Blueeyeddevil06, thank you for being my awesome beta!

In the early morning hours, Usagi lay there, held tightly in Mamoru's embrace as he slept. She was certain she'd never been so happy in her existence. She then quietly chuckled to herself as she thought of the look on Vlad's face when he would say, "I told you so." He was right, after all; it was fantastic finding her destined love. She didn't mind the idea anymore of loving like a vampire.

She relaxed and took stock of everything that had happened yesterday. It had been a remarkable one for her, that was for sure. Her whole goal in talking with him was to begin explaining what she was and not leave him entirely overwhelmed by the life-changing news. That was her best-case scenario.

Her whole body tingled as she thought about her attempt to leave before too much was said. The moment she looked into his eyes after he slammed the door had brought her such an erotic thrill. That one look left her wet and aching for him. Then the possessiveness and the power he kissed her with sent her soaring to new heights. She felt truly alive for the first time in about four hundred and forty-odd years.

He loved her. She knew he never said those exact words, but a man like Mamoru would struggle with them, and she didn't care. She knew she had his heart. He couldn't let her go, not even in his sleep—this from a man who only ever slept alone.

She grew up with a father who always used the right words and used them to trap people too. Very young, and a long time ago, she learned words that mean nothing. Sure, they were nice, but they couldn't be relied upon. Actions. That was what she needed, and his actions screamed his love for her.

She thought of all the things she was already coming to love about him, and one brought happy tears to her eyes. He was brilliant and nothing like Drucilla. He used his brain first before letting himself get involved with her. She knew, actually loved, that he snapped and couldn't let her walk away, but that wasn't despite his better judgment. She realized, from what she knew of him, that it was probably a decision made with his brain, and then he just let go and let his emotions take over—feelings he'd never had or shown to anyone else.

She vowed to herself to never hurt him. His admission about the idea of her getting jealous, exciting him, told her something else. She would be very abrupt and dismissive of other men flirting with her. She knew from discussions with Motoki that he wasn't a flirt and always shot the women down. She would do the same thing, just a little less politely. The idea of making him feel insecure for a second made her feel physically ill—a feeling she hadn't had in a very long time. She felt good about her decision. She planned to build him up and make him as confident as he pretended to be. The raw hurt in his tone when he talked about being alone as a child had devastated her.

Usagi next reflected on how she really yearned to meet Yamato. Artemis had spoken highly of him, and now Mamoru did too. She didn't mistake his attempt at nonchalance when he talked about his mentor. He highly valued his insight, and he was the closest thing to a parental figure he had. That and the man already accepted her, a known killer and a vampire, sight unseen based on Mamoru's discussion with him. It showed her he highly valued Mamoru too. It made her like him already.

She let out a happy sigh as she thought about how good her life was. Sure, Mamoru didn't realize he would become a vampire yet, but the practical part of him would probably appreciate the extra study time to become a doctor since he wouldn't need sleep. She knew deep down in her gut she would never force him, and the prophecy said he would become one. That could only mean one thing; he chooses to become a vampire, like her. She loved the idea of it being his choice. She wasn't ever given one.

She thought back to that time in Bulgaria when Vlad told her there was a fortune in gold hidden away. She smiled. Mamoru was rich, but she was wealthy beyond belief. It took her four months, but she found the gold her father had sold her and her virginity for. It felt right that it was hers now. She didn't have a mind for math and recoiled even thinking about learning it, but she was good at figuring out who was good at it. That and she could compel them to be trustworthy. She was a very wealthy woman. Technically, it was all in the name of LLCs and the like. She didn't want to get the notice of being an heiress or of not dying and passing it on.

A fund was already set up to improve the orphanage Mamoru was raised in. It had a board of advisors, and that particularly pleased her. It wasn't full of executives but other successful people who had been in an orphanage or foster care. She wanted people making the decisions who cared about the children and understood them on a fundamental level. The only reason it didn't include Mamoru was that she thought that would come off as her trying to gain or even buy his favor. That wasn't in her.

Yes, even now, at her happiest, she knew trouble was coming. She assumed the breaking stone of the prophecy was either Diamond, Emerald, Sapphire, or some combination of them. She was almost one hundred percent sure Diamond had to be at least a good portion of it. He was a massive threat to the supernatural. He was drawing the notice of humans, which was a big no-no to them.

Then there were the rocks. Rei was hurting over Jadeite, and that bothered Usagi. She understood how deep love could run. It also left her massively impressed with the priestess. Her convictions were so strong. She didn't even deny her own feelings. She had fully confronted them and acknowledged them. But to put what was right over her own heart was something Usagi had rarely ever seen. It was that demonstration of Rei's character that made Usagi love her already.

Yes, she could firmly say, she has a wonderful life right now.

There was also the issue of the rival yakuza war brewing. It wasn't as much a threat to her, but it was where Artemis and Luna, now married, would be the most at risk. That really worried her. Luna smelled differently the last couple of days. Usagi knew that scent; she was pregnant. Just newly pregnant, but she was, and Usagi already loved the child they didn't know Luna carried.

She felt Mamoru shift and pull her closer to him. He then opened his eyes and kissed her cheek. "You're up."

She brushed her fingers over his bicep and nodded, "I don't need sleep like you do. I'm lying here thinking how happy I am."

With her vampire vision, she saw him blush. "Sorry, I didn't think…"

She kissed his neck and said, "this is where I want to be–here in your arms. If you knew how much I need this, you wouldn't say that."

"This?"

She smiled and breathed in his intoxicating scent. "I fought the idea of loving anyone as much as I love you. I was a fool. I was laying here basking in the depth of your feelings for me, how you cling to me even while sleeping. I've been around four hundred and seventy years odd years and this, right here, is the happiest I've ever been.

"I just realized yesterday that Motoki thinks I'm a great best friend. That was weird for me." He then rushed on because she looked confused over the change in subject. "That I already matter this much to you. That I'm your best day… It's overwhelming."

She laughed out loud at that, hard. "I told you all those supernatural things while trying not to overwhelm you, and my love for you was what finally did it?" She smiled when he laughed along with her.

"I assume some things are easier or maybe less normal for my brain to process. Being good enough or loved is a struggle for me. The supernatural, while I believe it, still feels less…threatening."

"You crave love."

He nodded and held her tighter. "Yes. But still, I guarded myself against it. Then there was you."

"Mamoru?"

"Yes?"

She spread her legs and huskily whispered, "make love to me."
