - The Copying Mercenary
A simple villain with a simple plan.
Get some money, pay off debt to some weird big guy with a red coat, try to have a good vacation and make sure that he has a good time doing it while not revealing too much about himself AKA Anthony Masters, mostly because he doesn't want too much trouble heading this island's way.
Also I forgot to mention that he could copy anyone's fighting skills (which is half the reason) and voice, though it takes much longer to do a copy of the voice.
More importantly, he's rivals with Deadpool, though I don't know why that's important.
#19: Colette (Brawl Stars, JMeowstick) - The People Collector
In yet another contrast, while Taskmaster's a smart guy who's definitely a bit of a villain in his intentions, Colette is pretty much the opposite in that she's basically a collector of people and also very crazy, but only well-intentioned. (I hope so.)
Probably a memorable first boot, but she can fight better than at least half the cast and her team might value her more than just a simple first boot.
#20: Mamizou Futatsuiwa (Touhou, Darksymphony777) - The Shrewd Tanuki
She's a bit like a nicer MK and she's very distinct from the rest of the cast with her danmaku (read: energy balls) technique and likes to mess around with people with her shapeshifting abilities and general pranks, obviously.
In spite of all that, she probably will help around the ladies' team just 'cause she wants (and because she has good power) and she can change objects as well (both for pranks and for maybe a challenge), though speaking like an old person won't help her out.
#21: Neito Monoma (My Hero Academia) - The Insecure Copier
To even out the teams, here's a man that is bit of a jerk. Unlike Alberto, he's really confident in his Class 1-B supremacy or whatever and very loud about it much to the chagrin of his own class
To prove Ochako, Kirishima and someone yet to be revealed aren't better than him, he enters this competition with the expressed intentions of helping Class 1-B thanks to a power that Taskmaster wishes he has
He can copy any power if his body can handle it and he's got a good mind for that, which means he can do a lot if they get past the fact he's a bit of douche. Which might be hard. Especially with a pink girl around.
#22: Medic (Team Fortress 2) - The Mad Doctor
A medic with questionable ethics, questionable training and questionable weapons, this doctor from Stuttgart nonetheless still is the man who does some healing with a gun that can only heal and whatnot. (Yeah, the Medi Gun is one of those many questinable things.)
Unsurprisingly, Chris bumped this guy to a contestant last minute for his own entertainment, also because Medic had this weird habit of trying to open up some dead bodies and he definitely would figure out a way of Chris breaking the law.
Or he might already have, but he's somewhat insane, so figure that out.
#23: Rukia Kuchiki (Bleach, G-man 2.0) - The Graceful Swordswoman
She was a contestant on Everything 3...so obviously she hasn't been in any fics and I should watch more Bleach, but I'm gonna do her justice anyways with her great skills.
Besides, she's been to the human world before, even if that experience is in Karakura Town in Japan and she hasn't really met the Everything cast. That being said, she ain't here to mess around in the moment at least, but give it some time.
#24: Joe Swanson (Family Guy, DrunkenDonuts) - The Wheelchair Cop
A kinda simple man with a simple job and a simple disability, Joe's the kind of guy that would take life by the horns and just do things, wheelchair and all. Plus he's a good drinking buddy and has a son that's just as loud as he can be, which is very/
Anyways, he's here for the challenge and because the dog was on TV.
#25: Dr. Robotnik (Sonic The Hedgehog movies, NondescriptNorbert) - The Mad Tech Genius
Somewhat on the opposite spectrume to Joe Swanson, this guy is no-one's buddy and is a genius with a shit ton of machines to conquer the world. You know, standard villain stuff and he had been dealt with by Sonic, his animal friends and his human buddies.
To be honest, he's just here for pride reasons, ready to not get smacked around by other animals.
#26: Akiko (Wishfart, 1602jaw) - The Witty Ghost
Despite being an intagbile ghost from Japan, she's definitely Canadian to willing to have a fun time even in this season of "gender wars" AKA boys and girls going at it.
Also, her being (somewhat) intangible might be a bit of a massive problem, but Chris ain't worried about it, since she's a big personality to basically bypass that issue, so it's ok...especially she could be helpful for mental health (by accident.)
#27: Sakura Kasugano (Street Fighter, back from Ult Islands and got cut from Hotel Rockies) - The Karate Warrior
It's easy to say that she didn't get a fair shake in that season, of which practically half of the cast can claim to. But she's come back with determination, grit, a few new moves and some more fraduluent training from Dan Hibiki (who was in Multiverse Edition) and this time, she's ready to be friendly.
As usual, but will having a season on the rest of the cast will be a problem. Probably her honed fighting techniques.
#28: Father Christmas/Santa Claus/Nick (by NondescriptNorbert) - The Jolliest Man Alive
I know, I know, it's a weird one since he really isn't from any franchise and more importantly, I'm taking from an important bit of lore. Sure, his elves practically work all year and he always checks up on them and his loving wife, but it's January.
You know what that means.
Bad movie season, he usually goes to Australia and this season takes place in the winter and so, through trickery and whatever else, he's here and ready to be himself.
Albeit, naughty people may want to look out for him.
#29: MK AKA Mary Kate (Total Drama Reboot) - The Outrageously Underestimated
MK may not get some presents and she might only be here to even out the roster, but she's got skills that Chris doesn't like and understandably, she's still here to play the game once more after two decent gos at it.
This time, she might be a little nervous about all of these super-powered people, but she's got the mind and the skills to help a girlfriend out, like doing some cheats here and there and being ridiculously resourceful.
Basically, underestimate her at your peril.
