Blueeyeddevil06, thank you for being my beta!

Minako was alone in her apartment in the heart of London, weeping. The day had been rough. Everyone in the police station woke to news of the terror attack in Tokyo. With the eight-hour time difference, it happened while they slept. She was currently on nine different group text chains, and the alerts were still coming in constantly.

It didn't matter that it was a whole other country and that the police didn't even speak the same language. It was by far the largest attack on the police in the world, and every foreign and national police station was reaching out and trying to offer help and condolences. Police stations around the world, despite strict dress policies, allowed Japanese flag pins to be used to remember the fallen.

She cast her eyes around her small but luxurious apartment. The people she hired to pack would soon be there and she was glad. She didn't have the energy for anything right now.

The London police station, besides sending other things, was sending her too. She spoke flawless Japanese, and they wanted to send the best vampire on the force. It felt to them like the least they could do.

She looked across the city and sighed out, fogging the glass in front of her. She was glad to be going to Japan, it was just going to be heartbreaking to see.

Still, Beryl was on her way there and she "remembered her past life". Mina simply couldn't figure out what that meant.

Mamoru took one look at the penthouse and said, "just how much money do you have?"

Usagi scoffed, "I bought the building. It ensured I had access to all the cameras. Luna, I'll give that to you."

"What!?" He asked in surprise.

"Oh, and all the doormen are all former special forces. I gave the ones who worked here before all huge bonuses. Even the young ones were able to retire. Again, Luna, you will have access, and they will know they report to you."

Artemis grumbled, "gee, thanks, Usagi. You get that I married a younger woman? You just gave her access to hot, heavily muscled men."

Luna rolled her eyes, "you're an idiot, but a sweet idiot."

Meanwhile, Usagi saw Ami look down at her phone and frown. "What's the number now?"

"There was…" she sighed. "Being close to a police station lends a sense of security."

A tear leaked down Usagi's cheek. She asked, "daycare or nursing home?"

"Both, it was handy for the police for their children and in their old age to be near where all the action was."

"To quote Dr. Who, 'Demons run when a good man goes to war.' When a vampire does, demons die like dogs." Usagi was beyond angry.

Mamoru looked at her with worry on his face. "What are you going to do?"

"I'm going to end this. And you, Luna, Artemis, and Yamato are going to prove that it's Diamond behind this. Then I'm going old-school. I'm going to put his head on a stake outside of the charred police station and shove the USB evidence up his nose!"

She tossed Luna a cell phone, "it's encrypted and it's yours. Call in Makoto, Rei, and the Stones. Diamond dies now!"

Mamoru asked, "can you at least pretend you're going to be careful?"

She looked at him and smiled, "darling, the last time I was this mad, I killed sixteen adult werewolves all by myself –before breakfast."

She turned for the elevator. "Let's go, Ami. It's time to kill an immortal, a witch, and a vampire. This should be fun."

Usagi met with them all in the park. It was abandoned. With so many on the police force killed, everyone was home, terrified.

Kunzite walked right up to Usagi, "Sapphire knows we're working against Diamond."

She shrugged, "they all die now! Who cares? He won't be able to do anything with that information."

"We're going now?!" Kunzite asked in shock.

Ami said, "he blew up a daycare and a nursing home along with the people who protect this city. She's…livid."

Rei cracked her knuckles, "well, I was told to kick some ass by Mars. Looks like I get to do that now."

Jadeite paled, "you Vision Walked?" He then quickly held up his hands in surrender. "No judgment!"

That got her to laugh. "No, actually, he came and sat down beside me while I was in front of the Great Fire."

Ami whispered, "my life is so cool." Makoto laughed and agreed.

Usagi turned to Makoto then, "Yamato?"

"Safe and working on research at the penthouse."

"Penthouse?" Nephrite asked.

Usagi replied, "killing first, then updates. This is done tonight. I've been pushed too far. That said, you have a choice. Come with me or help research." They all followed her.

They arrived at the secured front door of Diamond's home. Usagi looked over her shoulder at Rei, "you get to play the big bad wolf and blow the door in."

Rei smiled and rolled her shoulders. She then raised her hands and shot an enormous fireball out, decimating the front half of the house. "Oops. Guess I didn't know my own strength."

With his eyes locked on Rei, Jadeite said, "Zoisite, we need to meet so you can explain to me how awesome my mate is."

Suddenly, Sapphire was in front of them, smiling and saying, "you're sooner than I anticipated–fascinating." He then turned like a flash and ripped the head off of a gunman coming for them.

"What the hell!?" Nephrite asked.

"Rip his heart out of his chest and coat it in ashes," Sapphire glanced at the burning wall. "You should be able to find some."

"Who?" Kunzite asked.

Sapphire rolled his eyes, "my brother Diamond. He had my sister put me under a spell, and I can't disobey him. I can figure out ways around his commands, however. I must step out of this battle because he can use me against you. Please, kill that sick fucker." He then bowed and disappeared.

Usagi pointed behind her where Sapphire exited from. "That's weird, right?"

Kunzite cracked his neck. "Incoming. We'll report on more weird things from him later."

