The LCU Now Presents...
We begin in Gravity Falls, traveling through the streets, past the many buildings. We leave the town and travel through the woods, discovering the smashed ruins of the Bill Cipher statue. Bill himself is no longer recognizable.
We go underneath Gravity Falls, into the underground bunker constructed by Ford and McGucket. We move through the bomb shelter and the security room, through the observation deck and the tunnels that seem to have been dug not by human hands, but by creature hands instead. Eventually, we end up in the laboratory, where there are several cryogenic holding tubes… and one of them is broken.
We head down the Redwood Highway and return to Mystery Mountain, the redwood-decorated mountain and the sky tram still shrouded by fog. While the statues of Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox are still there to greet us, the welcome sign has been covered up by a banner that says 'Closed for Renovations'.
We find ourselves in a secure government facility, its location not disclosed to us. We see several staff members in a security room, closely watching the monitors. On one of the monitors we see the former King Andrias, who is now in a large cell with blank walls. The previous ruler of Newtopia keeps his head lowered, his face hidden from the security cameras.
In another facility, or perhaps another part of the same facility, we find ourselves in a room that is filled with glass cases holding weapons, pieces of unusual technology, and other weird objects that the government is keeping here for future study. One of the cased objects is the huge crown of King Andrias, which is currently playing dead to fool its captors.
We travel to a new facility, one belonging to Department A. We see the three journals, each of them open to the page with the instructions of how to work the portal. The journals are in an observation room, overlooking a bunch of Exorcist robots working on what appears to be a replica of the portal that had been built underneath the Mystery Shack. And on the table with the journals, there is also a framed photo showing younger versions of Angel, Abigail, and Joseph. A hand reaches down and places a new photo against the framed one, this photo showing a younger Angel with a young Eda.
We pay a visit to the Nightmare Realm, to the surface of what was once Mewni. We approach what had once been home of the Butterfly royal family, now just a haunted ruin that even the scavengers avoided. And as we move through the lonely hallways of what had previously been a beautiful castle, we can see that it has not quite yet been abandoned, the Heartless version of Moon Butterfly still prowling the hallways.
On another part of the Mewni's surface, Manny Noceda is outside and has taken off his helmet. He is staring up at the Nightmare Realm's 'sky'. It looks like space, but not space as we are used to it. There are stars, asteroids, and other celestial bodies amidst the swirling shades of dark purple, red, and yellow. It is strangely beautiful.
But then we visit another part of the Nightmare Realm. A much darker part. Thousands of Heartless have gathered before a throne, raising their hands up in reverence of the Dark God himself… Chernabog, who sits on his throne, not even paying attention to the tiny Heartless at his feet. Instead, he looks up at the 'heavens' above his throne, which is occupied by the devastated remains of several worlds. He watches as two of the broken planets collide with each other, ending both of their existences at the same time. Upon seeing this mutual destruction, Chernabog just smiles. The Heartless rejoice.
We then go farther in the past than we've gone ever before… to a field where a woman is cradling her dead son in her arms. The woman touches her son's head, where blood is still coming from the fatal wound. The woman is silent for a moment before she throws her head back and screams to the heavens.
We go farther than even that and we see the same woman, completely naked, as she walks around a beautiful garden filled with life. She kneels down to check a flower… and she sees a white snake slithering on the ground next to her.
And then we keep going further and further back. Before the first man and woman. Before the garden. Before 'let there be light'.
And we find ourselves in darkness. A formless and empty earth. And before that… nothing.
This story began in darkness.
The question is… will it end in darkness as well?
The vision ends and we return to the present, to a cave where three witches have gathered around a cauldron. They have shown you the present. They have shown you the past. And now they offer to answer your question about how this story will end by giving you a look into the future.
Will you take it?
