Chapter 7:
The Proposal
Late one evening, Sabrina angrily stomped up the stairs of her apartment building, feeling more frustrated after another job interview didn't work out. She arrived on the third floor and walked the hall past the other apartments, soon coming to her apartment. She pulled her keys out and unlocked the door but felt a light tap on her shoulder. She turned around and saw that it was her neighbor, Ms. Jackson who was upset.
"Yes, Ms. Jackson?" Sabrina asked sarcastically and annoyed.
"Yesterday, you broke my son's toy dart blaster," Ms. Jackson explains with a hint of anger in her voice.
"You're point?" Sabrina rolls her eyes at her neighbor.
"My point is that next time you have a problem with my son, you talk to me! Understand!?"
"Whatever," Sabrina enters her apartment and then slams the door behind her.
Inside, she walks past the kitchen into the living room where three uninvited guests, one of which was Natalie sitting comfortably in the chair. " I hope you don't mind, Ms. Haynes, my associates and I made ourselves at home?" she asks.
"I do mind whoever you are because this is my apartment and you three are trespassing," Sabrina replies upset.
"Well technically, it isn't trespassing if you have a key," Natalie casually corrects showing an exact copy of Sabrina's house key.
"Uh-huh. Let's try this again, who are you and what are you doing in my apartment?"
"Of course, allow me to introduce myself. My name is -"
BOOM... BOOM... BOOM...
"Who is it?" Sabrina called to the door.
"It's me, Haynes!" a gruff voice shouts from outside her front door causing the former officer to roll her eyes for she knew who it was.
"Allow me, Ms. Haynes, " Natalie offers then nods to Bull who stands up and walks toward the door.
The bulldog opens the door and Mr. Jackson angrily walks past the bulldog toward Sabrina. "You've got a lot of nerve disrespecting my wife," he growled.
"Technically, I didn't disrespect your wife," Sabrina reiterated.
"I don't care! You don't ever disrespect my wife! Ever!"
"Mr. Jackson, I advise you to calm down, " Natalie urges calmly.
"You stay out of this!"
"Very well, then. Bull. Toro," Natalie snaps her fingers.
Bull and Toro stand up from the couch, walk toward Mr. Jackson, and begin subjecting him to the most brutal beatdown ever.
"I did advise him to calm down but he didn't listen. Anyway, I digress, my name is Natalie and the reason I'm here is because you and I have something in common," Natale explained.
"And what would that be?" asked Sabrina raising an eyebrow.
"Carmelita Montoya Fox. We have a score to settle with her," Natalie answers.
"Pfft. I doubt that," scoffed Sabrina.
"So sure about that? You lost you're job because of her,"
"How do you know that?"
"I have my ways. I also know Ms. Haynes your father was an officer of the law until Inspector Fox's father exposed him for taking payoffs from the Delgado cartel. As a result, he was kicked off the force, convicted and then imprisoned,"
"Oh, and don't forget how my mother not only divorced him but he also died in prison,"
"Yes, and then you joined the force to make up for his mistakes that is until tonight. Especially since Interpol doesn't know about Inspector Fox's secret visitor," Natalie passes Sabrina several photos.
As she looked through the photos, her experssion changes to suprise and then to anger. "Are you kidding me!?" she shouts at the top of her lungs. "I'm forced to hand in my badge while she and Sly Cooper are playing in the bed sheets!?"
"So. So, what do you say, Ms. Haynes? Do you wish to get even?"
"Let's do it and one more thing, call me Sabrina,"
"Very well, Sabrina,"
The two women shake hands to seal the deal then Sabrina notices the ongoing beatdown her neighbor is enduring when she gets an evil idea. "Say Natalie, can you get your enforcers to stop?" Curiously, Natalie signals to Bull and Toro to stop which they do, and back away revealing Mr. Jackson covered in dozens of injuries as well as his nose and lip bleeding.
"Alright Sabrina, what do you have in mind?" Natalie questions which Sabrina replies with an evil smile.
Central Intelligence Agency
Langley, Virginia
At the Central Intelligence Agency, two agens were walking down the hall side by side. One is a male lion and the other is a lioness. This is Vincent Trevors and Katherine Dewey.
"What have you got?" asked Vincent Trevors.
"One of the substations intercepted a phone call. We have a hit on a high-value target," Katherine informs handing Trevors a folder revealing a photo of Natale on her phone.
"Natalie?" Trevors utters in disbelief. "Are you sure it's her?"
"We ran her voice through the system. It's a 100% match,"
"So the body that was in her cell at the prison wasn't her,"
"Apparently not, sir,"
The two enter Trevor office where Vincent proceeds to sit behind his desk while Katherine continued standing. "Where was this photo taken?"
"Paris International Airport,"
"Paris?"
"She arrived several days ago but we don't know where she is,"
"Contact Jacob. Tell him I want him in Paris immediately,"
"Yes, sir," Katherine turns and exits the office.
