Wallace Cup Battle Stage (Part Three)
The Louds, McBrides, Zhaus, Sharp children, along with Dawn and her mother, were relaxing on the beach after Stella and Dawn's victories an hour ago.
"This is the life." said Lola as she was lying on a beach towel.
"Totes." Leni replied while rubbing tanning lotion on her legs.
Stella was lying on her belly on her beach towel, relaxing, when she notices Lincoln just chilling next to her.
"Lincoln." Stella says to her boyfriend.
"Yeah, Stella?" Lincoln replied.
"Mind rubbing some of this on my back and legs?" asked Stella as she holds out a bottle of sunscreen, making Lincoln blush brightly, while his sisters giggle.
"S-sure." Lincoln stutters as he scoots closer to Stella before the girl hands him the bottle of sunscreen.
Dawn watches Lincoln rub the tanning lotion on Stella's back with jealousy on her face.
"So what Pokemon do you think Zoey's going to use in the next round?" asked Luna.
"Well, we know she has that Glameow." said Stella.
"She has a Finneon and a Misdreavus also." said Dawn.
"You think she'll use one of those Pokemon next round or a new one?" asked Lincoln.
"We'll have to wait and see tomorrow." said Stella.
After everyone was done relaxing on the beach, they all head back to the hotel for dinner, which was free thanks to Stella and Lincoln doing the promotion, which the staff are considering getting rid of.
Soon, it was time for bed, and everyone starts heading back to their rooms to rest up for tomorrow. As Lincoln was about to enter his family's room, he feels a hand grab his shoulder that turns him around to see Stella.
"Goodnight, Lincoln." Stella says before she kisses him on the lips.
"Goodnight, Stella." Lincoln replied.
The next morning, after breakfast, everyone heads for the contest hall for the next round of the Wallace Cup.
The Louds, McBrides, Stella's parents, the Sharp children, and Johanna all headed to the spectator seats while Stella and Dawn head backstage.
Later, in the contest hall's main area, Marian was standing in the center of the battle area with a microphone in her hand.
"Ladies and gentlemen; we are here for the semifinals of the Wallace Cup's Battle Stage." said Marian. "Let's see which two coordinators are going first."
Dawn, Stella, Zoey, and a female trainer with long blonde hair, wearing a pink evening gown's images were flashing through two frames on the contest hall's large TV screen; they soon stop, showing that it was Stella vs. the woman.
"And it's Stella Zhau vs Jasmine." said Marian.
Backstage, Stella was getting herself ready for her upcoming battle.
"Here goes nothing." said Stella before she steps out into the contest hall's battle area with Jasmine following after her; the two go to opposite ends of the field.
"Hope you're ready, young lady." Jasmine says to Stella.
"I wouldn't be here if I didn't believe I was." Stella replied.
"Looks like both coordinators are ready." said Marian. "You may both begin."
"Wormadam, time to show everyone what you can do!" said Jasmine as she tosses a pokeball, releasing a dark gray Pokemon covered in leaves and white flowers, in a flurry of green leaves.
"What's that?" asked Lincoln as he points his pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Wormadam, the Bagworm Pokemon, and the evolved form of Burmy. When Burmy evolves, its cloak becomes a part of its body. Wormadam's cloak is never shed." said Lincoln's pokedex.
"Beautifly, it's showtime!" said Stella as she lets out her Beautifly in a blast of confetti.
"Wormadam, use Confusion!" said Jasmine. Her Wormadam's eyes glowed blue as Beautifly becomes covered in a similar-colored aura and is slammed into the ground, doing damage to her, and causing Stella to lose points.
"Beautifly, use Morning Sun, followed by Stun Spore!" said Stella. Beautifly's body glowed white as yellow light erupts from her, healing her wounds; a yellow powder also comes out that shines in the light she was emitting and covers Wormadam, causing paralysis, and Jasmine to lose points due to Stella using an appealing combination of moves.
