Edited Immortal Moon S chapter. Reminder: Mamoru/Usagi isn't edited out; it's only the others.

Blueeyedevil06, you're amazing. Yeah, for my wonderful beta!

Jadeite lounged in the chair in the room and read in the dim light. With his supernatural eyes, he didn't need much to see the pages. He was reading anything and everything that Usagi had that even mentioned witches. For two days, he had taken up sentinel in Rei's room while she drifted in and out of consciousness.

She would wake long enough for him to help her to eat, listen to what he was learning, and smile at the new thing Usagi had decided she "had to have" to speed her recovery and then grow weary and fall back asleep, sometimes sitting up still. He would tuck her in, kiss her forehead, and go back to reading.

As he dozed lightly, a man appeared next to him, and he almost pissed himself. "Mars?" He asked, remembering seeing Rei yelling at him.

"Yes." A chair appeared, and Mars sat down. "Your mate is something else. She ignored part of the information I gave her. She'll be fine, but she pushed harder than she needed to."

Jadeite breathed a sigh of relief. "I was so worried."

"I noticed. I came to encourage you. This will be two more days' time."

"Why does she have to Vision Walk to see you?" Jadeite couldn't help asking. "You can appear here for her."

"Only she could have taken the golden crystal out of the ether. But otherwise, every time she comes through Vision Walking, she gets stronger. It's to grow her. She gains power from the ether too." Mars shrugged. "I get it, but you don't have to worry. I won't let my precious daughter be harmed. You are far from the only one who loves her."

"She's barely been conscious for two days! You say it will be four! How is this not harmed," he asked, frustrated at Mars.

"She is tired; she's not dying. Rei used so much power and put her energy beyond its limits."

Jadeite shook his head. "She looks so vulnerable."

Mars laughed, "to me, she looks more powerful than she ever has. She forced his whole body to heal at once. It was supposed to be gradual, and she knew that. She's even stronger than I hoped she would be. I'm so damn proud of her."

"I'm…I guess I was just scared."

"Which was why I came." Mars stood, and the chair disappeared. "You're a good man and one I can accept for my beloved daughter."

"How do you know? Prophesy?"

"No. You're here sitting with her, reading books on magic, watching over her. That's how I know." Then Mars disappeared.

Nephrite went to the fridge and grabbed out an ice-cold beer. He put a beer koozie on it for two reasons. One, to hide it from the guys that it was a local craft beer, they liked to give him shit about that, and two, Ami had deemed one acceptable in place of a coaster since it didn't leave water rings on the end table. In hindsight, he admitted the glass table he didn't buy would have been the better option than the manly-looking wood one he purchased. You can Windex water rings off of glass—according to Ami.

He made it to the living room and flopped down on the couch, and since he didn't see Ami around, he put his feet up on his coffee table and relaxed. He took a long sip of his beer and, without looking, placed it on the end table like normal.

The thud, and the sound of beer pouring out shocked him, and he jumped up from the couch and saw the end table was missing. "Ami! Get down here! Where's my table?!"

As he snatched up the almost empty beer, she appeared by his side. "No need to shout, I'm a vampire."

He shot an irritated look at her and motioned to the beer puddle on the floor. "I was shouting because my table is missing, not so you could hear me."

She gave him an innocent look and said, "I'm having it refinished at my cost. Now that you all use coasters, I figured I could get those ugly water rings fixed. You're welcome," she said sweetly.

"The answer is the sweet one that gets away with being a brat."

"What?"

"If you're wondering what type of sister you would be, that's the answer."

She giggled and kissed him on the cheek. Then she said, "you better clean that up before it stains."

"Brat," he said with no heat and went to go get a towel to clean it up.

Mamoru had to physically force himself to go to University, and even then, he had people on rotation to watch Usagi. She rolled her eyes lovingly and told him to go.

Makoto chuckled when she showed up for her "shift" as Mamoru had called it. "What does he think is going to happen?"

"'A queen needs her guards,' he claims." Usagi shook her head in amusement. "He's possessive of me and trying to learn to handle a werewolf's possessiveness mixed with a vampire's. It's all happening at once for him. He deems you 'part of us' so you count as him keeping a close eye on me. He's actually doing remarkably well in all of this."

"He is?" Makoto asked, interested. She loved learning more and more about the supernatural.

"There isn't a precedent for what he is. It seems like things are more heightened for him. And surely you noticed how much self-control that man has. He's really impressive."

Minako sighed sadly, stepping into the temporary police station in Tokyo. The mood there was obviously very subdued. There were countless funerals scheduled that day. Flowers decorated every surface, and some bouquets were even sitting on the floor. It smelled like a floral shop.

She followed the man tasked with processing her international transfer assignment. He was pleased and relieved that she spoke Japanese when he met her. She was shocked he hadn't been told and mentioned that fact to him.

He frowned. "I may have been, honestly. I've been in a fog. This has been like a living nightmare. I'm so glad that guy's head was on a pike." He showed her his phone lock screen, and it was Diamond's severed head on a pike with the flash drive still up his nose.

The man then blushed, "sorry. That probably seems gruesome to you."

She laughed and shook her head. "No, not at all." She then showed him her lock screen with the same photo. "I'm not as sweet as I seem."

He handed her ID, badge, and information. "Well, normally, we're more organized. But, find an empty spot, and it's yours. Good luck. We're working on getting more space."

She assured him she'd be fine, and she wandered the police station. She had a meeting with her new boss in ten minutes, so she looked around.

The room was full of people, and it was so quiet. People barely talked, and she was warned all calls were being redirected to other stations since the phone system wasn't up yet.

She bumped into a white-haired detective and apologized. He smiled at her and snatched her wrist. She easily retrieved it, but there was a light in his eyes.

"Venus?" He whispered.

"What?"

"Rumor is someone nicknamed Venus is coming from the London Police. I suspect that's you."

She shrugged, "I don't know why you would think that. My name is Minako."

He smiled wide and whispered very quietly so only a vampire could hear. "I'm friends with Usagi. My name is Artemis. And you don't have a pulse."

She blinked at him and held her calm facade. "I don't know what you're talking about."

He smiled like the cat that got the canary. "No human could have heard me."

She smiled, hiding her frustration at her foolish mistake. "My name is Minako."

"And I just offered to introduce you to a living legend."

"I don't know what you're-"

He cut her off by holding up a photo on his phone of him, Luna, and Usagi. "Tonight sound good?"

She nodded instantly. "She's here?"

"She's the one who ripped Diamond's head from its body. She's here."
