Resurrection

In the basement of Fenton Works, the ghost portal opened. Out came a familiar yeti-like creature with a map in his hand.

"I am hopeful that he is here." Frostbite said, desperately needing to see Danny. "Great One! It is I, Frostbite, your humble servant, seeking your aid!" Frostbite shouted, yet he received no response. "Where is everyone?!" He called out.

Someone heard him.

"Frostbite? That you?" Sam was heard saying from above.

Sam and Tucker then came downstairs, seeing the panicked leader of the Far Frozen.

"What are you doing here?" Tucker asked.

Seeing the two present, Frostbite had a look of relief on his face.

"Oh, servants of the Great One! Thank goodness. I must find the savior of the Ghost Zone!" Frostbite said, sounding desperate and getting on one knee to show respect.

"Okay, first off, we're not his servants, get that through your horned head." Sam responded with a displeased scowl on her face.

"And second, he's in France right now." Tucker said.

Hearing that caused Frostbite to get up.

"France?! Excellent!" He went, sounding oddly happy to hear that.

"It is?" Sam asks.

"If my theory is correct, that is where the soul should have gone." Frostbite said.

"What soul?" Tucker asks.

"The one that was meant to be banished today. An evil one that is meant to receive punishment, but then, somehow, it just disappeared." Frostbite said.

"Is… that normal?" Sam asks.

"The soul was contained in a glass that not even intangibility can release it from. The only way out is through resurrection." Frostbite said as he re-opened the Infi-Map.

"Resurrection?!" Sam asks, shocked to hear this.

"It means coming back to life." Tucker said quickly and with a knowing tone.

"I know what it means!" Sam snapped at him, making him pull back before directing her view at Frostbite. "I mean… that's a thing? An actual thing?"

"Indeed… though most resurrection spells are by and large forbidden due to being used by the dark arts. Now… I must aid the Great One, for he will likely be of aid against this threat as he was able to defeat the Wendigo!" Frostbite cleared his throat before taking Sam and Tucker in his arm, much to their surprise. "Take us to where the Great One's family is staying!"

With that, the map powers up, leaves his hands and spun, surrounding the three individuals.

"But I was gonna order a pizza!" Tucker complained loudly as they entered the Ghost Zone in a flash.

In France

Danny and Dani were still staring at the chalet, both of them sharing a quick glance at each other before resuming their look at the building. Jack and Maddie were quiet but also curious with a mix of concern.

"Why are you staring at the chalet like that?" Maddie asks.

"That weird feeling… the second one. It's… it's still there, but weaker…" Dani explained.

"What kind of weird feeling?" Jack asks.

"I don't know how to describe it except that it totally feels wrong." Danny answered.

"Funny wrong like someone farted in the RV or serious wrong?" Jack asks.

"Serious wrong." Danny explained before his expression became more serious. "I'm going inside..."

He took a step forward, that's when a soldier stood in his path.

"I'm afraid what's inside is military property now, you cannot enter..." The soldier refused. "Do anything and the Fentons will be held accountable." He added as a warning.

Danny glared at him as he stepped back.

Looks like it's time to use the invisible hall pass. He thought.

Before he could do that, a strange noise was heard.

At the same time

Razor was still cuffed, sitting across the table from Edge, aka Larisa.

"I'd like something to drink. You know my favorite, root beer float..." Razor said.

"You're being detained, not on vacation..." Edge said, glaring at him.

"Well, this was one… at least a working one." Razor responded.

"After you gave your client the pelt?" Edge asked.

"Of course..." Razor said while smirking. "So… how long have you been looking for me?"

"Don't get the wrong idea." Edge responded with a sour tone. "I came looking for you because of what you did… and what was taken." She added with a tone to suggest something that hurt her on a personal level.

"Ah… of course." Razor said with a small laugh, as if he forgot to clue her in on something.

"Don't make light of that." Edge snarled.

"Then why not ask the question you've been wanting to know the answer to for about a decade, sweetheart?" Razor asks with a cheeky smile.

Edge slammed her fist into the table before storming over towards him.

"Where's my-" She was cut off when they heard a noise, the same noise Danny heard.

What was heard sounded similar to wolf howl, but something was different about it. It sounded malicious, almost unnatural, as if what was howling was not a proper wolf, but something far more sinister.

As soon as the howling stopped, all were silent, staring at the chalet, which is where the sound came from.

