Blueeyeeddevil06, thank you for being my amazing Beta!

Mamoru was standing next to the chair Usagi was sitting in, and for the first time in his life, he was having a hard time not fidgeting. He wanted to shield her from the world and leave town. No matter how much he believed her about her vampire powers, it didn't feel true.

He didn't have a frame of reference for what she was, and he couldn't research vampires. He tried for hours and couldn't find a single, helpful thing. Sure, there were vampire cults that worshiped them and wanted to become them, but from everything he could read, none of them actually knew anything real.

There was nothing out there that his mind could get a grasp on. While Usagi answered every question he asked, her mind worked differently than his and her details weren't as focused as he would have liked. She said things like "strong" when he wanted it in measurements.

He looked over at Rei and Makoto, they were both sitting like statues, watching Usagi. It amused him that even he could figure out that they were both looking to her for guidance.

Usagi drew his complete attention when she snickered at him. "Really, Mamoru, you look like a bodyguard there."

He blurted out, "how strong is strong? I don't know what that means!"

Makoto spoke up. "I tried to gently shove a guy when I first became a vampire, and he flew back ten feet and ended up with a cracked skull. I almost killed him. And that's me. I'm not a vampire with Usagi's strength."

"But they are four adult male werewolves!" He said in exasperation.

Usagi sighed, "I don't like to talk about killing."

"What?" Mamoru asked, confused by her seeming non-sequitur.

"I've killed whole packs by myself before. I only do that when they get into human sacrifices or something equally icky. But four adult males, it would be a breeze. They are strong, yes. I'm just so much stronger. It's like…" Mamoru chuckled; he knew it wasn't going to be a unit of measurement but a metaphor. "…a shark going against a fish." He realized that while he loved her completely, he was going to have a hard time communicating with her from time to time.

There was a knock on his door and he knew it was time—he tensed.

"I'm strong," Usagi objected.

He shrugged and went to open the door. "You matter to me too much. I'm the one who isn't strong enough to handle the danger against you."

Then he opened the door and saw the four werewolves and a small blue haired woman. "Who's she?" he asked, pointing at the woman, aggravated.

"Ami," Zoisite said at the same time Usagi said, "A vampire," She was suddenly standing by Mamoru. "That wasn't worded nicely," she said, admonishing Mamoru lightly.

He rolled his eyes, "so? We didn't know she was coming." And Mamoru knew that meant a vampire was now in the mix that he didn't trust.

Mamoru relented and invited them in, and as he did, Usagi gasped after closing the door. "You're mated to Zoisite!" She said to Ami.

As everyone looked at her in confusion, Kunzite asked, "how do you know that?!"

Usagi pointed at her shoulder, "she has a mated mark on her, and Zoisite was the one to say her name. I know a lot about werewolf culture."

"You can see her mark?" Zoisite was astounded.

She wiggled her fingers and said, "I'm really strong."

"I didn't think vampires could see them."

"I'm the only one I know of that can see them." Usagi cocked her head and said, "there are…ways to…" She struggled with what she should say in the group. She trusted them enough to work with them, but she had so much knowledge. She knew things even Dracula himself didn't know, and she knew he didn't share everything with her. It wasn't that she didn't trust him, he just insisted that to live as a vampire meant that you didn't tell anyone except your fated love all your secrets. She held her tongue more because she didn't want to damage his respect for her.

She finished with, "I acquired the power a long time ago." The truth was that there were blood rituals that could be done by a witch of Rei's power. They were hard and incredibly involved, but she could do them.

Usagi then said, "let's head into the main sitting area."

Jadeite took one look at Rei and he was by her side gazing at her adoringly. "We're getting out. Please go out on a date with me."

Kunzite laughed and said, "please do, we're all getting out so we don't cock block him."

Jadeite shot him a glare and snarled. "Don't talk about her like she's some booty call!"

Nephrite noticed nothing except the brunette goddess sitting there. He was entranced by her. He swallowed hard and wondered how he could get up the guts to ask her out. "Wanna spar, beautiful?" Was out of his mouth before he realized how completely dumb that sounded.

His blood pumped as she raked her eyes over his body from head to toe. "I would kick your ass—so hard."

And damn, if that didn't excite him and send his blood pumping harder. "You can do anything with my ass you'd like!"

Jadeite broke in and said, "Nephrite, you suck at this." He then turned to Rei, "is that a yes to the respectful date where I will not try to get in your pants?" By the end, he was glaring at Nephrite.

"No," Rei said.

Jadeite's head whipped back to look at her and brokenly he said, "no?"

Rei replied, "It would be yes to a date in which you do try to get in my pants."

He swallowed hard and his gaze locked on her. "Friday?! Please say yes."

"Yes." She then smirked, "that doesn't mean you will get in my pants though. I just permit you to try."

Rei's vision suddenly blurred and she shot to her feet unsteadily. She held out her hands for better balance and then brought one gently to her forehead. Jadeite was looking at her in worry as he was suddenly supporting her body weight.

She shifted out of Jadeite's arms and stood steadily on her own two feet. She waved off concern then, "I'm okay. It's just a warning of a potential vision. It's trying to push through. I'll consult the Great Fire afterwards."

"That's happened before?" The words were out of Usagi's mouth before Jadeite could ask.

"Never that powerfully, but I'm sure of what it is. I felt the magic tingling at the base of my neck," Rei replied.

Zoisite scoffed, "you told us she was a witch, Jadeite, you didn't tell us how powerful she was. That's amazing."

"She's interesting, smart, and smoking hot. What do I care about how powerful she is?" Jadeite asked.

They did get down to business then. They confirmed what Usagi already strongly suspected. They wanted out and were willing to put their lives at risk to do just that.

Mamoru eyed them all wearily the whole time. He had known them as humans for so long, and to have gotten it so wrong, that shook his confidence in his ability to read situations.

Before Nephrite left, he felt Makoto slip something in his pocket. He looked at her intently and asked, "what was that?"

"The business card for the dojo I go to. Meet me there at four tomorrow," she replied.

Nephrite didn't care that he was going to have to cancel a meeting with his general contractor tomorrow. He was planning to add additional security measures to his home now that they were going against Diamond. He would do his best to reschedule for earlier. He wouldn't miss time getting to spar with her.
