Chapter 11:

Three Ponies Vs A Tree Monster

After the large battle they had with the pirates, The Mane 7 and Spike continued making their way through the grove to try and find this tree Twilight saw in her dreams. Twilight feel herself getting stronger the more they fought these monsters, it was like her strength was building up for something much more big.

The Mane 7 and Spike only kept moving through the grove like usual, they had to take down some more of the swamp monsters that came in their way, jump across more of the water platforms.

But not too long after, they made way through this, they saw the entrance to a large tree that looked to take them to the next area.

Once they've entered this large area, Twilight and Spike had a look of shock as they saw these same jellyfish-like creatures from the Convexity dimension, they were laid out in a path they could hop across to the exit, but it was still shocking to see them here.

The more they made their way through the forest, The Mane 7 and Spike had a few encounters in the Ancient Grove such as facing more swamp monsters, bulldog-like monsters, jumping off more of those huge jellyfish, and they even encountered a few more pirates. Twilight and her friends could see why many folks stayed away from it, this forest was mainly a place with endless monsters and dark pits that could lead one to their deaths, it was worse than the Everfree Forest, because this place feels so corrupted, and so evil, it's really sad to see that places in this world had turned out like this.

After walking through the Ancient Grove, they heard a very strange low moaning sound and stopped to look around the area, finding out where the sound came from.

"What was that sound?" Rarity asked, looking at her friends for some answers about the sound they heard.

"I'm not sure. But I have a feeling we're getting close to something," Twilight said, moving on ahead as Spike and the others followed close behind her.

As they moved on, the Mane 7 and Spike approached a ledge and have finally found what they were looking for. Ahead and below them in a lake of water is a massive tree that looks just like the tree from Twilight's dream, and it has moths fluttering around it, but something was wrong from looking at it.

"Is that your tree, Twilight? It's beautiful. Can we go home now?" Spike asked, thinking their task of finding the tree was a complete success and is ready to go now.

"I have to agree with Spike on this one, Twilight. It's just like how Luna described it," Rainbow Dash said, agreeing with Spike about how the tree looked exactly like what they saw back at the temple.

"I don't know. This feels like the right place, but I'm not sure what I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be doing here," Twilight said with a raised brow, feeling a little confused and unsure about what she's supposed to do with the tree after finding it.

"Well, sugarcube, if you're going to have a conversation with the tree, we'll be sitting over there and give you a few minutes," Applejack said as she, Rarity, Pinkie, Rainbow Dash, and Spike headed over to a spot to hang back and let Twilight talk to the tree.

"Yeah, maybe there's a lily pad you forgot to sing on…," Pinkie said, facing Twilight while following behind Applejack example.

"...Or perhaps a rainbow you could talk too," Rainbow Dash added, also following the others as they head back to give Twilight time to talk to the tree.

"Don't worry, Twilight. Fluttershy and I will keep you company just in case if something goes wrong," Sunset said, assuring Twilight that she and Fluttershy have her back as the yellow Alicorn nodded her head in agreement.

So approaching the ledge and looking at the tree, even though she doesn't know what to do right now, Twilight took a breath and spoke, "Hello? We're here! Give us a sign or something," She said, calling out to see if the Oracle or anypony is in the tree or something so they could get some help.

They did get a sign though that could help them…but not in the way they thought.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, the tree gave out a loud roar, and it shrunk into the water, shaking violently. Spike, Rarity, Pinkie, Rainbow, and Applejack took notice of it and headed on over to see what's happening to it. Coming out of the water, it turned out it wasn't a tree after all for it was a huge tree monster with glowing purple eyes.

It climbed out of the water and risen up, revealing how tall it is, and it lets out a loud menacing roar. Twilight and her friends had an idea on what this means now.

"I think I'm going to pass out. Good luck fighting this thing," Spike said to the seven Alicorns before he literally passed out and fainted to the ground. Seeing this is more of a job for his sister and her friends.

"We'll take Spike further away from here so he can be safe," Rarity said, picking up Spike with her magic and placing him on her back as she, Applejack, Pinkie, and Rainbow Dash head off to keep Spike safe and out from harm's ways.

"Looks like we're going to have to fight this creature ourselves, girls," Twilight said, looking at the tree creature and seeing they will have to fight the monster.

"We're right with you, Twilight," Sunset said in support, standing by her friends' side.

"Let's show this thing what happens when he messes with us," Fluttershy said with a confident smile, ready to fight the creature.

Thumping its chest, the tree monster let's out a loud roar, trying to intimidate them. But Twilight, Sunset, and Fluttershy didn't back down from that.

Sunset struck first by sending a few of her firebombs at the tree monster. The tree monster tries kicking them and even grabbing them but the three Alicorns were quick enough to dodged them.

After Sunset has finished bombarding the creature, the Tree Monster somehow started to spin around sending fireballs around the lake. Twilight was next, and she used her magic on the creature which is proven to be very effective. And using her Alicorn Time, Twilight was able to slow the monster down so she can strike him before it attacks back.

Having about enough of the bombardments, The Tree Monster shook all the magic and fire off of himself and started banging his chest in irritations. Then he attempted to kick the three ponies, but they dodged out of the way and jumped from ledge to ledge while avoiding the monster's fists that slammed afterward.

On the last ledge, Twilight was dangling at first, but with help from Sunset and Fluttershy pulling her up, she climbs back up, and they jumped out of the way of their enemy's fist that slammed onto the ledge.

Twilight, Sunset, and Fluttershy ran a little and stopped as they looked at the Tree Monster, thumping its chest again about ready to finish them once and for all.

Seeing they're going to need something to distract the monster, Fluttershy looked around for something to help them until she looked ahead and noticed something as she approached what seem to look like a bunch of leaves on the ground.

"Shoo! Shoo! Go on, all of you! Move!" Fluttershy shouted, making what look leaves are actually big butterflies as they flew into the air and started fluttering around the Tree Monster, pestering and distracting the monster as he lets out a roar in irritation.

Using her Nature Magic, Fluttershy made some long vines appeared out of the ground as Twilight took one and ran to Sunset with the vine in tow while dodging the Tree Monster's hand.

"Sunset! Catch!" Twilight shouted, tossing the vine to Sunset as the fiery Alicorn caught the vine and flew down to the creatures' legs as she started flying around them with the vine wrapping around them.

Fluttershy came flying towards the monster with her vine as the butterflies flew away, and she wrapped the vine around the animals' jaws. And when the tree monster opened his jaws, Fluttershy pulled the vine, making the monster close his mouth shut.

Twilight manages to dodge the creature's foot as it stomps on the ground near her. Next, Sunset dodges the Tree Monster's hands and began flying around its back wrapping it with the vine in tow.

While all was happening, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, and Pinkie were watching the whole battle seeing how it progresses as their friends kept tangling the monster up in vines.

"Over the hole, through the valley, one more loop," Pinkie said, making different gestures with her hooves while watching the battle.

Seeing the monster is completely tied up at the moment, Fluttershy flies back to where Twilight and Sunset are, both holding the vine and are ready to defeat the monster.

"Alright, girls. Heave!" Fluttershy said, landing next to her friends and grabbing the vine with her mouth.

Together, with all their strength, Twilight Fluttershy, and Sunset heaved the vine as hard as they possibly can and tightening the vines, the Tree Monster can no longer feel its legs and began to collapse on its knees until finally, unable to continue the fight, the tree monster finds itself falling into the water with a big splash of defeat.

The battle was won once again and Twilight, Fluttershy, and Sunset reigned victorious.

"Better luck next time, Timber," Fluttershy said to the defeated creature, knowing the Tree Monster was just trying to defend himself the best way he can.
