Chapter 16:

Escaping A Burning Ship

After escaping through the opening, The Mane 7 and Spike find themselves back inside the ship. But they also find that the area they are in is filled with Skavengers. But these guys are no match for the Alicorns for they have something they don't…magical elemental powers…and each other.

Using their aerial combat skills and elemental magic powers, Twilight and her friends were able to defeat them with ease without breaking a sweat.

From the fire magic of Sunset Shimmer to the Magic of Twilight Sparkle, and using more and more of their aerial combat skills, including the new ones that Twilight has learned to use in the Dream Realms, they even managed to kick a Skavenger right at the crates, opening up a path for them to use to escape the ship.

After their encounters with the Skavengers, the Mane 7 and Spike flew down to the lower deck and looked down to see a pair of Dreadwings and their riders flying away somewhere. But Twilight and her friends already know where they're heading.

Suddenly Pinkie noticed one of the familiar bounty hunters as she tapped on Twilight's shoulder, "Hey, Twilight. Isn't that the Unicorn who blasted you back at the temple," She asked, gesturing Twilight to the same Unicorn Bounty Hunter from earlier.

"I do not like that Unicorn," Twilight whispered, her eyes narrowed from recognizing the Unicorn from her mark.

Looking ahead, the Mane 7 and Spike saw that they have a few more obstacles in their way.

"Looks like things just got a lot more complicated around these here parts," Applejack said, realizing that things are becoming harder and harder for them by the second and minute that follows.

"Well, good. Because I was afraid that escaping the burning ship would be too easy for us," Spike said, sarcastically.

"Come on, guys. We need to find Starlight and her friends. We don't want to leave them behind on a ship that is under attack," Twilight said, taking the lead as her friends followed behind her to find Starlight and free her friends from their cell.

After having an encounter with more of the Skavengers and defeating them again, The Mane 7 and Spike have found Starlight Glimmer near more of the cells, and they could see some of the ponies from her village were held in. They have to find a way to get them out of there.

"Starlight! The ship's under attack! We need to get off this thing!" Twilight informed, catching Starlight's attention for she looked really afraid of what's happening now and needed to get her folks to safety.

"Twilight! Thank goodness you and your friends are here! My companions are still being held prisoners and these chamber gates are locked! We'll need to find a way to open them," Starlight panicked with worry, seeing that there wasn't a clear way to open the doors right now.

"Okay, Starlight. Just sit tight. Sunset, you, Rarity, Rainbow, and Pinkie stay with her and her friends to make sure no Skavengers come near her or harm her and her friends," Twilight ordered, facing Sunset who nodded in understanding.

"Applejack and Fluttershy, come with me. We'll need to find something to open up these gates," Twilight said, facing Applejack and Fluttershy before she headed off to find a way to open the gates with Applejack and Fluttershy following her in tow.

It didn't take long for the three Alicorns to make it back outside, where they saw cannonballs shooting out the sides of the ship. But carefully timing the moment just right, Twilight, Applejack, and Fluttershy were able to make through, jumping from one ramp to another all while avoiding the cannonballs.

Riding a wooden cage up to the upper deck of the ship, Twilight, Applejack, and Fluttershy had a few encounters with more of those Skavengers. Twilight fought the Skavengers with her magic while Applejack and Fluttershy worked together and pushed some crates against the flames in the walls.

After Twilight defeated the Skavengers and Fluttershy and Applejack have placed all five of the crates against the fiery wall of the ship, not too far from them, a furnace exploded and the wooden cage that they were just riding in came loose and fell down.

All because of that, the chamber gates began to open all around the cells, including the one holding Starlight's followers.

"Looks like they did it," Rarity said, seeing that her friends have succeeded in opening the chamber gates.

Not much later, after they managed to save her friends, the Mane 7 and Spike led them to a nearby rowboat that could lead them out of here.

"Alright, Starlight. You and your friends are safe. Now get as far away from here as you can," Twilight advised while Rainbow Dash was making sure there wasn't anything to harm once they left.

"The coast is clear for them, Twilight," Rainbow Dash said, seeing that the area is clear for Starlight and her friends to head back home.

"Many thanks to you and your friends, Twilight. I hope we can meet again someday. Perhaps maybe under some better circumstances?" Starlight asked with a hopeful look.

Twilight and her friends nodded with a smile, liking the sound of that, "Good luck, Starlight," Twilight said, and soon enough Starlight and her friends finally went sailing off to a safer place, and that made them glad to see them be freed.

"Hey, you know, Starlight just gave me an idea! Why don't we get off the burning boat too?" Spike said, getting an idea about leaving the ship since he doesn't he want to be here anymore.

"I agree, this place is falling apart by the minute. ( Whispering ) Not to mention, this really isn't my favorite place to be in to have fun," Pinkie said, whispering the last part to Rainbow Dash and agreeing to go with Spike's plan.

"Not yet, you guys. Rockhoof and Meadowbrook told me that we must find the Oracle in a place called the White Isles," Twilight said, informing her friends that their work here isn't done yet.

"But, Twilight, how are we supposed to find the Oracle in the White Isles if we don't even know where it is?" Applejack asked with a raised brow, reminding her Alicorn Warrior friend that they don't even know where the White Isles is or how to get there either.

"We're going to need to find a map for directions. And I think I know where we could find it," Twilight replied, which gave her friends the idea of who she was talking about.

"I'm guessing we're heading to the Captain's Quarters, aren't we?" Spike guessed, annoyed with this information Twilight has given them as Twilight nodded her head.

"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go find that map and get out of this burning woodstack," Rainbow Dash encouraged, ready to spring into action as the Mane 7 and Spike make their way through the large ship to find the map they need to find the White Isles…
