Chapter 1: A New Chapter

On the Supreme Kai's planet, the battle for the fate of the universe was reaching its climatic conclusion…the monstrous Majin Buu was stuck in a desperate struggle against the married duo of Goku and Makima. The Saiyan and Devil were giving it everything they had as the universe watched on, praying for their success…

Goku and Makima's power wasn't making the cut. The two were still losing ground to Majin Buu. If this truly was going to be the end, then at least they'd die together!

"Goku! Your energy! We wished for it to be restored!"

The Earthly Saiyan felt his body's exhaustion vanish like the wind. His energy came back to him like a second wind, and he was all too happy to use it! "Yes, I can feel it! THANK YOU, DRAGON BALLS!"

"HYAH!" Goku transformed into a Super Saiyan. He moved his body back to take hold of Makima's right hand, interlocking their fingers. The Control Devil gasped as her husband's energy flowed into her. She felt his golden aura incase itself around her, turning her red hair into a similar golden color. Her yellow spirals took a teal color much like a Super Saiyan.

"Darling!" Makima's entire body was on cloud nine! It was as if her husband was sharing his everything with her for the first time once again. An expression of pure bliss and love graced her features.

"Together, right?" Goku smiled.

"Yes, darling." Makima returned the smile.

"HAH!" Together, husband and wife took control of the struggle, pushing the Spirit Bomb against Buu. Kid Buu let out a startled gasp as the pure energy was pushed into him, none of his power was even capable of fighting back now.

Makima stared down at the pathetic little pink monster that had caused them so much trouble. "I hate you with every fiber of my being. You tortured me, killed me, killed my children, and destroyed our home. However, if it weren't for you then my darling never would've returned to me." Makima met her husband's eyes once more before looking back at Buu. "We wouldn't have our happy ending. So, for that, I'll always be grateful."

Goku's turn for some last words. "You were amazing, Buu. The strongest I've ever faced. I hope you're reborn one day as a good person. That way we can have another one-on-one. I'll be training and waiting… Until then! See ya!"

Buu could only stare at them in horror. For the first time, the monster had been fully consumed by fear.

Goku and Makima gave the final push. "HYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!"

"GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!" Kid Buu gave one last cry as the Spirit Bomb completely engulfed him, erasing Majin Buu entirely. The ultimate attack dragged through the planet like a comet before ascending into the air. The Spirit Bomb reached the darkness of space and exploded, creating a beautifully bright sight of colors for the whole universe to witness.

With Majin Buu defeated, the universe found itself settling in a new era of peace. Goku and friends, who had fought bravely against all odds, were able to return to their daily lives once more.

But, as we all know, peace doesn't last forever. The adventures of Goku, Makima, and all of their allies are far from done. Let us take a look at one of the two paths our heroes will find themselves in. One that will take them down a road of divinity.

Opening 1: Chozetsu Dynamic!

Standing on top of a blackened stage, wearing her usual punkish get-up, Lilith strummed her guitar loudly. The soundwaves caused the arena to quake, eliciting loud cheers and roars from the audience. As the music began to pick up, Lilith ripped the mic from the stand and started her magic.

Don't you want to dream again!

Now it's calling for me to go back to the start!

Makima jumped as a loud crash resounded through the house. She looked up from her paperwork to see Goten and Nayuta had been thrown through the house's wall, destroying their dining room. Goku stuck his head through the hole with a sheepish laugh.

Her two kids and childish husband were now repeatedly apologizing on their knees to her. Makima's stern glare was more than enough to get them to beg for forgiveness.

Wishing on the starlights!

The seven Dragon Balls spread out across the globe, their locations transitioning to the Dragon Radar being held by Bulma. The CEO looked away from the device to smile at her husband and son as they trained.

In the sky, let's paint a door for tomorrow!

Gohan is sitting at a small table outside of a cafe, working on several research reports. He wears glasses, a blue vest with a long white undershirt, and brown slacks with black shoes.

Sitting across from him is his wife Videl. She sports a pink sweater-dress that reaches her upper thighs, with a red stripe around the chest area, along with black tights and bright pink shoes with darker pink soles. The martial arts teacher listens intently to his science jumbles as she drinks her own cup of coffee.

A loud crash is heard across from them. The two look over to see Chainsaw Man and his wife Asa taking down several rampaging Devils. Chainsaw Man cheers loudly before getting smacked across the head by his wife.

Piccolo is seen standing ominously as dark clouds appear above his head.

Just step on the new stage, don't be shy.

Gonna take the challenge of God.

Goku and Vegeta are seen walking towards a bright blue opening in the sky.

Coming down from that opening are four individuals. Two of them with bright blue skin, dressed in divine garb, each holding a long staff. The other two were humanoid cat-like creatures with similar divine-looking pants. The skinnier one of the two looked down at the Saiyans with an expectant expression across his face.

Goku and Vegeta charged into battle with loud roars.

Kyo-Let's Mo-Let's Dynamic!

Let's! Go! Go! Big panic!

