Zoisite had Ami pressed up against the brick wall in the alley of a random building. He used his body to pin her there, loving how she let him. He knew there was no way he would be able to overpower Ami at any time. Vampires, at least of her level, were stronger than werewolves.

But now they were hidden away just enough that most people wouldn't see them, but not enough to keep someone from stumbling upon them by accident.

He knew that fact thrilled her.

And the fact that he knew that made him happy. Ami was typically so proper. She was a pre-med genius raised by the Chief of surgery. Sometimes he suspected she never played with toys as a child. She was just so mature all the time.

That was why when he found out she had a bit of a naughty side, it pleased him beyond words. No one would suspect that about her, and he felt like it let him in even more intimately into secrets in her life. Ones that only he knew.

His first clue had been that big blue dildo she had. It had surprised him only in the fact that she tended to come off like she didn't have any desires at all. Even thinking about it made Zoisite antsy and desperate for Ami. He needed to feel their bond viscerally right now. He was sure they weren't the only ones either.

As Ami moaned when he pressed his body hard against hers, he nibbled at her ear and whispered, "You want to get fingered in the alleyway, don't you?"

Makoto smiled when she heard Nephrite arrive home. He had a beautiful kitchen, and she was chopping vegetables for dinner in it. Now it was their kitchen –that he insisted upon the moment she moved in. After all, he owned the house. "No matter how many times Ami tried to run things," he would fuss. He grumbled a bit when Makoto insisted she liked Ami's rules.

Nephrite dropped his keys in the bowl by the front door and changed into slippers. He then walked to the kitchen, leaned on the doorframe, and watched her chopping away. The domestic scene brought peace to him that he didn't expect before meeting her. Now just her presence calmed him.

Well, it did until he looked at her backside and admired the view of her bent over in her short skirt. He sauntered over and placed his hands on her hips as he leaned against her pert butt, pressing his hardening cock against her. He looked down over her shoulder at her plump breasts in her low-cut shirt. He moved one hand to pull away her shirt and bra on one side, exposing her pert nipple.

"That's distracting," she commented, not really complaining as she kept cutting the vegetables.

Jadeite stood in the room he shared with Rei, and he held her enveloped tightly in his arms. He breathed against her neck, his breath tickling a bit. He knew because he felt her giggle. That made him smile for the first time since the fight.

He whispered, "I love you."

"I love you too," Rei replied back quickly.

He closed his eyes and breathed in her scent. "It wasn't Kunzite's fault."

Rei nodded. She agreed, but she knew he missed the point of why Usagi had yelled at him. "Usagi knows that."

"Then why blame him? It bugs me. I would already be feeling horrible if that happened to you. Why yell at him and add on if she knows that?" He knew she could feel him trembling a bit. His own memories of seeing Rei seemingly dead when she spoke to Mars had resurfaced.

Rei leaned into Jadeite's embrace even more. "Where does it say that Usagi has to be perfect? What rule is there that prevents her from crippling fear?"

"What?" He asked in surprise.

"Let's list what she's gone through that I know about. She feels responsible for the deaths of everyone Diamond killed in that bombing; she's helping Mamoru through facing the death of parents that he doesn't remember. Beryl is back out of our past lives and wants to brainwash Mamoru into being her lover, and on top of that, he's the first hybrid in history. She thought her changing him into a vampire killed him, and she was stuck watching him die until I saved him. Then now, Minako almost died in front of her eyes because Usagi was too distracted to notice anything was wrong with her."

Jadeite knit his brows, "Wait, who said she was too distracted?"

"In a way, Usagi. I believe it's why she snapped at Kunzite."

"But why him?"

"Because she relies on you guys to be her backup when it comes to us overdoing it. You're constantly telling me to be careful, and I have been more cautious because of you." She moved enough to kiss his cheek. "I think she wants them to be as protective as you."

He asked, "Is that why she never ordered you to stand down like she did Minako?"

Shaking her head, she said, "No. One, she trusts you to keep an eye on me; two, she can't order me to do anything. I'm not a vampire, so she's not really my queen."

Jadeite signed, "Are you saying she can't trust Kunzite? And as far as not being your queen, she values you too."

"Oh, sweety, you misunderstand. I'm not saying she doesn't trust him; I'm saying you're an amazing man who she knows will always watch out for me. To be fair to Kunzite, this is the first time he's known Minako to do something reckless. I don't think he understood at all the kind of danger she was in." She frowned and sighed, then said, "I know what I healed. If I was a second later, she'd be dead right now.

"And as for Usagi and her not being my queen, it's true. She's the queen of the vampires. But I'm starting to see more and more how I'm valuable to her all on my own. It's embarrassing to say, and I'd only admit it to you, but I did something huge today. We aren't burying Minako. I did that." She blushed over admitting that. After all, it felt like bragging to her.

She then kissed him sweetly on the lips and said, "As for Kunzite, Usagi will work that all out with him." She knit her brow and added, "I'm worried about her. I don't think she's handling things well right now. I have an odd feeling that she's falling apart."

Jadeite said, "And you want to fix her."

"No. I think that only Mamoru can help heal what's hurting her right now. I want to shield her from more pain."

"How?"

Rei shrugged, "No earthly idea. I have a feeling, though, that some of the answers will be in our past."

That got Jadeite thinking. "As much as I hate that death thing you do when you visit Mars, what if you're right? But what of this time, you ask him about Mamoru's parents? He might know something, or maybe you can see part of his past."

She hugged him hard. "I love you so damn much. You protect me without stifling me and my abilities. You're really the perfect man. I love your idea, and I'll have Zoisite watch over me…."

Jadeite noticed she instantly changed her mood at that statement. "What?"

"Naru, she watched over me earlier. I assumed it would be okay."

He clenched his teeth and looked upset at that. "Not loving it."

"But she watched over me, and she's a vampire. She's capable of keeping an eye on me."

"There is nothing wrong with Naru other than she's not from my pack. When it's Zoisite, it feels like it's one step away from it being me. And yes, I realize I'm being unreasonable by having a problem with that."

Teasingly she said, "At least you know you're wrong. But," she added, "she made me understand more why it bothers you so much. I thought Zoisite was overreacting like you did because you're both pack mates."

"It bothered her?"

"Oh yeah! A ton. When I came back, she ran from the room like she was running from something. She absolutely empathizes with you. But she said something else that was interesting too. She said she noticed when I did that she suddenly noticed a lack of power coming off me. She said she didn't notice I had it until it was gone. She seems to think I radiate power. She equated it to being like the Great Fire."

A wry smile came to Jadeite's face. "I find I like her all of a sudden."

Rei laughed, "Yeah, because she agrees with you!"

"That, and she probably has helped you understand yourself better."

"Charmer."

"Guilty," he said, chuckling.

He then rubbed her back as he held her tightly. "I'm still shaken from the fight. That was horrible."

"And it has you worried about me. You're glad that I healed Minako, but you're also nervous. You're scared that, had it been dangerous to save her, I would have anyway."

"Yes. Always yes."

He felt his mood change quickly. It didn't surprise him. He wanted to assure himself she was okay, and his favorite way to do that was with vigorous sex. It proved to him she was very much alive.

Jadeite pressed her to the bed. "I need you right now. Please."

He assured himself she was quite alright while they made love for hours.
