Prologue
Note: Since Charlize Theron is the main female's lead voice claim, I would highly recommend you read the prologue while imagining her voice lol.
I was inspired by the prologue from Disney's Beauty and the Beast and wanted to included one for my fic that somewhat sounds reminiscent of it?
Once upon a time, in a faraway land, a half demon sought to find his place in the world, and he believed that he could only find his place through power. After hearing of a jewel known as the Jewel of Four Souls which had the power to grant any wish and increase a demon's power, he desired it so that he could become a full demon.
However, the jewel was protected by a beautiful priestess with unusually strong spiritual powers. She foiled the attempts of many demons as well as that of the half demon's to claim the Jewel of Four Souls.
One fateful day, the half demon succeeded in stealing the jewel only to be sealed by her arrow to the Tree of Ages with the last of her strength. The half demon was placed in an eternal sleep because of the arrow pinning him to the tree. The priestess died shortly after sealing the half demon to the tree. Her last wish was that the jewel be burned along with her remains. Unfortunately, a Carrion Crow attempted to steal the jewel, only to get into a skirmish with other demons which scattered it into many pieces.
When one tale ends, another begins. Would the half demon eventually cease to exist lost to time and would the Jewel of Four Souls remain scattered, leaving havoc in its wake? 50 years later, a Red-Eyed Lunar Bat Immortal washed up on the foreign land after surviving a storm at sea as her mother had intended to sell her into slavery. She wandered the land and fed on the blood of animals and humans as well as fruit to stay alive. She recently found a shard of the Jewel of Four Souls and thought it to be a pretty bauble and made a makeshift necklace out of it from a black cord. As time passed, she fell into despair that she was doomed to wander this land and lost all hope of ever seeing her blue-eyed twin sister again.
Many thanks to my beta xgengen for encouraging my decision to fic this out, approving of my title choice and helping check Inuyasha's characterization and fic details!
Let's just say if I approved of most of Inuyasha canon including InuKag, Inutachi, I wouldn't be writing this fic. I have such a love-hate relationship with this franchise / fandom. I'm still here because obviously I love one grumpy half demon and some characters. In my opinion, the story of Inuyasha had a lot of potential but as I grew up and I started extremely disliking InuKag and how Inutachi treats Inuyasha when Kikyō is involved, I guess a part of me has always had an itch to rewrite the story the way I wanted it to go.
Although I actually love InuKik, the sad thing is that Kikyō's still human, he'd still outlive her. I was tempted to ship Inuyasha with an original character who could live a long life with him, was 50 years younger than him, and ironically, my Blood+ oc, Jolie, fits the bill! Sadly, in her canon, she dies and has no canon love interest so this alternate dimension aims to give them both a happy ending. Since this is an alternate dimension, this will not be canon to my future Sailor Moon multicrossover projects Senshi no Basuke and Solar System Celestial Knights. But hey at least Inuyasha and Jolie having a happy ending still exists even if it isn't canon to my main alternate dimension which Senshi no Basuke and Solar System Celestial Knights are apart of.
Many thanks to my beta, xgengen, for encouraging my decision to fic this out, approving of my title choice, and helping check Inuyasha's characterization and fic details!
If you don't like this retelling just because I wrote something you personally don't like then just drop my fic, you don't have to tell me how much you dislike it. You're just going to get straight up blocked. If you are interested in sticking for the ride then I hope you enjoy. Constructive criticism is welcome, not rude criticism. You're also just going to get blocked for being a rude critic.