Goku and Vegeta battle against Freeza Force Soldiers, beating them down with effortless ease. Makima appears next, her chains tore through several soldiers before discarding them like yesterday's trash.

I don't care about limits, no regrets!

Goku released a powerful roar, transforming into a Super Saiyan. His energy rippled the air like a tsunami crashing through the lands.

Make me tougher even though I lose!

Hercule's championship belt shines brightly along his waist. His boastful laughter can be heard all over. A weird-looking alien guy dressed in police attire appeared next to him, doing a strange pose. That was until Power and Majin Buu appeared, knocking the two over, the fiend's cat clutched tightly on her owner's back.

Gotenks flashed his cheeky grin until Nayuta kicked him across the head, causing the fusion to split back into Goten and Trunks.

Nothing' gonna stop me no mo'. Try me.

Gohan leaped into the air, powering up to his max output. His body no longer required the Super Saiyan state to reach full power.

Goten and Nayuta appeared next, transforming into Super Saiyans with mighty roars.

Son Goku flashed between his children and transformed into his Super Saiyan 3 state.

So-Zets! Cho-Zets! Dynamic!

As Goku took his battle stance, flashes of divine energy could be seen coming from his body. His hair and eyes shifted to a bright red color, far different from all of his other forms.

Something greater is waiting not so far away!

As Shenron flew across the planet, Goku, his friends, and family could be seen flying alongside the wish granting dragon.

Lilith finished strumming her guitar and threw down the mic. She released one last rallying cry to ramp up the audience. This was the start of a brand-new journey, one that would take a turn to divinity and more.

Standing in the middle of a grassy field, Son Goku stood quietly as the breeze softly blew past him. Though he may seem tranquil and quiet on the outside, the confines of his mind were a different story entirely. As someone who prided himself on his fighting abilities, he knew that simply training his physical body wouldn't provide him with the adequate results. Thus, he took the time to engage in mental training as well.

Powered up into his Super Saiyan state, Goku dodged a barrage of death beams from the mental copies of Cell and Freeza. He teleported behind the two and smacked them away with a wide kick to their backs. He felt a presence behind him and dodged a pink fist that would've bashed his skull in. Turning around, Goku could see the mental copy of Kid Buu giggling like a madman. The evil copy charged forward with a punch that made the Saiyan shiver slightly and grin in satisfaction. "Mental copy or not, you still feel just as powerful as the original! It's been 3 years since, and I can't help but get excited at the prospect of fighting you again!"

He pushed back and jumped away from the Majin copy. Cupping his hands, Goku charged up his signature attack. "Ka! Me! Ha! Me-GUH!" Goku coughed out as an unseeable force lodged itself into his stomach.

Like a flash of light, Goku felt his mental concentration shatter like glass. In reality, he buckled over on the grass, clutching his poor stomach. "Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow!"

"Ha! See, Goten, I told you I can make him fall over in just one hit!"

"No fair, Nayuta, you caught Dad off guard!"

"He's the one who always said not to let our guards down! Not my fault Papa can't take his own advice!"

After a few seconds of regaining his breath, Goku slowly sat up on the grass to see the faces of his children. The two hadn't changed much physically in the past four years but there were still some differences.

Nayuta stylized her hair into messy pigtails; they took a 'razor' appearance at the ends. She wears a purple GI with an orange sash tied around the waist, and a purple skirt with black shorts underneath. She wears small boots similar to his own except with pink laces to keep them tightly worn.

Goten, at the request of Makima, had started growing out his hair to avoid looking like an exact copy of his father. He wears a similar orange GI to the one he had before, but without the blue undershirt, leaving him with a sleeveless top. He wears orange pants with a dark blue sash tied around his waist and black shoes. Tied around his upper body is his father's Power Pole, which was gifted to him as a birthday present.

Rubbing his stomach, Goku chuckled at his daughter. "Nice one, Nayuta! You're definitely getting stronger!"

The female hybrid blushed a bit, turning away. "O-of course, I am, Papa! I have to make sure Goten doesn't get stronger than me! It'd be an embarrassment for an older sibling!"

"You're only three seconds older than me!" Goten pouted.

"All that matters is that I'm older, dunderhead!"

Knowing how often the twins get into arguments, the father of three quickly interrupted before he'd be stuck there listening to them for hours. "So, kids, what do you guys need? I was in the middle of image training."

"Oh! Mama wants to talk to you about something, so she told us to come get you. We tried calling for you but you were distracted, so I punched you." Nayuta explained.

"I see, alright then!" Goku got to his feet, brushing off his clothes. "Better not keep your Mom waiting then!" He holds out his arm for them to take while the other fingers touch his forehead. "C'mon, I'll teleport us back home."

"Hey, Dad, do you think you could teach us Instant Transmission?" Goten asked as he and his sister grabbed his arm.

Goku hummed, thinking back to the difficult training he had gone through to learn this skill. It required a lot of patience, diligence, and skill that his children currently didn't have. "Maybe when you're older?"