"Was that… a wolf?" Dani whispered with some fear in her voice.

"Not like any wolf I ever heard…" Maddie said with one eyebrow raised.

After several seconds, the soldiers reacted.

"Juarez! Nguyen! With me!" One soldier shouted.

However, before anything could happen, a very unexpected event occurred.

The side of the chalet suddenly burst open, a cloud debris came alongside pieces of wood that were once part of the building flying out

Danny's attention was directed towards this same cloud as everyone else's. However, he spotted something in the cloud.

Something tall, almost lupine in appearance, was seen as a silhouette in the cloud, coming out from the chalet, yet the image of it disappeared into being unseen.

Wait… what was that? He thought.

The strange entity was seen going past the tent where Razor was being held, allowing to see briefly something that looked familiar.

"Oi! He's stealin' the pelt!" He shouted in anger as he stood up.

"Stand down, unless you want to end up like Swiss cheese!" Edge ordered.

As she looked outside the tent, Razor saw that as an opportunity. with great strength, he broke out of the cuffs and reached for his shoe. inside it was a small, slim device with a button on it that he pressed.

Suddenly, a loud noise was heard, one that caused everyone around to cover their ears from the pain it caused.

It wasn't just for pain, it was also to keep them occupied as his beasts did their thing.

"About time…" The Nantinaq grunted as he bent the bars like a cartoon, making a hole he stepped out of. From there, he broke the J'Ba Fofi and the Nameless Horror out of their respective prisons. "Let's go…" He said with a guttural tone.

"Prrruuuaaaaggghhh..." Nameless horror screeched as they decided to take down several soldiers first.

As the beasts had their fun, Razor did a sneak attack of Edge, grabbing her by the arms from behind.

As Razor pushed Edge into the table in a rather uncompromising position, he whispered into her ear.

"It's nothin' person, sweetheart. It's never been…" He said before kissing her forehead and leaving.

Edge sat up, huffing anger before a moment where she looked thoughtful, almost as if she longed for him.

Outside, Razor saw that his beasts knocked away the soldiers. Only the Fentons and the Phantoms remained.

"Can I eat one of them?" The Nantinaq asks impatiently, holding one unconscious soldier up.

"Later. Someone's stealing the pelt! Let's go!" Razor ordered

The Nantinaq dropped the soldier, hurting him further, before grumbling while following Razor, along with the other two beasts.

Danny and Dani were about to step in when Maddie pulled them back.

"We should think first, not to mention see if everyone is alright before you go running off like that." Maddie insisted.

Razor smirked as he looked back. He realized how the strange incident caught everyone off guard, giving him the opportunity he wanted.

I was hoping for a little more time with her, but this helped better than I thought... He said as he made a break for it.

He followed after the one who seemingly stole the pelt, escaping while everyone else was now getting up and seeing he was now going deep into the forests.

Edge stepped out, gritting her teeth in anger.

"Hunt them down! Don't let them escape!" Edge ordered.

The soldiers raced towards Razor and his beasts and try to prevent their escape.

"Great, more trouble..." Danny said, upset before his ghost sense went off. "Now what?!"

"DANNY!" A collective of voices was heard.

Danny turned around and saw Tucker and Sam running towards them, with Jazz at their side and Frostbite right behind them.

"Sam? Tuck? Jazz? Frostbite? What are you guys doing here?!" Danny asked, surprised to see them.

"It is an emergency, Great One. One you may be of aid for!" Frostbite said.

"Okay, but what are you guys doing here?" Danny asks, referring to the rest.

"We were at your place when Frostbite basically abducted us." Sam added with an unamused look on her face.

"They ended up at the hotel, where Frostbite basically abducted me too." Jazz added with a grumble.

As Frostbite explained everything, someone approached them.

"Phantom!" Edge shouted, approaching them. "We have-" She then spotted Frostbite, glaring at him with suspicion.

"It's okay, he's not a threat." Danny said, vouching for him.

"Speak for yourself." Sam muttered, recalling how tightly he held them.

"I see… in any case… Razor and his pets are on the run and I could use your help in finding him." Edge responded.

"Lieutenant!" One soldier came in, saluting her once stopped.

"What is it, Jacobs?" She asks impatiently.

"After that… thing… broke out of the chalet, I went inside. You should take a look at it.

As Edge followed him, Frostbite began sniffing the air.

"Oh no…" He muttered.

"What's wrong?" Danny asks.

