Chapter 13:
Prisoners And An Old Friend
After being captured by the Pirates, Twilight and her friends have found themselves prisoners of their enemies and kidnappers, for they were thrown into a cell to await being selected for this tournament they're forced to fight in.
Twilight and the others are pacing around, trying to think of a way to get themselves out of the ship, while Spike is busy singing a song.
"Swing low sweet chariot. Coming for to carry me home….Wawawawawa," Spike sang, using his hands to make it look like he was playing a harmonica.
"Spike, must you do that?" Twilight asked, getting rather annoyed by Spike's singing.
"Yeah, we're trying to think of a way to get out of here," Rainbow Dash added in the same tone, while looking for a way out.
"Well, maybe I do must I do that! And you know, it just might be crazy enough to work," Spike said, thinking that singing might be the only thing to get them out of their cell so they can go home.
"It's a worth a shot," Pinkie said as she clears her throat and then began singing, "Cus I'm all alone. There's nopony here beside me. My problems have all gone. There's nopony to derive meeeee…,".
While Pinkie Pie was singing, the others were now getting more annoyed than ever. Not only is singing not the answer, but it's also distracting them from forming their escape plans too. Even Twilight was getting annoyed as she shook her head and headed to bars to get some peace and quiet to think of an escape plan.
"But you gotta have friends…," Pinkie kept singing, but before she could even finish, her mouth was suddenly plugged up by Fluttershy's hoof.
"Pinkie, please stop singing," Fluttershy said, getting really irritated and seeing that singing is getting them nowhere.
"Yes, please, darling. Some of us are trying to think of an escape plan," Rarity agreed, plopping to the floor and holding her temple in annoyance.
Pinkie just sighed in defeat.
Meanwhile, Twilight arrives at the bars of the cells and looks out into the halls of the ship. Then Twilight saw somepony walking by their cell. She was a pale light grayish heliotrope-colored Unicorn mare and her mane and tail were a moderate purple color with lighter purple and pale light grayish aquamarine streaks, and her cutie mark was a purple and white star with two-toned blue glimmering streams.
"Starlight!" Twilight called out to the Unicorn, recognizing her with a hint of excitement in her voice.
"Twilight? Is that really you? What are you doing here?" Starlight asked in the same tone, happy to see her old friend again too. And on the same ship.
"Yes, it's me. The others are here with me too. Where are we? Can you get us out?" Twilight asked, wondering if Starlight could get them out of the cell so they could escape the ship.
Starlight looked around to make sure they were alone and nobody was eavesdropping before leaning forward and spoke in a whisper, "You and your friends are on Skabbs Ship and are likely be made to compete in the arena fights, like the other prisoners,".
"I don't like the sound of that," Fluttershy said, getting very nervous and scared about being in an arena fight to battle the other prisoners.
"And it keeps getting worse. I, too, am taken prisoner as well as the ponies from my village. But we were too frail to make for worthwhile entertainment. So we were made to serve grog to these Skavengers," Starlight explained, giving more information to the Mane 7 and Spike.
"We need to stop this once and for all," Sunset declared, wanting to stop all of this madness before it's too late.
"I agree. Starlight, you have to get us out," Twilight ordered, facing Starlight.
"Shhhh! We'll talk later. Someone's coming," Starlight said, sensing someone is coming their way as she began to make her leave.
After Starlight left, the large captain from earlier, came by and approached the cell where the Mane 7 and Spike were being held in as the seven Alicorns all glared at him and his Parrots.
"I trust your living quarters are to your liking?" Skabb, The Orange Parrot asked mockingly, thinking the Mane 7 weren't enjoying their new cell.
"I don't know, some of my roommates could be more fun though," Spike joked, gesturing to Twilight, Rainbow, Sunset, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Applejack as the six mares looked at him quite puzzled and offended.
"I thought I told you to be quiet, lizard. And you Ponies better get ready to fight because it's hurtin' time, baby," The Purple Parrot announced, turning to the Mane 7.
The Captain and his Parrots then left, getting ready to announce the tournaments of the arena. After they left, Twilight and her friends turned to each other as Spike spoke with annoyance, "I really, I mean more than really hate those birds,".
"You and us both, Spike," Rainbow Dash agreed in the same tone as they see two small Skavenger Pirates approaching their cell, ready to escort them to the arena where they will fight the other prisoners…