"I'll hold you to that, Papa!"

"Hehe! I'm sure you will!"

The three vanish from the field as if they were never there.

"Careful, Gohan!"

"I know, I know-W-WUAAAAA!"

CRASH!

"Ugh…" Videl groaned as she watched her fiancé drop the huge stack of books he had been carrying through the hall. One of the strongest people in the universe and yet he still had the habit of falling on his ass like a goof. Eh, it was one of the reasons she had fallen in love with him in the first place. Currently, the two of them were at the cathedral trying to get things ready for their wedding that would be happening next month, and her husband-to-be was being a jittery mess at the moment.

Videl walked over to him, helping the oldest of the Son Family pick up the dropped boxes. "Seriously, Gohan, there's no reason to stress out so much. Everything's going to be fine."

Picking himself up off the floor, the nerdy hybrid released a soft breath. "I know, but still, I want it to be perfect…ya know? I don't want you to be disappointed on such a monumental occasion."

Setting the boxes aside, the champion's daughter softly touched his face. "Gohan, our wedding is just as important for you as it is for me. You don't have to be super concerned about making it all about me, because I also want it to be perfect for you."

"Then-"

"And stressing ourselves out about it is doing us no favors. Also, I'm pretty sure my Dad and Kobeni are stressing out about it enough for the both of us." Videl added.

"...True." Gohan relented. He thought back to when the two had announced their engagement to everyone. His family had been relatively tame about it, while Videl's side of the family was freaking out about ensuring it was the most perfect thing ever. It was a blessing that his mom was ensuring that Hercule didn't go overboard when it came to setting up the venue. "I guess, I'm just nervous. The closer we get to the date, the more I can't help but wonder if I really deserve to be this happy."

"Of course, you deserve to be happy, Gohan. After everything that's happened in your life, you deserve it more than anyone. I'm sure everyone else would agree too." Videl reassured him.

"...I guess."

"Have you talked to your Dad about this? I'm sure he could give you some insight to calm your fears."

Gohan scratched the back of his head. "W-well…not really. I mean, he was there when we told him about the engagement and wedding, after all. But I haven't really considered talking to him about all of this stuff. My Dad isn't really the type of person who you would go to about this stuff."

"C'mon, Gohan, he's been through a wedding himself. During times like these, our parents are the only ones we can pretty much rely on." Videl said.

"Did you talk to your Dad about all of your feelings on this?"

"Oh, hell no. I talked to your Mom."

"HUUUH?!"

"Yeah, it was pretty awkward."

Videl nervously sat in front of Makima, sitting in the woman's office at the Division Building. Not a single word had been exchanged other than a simple greeting, and it was really unsettling the champion's daughter. Makima's intoxicating eyes just stared at her with that same creepy smile she's always had. Videl didn't know how she should start the conversation, which is a familiar sentiment whenever she had to interact with Makima. Deciding to just nip the bud, so that she wouldn't be sitting here all day, Videl leaned forward. "So, Makima-"

"Mother."

"Eh?"

"Call me 'Mother'." Makima said. "You're marrying my son, after all."

"R-right, uh, Mother…" Videl felt the familiar yet unfamiliar taste of the word. After losing her own mother it felt weird to use again for someone else. But it was a feeling she was going to have to swallow and get used to. "I just wanted some advice on-"

"How to please a man?"

"I'm sorry?"

Yellow and black orbs stared at one another as silence overtook the office again.

"Most uncomfortable twenty minutes of my life." Videl finished her tale. Her fiancé was groaning into his hands, clearly understanding his mother's behavior after living with her for so long.

"I'm so sorry about that, Videl." Gohan apologized.

The female fighter waved it off. "It's fine. She actually gave me some sound advice after getting her 'fun'."

"If Mom can't physically torture someone for enjoyment, she'll find other ways to get her fun." Gohan shook his head. "What did she tell you, though?"

"That the only thing I should be focused on is you." Videl closed the gap between them. Pressing herself against the man she loved. "When she was preparing herself for her wedding with your Dad, all she could think about was the life they would live. While everything didn't exactly happen the way she had hoped, she would never regret the life she built with him."

Gohan smiled as he thought about his parents. Their love was undoubtable, built upon mutual trust and respect. Two people of completely different species joined together to live a life that would make them happy. It was a life he wanted with Videl more than anything.

"We shouldn't be worried about the things that could go wrong, because no matter what happens, we'll always have each other to rely on." Videl said.

"Okay, I'll do it. I'll talk to my Dad later." Gohan admitted defeat.

"Good!" Videl broke their hug, patting him on the shoulder. "I'm certain that your talk with him will do you some good! I'll leave you to it." She turns to leave the cathedral.

"Wait, where are you going?" Gohan asked.

"Erasa and Asa want to do some last minute finalizations on some personal matters in regards to the wedding. All girl stuff that I wouldn't want to bore you with." Videl quickly waved goodbye. "Just focus on talking to your Dad!"

