Chapter 17:
Battling The Captain - Round One
After helping Starlight free her friends from their cells, and leading them to a rowboat that will take them safely back home, Twilight and her friends now have a new quest to complete, finding the map that will lead them to a place called the White Isle, where they might find the Oracle. And Twilight knows there's only one place where they can find one…The Captain's Quarter.
Knowing how to get there is easy, but getting there, however, isn't easy. The ship was so large, and there were so many different ways through it, it was hard to describe. Most of the ship was on fire at this point, and a lot of the pirates were either dead, trying to flee from it, or were trying to hold onto what's left of it. Twilight and her friends have had a few encounters with more of the Skavengers along the way, but they managed to fend them off with the help of their magic, along with Twilight using her Time Magic and Fury Attacks when needed.
After what felt like hours of fighting they're way through the ship against the pirates and crossing the places including going across the very arena they fought in, which was mostly in ruins by now, to the lower decks of the ship, and the upper levels which, it wasn't long until the Dark Armies came along and bombarded the ship with bombs, creating a hole, which leads to the Captain Quarters that the Mane 7 and Spike were searching for.
Making their way in, The Mane 7 and Spike saw that the Captain's Quarter was really large, there were tons of gold piles around the place, same with dozens of valuable items and relics that were probably stolen, and some maps around the place to lead the pirates too it. But most of this room was already on fire, and it wasn't gonna hold on for much longer.
"Whoa, look at all of this stuff," Twilight said with surprise, looking at how much the Skavengers have horded here.
"I know, this hoofful of treasure makes them even richer than the richest ponies around," Rarity agreed in the same tone.
"Oh sure, take your time girls...It's not like we're about to plummet to our deaths in the heap of a flaming...!" Spike shouted before finding his mouth being zipped up, stopping him from shouting.
"Alright, Spike. You made your point. Let's find the map and get out of here," Rainbow Dash advised, revealing she's the one who zipped Spikes' mouth up with her magic.
"Already found it, guys!" Pinkie called out, standing on the main desk in the center of the room as her friends approached her.
The Mane 7 and Spike looked down at the map and soon saw it was the one they needed, it looked to lead them to White Isle, as well as other important places for the future.
"Alright, we got the map, let's get out of here now and find the White Isle," Twilight said with haste as she quickly took the map and gave it to Spike who rolled it up for later.
But before they could leave, the Captain Of The Skavengers and his parrots arrived on the scene with the Captain carrying the troublesome parrots on his shoulders, and they appeared to look upset about what's happened to their ship.
"Well, if it isn't the scarred Alicorn Warrior Menace and her friends! We hope you ponies weren't… thinking to leave…" Skabb said with anger at seeing them here.
"Yea, we got a score to settle you chumps!" The Purple Parrot mocked which made Spike even more angry seeing them here.
"Hey, who are you calling chumps?" Spike asked, feeling angered and offended from that insult.
"You fool! You!" The Purple Parrot replied, pointing at the young Dragon.
"It is astounding for the amount of trouble you ponies have managed to cause," Skabb insulted which made them both more upset with just hearing it
"Y'all really think we're to blame for this?! You were the ones who capture us in the first place!" Applejack argued, recalling correctly what happened.
"Not to mention you were trying to force us…to fight other prisoners, including our former enemy! You've been doing this for long enough, and I am tired of it!" Fluttershy went next which surprised her friends and Spike with her outburst, but it was a true fact she had to tell them.
"My friends are right, you only brought it upon yourselves, you couldn't just leave it alone, now you're having to pay for it," Twilight countered which made them both more angry.
"You going to let those ponies talk to you like that, doodle-brain?" The Purple Parrot asked, turning to the Captain.
The Captain only gurgled and nodded his head in reply.
"Quiet fool! Fire The Cannon!" The Purple Parrot ordered, ready to get this fight over with.
"Oh boy, I've always wanted to fight the Captain Of The Bad Pirates," Rainbow Dash said, pounding her hooves in anticipation of fighting the captain.
"Spike, hold on to the map and stand back. We'll handle this gurgling nitwit once and for all," Twilight ordered, facing Spike behind her.
"You got it," Spike said, following his order and moved out of the way for the Mane 7 to fight the Captain and his Parrots.
As the fight begins, the Captain shoots his hook at the Mane 7, probably trying to grab one of them, but Twilight and her friends quickly split up and dodged the hook. When the Captain tries again, his hook unfortunately ended up getting stuck in the wooden walls.
"That's not going to hold him for long, you think you could slow this down for us," Rainbow Dash asked, turning to Twilight as she saw this as an opportunity to use her friends' Time Magic.