#30: Emma (The Promised Neverland) - The Optimistic Genius
Emma's an optimist and she lives in an orphanage in the middle of nowhere with rigourous IQ testing and a loving mom, so what's the problem here? Well, when she goes to give one of her many friends her doll, she's not exactly...alive and with her two friends, realise that they're just meat to these demons.
Together with her best friends Ray & Norman and also Don & Gilda, they plan to escape the orphanage and the evil "mom" , but...I won't spoil anything and she gets thrown into Total Drama somehow.
Basically, Chris McLean's somehow a better person than the "mom", but this show may cause trouble for the 13-year old orphan even with her wits and positive attitude.
#31: Red (Pokemon, UnchartedCoast2) - The Silent Trainer
He is a man of very few words, the first Pokemon master (says some people) and has a pretty awesome team of Pokemon that makes up for his basically mute-ness and general cheekiness and the years haven't changed him that much.
A little cheeky and ready to make a move with any of his pretty solid team, he rarely comes down from that mountain (despite somehow being socially adept) and he came to compete, dude, nothing big about it, he's seen a office worker and an abusive mom do it, now it's time for the master's turn.
(Or so he writes.)
#32: Mina Ashido (My Hero Academia, G-man 2.0) - The Airhead Hero
Not exactly a genius in most areas, Mina can hero harder than a majority of the cast, even the bullfighting guitarist, willing to sacrifice herself at the drop of a hat to help anyone and stop bullies with an positive attitude.
That being said, she's basically Lindsay except being somewhat smarter, being real strict about dancing and gossip-hungry. And she can shoot out acid and fight like the best of the heroes in training thanks to her reflexes.
So nothing like Lindsay minus lacking smarts.
#33: Natalya Ivanova (Destroy All Humans, PrincessGumballWaterson777) - The Alien-Loving Spy
Gotta be honest, didn't think that she alone would expand this roster just a little bit as there's not really a lack of female villains relatively speaking. (MK and Ermes somewhat), but she is a pretty cool, calm and conniving spy and canonically has relationships with an alien.
Like the romantic kind, but besides, she's got other skills that will make her distinct in this cast of weirdos. Especially since she might be a bit of a weirdo.
#34: Big Man (Splatoon 3, JMeowstick) - The Hype Ray
The chillest of the chill people (there's only two or three of 'em) and unlike Axl Low, he can keep up with the majority of the cast with a ink weapon and maybe some shadow stuff.
Whatever that means might not matter that much since it's a bit hard to communicate with only "Ay!" as your word, but he's cool with it. Especially since he's only doing it for Splatsville.
Damn, JMeowstick's got an interesting cast of requests, wonder how that's going to work out.
#35: Sticks the Badger (Sonic Boom) - The Consipracy Badger
I rewatched Sonic Boom and it's pretty decent, though it's not rare to see a good episode.
Plus Sticks was in Ultimate Crossover (the one from 2016), I couldn't let someone like that be in a cancelled fic and she does bring quite the unique role to her team.
She's loyal, honest and prepared for any invasion or true consipracies, which might be disappointing when she had to deal with MK or any alliances for that matter.
#36: Puss In Boots (Shrek 2, UnchartedCoast2) - The Proud Hunter
Gotta say, outside of StaticShock01, I feel like this guy can do an incredible amount of stuff within a season that isn't just in the backgroun and I know that this was an incredibly last minute decision, but he's a Robin Hood.
He's a strong one and ready to take the win.
Plus I like him.
With that being said, here's some specific cuts that could absolutely come back in Going Global, mostly down to the limit actually being 32:
Tohru from Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid and Ristarte from Cautious Hero (since they're officially interns and some contestants will join them as they get eliminated, but for the moment.)
Rashid from Street Fighter (I've arugably replaced him with two different people and despite his wind tech and fighting style, he wouldn't stand out that much.)
Iori Yagami (Believe it or not, Sakura wasn't the only returning character from Ult Islands, but...uh...there's already enough bad dudes on the guys' side and this ain't Going Global)
Serena (Would be really hard to properly research, Red's got my writer's pride working up and in addition, there's 32 spots and she'd absolutely be in a 36-strong roster full of edginess)
Edward Scissorhands (As much as he'd be a cool creep and weirdo with the boys, I haven't seen his movie at the moment and even if he'd be a unique character)
Liz Sherman from Hellboy (Nearly the same situation, but she'd be in if Sakura wasn't in to prove herself and uh, she can do fire powers. So, she'd probably be in for GG if possible)
Julie Winters from The Maxx (Probably could take Morrigan's spot, but she's not Scottish...that 'bout it.)
Sly Marbo from Warhammer 40k (Would take Taskmaster's spot, since he's just an one-man army with guns and whatnot and a quiet man to boot. But, uh, see if you noticed something.)
Parasoul & Filia from Skullgirls (It's quite literally because Sticks is too entertaining to not have in, quite the unique character within this season and got picked up from a cancelled fic. Plus they're both kinda redundant specifically here.)
Watch or read The Promised Neverland (not the second season of the anime, specifically, heard that rushes past so many arcs, like so many of 'em.) because it's good.
Liz Sherman, Serena, Iori Yagami, Parasoul and Edward Scissorhands would definitely be in a different season and probably might end up in Going Global for potential newcomers, but who really knows.
Either way, Chris is ready to (not) sabotage the TDX franchise and prove why he's the better host compared to Topher, which will be hard as you're going to see in Hotel Rockies, things are going to get bad in the our lord's month of Feburary 2024, which is when this season takes place in.
There ain't any named interns aside from the previously stated Ristarte and Tohru and they'll definitely being doing stuff.
Besides, Hotel Rockies is my main priority (and the new main sequel to Ultimate Islands) and this is my "writing something when I have time to do" story (AKA a true spin-off, so aside from Chris and Chef, they haven't heard that much about Hotel Rockies)