Gohan watched his wife-to-be rush out of the cathedral with a confused look. "Huh… I wonder what they could be talking about."

Deep inside of the confines of Hell, within the castle of the Death Devil, the woman herself was in the middle of her most difficult challenge yet. One that will test her authority and mental fortitude far more than anything else.

"So, do you think Gohan and our niece-to-be would appreciate punk rock or hard metal at the reception?" Lilith asked.

Looking up from her table of food, Fami gave her big sister a lazy glance. "Neither." Then went back to her food.

"You could at least try and suggest an alternative." Lilith said.

"I don't know anything about music…unless it involves food, then I'm your gal." Fami responded as she swallowed a chunk of spaghetti.

"We really have to put you on a diet, baby sis."

"Don't call me that." Fami said, but her desire went ignored immediately.

"So, look, baby sis, I want to help make our nephew's wedding as memorable as possible. And considering I can only be in the realm of the living for so long before every living creature succumbs to the sweet embrace of death, I need to make this time memorable." Lilith explained.

"Then don't show up. Nobody wants you there."

"I can literally tear your soul into an unrecognizable abomination that not even Makima or some wish granting dragon will be capable of fixing."

"Just sing a song that they both like." Fami corrected herself, her expression not even changing.

Lilith hummed softly as she thought the idea over. "A song that both Gohan and Videl like…?" The idea was sound, and made since to target a cord within the soon-to-be newly weds. "Fine, I'll go with that. Do you know the kind of music they like?"

"Wow, you don't even know what kind of music your nephew likes? What a terrible aunt."

"You have five seconds to start running."

Fami quickly scooped up three plates of fried chicken before bolting out of the dining hall. Lilith looked down at her watch, counting down the seconds, then bolted out the doors to beat the shit out of her little sister.

"Hey, Makima!"

The matriarch of the Son Family looked up from her paperwork to see her husband and children teleport into the living room. She stood from the table, revealing the white sleeveless top and denim shorts she was wearing. "Darling."

"The kids said you needed something, what's wrong?" Goku asked. Their children walked over to the counter as their parents started conversing. Nayuta grabbed the cookie jars that Makima had left out for them and gave the other to her brother.

"Nothing's wrong, darling, but I need your help with something. Do you remember when Mr. Satan came by a few days ago to give us that money?" Makima reminds him.

Goku closed his eyes, thinking hard about the previous few days. "Uhh…yeah, I think I do. He wanted to thank us for beating Buu, right?"

"That's exactly it."

"What does the money have to do with anything? I thought you said it was going towards Gohan's wedding, the kids' school stuff, and food?" Goku asked.

"Oh, it is." Makima answered as she turned back around to the table. She picked up a piece of paper and presented it to her husband. He stared at it for a moment, clearly not understanding what he was looking at. "It's a construction plan, darling."

"Oh! Why is it so important?"

She rolled her eyes, then pointed at the words above the plans, clearly the title. It took him another few seconds to read it over before realizing what she was talking about. "Ah, now I see! You want to build Gohan and Videl a house, right?"

"Exactly, darling. As a wedding gift, Mr. Satan had the idea of building the two a house to live in, however, he wanted to build the two a huge mansion. I managed to convince him that the two didn't need anything extravagant and a simple house big enough to support a family of 3 or 5 was more than enough."

"3 or 5? Isn't there just two of them?"

"Papa's dumb." Nayuta comments as she munches on a cookie.

"But there's only two of them, Nayuta." Goten said.

"You're dumb too." She scoffed at her brother.

Makima shook her head. "Don't worry about that part, darling. I just need you to go to the plot of land that I had marked and clean it out. There's an infestation of dinosaurs around that area that are preventing the construction company from getting close."

"Just dinosaurs?" Goku tilted his head. "If that's the case, then how come you can't do it?" He immediately regretted the question when his wife's strained smile was directed at him.

"Darling, I already have to plan out this wedding that is going to happen very soon, keep the Satans from turning it into a global wide holiday, ensure that there's enough food to feed the several bottomless pits that are going to be present, ensure that no foolish unregistered Devils get in the way, and finish up several stacks of paperwork." With each point, the Control Devil closed the distance between herself and Goku. The Earthly Saiyan could see the strain around her eyes, evidence of her overworking herself. "So, please, have a role in your son's soon-to-be-married life and get rid of those dinosaurs, okay?"

"R-right, my bad, Makima!" Goku laughed, scratching the back of his head. "I'll take care of it before you know it!"

"Good." She settled down with a pleased look. "Goten and Nayuta know where it is, since they were with me when I picked it out. Just follow them."

"Alright!" Goku nodded, then turned to his kids. "Okay, you two, let's go get rid of some dinosaurs!"

"Cool!" Goten exclaimed.

Nayuta held up the cookie jars. "Can we take these with us?"

"Just bring the jars back." Makima said.

"Yes!" She and Goten hurried out the door with their dad right behind them. Makima watched them leave, a bit of worry burning in the back of her mind.

