Surge didn't have to go too far before she came across another colorless area, a series of mountains with various rails and metal platforms attached to them. Next to the mountains was a set of colorless statues, a sphere and a cube, no doubt another frozen person just like with Omega. As she approached, Surge felt the tugging feeling from before return "Found you." she smiled and ran into the mountains.

Once again Surge's surroundings had shifted and she landed on a set of rails, grinding into the canyon to be greeted by the sight of some kind of train depot with droves of Egg Pawns and Egg Flappers stationed at it. "More of Eggface's bots to bash?" a manic grin appeared on her face "Perfect." if Badniks could scream they would have as the lime-green comet of death ran through them, cackling along the way.

The tenrec made quick work of the Badniks and landed on another set of rails with a bored sigh "Come on! Give me something interesting!" As Surge said this a pair of Rhinoliners pulled up on the rails beside her "Oh you wanna piece of me?" the tenrec glowed with anticipation. Surge then watched as the Rhinoliners blew up the rails beside her before they ran off the tracks blowing themselves up.

"…okay then…" she leaped off the rail to bash some more Egg Pawns and after a few minutes of that and some more rail grinding, Surge reached a point where she could feel Doom's Eye nearby. "Almost found you." as she rocked towards the feeling, a pair of trains pulled onto the tracks, blocking the way forward. Surge glanced about for a way forward, spying a green energy trail on the rafters above, snaking over the trains. "That looks interesting. Chaos Control!" Surge leapt off the top of the train and touched the energy trail. The moment she touched it, Surge was pulled into it at high speeds "Wooooooaaaaah! This is awesome!" Surge yelled out as she flew across the sky, landing on a another rail to speed towards a tunnel.

As she entered a pulse of energy echoed out and the tunnel's walls began to wobble as parts of the rail ahead began to split apart. Surge leaped from rail to rail only for Doom's Eye to appear behind her "There you are." she said as the area morphed into the cityscape again.

"This way." the eye commanded as it flew ahead.

"Why should I follow you?" Surge asked even as she was already chasing the eye.

"Can you afford not to?" the eye questioned as the city morphed around it "You'll understand soon enough."

"Hmph. fine." Surge glared at the eye "I'm getting answers from you one way or another."

"Hahaha, very good." the eye split into several clones, each extending their arms to block the way ahead "Come to me, if you can."

"Okay, gross." Surge made sure to be extra generous with her Chaos Spears, stabbing each of the clones in the eye, as she chased down the main one. Just as she reached the end, the real eye flew off with a laugh "Hey! Get back here!" Surge leaped off the bridge

The eye split into more clones "It doesn't matter how many of you there are! I smash you all the same!" Surge declared as she dove down, destroying each eye along the way. Finally, Surge rammed the real eye with a spin attack, causing it to drop another gear "Well done… But it's still not enough." it said before vanishing through another portal.

"'Not enough'? What did he mean…?" Surge's question would remain unanswered as her vision faded to white.

Back in White Space, Rail Canyon's color was restored as Surge walked up to where the statues had been to see Eggman's henchbots, Orbot and Cubot.

"Oh. Hello Surge." Orbot said while Cubot hid behind him.

"Please don't smash us to bits!"

Surge scratched her head before being hit by a flash of memory "Oh right you're those dumb little robots Eggman has following him around. Any idea how to undo the mess your boss made?"

"The boss caused this? Why am I not surprised?" Orbot slowly shook his head.

"We probably should just wait for Sonic to beat him. Things usually go back to normal after that." Cubot said, cautiously hovering towards Surge only to finch back as she growled at him.

"Why is the answer to everyone's problems to wait for Sonic to fix things!?"

"Well, if you want to take a more direct approach, we do have this rocket base here." Orbot explained "Maybe if you help us find the parts-"

"No." Surge bluntly stated as she ran off.

"Oh…"

Approaching another pillar, Surge couldn't help by shutter slightly "Alright, I know what's going to happen, so it won't hurt as much this time." she said as the pillar took her gear. As the black substance seeped out again Surge collapsed in pain again "OH COME ON! HOW DOES IT HURT MORE THIS TIME!?" she screamed as the transformation began.

The substance pooled at her feet as electricity sparked off them, within moments the sparks began to form a frame resembling a manta ray and Surge was launched towards the water. Despite its appearance, the manta was able to easily keep Surge afloat as she glided across the water. As she reached the other shore, the tenrec leaped off the manta to skid to a stop.

Surge stared down at her hands, watching as the black substance flowed through them as if it were natural "What the heck is going on with me? I've never used powers like these before, it feels… awesome!" As she pondered this, something off into the distance caught her eye. On another island, Surge could just about make out the image of a human girl staring back at her. "Are there more people in this weird place?" Surge shook her head "Whatever, I've got better things to worry about."