"Did someone dealt it?" Tucker asks jokingly before being glared at by the others. "No sense of humor right now, I see." He grumbled.

"No... it smells... wrong... very wrong." Frostbite said as he looked to the chalet. "And it's coming from there. Excuse me, miss?!" He called out to Edge.

"What is it?" She asks impatiently.

"If what's in there is what I think is, my intel may be of use to you..." He said, wanting to see for himself if it's what he suspects it to be.

Meanwhile

Within the dense forest was a large figure that ran on all fours. This creature ran quickly, zipping past trees before hunger set in.

"Greeeaaarrr..." The creature let out, wanting something to eat.

It sniffed the air and picked up a particular scent. It ran after that scent and soon spotted what he was looking for.

It was a fully grown, male red deer that was native to Mont Mouchet. It was eating INSERT peacefully, not sensing the danger yet.

A terrifying grin appeared on the monster's face as it leapt at the poor animal, who didn't have time to escape.

With a quick bite and slash work from the claws, the red deer ceased all noises..

At the chalet

The strange yellow that the pool gained was still there as Frostbite observed it while taking a knee.

As he examined it, both Phantoms were at his side. Behind him was Lieutenant Edge, who was soon met with the soldier who she called Jacobs.

"Well?" She questioned.

"The three are coming to. They claim they saw Williamson right before they were knocked out." He explained.

"And Williamson?" She asks.

"We found his clothes… but no sign of him." He answered.

As that went on, Frostbite sniffed the strange yellow and his brow furrowed.

"Dude had a whole pool to himself and he didn't bother cleaning it? Gross…" Dani went.

"Never thought him this uncivilized…" Edge commented.

"That's putting it mildly." Dani went, cringing at the sight of it.

"This is not urine, Great One's sister… this is a concoction used for resurrection ceremonies." Frostbite responded as he stroked his chin.

"Resurrection? This stuff brings people back to life?" Danny asks.

"I have seen this before. However, such things are strictly forbidden as most known resurrection spells are done by the dark arts. You say these missing chests had books? I can only surmise one of them had the recipe for this formula." Frostbite said.

Danny then saw something not far from them on the floor, something he paid no attention to until now.

"Like this?" Danny asks, picking it up.

"Good eye, Great One." Frostbite said as he took the book and skimmed through it before finding the page he was looking for. "Aha! This is it!" He showed the page. "This is the potion's formula."

As Danny took a look at the page, seeing it written in French, Edge moved in closer to get a look at the yellow fluid.

"When did Razor have time to do this?" Dani asks.

"I don't think it was him. He said he wanted to give the books and pelt to someone for money. Besides, he's not a sorcerer or anything like that." Edge explained.

"So… was something getting brought back to life what the two of us sensed?" Danny asks.

"Most likely. Ghosts can pinpoint when such an event were to occur when close enough, as doing so would violate the laws of life and death." Frostbite explained as he closed the book.

"Then… what went in there… then came out?" Dani asks.

He thought fast as one idea sprung.

"The pelt…" Danny uttered.

"Pelt?" Frostbite asks.

"Yeah, the pelt of a monster called the Beast of Gévaudan." Danny explained.

"Hmm… where have I heard that before?" Frostbite asks before shrugging. "In any case… I must find the soul, though perhaps the creature that you claim to see burst through the walls was this monster?"

As they went on, Edge's phone went off.

"What is it?" She questioned in an annoyed tone.

"Lieutenant. We've spotted signs of Razor and his pets." The voice on the other side went.

"Keep him in your sights." She responded to her phone before speaking to the three ghosts. "If he didn't have a hand in this, then you'll have to sort that out after you help me find him."

Danny nodded before directing his attention to Frostbite.

"I'll help you find this soul and whatever got out of this stuff… soon as we find that hunter and… whatever came out of this pool." He said.

"As you wish, Great One." Frostbite said.

Outside

As soon as the soldiers departed, Danny and Dani had explained what just went on with the rest.

"And so it looks like that thing might be running around." Danny explained.

"So… the Beast of Gévaudan is alive?!" Sam went with an excited smile on her face.

"Ahem…" Jazz went.

Sam then noticed the Fentons, Tucker and Frostbite glare at her disapprovingly. Sam's smile dropped upon realizing what she just said.

"Oh… right… that's a bad thing." Sam went.

"So, we gotta find that thing, along with Razor and his pets. We'll have to split up." Danny said.