"Wormadam, use Psybeam!" said Jasmine. Her Wormadam tries to attack, but paralysis stops it, causing Jasmine to lose points due to a failed attack.
"Beautifly, use Air Slash!" said Stella. Beautifly flaps her wings, releasing a blade of wind that hits Jasmine's Wormadam, dealing lots of super effective damage, and causing Jasmine to lose a good chunk of points.
"Wormadam, use Flail!" said Jasmine. Her Wormadam fights through her paralysis and starts thrashing around towards Beautifly.
"Beautifly, fly up to avoid it and use Gust!" said Stella. Her Beautilfy quickly soars up into the air to dodge the incoming attack,then flaps her wings, releasing a gust of wind that hits Wormadam and knocks her to the ground, causing Jasmine to lose points.
"Wormadadm, get up and use..." Jasmine starts to say before a buzzer goes off, indicating that time was up.
"And this round is over!" said Marian. "Let's see who the winner is." Everyone looks at the screen to see that Stella obviously had more points than Jasmine. "And the winner of this semifinal round is Stella Zhau!"
"Woohoo! Way to go, Stella!" said Lincoln.
"That was amazing." said Lola with awe in her voice.
"I'm so happy for her." said Mrs. Zhau.
Stella and Jasmine return their Pokemon to their pokeballs and walk over to each other.
"You're a great coordinator." said Jasmine as she and Stella shook hands.
"Well, I had help from a certain someone." Stella replied as she looks over at Lincoln and winks at him, making the white-haired Loud blush and smile.
"Got a little boyfriend?" asked Jasmine.
"Yes." said Stella. "I love him with all my heart."
Five minutes later, the images of Dawn and Zoey appears on the screen.
"And our remaining semifinalists are Dawn and Zoey. Somewhere backstage, Dawn was taking a deep breath.
"Okay; let's see if I've gotten better since the last time I faced Zoey." said Dawn. She walks out of the waiting room and towards the battle stage.
Moments later, Dawn and Zoey were standing on opposite ends of the battle arena, facing each other.
"It's been a while since the last time we battled each other, Dawn." said Zoey. "Don't expect me to go easy on you."
"It wouldn't be much of a battle if you did." replied Dawn.
"Both coordinators appear to be ready; let this semifinal match begin." said Marian. Dawn and Zoey each pull out a pokeball.
"Go, Gastrodon!" said Zoey, throwing her pokeball and releasing a large, sluglike Pokemon that was brown on its top half and had a pink underside, followed by pink bubbles swirling around it.
"What's that?" asked Sam, taking out her pokedex and pointing it at Zoey's Pokemon.
"Gastrodon, the Sea Slug Pokemon, and the evolved form of Shellos. It apparently had a huge shell for protection in ancient times. It lives in shallow tidal pools." said Sam's pokedex.
"Her Shellos must've evolved." said Clyde.
"Lopunny, spotlight!" said Dawn, throwing her Lopunny's pokeball and releasing her, followed by pink hearts. "Lopunny, use Quick Attack followed by Double Kick!" Lopunny leaps at Gastrodon with incredible speed and rams it, followed by two kicks, causing Zoey to lose points due to Dawn using a combination move.
"Not bad; okay, Gastrodon, use Water Pulse!" said Zoey. Gastrodon forms a ball of blue water in front of its mouth and launches it at Lopunny, hitting her, and causing Dawn to lose points; Lopunny begins to stumble around.
"Lopunny's confused." said Luna.
"Lopunny, use Pound!" said Dawn. Unfortunately, confusion gets the better of Lopunny and he pounds herself, dealing damage, and causing Dawn to lose points due to an attack failing.
"Gastrodon, use Body Slam!" said Zoey. Gastrodon jumps up and comes down towards Lopunny.
"Lopunny, use Splash!" said Dawn. Lopunny fights through her confusion and hops around, causing Gastodon to miss, and Zoey to lose points due to an attack failing.
"Wow; Dawn actually found a use for that move." said Sam.
"So?" asked Simon.
