Chapter 2:
Flash Is Leaving The Temple
After sneaking past their sleeping friends and reaching the gates leading to the garden, Twilight, Sunset, and Spike continue their quest to find Flash and bring him back to the temple. Along the way, they were blocked by another gate, but Twilight managed to smash through the gates with one kick of her hooves. As they entered the garden, appearing from the ground in front of them is a Trapweed.
"Oh, great, Another one of those overgrown Flytraps," Spike complained, seeing the Trapweed again after a long time while recalling almost being eaten by one.
Twilight approached the plant monster and started to melee on it, such as hitting it, whacking it, tossing it into the air, doing some aerial combats skills on it, and kicking it to the ground defeated. But the Trapweed burrowed underground and reappeared on a ledge above them.
The two Alicorns and Dragon climbed up onto the ledge and Sunset started to melee on the Trapweed too until it burrowed into the ground, defeated this time.
The two mares saw they are getting close to Flash. The only thing they have to do now is jump over a big gap and land right on the ledge where the exit is blocked by overgrown branches and another Trapweed is waiting to attack them, blocking their way out.
That didn't stop Twilight and Sunset from trying because as they jumped across the gap and made it to the ledge, they worked together and defeated the Trapweed smashing the branches away and clearing the exit in the process.
As they exited the garden, the trio soon found out they have caught up to Flash as the stallion was about to head off by himself.
Flash looked upset about everything and that got Twilight to worry about him.
"Flash, what are you doing out here? It's dangerous to be outside the temple at night," Twilight reminded him as Flash turned to face her and the others, sighing sadly from seeing them all out here and walked up to them.
"You shouldn't have followed me, Twilight," Flash said sadly, wishing Twilight and the others hadn't followed him outside the temple, especially at this time.
"Well, that's good enough for me. Let's go, girls. See ya, Flash," Spike said, waving goodbye to Flash before heading off back inside the temple.
"Please, don't make this harder for me than it already is," Flash pleaded with mercy.
"We're just trying to understand," Twilight said in concern, wanting to know why Flash is outside the temple at night.
"I'm leaving, Twilight. I don't belong here. After what I've done and all I've put you and your friends through. I just can't stay," Flash replied with a sad sigh, looking down sadly and feeling greatly guilty about the crimes he has done when he was Slash.
"Flash, nopony blames you for what happened," Twilight said, feeling sad to hear this while she was assuring the stallion that everything that happened wasn't his fault to blame.
"Twilight's right, Flash. What happened back then wasn't your fault. You were just under the influence of the Dark Master. But you're free now," Sunset said, reminding Flash of what the Dark Master has done to him and made him do.
"Please, I do. So speak for yourselves," Spike scoffed in disagreement.
"Spike," Twilight was about to chide the young Dragon, but Flash interrupted her.
"No, Spike is right. And every day that goes by, I'm just reminded of it. Twilight, you and your friends' place is here, your destinies are here. But mine is somewhere out there for me to find," Flash said, looking down in shame while knowing his destiny is somewhere in the outside world.
"But, Flash. I don't want you to go," Twilight said, pleading for the stallion to not leave the temple.
"None of us do," Sunset added, also pleading for Flash to stay at the temple.
"Goodbye, my friends," Flash said one last time before galloping off somewhere as Twilight, Sunset, and Spike watched him leave the temple while Twilight shook her head from never seeing him again.
After Flash left, Spike turned to Twilight and Sunset, "Now can we finally get some sleep around here? I've been only sort of half-sleeping with one eye open for weeks now, alternating eyes of course. Unless it's a strain, but I tell ya. It's taking a toll. Hey, was this twitch always there?" Spike asked, noticing his right eye beginning to twitch.
"I'm not sure if that twitch was always there, Spike. What do you think, Twilight?" Sunset asked, examining Spike's twitching right eye before turning to Twilight, only to see her standing there with her eyes looking like they were about to close and her head shaking around.
"Twilight? You okay, Sis?" Spike asked, noticing Twilight's posture as well, almost like she was feeling drowsy.
Instead of answering, Twilight just closed her eyes and suddenly drops to the ground, falling asleep.
"Hey, I want to sleep too. But I didn't mean now. At least let's get inside it's dark out here, Sis. I don't like it," Spike said, trying to get her to wake up so they can get back inside the temple where they are safe.
"Twilight? Are you awake?" Sunset called out to her, trying to wake Twilight up, but Twilight has completely passed out.
"Hello? Anypony home? Yoo-hoo!" Spike shouted out, also trying to wake her up by shaking her.
But little did they know is that in her sleep, Twilight is going to be on an all-new adventure in her dreams…