"So, who goes with who?" Tucker asks.

Before answering, Danny and Dani's collective ghost senses went off.

"A ghost?!" Dani asks as everyone goes on alert.

"It can't be those monsters, they're not ghosts…" Danny said.

The answer came fast.

"Oh dear, I was hoping I was wrong!" An accented voice was heard from the chalet.

They turned around and saw Marie Antoinette's ghost rising from it.

"GHOST!" Jack went, holding out his blaster.

Maddie pushes the gun out of the way.

"We really need to control that trigger happy impulse of yours, Jack." She said with a disapproving tone.

"Not too long ago, you'd have done the same as me!" Jack pointed out, only to get an annoyed look from his wife. "Right, not the time..." He said in defeat.

Marie then noticed Danny and gave out a relieved sigh.

"Danny!" She went.

"Marie?" Danny asks.

"Who is she?" Dani asked.

"Marie Antoinette..." Danny answered as he waited for her to get closer.

"What brings you here, your highness?" Frostbite asked politely.

"I was just enjoying my time when I sensed the resurrection. I hoped I was mistaken and came to where the pelt was buried, as I made sure it was in that box after my time as a human ended..." She said with a serious tone.

"Well… we're thinking someone threw the pelt into that stuff…" Danny said.

"Then there's a good chance that the monster is alive again…" Marie said with a serious tone.

"Yeah… we'll have to find it and that hunter." Danny said before turning his head to look at everyone else. "Okay, let's regroup and-"

He then noticed everyone save for Jack and Tucker gawking in disbelief.

"Marie Antoinette?!" Jazz and Sam asked in unison.

"Uh… yeah." Danny went.

"When did you meet the ghost of Marie Antoinette?!" Jazz asks.

"After breakfast with Chloe." Danny answered flatly.

"You met one of the most famous women in history and a former queen of France… and you just now mention this?!" Jazz asks in disbelief.

"Uh… oops?" Danny went.

"Wait… who's Chloe?" Sam asks, but is ignored quickly.

"Okay, so… may I aid you in finding the beast while the rest find this hunter person you're looking for?" Marie asks.

"But I must find the soul…" Frostbite said before a thought came to him. "Unless… the soul that was to be banished belongs to the beast? Tell me, does the name Cedric Devereux mean anything?" Frostbite asks.

"No, that name holds no meaning." Marie responded flatly.

"But… who's Chloe?" Sam asks again, but is ignored once more.

"Well, in any case… we should go in groups. Marie, come with me and Danielle and you can identify the beast for us." Danny said.

"I'm fine with that." Marie responded.

As Danny started to select groups, Sam scowled.

"I guess I'll find out later…" She muttered.

With Group 1

Maddie took the lead, with Sam and Jazz behind her.

"Stay close, girls. This is unknown territory." Maddie said.

"So, what kind of monsters did he use?" Jazz asks.

"Can we not call them monsters? Those are rare animals." Sam complained.

"I wouldn't neglect to call them monsters… including that… J'ba Fofi…" Maddie went with a bitter and traumatized tone in her voice.

Hearing that caused an excited gasp to come from Sam.

"You saw a J'Ba Fofi?! They're real?!" Sam asks.

"What's a J'Ba Fofi?" Jazz asks.

"A giant spider from the African Congo! I thought it was a myth!" Sam went before she got closer to Maddie with a grin. "Tell me what exactly it was like, Mrs. Fenton! What was it like up close? Was it friendly? Was it male or female?!"

Maddie took in a breath.

"In order… terrifying… no… and I was too terrified to even bother finding out." She responded.

Sam was surprised by this before Jazz cleared her throat.

"She's afraid of spiders." She responded.

"Wait… really?" Sam asks, having always found spiders to be cool.

"Jasmine! I told you that in confidence!" Maddie responded harshly.

"Sorry…" Jazz responded with a shrug and an apologetic smile.

As they walked, Sam decided to speak up.

"So… who is Chloe?" She asks.

"She's a girl Danny just met. She-" Jazz was then cut off when Maddie held her arm out. "Mom?"

"It's too quiet." She responded before a mumbling sound was heard from above.

The three looked up and, to their horror, they saw 3 soldiers were captured, all wrapped in webs.

They looked terrified as some of them tried to break free, but the web was too strong.

"Oh wow…" Sam went in awe and in shock.

Maddie's jaw dropped as she began to sweat. She held onto her deactivated saber, her hands shaking almost violently.