"Should I be worried? Well, I'm sure they won't cause too much damage. Perhaps they'll clear some of the area for a backyard pool." Makima shrugged and returned to her work.

"There it is, Papa!" Nayuta pointed down at the decently sized grassy clearing. The trio could see several large dinosaurs loitering around the area, clearly ensuring that their territory remained as theirs.

Goten finished his jar of cookies and was trying to pour the crumbs in his mouth. "There's a lot of them too!"

"We can handle them pretty easily. Okay, you two handle the ones around the edges of the clearing. I'll go for the big guys near the center."

"No fair, how come you get the big guys, Papa?!" Nayuta complained.

"Yeah, totally unfair, Dad!" Goten agreed.

Goku listened to their complaints and tried to think of a solution. A lightbulb went off above his head, indicating that he managed to think of something. "Okay, then, how about this? The one who beats the most gets to eat the largest one for dinner?"

Clearly this idea was the most preferred by the way their eyes lit up. "Okay, you're on, Dad! I'm gonna win this one!" Goten exclaimed, his aura lighting up around him.

"Hah?! As if, Goten, I'm winning this thing! The queen deserves the biggest spoils of war!" Nayuta declared.

"But you're not royalty, Nayuta, Trunks is!"

Nayuta punched her little brother down towards the dinosaurs, already unwilling to deal with his nonsense. Goten crashed on top of a Spinosaurus, disrupting its slumber. The ancient beat awoke with a startled roar, alerting the rest of the historical beasts that there was an intruder.

"Whoops! Did I wake you guys up?" Goten laughed. He jumped into the air, flipping over the Pterodactyl that tried to swoop in to eat him. His foot smashed into its back, smashing the flying monster into the dirt. Goten pulled out the Power Pole and stuck it into an Utaraptor's mouth, causing its mouth to be stuck open. As the beast thrashed around in distress, Goten unleashed a barrage of KI blasts down its throat to kill it. More started coming towards him, so Goten cupped his hands and fired off a Kamehameha to blow them away.

Nayuta flew down next, swirling around to blitz through the beasts. Wind kicked up from her speed, knocking over the T-Rex that tried to catch her between its jaws. She spun around and kicked it in the neck, killing it instantly. With two balls of KI vibrating in her palms, she tossed them forward to blow more dinosaurs away.

Goku appeared between a T-Rex and several Carcharodontosaurs. The huge creatures tried to tear him limb from limb with their jaws, but he effortlessly evaded their attempts. Goku grabbed a Carcharodontosaurus by its tail and started swinging it around like a ragdoll, its weight meaning nothing to his strength. He bashed each dinosaur down with his victim, then slapped around to stack onto a huge pile. With a shout, Goku blew them away with a strong burst of KI.

It didn't take long for the Son trio to clear out the field of dinosaurs, their might was far too much for the beasts to handle. Some of them even started running away in fear of getting killed by the Sons.

"Hey, don't run away, cowards!" Nayuta yelled.

Goku waved it off. "Eh, it's fine. All that matters is that we cleared out the area." He looked around, seeing that there weren't any dinos left. "Yup! A job well done!"

"So, who got the most?" Goten asked.

The three stared at each other.

"Did either of you two keep count?" Nayuta asked.

"Hm…guess, I forgot." Goku laughed, scratching the back of his head.

"Me too!" Goten copied his father.

Nayuta shook her head. "I guess this is why it's important to have someone with brains with you. As Mama would say, I'm the second best hope of this family after Gohan."

"When did she say that?" Goten asked.

"After you and Papa flooded the house in maple syrup."

"That was a fun day." Goku rubbed his stomach as he thought back to the incident. His wife wasn't happy though when she came back to a house full of maple syrup. Took a few days to clean it all up.

RUMBLE!

"Huh?" The three looked down, seeing the ground beneath them cracking and rising up. Goku, Nayuta, and Goten leaped into the air before the ground exploded. Rising from the ruined soil was a large creature with a malicious aura. It looked like a rotting T-Rex, bones and flesh hanging and smelling, with a size that could rival a skyscraper.

"Woah! What the heck are you?!" Goten asked.

"Me?! I'm the Dino Devil! The manifestation of humanity's fear of dinosaurs!" The Devil roared.

Nayuta rolled her eyes. "Wow, I'm soooo afraid!"

"You should be terrified of me, child! With my army of dinosaurs, I'll kill the three of you quickly for even daring to-eh?" Dino Devil scanned the clearing. "W-where did they all go?! I had an army of dinosaurs right here!"

"Oh, those guys? We just beat them." Goku answered.

"E-eh…?" Dino blinked.

"Yeah! They weren't really all that strong!" Goten added.

"N-n-not that strong…?"

"Weaklings~! They were weakings~!" Nayuta mocked loudly.

Dino Devil shook his head to erase the building fear in him. "T-there's no way some measly humans could've destroyed my entire army!"

"Not humans, but sure, we'll let you think that." Nayuta smirked.

