Prologue

The thought of it rang throughout his mind over and over and over until he felt as if he'd heard it a thousand times.

"..Leave the village?", his eyes showed he did not understand.

"..Why would I-", he was cut off when Tsunade put up her hand and sighed.

After a long pause, she opened her teary eyes.

"Naruto, it's not up to you. I'm forcing you to leave for your own good."

At that, Naruto narrowed his eyes. He'd only just gotten back from the hospital after successfully bringing Sasuke back to the village and she was telling him to leave for good.

"How could this be for my own good?", he said with a broken voice, on the verge of tears.

Tsunade sighed an exasperated sigh. She had dealt with the most paperwork of her life in these past few days and now this.

"Look Naruto, there are things going on that I cannot tell you. I can only protect you in this way even with my being the Hokage. Please, don't make this hard and just get your things and leave by noon tomorrow.".

Naruto's eyes widened. 'Noon tomorrow?', he thought. Without another word to Tsunade, he leapt out the window and hurried home.

He hadn't spent long packing as he hadn't had many possessions to begin with.

As soon as he was done packing he decided he'd leave early, seeing as he clearly was not wanted.

He ran as fast as he could to the western wall and climbed up using his chakra.

Once he was atop the wall, he leaped down into the nearby woods and ran for days on end, even accidentally pulling the Kyubi's chakra so as to not pass out from exhaustion.

After running for countless days and living off the land, passing many villages but not stopping because he didn't know if they were affiliated with Leaf or not, Naruto passed out.

He woke up in the back of a cart being pulled by a horse with a rider.

"..Where..am I..?", Naruto asked, obviously weary of the man on the horse.