Emerald was screeching and coming at them. She screamed out an attack spell, and Rei held up her hands, easily blocking her attack. "Zoisite," Rei said with a shaky voice, "when you fill Jadeite in on how powerful I am, can you fill me in too?" She then deflected the next attack from Emerald.

Rei then remembered Mars telling her to kick some ass, and she grinned. "Dumb bitch, you helped kill all those people."

She then launched a fire attack, not holding back. When the smoke cleared, she winced. "I'm going to puke!" All that was left of Emerald was a pile of charred bone and the smell of burnt flesh.

Kunzite cocked his head, "yes, but…effective. And hey, if we want to be assholes, we can use the ashes from her body to kill Diamond."

Usagi strode forward, "let's be assholes then."

Diamond was cowering in his panic room. He saw on the security feed that his brother betrayed him, and Emerald was charcoal. His witch, the one who helped keep him immortal, was dead, and he was terrified. After all, even if he got away, he would age.

Usagi was done with cat and mouse. She was pissed that everything was going quickly. Sapphire, whatever that was, was a miscalculation. He not only wasn't in the fight, but he also told them how to beat Diamond.

She realized that she had six hundred years of prophecy, and she bungled it all up, and all those people died. Now it was clear. There was another enemy coming. One that would be a hard battle. Diamond's death symbolized the change of her and Mamoru; he was not the big battle that she knew was coming. She wanted to scream and cry over how wrong she was. She held back from attacking him before, believing they all needed to grow and trust her first so that they could all survive the confrontation.

She stood in front of the panic room, "Ami, open sesame."

Ami laughed, pulled out her cellphone, attached an odd wire to it, and plugged it into the control panel. "How did you know I had this?" she asked and pushed a button, the control panel flashed green.

Usagi shrugged, "after those pills you invented, I assume you have everything."

"Ha!" Zoisite yelled, "I get you for five hours!"

Ami looked bashful and nodded, "she knows Dracula. He's impressed too, and wants some. You can have the whole night."

The doors of the room wooshed open, and Usagi zipped forward to plunge her hand through Diamond's chest and grab his heart. She cocked her head and said, "I hate myself for letting you live so long. You're pathetic!" She then ripped his heart out and felt it beat a few times in her hand before it stopped.

She turned, scowling, and tossed Kunzite the bloody heart. "Roll it in Emerald's ashes." She then turned and yanked Diamond's head off and gave it to Makoto. "Put this on a spike in front of the station." And then she was gone in a flash.

Rei yanked out her phone as Kunzite and the other werewolves went to finish Diamond off completely, she called Mamoru. "It was a cakewalk. Find Usagi! She's hurting and crying. She thought it would be harder, and I just know that she's blaming herself for the bombing."

"Where would she go!?" he asked in desperation.

Rei yelled, "fucking Mars, get down here!"

"You called–rudely, I might add," he said, standing beside her with his arms crossed.

"You could have warned me he was easy to kill! All those people died!" She shook her head. "That's later. Where is Usagi!?"

He closed his eyes in concentration and said, "In the apartment where she found out she was loved."

She said to Mamoru, "did you hear that?"

"I'm on my way!"

He hung up the phone without saying goodbye and got on the elevator, and smashing the button for the floor his apartment was on. He paced the compartment until the door dinged, and he dashed off and ran down the hall. "Fuck it!" It dawned on him too late that someone had gotten on the elevator. He was on the wrong floor.

He turned and skipped the elevator, ran down two flights of stairs, and then down the hall and opened the door. He knew she wouldn't bother with the lock. She's a vampire and in no danger from an intruder. He found her crying in his room.

Tears rushed to his eyes. The woman he adored looked utterly broken. "Usagi…" He moved and pulled her into his arms and held her tightly.

"It wasn't him. The big battle. It wasn't him. He was a part of this but not…I thought it was him."

"What did you think he was?" he asked.

"A horrid evil that we save the world from." She trembled. "There is someone out there worse than him." She then choked out a sob, "and I miscalculated so badly. He could have been stopped before all those people died. I killed them."

"No, you didn't," he said firmly. "That was on him!"

"He's a monster, and I've spent centuries stopping the bad and protecting the weak. I've never failed until now. And it's because I failed to act, thinking I was so smart and that I understood what was going on. I would never have waited this long to go after the evil. I let those people die."

He cupped her cheek and made her look at him. "No! This isn't on you. You're powerful but not all-knowing. If you were, you would have killed him before. You would never have let this happen. That is the woman I love. You didn't do anything wrong." He kissed her hard on the lips.

He then gave her a wry smile. "I'm asking you to kill me, Usagi. I will never let you take this on by yourself again. We are a team. Please make me your equal."

During a lull in the crowd that people doing the all-night vigil couldn't remember and during a blip on the security feeds for a ten-block radius, Diamond's head appeared on a spike. At first, there were gasps of horror. And then, a neighboring police chief came out five minutes after the USB had been retrieved and spoke to the world in front of countless mics and cameras. "We don't condone acts of violence or vigilantes." He then paused, leaned forward, and said, "thank you. Whoever you are. Thank you for killing the monster wh is responsible for this unconscionable terror attack that happened here."

The vigil turned into a celebration.

I couldn't help myself. I had to have him turn out of love and devotion rather than fear.