"Fear me, fools! I possess the powers of every dinosaur in existence!" Dino declared.

"Really?! You must be pretty strong then!" Goku smiled.

"Of course!"

Goten scratched his head in thought. "But what kind of powers do dinosaurs even have?" His question made Dino freeze in place.

"None." Nayuta's bored response cut into the rogue Devil's heart. "They can bite hard, run fast, swim fast, and fly. Nothing that we can't already do."

Dino's face was growing hot red, but nobody could tell if it was from embarrassment or anger. "Stupid, brat! How dare you insult dinosaurs?! We're the mightiest creatures to exist, and even more so with my place as a Devil!"

Nayuta smirked, and crossed her arms. "In that case, let's fight then. Show me the almighty powers of the dinosaurs. I'll even let you get the first hit in, but let me warn you, if you waste it-"

BAM!

Her body didn't even budge from the Devil's tail swing. Dino trembled slightly as Nayuta gripped his tail, slowly increasing the pressure, her sadistic glee terrifyingly present. "You're gonna regret it."

Gohan arrived at his parents' house and knocked on the door. He waited for a few minutes for someone to answer the door.

"Gohan, you don't need to knock to enter this house."

Sighing a bit, since he just wanted to show his good manners, Gohan opened the door to his family's home to see his mother sitting at the table. "Hey, Mom, how are you?"

"Just fine as always." Makima responded. "Sorry for the mess, but I have work to finish."

Used to seeing his mother buried in paperwork, Gohan didn't have an issue with it. "Don't worry, Mom, I don't want to take up too much of your time. I just need to find Dad."

"He's off on an errand with the twins. They should be back soon."

"What kind of errand?"

"It's nothing exciting, so don't worry about it." Makima had already hidden the construction plans to ensure her son wouldn't find out. "But what's wrong that you need to speak to your Father?"

Gohan took a seat at the table, scratching his head. "O-oh, it's nothing big. Videl just suggested that I should talk to him about my worries about marriage."

"I see. She told you about our talk, didn't she?"

"Yes, and please stop creeping her out, Mom. You're the only person who finds it funny."

Makima shrugged. "I'll tone it down a bit." Knowing that was the best he was going to get, Gohan relaxed.

SLAM!

"MOOOOM! WE BROUGHT A DEAD BODY!"

"DON'T SAY IT LIKE THAT, GOTEN!"

"Hehe! It's a big one too!"

"You're not helping either, Papa!"

Makima stood up from the table. "Seems they're back. Come on." Gohan followed his mother out of the house to see the huge dead dinosaur body they had brought back. The three were standing proudly in front of the corpse.

"We've brought dinner, Mom!"

"Children, we're not eating a Devil's corpse."

"It's not cannibalism! Auntie Fami said it's okay to eat other Devils!" Nayuta defended their actions.

"Get rid of the body."

"UGH!" The twins complained loudly, but their mother wasn't budging on the subject. The twins dragged the dead body away to dispose of it, while Goku approached his wife and oldest son.

"Hey, Gohan, when did you get here?" Goku asked.

"Just a few minutes ago." Gohan answered.

"Cool! You're gonna stay for dinner?"

"I mean, I could, but I actually came here to talk to you, Dad." Gohan said.

Seeing as this should just be a conversation between them, Makima turned away. "I'm going to make sure the twins actually get rid of the body." She knew from experience of their attempts to hide things from her.

"So, what did you want to speak about?" Goku asked.

Rubbing the back of his neck, Gohan tried to think of how to word his question. He didn't really expect much in terms of words. "Dad, were you scared?"

"Scared of what?"

"Marriage? When you and Mom were getting married, did it scare you?"

Goku took a moment to answer, clearing having to think back to all those years ago. "Not really. I was more confused if anything."

"Confused?"

"Yeah, I didn't understand marriage at all. The others had to spend a lot of time explaining it to me to get it." Goku chuckled faintly.

"So, you weren't scared, nervous, worried that you're not enough for her?" Gohan listed off his own worries, surprised to see the look of worry cross his father's face. It wasn't that he didn't think his dad didn't care for him, he knew his father loved him, but these emotions weren't things he's used to seeing from the man often.

Goku raised a hand, holding it out for Gohan. "Punch it."

"What?"

"Punch my hand with everything you've got."

"Dad, I'm not gonna-"

"Okay, then."

Suddenly, Gohan felt himself getting launched into the air, hissing at the pain in his chest. He quickly corrected himself and crossed his arms to block a punch from his father. "Dad, what the hell?!"

"Better fight back, Gohan! I'm not gonna hold back!" The orange hero transformed into a Super Saiyan. He started beating down on his son with a strong barrage of punches that knocked the hybrid back. "You've been keeping up with your training, right?! C'mon, already!"

Hissing slightly, Gohan tried to defuse the situation. "Dad, I'm not in the mood for a sparring match! I'm trying to talk to you!"

