Within the storage warehouse underneath Restoration HQ, Lanolin was taking inventory of the various supplies. All of a sudden, a rush of wind blew through the room, knocking Lanolin into one of the shelves.
"There you are Sheepy! I've been looking for ya!" Surge said as Lanolin pulled herself back up, glaring at the tenrec.
"What do you want!?"
"I'm bored! There's nothing to do around here!"
Lanolin felt a twitch in her eye before remembering what her anger management coach had told her "Well, it's not my job to entertain you."
Surge scoffed "Maybe it should be."
Lanolin felt the twitch in her eye again "Why don't you help me with inventory then?" she was beginning to realize she would need another session with her coach.
"Sounds boring."
"That's what I thought."
Seeing she wasn't getting anywhere, Surge let out a sigh and let her eyes wander the shelves, the various pieces of junk proving to be of little interest to the tenrec, until her sight fell upon a glass case.
Floating inside it was a yellow diamond cut gem glowing with power beyond anyone's comprehension "Hey is that one of the Chaos… thingies?" Surge questioned.
"Chaos Emerald and no, it's a fake one Tails made during the ARK incident." Lanolin explained, only to be met with a blank stare "The time when Eggman blew up the moon."
"That's why the moon looks like that?" Surge genuinely asked as Lanolin pinched the bridge of her nose.
"You seriously don't remember that!?"
"Me and memories don't have the best relationship." Surge said with a shrug.
"Whatever, I've got to finish this up. Don't touch anything."
"I won't geez." Surge rolled her eyes as Lanolin walked off and once she was certain the sheep was gone, ran over to the container with the emerald and opened it up "So this thing is supposed to contain the ultimate power?" she idly juggled the emerald in her hand "Wonder how hard I can throw it before it breaks."
Before she could test that, the building suddenly shook and Surge heard screaming, "Finally some excitement!" she pocketed the emerald and ran off.
Quickly arriving topside, Surge was greeted with a mess of panic as various people ran around like headless chickens as the building continued to shake. Among the panicking mass Surge spotted Kit and dashed over "Hey, where's the fire Drippy?" she asked only for a deafening roar to drown out any potential answer Kit may have had "What the heck was that noise!?"
"There!" Kit pointed towards the shadowy beast looming over them, the temporal being only known as the Time Eater. The ancient creature lobotomized and partially roboticized by Eggman to alter history and remove his greatest defeats from the timeline, which took the combined power of two Super Sonics to defeat.
Of course, Surge knew none of this.
"Okay don't know what that is, but it's getting a beat down!" she leaped into a spin attack towards the Time Eater, only for it to easily slap her aside. The last thing Surge heard was Kit screaming for her to get up as she slipped into unconsciousness.
"Ugh…" Surge groaned as she came to "You ready… for round two… creep?" clutching her head the tenrec pulled herself up to find she was no longer in Restoration H.Q.
In fact, she seemed to not be anywhere as Surge looked around to find… nothing… nothing in the most literal sense at that as the white void before her stretched on into the horizon with no end. "What the… where am I? Hellooooo! Sheepy! Drippy! Anybody!" she called out but received no response as her words echoed off into the void. With no other option, Surge ran looking for something, anything, but again found nothing. Nevertheless, the tenrec continued to run through the white infinitude, no way of knowing how much time had passed, before she finally collapsed from exhaustion.
"Ugh that was a weird dream…" Surge muttered as she came to… again, sitting up to find herself still in the void "OH COME ON!" Before she could scream some more, Surge finally spotted a blip in the distance and within moments had propelled herself to it.
Surge was greeted by what appeared to be a set of buildings and a statue of a robot with two mini guns for arms, both a blinding white completely devoid of color. "Where am I? In an art museum?" Surge approached the statue, knocking on it to confirm it was real, before putting on a snobby accent as she said, "This piece is meant to the endless struggle of war, cause war is bad, and we have to tell people that all the time for some reason." She let out a snort at her joke before frowning "Okay I'm bored now."
As the tenrec prepared to run off again, she noticed a trail of sparkles running along the ground leading towards the whited-out buildings, as if it was inviting her "Good of an idea as anything." and with a shrug she ran towards the buildings.