Using her Time Magic, Twilight was able to make the Captain slow down to a snail pace. Seeing they have one shot at this, the Mane 7 quickly made their way to the Captain and began to melee on him, using their aerial combat skills and their elemental magic on him. But, unfortunately, Twilight noticed her Time Magic is beginning to run out, so she stopped and everything was back to normal speed.
While they were waiting for the Time Magic to recharge fully, Twilight and her friends were able to dodge the Captain's hook again, which ended up getting stuck on the wall for the second time, which didn't basically surprise the Mane 7, especially Pinkie.
"He sure does need to work on his aim," Pinkie commented from seeing the Captain's bad aim.
"You think?" Rainbow Dash asked in the same tone, turning to her Electric friend.
Sensing her Time Magic is fully recharged, Twilight was able to use her Time Magic again, and slowed everything down for her and her friends. Sunset was able to blow some Fire Magic at the Captain and Pinkie was able to zap some electricity at him too, shocking him and the Parrots. Rarity and Fluttershy worked together and melee on the Captain using Water and Nature to wash and tangled the Captain.
When her Time Magic was almost running out, Twilight stopped using it to allow it to recharge quickly and everything went back to normal speed once again. When things went back to normal, the Captain attempt to swing his sword at the Mane 7, but they managed to quickly dodged out of the way, and they even managed to dodge his hook.
When the Captain tried again, his hook got stuck, this time on a large metal chain.
"Is your Time Magic fully charged yet, Sugarcube?" Applejack asked, hoping Twilight's Time Magic is fully charged enough so they can defeat the Captain.
And Applejack got her answer when Twilight used her Time Magic again, showing that it's fully charged, and the Mane 7 charged at the Captain, bombarding him with their elemental magic powers, at least until the Time Magic was beginning to run out again, and Twilight stopped, causing things to go back to normal speed.
The Captain hopped up on one of his feet and his gun-like peg leg began shooting cannonballs at Twilight and her friends, but the seven Alicorns were quick enough to dodge them.
"Where the hay did he got those from?" Rainbow Dash asked, surprised to see the Captain shoot some cannons at them from his peg cannon.
The Mane 7 kept dodging the cannons until Twilight's Time Magic was fully charged, and she used it again, slowing the Captain down once more and giving them the advantage to attack him. Using their magic together, they were able to quickly bombard him before he can even use his cannonballs again and attacked him with kicks, zaps, tail swipes, and more.
But like the last three times, Twilight's Time Magic was running out again, causing the tables to turn again and the Mane 7 find themselves dodging the Captain's attacks such as his cannonballs and his pirate gun, which destroyed the desk that Spike was hiding behind as the young Dragon flew somewhere else to hide.
The Captain kept on firing until his Pirate gun for some reason became jammed. With her Time Magic fully charged, Twilight used it again and she and her friends attacked the vulnerable captain, using every move they got on him. But sadly, it didn't last long this time, and everything was back to normal again like last time.
Regrouping, Twilight and her friends were still able to dodge the Captain's cannons until her Time Magic was fully charge once more.
"We almost got him, girls. We just need to hold him off a little bit longer," Twilight said, seeing that they're almost close to defeating the Captain as she readies herself and her friends followed her example.
By the time the Captain's gun was jammed again, the Mane 7 charged right at him with their battle cry together, as they neared him, Twilight used her Time Magic to slow the Captain down. And one by one, the Mane 7 each used their elemental magic on the Captain, from Water to Nature, Electricity to Air, Earth to Air, and Magic.
When Twilight's Time Magic almost ran out, the Captain was already weakened and knocked down, but he got back right up as the Mane 7 and Spike glared at them, ready to finish the fight.
Seeing that he was no match for them, the Captain turned around, facing the window, and used his pirate gun to point and shoot at the window, making an exit for them.
"This is where we part ways," Skabb announced.
"So long, CHUMPS!" The Purple Parrot said next.
And like that, the Captain and his parrots make their leave and exit from the room, and they did it by…floating?
"What in the name of Equestria?" Applejack asked, being surprised and confused about how the Captain was able to float like that.
"How's that even possible?" Sunset asked in the same tone.
"Well, we can't just let them get away. We're going after them, right?" Spike asked, doing some shadow-boxing and readying himself to go after them.
The Mane 7 turned to Spike with a raised brow, feeling quite surprise to hear that coming from him, which Spike took notice of and realized what he just said out loud.
"Wait, did I just say that out loud?" Spike questioned, covering his mouth from saying that.
"Yeah, pretty much, Spike," Pinkie replied, making Spike regret his words once again.
"Come on, we have to follow them and stop them once and for all," Twilight said as she and her friends began to head out to go after the troublesome Pirates, and they flew out of the broken window.
Spike was about to follow them until suddenly something caught his eye, making him pause in his tracks as he looked down at the pile of treasure and saw something shiny and red…
