I don't own anything, it's owned by the respective owners.

A/N: I was actually inspired to make this story by reading Heartbreaker by Laylaandotherassotedlovesongs. Hopefully, I didn't actually misspell that but do give their story a read. I also wanted to add my own twist to Natsu's backstory to hopefully keep things interesting and shake it up. Natsu is and will be stronger. A few characters fate's will also be shifted around due to Natsu's change in backstory. However, it'll still be Natsu and Erza getting together. Essentially this will be my version of Fairy Tail and Heartbreaker if that makes sense. I do hope you guys like this and I hope you can support the author that inspired me to make this book. Give them love and support.

Now without further ado, let's get this started.

Year X370.

A dragon with yellow scales would open its eye to reveal amber color iris's. The Dragon saw two humans stand before her.

"Freya it's good to meet you." The person spoke.

"What the hell do you want?" She got straight to the point.

"I need you to take responsibility and raise my little brother." He stated.

Freya began to cackle at the request. She thought it was a joke but this man had remain serious. When the child looked up at him with confusion did she actually calm down. The Dragon looked down as she narrowed both eyes at the male.

"You can't be serious? I was going to let you live for telling me a good joke but now that you are serious. I might as well kill you both." Freya said.

"You haven't heard of me?" The older male asked.

"Should I care?" Freya asked.

"If you bothered to interact with nothing more than yourself. I'm sure you would have known that I can't die nor be killed because I was cursed with the Curse of Contradiction." The male explained.

Freya was intrigued at that explanation and she took a good sniff of both parties. She smelled it, the lingering smell of death. Her response a snort.

"Humans meddling with things they shouldn't have and this is the result. What caused you to do something to end up with the curse? Trying to revive a dead person?" Freya asked.

The male grew a smile and presented to her with the much smaller male. It was a mere child that was no more than three years old. The child clearly afraid of her and he wanted to hide behind this unknown male. However, the make kept the child in front of him.

"This is my little brother Natsu Dragneel. I don't regret taking the curse for him." The male spoke.

Brother? They didn't look like brothers. This, 'Natsu' had pink color hair that is spiky with black color iris's. He only had a brown pair of ragged shorts for clothing. Wait...could he actually...that explains the smell of death on these two.

"You actually revived your supposed brother, you even have me impressed. I'll let you both have safe passage this time around but don't come back." Freya spoke.

"You haven't heard my offer." The male said.

"And you are wearing my patience thin, I despise your kind. Now leave before you out live my mercy." Freya ordered.

"Does that mean you don't want to know how you can kill Acnologia?" He asked.

Freya was now giving this insect her undivided attention. That Fake Dragon had been a massive thorn in her side for her entire life.

"I hate humans but I hate him even more, he tried to take my soul."

Oh she knew about Acnologia and despite her old age. Freya had succeeded in defending against his attempt to take her soul. However, she was not long for this world. If Acnologia tried again, she would not be as lucky.

"I want to kill Acnologia, as you know he has already taken countless souls from The Dragon's and they're already suffering from it." He spoke.

"That makes it a rather improbable problem for humanity to solve and you came here because you want me to train that thing to kill Acnologia? A alliance?" Freya asked.

"Exactly, I plan to have my younger brother strong enough to beat Acnologia. However, I need you to raise him to become strong enough to realize my dream." The man confirmed.

Freya tapped her claw on the ground as the dragon thought about the plan. This man wasn't telling her everything either but she wasn't getting any younger. It wouldn't be long before Acnologia found her. He would surely finish the job he started. Freya looked at the frightened child. That sad excuse would not be able to do the job. This is why she hated humans, they started off as weak and remained weak. If she truly wanted Acnologia to die, she needed to whip him into shape.

"I'll admit human, you're the first to make me a deal that I would accept but I'm raising him on my terms."

The young child looked worried at the idea of being taken in by the Dragon.

"Deal." The young man stated.

"Good but first, who exactly are you?" Freya asked.

"Me? I'm Zeref Dragneel." He introduced himself.

Zeref Dragneel would be a young man in his early twenties with short black color hair that unlike his brother was neatly kept in place. Zeref shared the same eye color as his self proclaimed brother. He wore a black color robe with high collars. The collars would have gold color trimmings on them. Zeref had on a white color toga along with a pair of sandals. Zeref gave a gentle push towards Natsu.

"Don't worry, she'll take care of you from now on." Zeref said.

Natsu being as young as he was seem to believe Zeref's words and went towards the Dragon. Freya felt her skin crawl as soon as Natsu reached her. However, she had to control her more...less than pleasant urges...she agreed to this entire thing.

"Let's...go to your new home..." Freya forced out through gritted teeth.

Zeref wasn't so sure about this idea but Freya is the greatest shot he had to Natsu being strong enough to kill him. That way, humanity could be protected and that he could finally die.

Year X781

Natsu walked down the last part of the mountain. He had a battered brown tunic and a pair of tan color shorts. For fourteen years he had lived with Freya, his mother, and now he was going out into the real world. Natsu turn his head while looking upwards at the mountain. He couldn't see the top because of how high it was but that was fine for him. Natsu didn't want to see his dead mother's body. She was tough but when he turn his head to look at the forest at the base of the mountain. It was all to prepare him for this very moment. Where he would be forced to go out into the real world and not have her here. Where he would have to find a way to make his goals tangible without her guidance. He didn't know where he was going but he would travel into the forest. He had to start somewhere and as soon as possible. Natsu wouldn't meet anyone until he came to a road that was next to the forest.

'This is a start, a road and a road means that people will use it and I'll finally be able to gain information on where I'm.' Natsu thought.

Natsu saw a man walking down the road towards him. Natsu went to fully face him while the man took in his presence. The pair would meet in the middle and the old man looked down at Natsu.

"Who might you be?" The old man asked.

"Natsu Dragneel." Natsu introduced himself.

The man narrowed his eyes at Natsu.

"What is a mere teenager doing in the woods by himself?" The man asked.

"My mother would take care of me but she finally passed away. I'm leaving the woods to find a place to work and earn a living." Natsu explained.

"Boy do you know magic?" The Old Man asked.

Natsu lifted up his hand and The Old Man would watch as a orb of light would materialize above the palm of the boy's hand.

"I'm a light mage user but not just any light mage user. I'm the light dragon's protégé or better known as the Light Dragon Slayer." Natsu answered.

The man didn't really believe that Natsu was raised by a dragon. It didn't take anyone to make up such a story especially for the perks of becoming famous. However, he did feel an immense amount of magic coming from said child. The boy would send the orb of light upwards high into the air. The Old Man wondered why until the orb of light would explode as the explosion nearly reached the pair. However, it rapidly shrank back into itself before causing a secondary explosion from the implosion of light. A spell that no doubt required a lot of control. Natsu wasn't raised by a dragon but he did have exceptional magical control. The Old Man may have a use for the boy.

"I'm Master Hades, The Guild Master of Grimoire Heart. I might have the place you're looking for, one where you can work and earn a living. The only thing you have to do is join my guild." Hades spoke.

Hades is a old man with a slicked back white color hair. The color of his hair match the color of his mustache and lengthy beard. His eye color would be a healthy green. Hades wore a dark red shirt with a yellow color belt and tan color pants. The pants had a flame design near the bottom of the sleeves. Finally, Hades had on a pair of brown color boots. Despite his old age, Hades is tall and muscular. Natsu knew the man must have been through a lot because Hades had a eye patch over one of his eyes. Natsu didn't have anywhere to go nor was he picky. It was a good starting point as any.

"I accept." Natsu said.