"We are talking!" His father teleported behind him with a kick that blasted him far into the sky. Using Instant Transmission again, Goku slammed his son back down towards the Earth. "Fight back, Gohan!"

Growling in anger, the hybrid stopped his descent. "Fine, then! I'll give you everything I've got! HAAAH!" Gohan's aura exploded, cratering the ground below from the force. He vanished from Goku's sight, surprising the full-blooded Saiyan. Goku gasped when his son's fist buried itself in his stomach, knocking the air from his lungs.

Gohan pulled back and kicked his father across the face, then chased him down to smack him down into the trees below. Goku caught himself on a branch, spinning on it for a moment to launch himself back into the air. Father and son clashed fists, shaking the air around them like shivering glass. Their clash was an intense blur of blows that the normal spectator would fail to keep up with. Goku grunted against Gohan's blows before getting knocked away once again. He smirked at his son's prowess, feeling extremely proud.

"Masenko-Ha!" Gohan fired his teacher's technique at his father. The beam never connected due to Goku teleporting out of the way. He swung around, expecting Goku to teleport behind him but his attack only struck the air. "What?!"

"Above!" Goku's elbow crashed into the top of his head. Gohan spiraled downwards, then felt his father continuously knocking him around with teleportation. The hybrid forced himself to stop and raised an arm to block Goku's kick. The Earthly Saiyan smirked. "You're still keeping up, Gohan! Good!"

"Dad, this is ridiculous! Can't we just talk?!"

"We are talking, son!" Goku threw another kick that pushed his son back. Then fired off several blasts that forced Gohan to block.

"This isn't talking, this is just fighting!" Gohan argued.

"Same thing!" Goku responded.

"HYAH!" Gohan screamed, shooting his own blast at his father. Goku deflected the attack which left him open for Gohan's rush. Goku tried to block most of the punches thrown his way, but one of them struck pretty hard. He was thrown back towards the ground and crashed, skidding across the grass outside the house.

Goku dropped back down to base, wincing at the wound on his cheek. "Yeeesh, Gohan! You really have some hard punches!"

After lowering down to the ground, Gohan allowed his own power to drop. He looked disappointed at the situation. "I really just wanted to talk, Dad. This marriage with Videl means a lot but you're not understanding me."

"But we were talking, Gohan."

"Yeah, before the fight happened."

"No, even during the fight we were talking." Goku got up to his feet, dusting off his GI. "I gotta say, you're all jumbled up over the wrong stuff."

Okay, he was really confused now. "What do you mean, Dad?"

"When we were fighting, you took a second, but you eventually responded back with equal strength. The longer it went on, the more you tried to get the edge. We had a conversation with our fists." Goku smiled as he explained. "It's just like marriage!"

"...Huh?" A question mark appeared above the hybrid's head.

"There were times when me and your Mom first got married that I really struggled to understand her. But I figured if I thought about everything as if it were a fight, then finding the solution would be easy."

Gohan nodded his head. "I-I think I'm getting it. Basically, I have to look at any problems that appear in a different light to find the solution."

Goku stepped forward, placing a hand on his son's shoulder. "Gohan, just like in a fight, you gotta give this everything you've got. It's gonna be a challenge and you're gonna make mistakes, but as long as you get back up and learn from your mistakes, then you'll be fine. You and Videl are gonna be alright."

"Just get back up and try again, huh? That really does sound like Dad. Even when he's in a tough spot or loses, he just gets back up and looks for another solution to win. I guess, we did have a conversation, after all." Gohan smiled, then wrapped his arms around his father. Goku was a bit surprised but then returned the hug. "Thanks, Dad."

"No problem, son." Goku said.

CLAP!

The two turned to see Makima and the twins stepped out from the trees, having watched the entire exchange. "Good, I'm glad the two of you were able to have this talk."

Goku and Gohan smiled, pleased by her words.

Then her smile vanished as quickly. "But what did I say about fighting on my lawn?" She pointed at the dirt skid trail, and burn marks left from KI blasts.

Father and son were sweating heavily as the clear pants-wearer in this family stood there patiently waiting for their response. "U-uuuhhhh…! HE DID IT!" Goku and Gohan pointed at each other.

As Makima just pinched the bridge of her nose, the twins laughed at the two older men. Goku and Gohan just laughed nervously while scratching the back of their heads.

BELLS!

"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride."

Cheers and whistles echoed in the cathedral as Gohan and Videl sealed their marriage in a soft passionate kiss. Goku and Makima watched on with proud smiles, happy for their son's next step in his life. Across from them, Hercule was crying loudly, never believing he'd see the day he had to marry his daughter off. But he couldn't be prouder for her and was happy that she had someone like Gohan to be in her life. Next to him, Majin Buu just clapped his hands, barely understanding what was going on. Kobeni and her brother, Nobana, were crying just as heavily as Hercule.

The wedding's reception was being held at the Son's household. The entire clearing outside of the house had been transformed into a huge party with music, tables, food, and more to keep the guests busy.

