Prologue: Time for a Change In Careers
A strange scroll sits within a temple rolled up on a strange desk. Suddenly a strange blue colored energy begins to emit from the wound up parchment. And like clockwork, two strange figures approach the scroll with caution and distress.
?: "Oh no! We've got trouble, another change in history has Occurred A-and its catastrophic!"
?: "Hang on a moment, this change doesn't seem to have them at all."
The strange unknown pair then unroll the scroll to see what sort of history change awaits them. The scroll shows a vision of an underwater Temple slowly being flooded by seawater and four individuals try to make their escape.
Age: 1-22 Era 2, Earth.
Pearl: "Steven? Where are you going?"
Steven: "Amethyst gets to keep Her's!"
Amethyst: "Darn Tootin'"
Steven: "Im gonna get the one I Picked out."
The Crystal gems: "Steven!"
The young Boy: Known as Steven then picked up a small marble looking relic with an hourglass inside the ball.
Steven: "My Name's Steven."
FWASH!
?: "Stop Right there!"
The boy turns around to see another version of himself, furrowing his brows angerly and his hair styled in a pompadour like look.
Future Steven: "Give me the time thing Steven!"
Steven: "Wait are you, Future me?"
F. Steven : "Just Hurry up and Give it!"
Suddenly two more alternate versions of Steven appear and trip the first time traveler onto the ground. Walking backwards nervously Steven is ment by yet another time duplicate of himself appearing out of nowhere.
Steven: "ah!"
Alt. Steven: "Don't make me hurt me Steven!"
Steven: "why do you need it so bad?"
Alt Steven: "Just Give it to me!" The two Steven then struggling to take the small marble away from each other all the while more time duplicates of the young gem hybrid began appearing like ants at a picnic. Eventually Future Steven is able to Wrangle the time relic out of his past self's hands pushing him to the water covered floor with a splash.
At first the Pompadour styled gem laughed Triumphantly with a hint of craziness however this was short lived when he Noticed his past self, staring at him in fear. Future steven then finally took in his surroundings: a giant mob of himself still squabbling with. Well himself! And the Crystal gems: Steven's Family, stood dumbstruck at the sight they were witnessing. Minus Amethyst who seemed to be counting how many Steven's were now present.
Now Future Steven had Finally understood what his actions had caused had enough:
Future Steven: "STOP IIIIIIIT!"
In that instance, every Steven stopped arguing and turned to the center Steven in surprise.
Future Steven: "Look around You! This isn't right" (Helps his past self up of the ground) "When Steven fights Steven, Who is the winner? What have we become?"
The group to Steven Duplicates then began to converse agreeing at what they've done with one steven in the back asking "What have we become?"
Future Steven: We're Not the Steven's We Once were. And to fix that, I have to end it!"
Placing the Time relic back on the table he originally found it, Future Steven Clamped his hands together and slammed them on the table where the relic was destroying it, causing all the future duplicates to be shatters instantaneously. However, another reaction started to occur as all the time duplicates of Steven began to turn to a blueish colored Sand and began to dissipate into seemingly nothingness.
One by one the copies disappeared Soon all that was left was the Past Steven and the Original future Steven. Who then approached his past self with his final words.
Future Steven: "Steven, Dad Can't Play beach-apalooza with you. The boat's Fat, you gotta find another way."
Steven: "I Don't Know what you're Talking about!"
Future Steven: "Stay cool forever Steven. Arrivederci"
Soon Future Steven met his fate like all the other hims, turning to Sand and disappearing. Once again leaving only one Steven stood in a thousand yard stare of shock and a bit of trauma. This moment didn't last long as the undersea temple's windows finally gave way to a wave of sea water flooding said temple faster.
Age 852, Time Nest Conton City.
"That… that was nothing I'd expected to see at all." A tall young man with purple colored hair, a dark long coat and a sword strapped around his chest admitted. "though there were no signs of the Demon realm at play in this timeline I Think it's safe to say this change seemed to have closed in on itself and fix it on its own."
