Blueeyeddevil06, thank you for being my beta!

They stood in the penthouse master suite looking over the city that night. Mamoru was standing behind Usagi and had her wrapped in his tight embrace.

She heard him sigh and felt him shake his head a bit. "You okay?" She asked.

"It's all so new. It's quieter in this penthouse; the noises are more muffled. But the one in my head is still loud."

She turned and smiled at him, and his hands went to her rear and grabbed her firm butt. "You don't have to quiet that voice. Not for me."

"Yes. I do. It wanted to throw everyone out of the penthouse today. I wanted you all to myself. I didn't want them around you."

She caressed his cheek. "You mean so we could have sex?"

"No, because you need to be mine."

She was confused. "I am. Completely, my blood, my power, my body, my eternity. It's all yours already."

He groaned. "It's getting loud, Usa. My head—it hurts."

She kissed his chin tenderly. "Then take me. I'm yours completely. Don't fight it right now. We are all alone—you have me to yourself."

"It's not enough," he said wildly. He grabbed her up forcefully and a thrill ran through her whole body. She loved feeling his power.

He pressed her to the bed and showed his fangs, and she grew wet as he leered at her. "Mine!" He said and then bit her shoulder hard. He growled in contentment then.

When he pulled back, he smiled and caressed her neck. "So much better. Mine!"

She was out of the bed, panicking and looking at her neck in the mirror. "No, no, no, no!" She yelled in desperation.

He stalked toward her. "Yes! Mine! Say. It."

"Yours," she said, crying. "Yours."

She grabbed her cell phone and started calling Dracula. When he didn't answer, she called again. Mamoru had grown quiet. He started to register and smell her fear.

"Dammit, pick up!" She kept calling.

"What?" Dracula said, pissed. "Lucy wants to kill me, we are in bed together."

"Mamoru marked me. I have a mated werewolf mark. He doesn't remember his parents! He doesn't know…" She was shaking. "Help. What should I do?"

"Rei, the witch. Go to her. Lucy is already starting on research," he said, panicking too.

Mamoru heard the whole conversation with his enhanced hearing. When she hung up and texted everyone to get to the Shrine right now, he was asking. "What's happening?"

"If I had known you had some werewolf in your family history, I would have never turned you." She was trembling like a leaf. "I can't lose you. It will destroy me. I won't. I can't. I can't be the reason you die."

She then wrapped her arms around him, and they were quickly at the Shrine. Rei was there as well as many of the others. They were all arriving quickly.

Usagi said, "Rei, help, please. He had latent werewolf blood in his family line. Enough that he's becoming a hybrid. It can't…it's going to kill him. He's going to die. What? How? Can I live?" She cried. "Use a spell, take my life and save his life. Without him, I'm dead anyway."

Rei instantly spun and walked towards the Great Fire with Zoisite trailing her. He sat and watched as it looked like she died, and he was waiting, terrified. This time he was terrified for Mamoru.

Usagi was near hysterical. She was crying and shaking. Her cell phone rang, and it was Dracula. Kunzite answered for her. "She's a wreck,'' Kunzite said. "What do we do?"

Dracula sighed over the phone, "she can't help it. She is feeling him die. I'm impressed that she can function at all. Lucy is coming up blank. I'm hoping Rei lives up to the hype. No one has ever survived this. And I promise you, Usagi won't survive his death either."

Kunzite hung up on him. "Well, that's not helpful."

Mamoru was quiet, staring at Usagi as she fell apart. "I'm not feeling pain now."

"No, she is," Jadeite said, pointing to Usagi. "It's what he meant when he said she was feeling you die."

Kunzite moved and reached out for Usagi and froze. "I can't do it." He then looked at Makoto and pleaded, "can you snap her neck? She'll be okay. She won't feel the pain for a while." Makoto nodded, and everyone cringed at the sound of her neck breaking.

Mamoru was still through it all, lost in his deep sense of grief. He felt crippled by watching her suffer. And his heart felt like it was bleeding, knowing he was killing them both.

Rei was standing before Mars and quickly explaining the problem. She was crying and begging for help.

"I will tell you what I have told every other witch to come to me. I have this," he said, holding up a shimmering golden crystal.

"But I thought they all died before!" She was so confused.

"They did. The power it takes to do what needs to be done is incredible. Just because there is a solution doesn't mean it's possible."

He handed her the golden crystal and touched her forehead. "Here is the knowledge on what to do."

"What? I thought you said…"

"You are the first and the strongest. Save him, my child. Then come to me later when there is more time, and I will explain."

Rei startled the heck out of Zoisite when she shot to her feet, holding something shiny, and dashed from the room. He followed, and they found an ashen-looking Mamoru lying on the ground with an unconscious Usagi.

Rei was already drawing on her power and her knowledge when she got to Mamoru and melted the golden crystal into his whole being. His body shimmered and glowed, and then it seemed to settle inside of him.

Everyone looked on hopefully, and Usagi sat up as Mamoru did. She launched herself into his arms, knocking him back down. And they held each other tightly.

Jadeite walked over to a sagging Rei, propped her up, and held her to his side. "You get lots of rest and pampering after that. You more than earned it." She smiled at him as her eyelids drooped.

Kunzite smiled down at Mamoru, and he chuckled at how happy the man was in his mate's arms. And he knew she was his mate. He saw the mark.

"So," Zoisite asked. "What just happened?"

Kunzite answered, "we have a new pack mate, and Rei saved his life."

"What?" Jadeite asked.

"I physically couldn't hurt Usagi even to help her."

Usagi had pulled herself together. That whole experience was horrible on a visceral level, and she had lost control. Now she was back to herself.

"I kept missing the signs. They were small but added up. He's not your packmate. He's your pack leader now. Earlier, when he asked for a report, Kunzite, you replied immediately even though everyone wasn't there yet."

She was sitting on Mamoru's lap and looked up at him. "You kept using werewolf words, and I wrote it off as having been around the others and hearing what they said. But it wasn't. The werewolf in you was waking up. Somewhere in your past, you have an ancestor that was a werewolf. Something in my blood woke it up."

He kissed her forehead and felt his adoration for her. It made him smile to know he would live for her.

Usagi then said, "huh, remember I was surprised you felt the connection the first time we met? It might have been the werewolf inside of you sensing your mate."

"Well, this night was absolutely terrifying," Jadeite said. "And traumatizing! Let's not do this one again."

Usagi's phone rang, and Kunzite tossed it to Jadeite. "Have him talk to Rei. I don't know what to say other than that he's alive. She did something awesome—again."

As she explained her conversation with Mars to Dracula, Ami started giggling. "Sorry," she whispered. "It's been a stressful night, and this is weird. She talked to Mars and Dracula in one night and created the first hybrid vampire-werewolf in existence."

Jadeite growled, "and she's mine!"

Usagi whispered to Mamoru, "you wanted them all out of the penthouse because you hadn't marked me yet. He says it with confidence. You weren't. You werewolf was wary of others being around me without me being claimed."