Asa and Aki watched in embarrassment as Denji and Power had a contest to see who could drink the most alcoholic punch. Their competition came to an abrupt end when Himeno suddenly joined and beat the two without even breaking a sweat. The two hybrids were now left to the mercy of Goten, Trunks, Nayuta, and Marron, who were drawing crude images on their faces.

Piccolo, Yoru, and Vegeta kept to the back to avoid being stuck in a crowd. However, that wouldn't last for long when Goku came by to talk with them. Piccolo left immediately with the excuse to talk to Gohan, Yoru vanished back to the retreats of Asa's head, and Vegeta was left dealing with his rival's ramblings. Makima made sure to keep an eye on the corner to ensure the full-blooded Saiyans didn't devolve into a fight.

Fami and Majin Buu were practically glued to the twenty buffet tables, scarfing down whatever they could get their hands on. Chiaotzu was almost swallowed by Majin Buu, who had mistaken him for a powdered donut, but was luckily saved by Tien.

Lazuli conversed with Bulma and Makima, the three discussing the matters of how soon the Control Devil could expect grandchildren. Makima had to correct them that 'when' wasn't the question, but 'how many' was the better one.

Krillin, Yamcha, and the rest were giving their congratulations to the married couple. Said couple appreciated all of the support and appearances of the people in their lives. But it felt like something was missing.

POOF!

"Hello?! Did someone call for a musician?!" Lilith appeared on the stage suddenly, kicking up a shit ton of dust everywhere. The three other Horsemen's moods soured heavily just from her obnoxious need to make an entrance.

"Why are you here?" Makima asked.

"It's my nephew's wedding, duh!"

"You weren't on the invite list. I specifically left you off of the list." Makima said.

Lilith waved it off. "I invited myself, the guest of honor."

"The guest of being a pain in the ass." Yoru cursed.

"Unnecessary." Fami shook her head.

Lilith flipped off her sisters before turning back to the newlyweds. "Hello, Gohan, Videl! I hope you two have been having a wonderful wedding!"

"Uh, we're doing great, Auntie Lilith!" Gohan responded.

"Yes, thank you, but why are you here?" Videl asked.

"Duh! I'm gonna perform for you guys! I have the perfect song in mind, one I know you guys are going to love."

"I swear…"

"Just chill, baby sis." Lilith looked pretty serious for once. "I wouldn't ruin this for them."

Makima stared at her big sister for a moment before releasing a breath. "Fine. I'll let you have this."

"Go ahead, Auntie!" Gohan yelled.

Lilith smirked, strumming her guitar. As the melody of her music ensnared the area, everyone couldn't help but admit to how strong it felt. Even her sisters were finding the music to be enjoyable so far. She leaned towards the mic and let her words do the rest.

I see all these kids as I walk to school

Their colorful backpacks so unique and cool

Goku thought back to his own journey, to where he was now. He looked to his friends and his family, admiring the way they've all changed and yet still stayed the same. Goku couldn't believe that there was a time where he wanted to stay out of their lives.

I can't help but wonder which color I choose

If I still were a kid, where would I run off to?

He stared at Gohan and Videl, and the happy looks on their faces. Goku could still remember the little boy who would cling to his leg in fear of a stranger. Now his son was one of the strongest people he knew. Far stronger than he ever was at that age. He was happy, he was grown, and he was strong.

Hello, hello, hello –

How am I looking now that I've grown into an adult?

Goku remembered when he first introduced Gohan to his friends. The looks on their faces upon finding out he was a dad was pretty funny.

He looked back on when he first met Goten and Nayuta. The two barely trusted him back then, seeing him as nothing but a stranger, but now they loved him just as much as he did them. Goku was able to build a bond with them.

Hello, hello, hello –

Do I look like I'm proud of who I've finally become?

Goku, Makima, and their kids had moved to the front of the stage. Nayuta sat on his lap, fully engrossed in Lilith's music. Gohan and Videl moved up as well to join them in the front.

Oh, I know I've made mistakes, but I'm trying to get it right,

The Briefs, Piccolo, and Krillin's' family stood behind the Sons, wanting to get a better position to hear the music.

And I'm willing just to wait for the moment I can shine!

Everyone else soon followed as well. Asa/Yoru, the Hayakawas, Fami, the Satans, the Z-gang, and the rest of the invites were all grouped together.

This anthem is the story of all time!

As Lilith finished the song, Goku looked over to see a cameraman that was invited getting ready to take a photo. The Earthly Saiyan gave a bright smile, seemingly the only one to have noticed him.

With a new chapter of their lives started, Goku could only wonder what exactly was gonna happen next. Whatever it'll be, he knows it'll be exciting!

Chapter End

NOTE: I hope you all enjoyed the first chapter! Pretty different from how everything actually starts in Super. Anyway, this is more of a prologue if anything. Which is why Goku points out '3 years' instead of '4'. Next chapter will be the beginning of Battle of Gods.

Don't worry about openings. I'll only do them at the start of an arc to signify there's a change in the story.

Have a great day!