The young man turned to the person he was talking to a young woman who appeared not taller then a child with purple-pinkish complexion, orange-red hair, and was wearing strange garbs. The woman seemed to be concentrating utilizing a sort of magic ability as he body glowed from a white color to a golden yellow light.
"S-Supreme Kai of Time? What's up is there still something wrong?" asked the Young man as a small sweat drop seemed to form on his face from nervousness.
The Supreme kai of time didn't answer as she continued to concentrate her brows furrowed to focus her powers of time more until…..
FWASH!
In a small burst of Greenish light, Steven Universe suddenly fell out of the burst of energy before falling three feet to the floor of the time nest temple.
"What the?! T-That's That kid from the scroll we just saw! Supreme Kai of Time Did you summon him here?" inquired the man.
While Steven was unhurt, he had, in what he assumed just died and the final shock after biding farewell to his past self, had caused him to faint.
"I Didn't exactly have a choice in the matter Trunks." The kaioshin finally replied as she walked up casually to the unconscious boy.
The Supreme kai of Time then took a giant inhale of air when suddenly:
"HEEEEY! WAKE UP YOU DUMB JERK!" The small Kaio roared with much fury in her voice not only scaring Steven awake but surprising Trunks as well who flinched at her sudden screaming.
"A-AAAHHH!" Wailed Steven as he shot up now awake in a cold sweat. Steven then patted his head and body as he began to slowly catch his breath, he looked and felt alive. Just a moment ago he felt like he had died. "Im….Im alive?" he replied to himself.
Soon Steven took in his new surroundings. This was a temple he had never seen before loaded with hundreds, thousands maybe even Millions of scrolls. "Where: Where am I?" asked the Young Quartz. Almost immediately Trunks and SKoT made their presence known to Steven.
"This young man, is the time Nest. A place where time is kept. Each scroll you see is the history of countless timelines and worlds." Explained the Time Deity.
Steven who had turned to see his greeters was immediately amazed.
"Whao! You guys can keep Time here? How does that work? How is that even Possible? I thought time was something you can't- Gak!" Before Steven could finish asking his rapid fire questions, the Supreme Kai of Time used her powers to create a ball of Ki around Steven's body (except his head) preventing him from moving around.
"Supreme Kai of time!" Trunks said worriedly for the young boy.
"Im sorry to spoil your mood young man but you are in Very serious trouble!" replied the Supreme Kai of Time with a very stern look on her face as she seemed to be taking her job seriously at this moment.
"W-what? B-but what did I do, I don't even know you guys. What did I do to make you this mad?" Quivered Steven as he could tell how mad this small Kai was.
"I am the Supreme Kai of time, It is my duty as the deity who watches over time along with the creator of time Toki Toki, to ever see history flows as it should. And we just saw your little escapade through the Scroll of time where you came from. Do you have ANY idea as to what you've just done?" inquired the angered kai as she lectured the poor gem-human hybrid.
"N-no…" Steven responded sounding like he was about to cry.
"you not only traveled through your own history but you changed it on such a large scale DOZENS of new timelines spawned because of you!"
Trunks was surprised by this statement but soon he lifted his head to where the scroll for steven's time line was. In the compartment where a single scroll had been store, several new scrolls had just magically spawned out of nowhere.
"I-I don't believe this so many timelines from one event! I'd just assumed the changed closed in on itself!' Trunks gasped in a stunned shock. The SKoT then turned to her top patroller.
"While its true that strange relic this boy had is different from the time machine you had originally Trunks, all time travel will spawn timelines when someone messes with history. That relic sort of acted like the time rings the other Supreme Kai have to guard in their universes. It acted like an anchor when traveling to the past." SKoT then turned back to Steven. "To clear things up: you and your counterparts didn't die, they simply returned to their timelines. But as I mentioned because of your actions, there may be slight or drastic changes to come in their home timelines. And as for why you specifically are here young man, I interfered with your return trip. And summoned you here"
Steven was stunned to learn that it was because of, from his perspective, this small child that he wasn't allowed to return home to his family and friends back in beach city. "But why? If we all were gonna be sent back why not let me go home?" Steven asked
"Because, you're the original. You started this whole mess with your initial time travel." SKoT responded taking her tone back to her previous stern voice. "Time travel is a very serious offense, not even the most Elite gods are allowed to time travel. So for your crimes you must be punished."