"Splash is considered the most useless of all Pokemon attacks due to not doing anything but make the Pokemon using it to hop around." replied Sam. Lopunny shakes her head, snapping herself out of her confusion.
"Lopunny, use Headbutt followed Baby-Doll Eyes!" said Dawn. Lopunny hops at Gastrodon and rams her head against Gastrodon's, followed by Lopunny staring at Gastrodon's eyes with her sparkling eyes, causing Gastrodon's attack strength to weaken and causing Zoey to lose points due to Dawn using an impressive combination.
"Gastrodon, use Mud-Slap!" said Zoey. Gastrodon releases a stream of mud out of its mouth and it hits Lopunny, damaging it, and lowering her accuracy; Dawn loses some points.
"Lopunny, use Pound!" said Dawn. Lopunny leaps at Gastrodon and tries to pound it, but misses, causing Dawn to lose points.
"Gastrodon, Muddy Water!" said Zoey. Gastrodon releases brown water from beneath it and it hits Lopunny, causing Dawn to lose points.
"Lopunny, Mirror Coat!" said Dawn. Lopunny becomes surrounded by a white aura and deflects the water back at Gastrodon, hitting it, and dealing damage, causing Zoey to lose points due to her Pokemon taking damage, and technically having an attack fail. "Now use Headbutt followed by Double Kick!" Lopunny jumps at Gastrodon and rams her head into it, dealing damage, followed by two kicks, causing Zoey to lose points.
"Gastrodon, use Ancient Power!" said Zoey. Gastrodon becomes surrounded by a silver aura and it forms the aura into a ball; it launches it at Lopunny, hitting her, and dealing damage; Dawn loses more points. Gastrodon begins surging with energy.
"Looks like Ancient Power increased Gastrodon's stats." said Lincoln.
"Lopunny, use Double Kick, followed by Pound!" said Dawn. Lopunny tries to kick Gastrodon, but misses due to her accuracy being lowered my Gastrodon's Mud-Slap, but she was able to pound Gastrodon; both Dawn and Zoey lose points.
"Gastrodon, use Body Slam!" said Zoey. But before Gastrodon could make a move, the buzzer goes off.
"Time's up!" said Marian. "Let's see who's going to the finals." Dawn and Zoey look up at the scoreboard. "It was a close match, but the winner of this semifinal match is Dawn!"
"Yippee!" cheered Dawn.
"You were wonderful, Dawn!" said Johanna.
"That was, literally, great!" said Lori.
"Her Lopunny is so beautiful." said Lola with awe. Zoey stood there with a stunned look on her face before she smiled; she walks to Gastrodon.
"It's okay, Gastrodon; we'll do better in the next contest." said Zoey. She returns Gastrodon to its pokeball and walks to Dawn. "You've definitely gotten a lot better since the Hearthome Contest."
"Thanks, Zoey." said Dawn.
"But next time we battle, I'll beat you." said Zoey.
"And I'll be ready for you." replied Dawn. Both coordinators shook hands before walking off the stage.
"And our finalists for the Wallace Cup Battle Stage are Stella and Dawn!" said Marian. "Be here tomorrow when our two coordinators will battle to decide who takes home the Aqua Ribbon!"
Later, in the lobby; the Louds, Stella's parents, the McBrides, the Sharp children, and Johanna were congratulating Stella and Dawn on their victories.
"You two were, totes, great!" said Leni.
"I can't wait for tomorrow!" said Dawn.
"Yeah, when I win the Aqua Ribbon." said Stella.
"You mean when I win it." Dawn replied.
"Only if I let you." said Stella.
"Okay, you two; save your enthusiasm for tomorrow." said Johanna.
"Let's just go have lunch to celebrate." said Lincoln.
"Sure." said Stella as she hooks one of her arms around one of Lincoln's while Dawn does the same with his other one as she and Stella glare at each other.
Stella and Dawn have made it to the finals of the Wallace Cup. Who will win it and the Aqua Ribbon? Wait and find out.
