Chapter 3:
The Temple Is Under Attack
Meanwhile, back outside the Temple, Sunset and Spike were still trying to wake Twilight up from her slumber, unaware that she was having a training adventure in her dreams.
"Hello, hello, hello, hello, anypony home? Hello? Hello?" Spike called out, still getting Twilight to wake up while Sunset just watched and rolled her eyes at Spike trying to wake up Twilight.
"Hey, I think she's starting to wake up," Sunset said, noticing Twilight's body was beginning to stir, which means she was starting to wake up after passing out on the ground like that, Twilight felt a new power flowing through her as a result, but it felt like it could give her strength, something that could help her and her friends face the Dark Armies.
Opening her eyes, Twilight was finally waking up from passing out like that as she groaned and raised up her head tiredly, finding herself back in Equestria again, in the gardens of the Alicorn Temple. Shaking her head to feel more awake and starting to get her bearings, Twilight stood up and began to look around the area she, Sunset, and Spike were in as if she was expecting something to happen here.
"Twilight, are you okay?" Sunset asked, seeing her friend looking around the area with concern in her voice.
"I'm fine. It's just…something is happening, guys. I'm not sure if I can explain it," Twilight said in concern, trying to figure out what she could explain to Spike and Sunset about what is happening as she felt her element of Magic finally returned.
"You don't say, Twilight. See, while you were busy being catatonic, Sunset and I have been hearing a lot of hooting and howling around the whole place. Listen," Spike said, explaining what he and Sunset have heard out here while Twilight was asleep.
The two Alicorns and Dragon stopped and listened as they began hearing the sounds of crickets chirping and owls hooting around the area. But they also began to hear the flapping of wings and a clanging sound that was getting louder, and it sounded like it was heading their way.
"What is that?" Twilight asked, wondering what source the sound was coming from as it got louder.
"I'm not sure. But I don't think I like the sound of that," Sunset said, getting very concerned as they looked at the opening they entered the garden from.
Suddenly, falling out of nowhere from the sky, a huge strange bomb appeared and landed near the Mane 2 and Spike as it exploded, sending Twilight and Sunset back while Spike was tossed back and hits a statue before falling to the ground dizzy.
"What's happening?" Twilight asked, a little shocked by what just happened.
Sunset looked up into the sky and became horrified as she tapped Twilight on the shoulder to get her attention, "Twilight, look!" Sunset said, pointing to the sky above them with her hoof.
Twilight followed Sunset's example and to her shock flying above them, they saw that the temple was being under attack. And attacking it are the Dreadwings and the Dark Army.
The three tried to make their way back inside the temple. But another bomb exploded, and it caused the opening to be blocked by rubble, trapping Twilight, Sunset, and Spike outside the temple and their friends inside the temple.
"Oh, no! The temple is under attack! The others are still sleeping, we need to get back and fast!" Twilight said, knowing they must get back inside and warn the others about the temple is under attack.
"Twilight, are you crazy? You want to go towards the danger?" Spike asked, thinking Twilight is crazy about wanting to confront their enemies so they can warn the others.
"Sunset, is there any other way for us to get into the temple?" Twilight asked, turning to Sunset to see if she knew any other way for them to get back inside the temple.
"Actually, Twilight, there is one other way for us to get in. Follow me," Sunset said as she started running off forward down another path, leading the way with Twilight following right behind her.
"Ugh, I like Twilight better when she is sleeping," Spike complained, shaking his head before he started following right behind the two Alicorns as they began their quest to find another way back into the temple so they could warn the others…
Author's Note: Looks like the Dark Army is back and Twilight, Sunset, and Spike are ready to take them on. Well, as soon as they get inside the temple and warn their friends.