Steven felt scared and very confused like his past self. In a strange place he knew nothing about and a scary lady seemed to be yelling at him cuz he broke a special rule he didn't know existed. And worst of all his Family didn't know where he was to save him.
Trunks soon stepped in to mediate the situation. "Hang on Supreme Kai of time, do you really have to be so harsh on this guy? He's only a kid!" the half Saiyan responded trying in his own way to help Steven.
SKoT looked to Trunks, her gaze still sharp but no longer mad. She then turned to Steven again before sighing heavily. "Very well. I'll change the parameters of this one's Punishment, however: he'll be yours and the other's responsibility Trunks."
"T-Thank Supreme Kai of Time! I promise I'll keep an eye on him." Trunks replied now relieved as he bowed politely.
SKoT then released Steven from her Ki sphere, the Trio walked outside of the temple into the open cage area. While Steven was amazed at the giant dome and grassy looking area he was still a bit scared as to what his "Punishment" was to be. The trio came to an archway that seemed to have a wall of light in the middle section of the walkway.
"Right this way kid come on." Trunks replied
Steven followed closely and once he walked through the light wall he was suddenly is in a large city in a very mountainous area he had never been before. Whats more; was the people who in habited the city. Many looked like humans, some humans seemed to have a monkey tail on their backs, strange green aliens with bulky muscle, strange bubble gum like creatures, and even a bizarre alien race that seemed very…cool! Stevens fears were soon shaken off as he was once again blown away by the sighs and being he was now witness to.
"Whaooooo! What IS this place?" he asked with wonder in his voice.
"By the way" spoke the SKoT, "we never got your name have we?"
Steven looked to Trunks and the SKoT. For a second he wasn't sure what to do or say but he was asked his name so the only polite thing to do was answer the question.
"My Name is Steven! Steven Universe!" replied the small Quartz with Gusto.
"Well Steven, Welcome to Conton City. Home of the Time Patrollers!" Trunks said with some enthusiasm. "It's Our duty to protect history and protect everyone's memories!"
The SKoT smiled a soft but caring smile now. "Sorry for being harsh but it seems you've taken a liking to your now position."
Steven Blinked for a second upon hearing that. "New Position?" he asked
SKoT the took on a cheeky smile. "As punishment for unlawfully tampering with history. You are Officially Drafted into the Time Patrol!"
It took a minute for Steven to register what he was just brought into. Stunned, but not by shock but excitement. "I GET TO BE A COOL TIME COP?" Steven asked his excitement having reached new levels of excitement.
"Hmm not just yet." SKoT responded turning around looking toward the sky as if to look for something. "You seem strong from what your past was but for the coming battles, you'll need to get a bit of training." Soon SKoT found what she was looking for, an individual was flying in the air, the time Deity soon waved to the individual to get their attention and thankfully they noticed and begun to decent to where the trio stood.
"Oh is that?" Trunks asked as he seemed to recognize the person SKoT had called over.
"Yep!" responded the small Kaio. "who better to get some training done with one of our other top time patrollers!"
The individual landed in front of the trio, he appeared to be a tall muscular man, with Spikey black hair, a black form fitting shirt, black martial artist pants, blue arm bands and a sash around his waist a rev vest and seemed to be carrying a red pole tied around his body. The man smiled a familiar smile to his two companions before giving the Trio a Greeting.
"Hey It's Me Goku!"

This was fun to make I had this idea in the back of my head for awhile now and I wanted to get started on this. Yes this had similar beats to another SU X Anime story I have posted here but again I wanted to try something new. For any fans of my first story reading this too know ill keep up w/ the first one (I'll probably spend more time on that one and continue with this whenever I finish the other) Till then see you next chapter and check out my other fan story: Straw Hat Crystal Gems!