"Please be white sticky rope… please be white sticky rope… please be-" Maddie begged before something cut her off.

A hissing sound caught their attention as they spotted a silhouette in the distance, one with 8 long legs crawling towards them.

"Is that what I think it is?" Jazz asks as she and Sam hid behind Maddie, who shivered in fear.

"Uh… Mrs. Fenton?" Sam asks, not used to seeing her so terrified.

"Please be the fanged octopus… please be the fanged octopus… please be…" She muttered in fear.

Her answer was given as its face appeared in the moonlight briefly, hissing at them.

With Group 2

Jack and Frostbite walked together, side by side, as Tucker hid behind the two.

"So, what creatures did this hunter have with him?" Frostbite asks.

"A giant spider, some octopus with teeth, and some sasquatch called the Nantinaq." Jack responded.

"The Nantinaq? There's a name I haven't heard in years…" Frostbite said.

"Friend of yours?" Jack asks.

"No… it is too savage and vicious to even consider friends." Frostbite said.

"Uh… what about the last two?" Tucker asks, sounding terrified to hear about them.

A squishing sound was heard, alerting the three.

"Uh oh…" Jack went, recognizing that sound.

"Uh… what was that?" Tucker asks, hiding between the two.

To his displeasure, the two ran towards the source of the noise, Tucker forced himself to follow them.

To their shock, they saw about 9 soldiers on the ground, all of them looking bruised and battered.

"Are they…?" Tucker asks.

Jack went to one of them, checking his pulse.

"Still alive." He said in relief. "I wonder wh-"

He was then hit by something that wrapped around him, something that gripped him so tightly that his arms couldn't break free.

Tucker could see a face in the moonlight on the octopus-like creature, one with a mouth filled with sharp teeth that hissed at them.

"GAAAAAHHHH!" Tucker went, screaming his head off.

"Unhand the Great One's father before I make you into sashimi!" Frostbite shouted, making a sword of ice.

Before he could assist, a large hand backhanded him away, knocking him into the tree.

Tucker turned his head and, to his shock, he saw a giant ape-like monster grinning at him maliciously.

"Fresh meat…" The Nantinaq said, eying him.

Tucker screamed once more as he ran for it. Unfortunately, the Nantinaq grabbed him, held him tightly in his grip.

"Uh… any chance you'll let me go? I know a good endangered gorilla who'd be a good match for you…" Tucker offered.

"Nope. I'm just gonna think about how I plan to eat you…" The Nantinaq responded.

With Group 3

Danny, Dani and Marie overheard a high-pitched scream, getting their attention.

"Tucker!" Both Phantoms went, much to Marie's surprise.

"Isn't that a girl's voice?" She asks.

"You're not used to Tucker's voice." Danny responded.

"What now?" Dani questioned.

Before Danny could respond, sounds of shouting were ahead of them. He looked back and forth between the shouts and Tucker's screaming before an answer came to him.

"Help Tucker, then meet up with us." He told Dani.

"On it!" She said before flying off.

With that, both Danny and Marie resumed their flight towards the sounds of the shouting. There, they saw two people hiding behind trees, both brandishing what appeared to be guns.

"Come on, sweetheart! Don't do this to me! We had some great times, you and I!" Razor shouted, his tone filled with a hint of desire.

"I'll have better times when you're locked up!" Edge shouted in fury

Before she could step out and fire, the sound of ice forming caught her attention.

"Oi!" Razor shouted.

Curious, Edge peeked out to see Danny Phantom hovering near where Razor was, his hand extended to indicate a use of his powers lately.

"Stick around, dude." Danny said.

Edge walked closer, looking relieved. She saw that Razor's hand, which no longer held the weapon that Danny destroyed now with a ghost ray, was frozen to the tree.

"Took you long enough." She said before noticing who was next to Danny. "Is that… the ghost of Marie Antoinette?" She questioned with a bit of comical confusion.

"Bonjour." Marie went with a curtsy.

"Long story." Danny explained.

Edge decided to ignore it and went back to dealing with her target.

"Couldn't resist gettin' help, eh luv? Wa-n't too long ago that you'd have held yer own. Course, I was watchin' your back, I was." Razor said in a voice that mixed mockery with flirtation.

Edge scowled at him as Danny began to question his attitude with her.

"Why is he talking like you two used to date?" Danny questioned, somewhat afraid to know the answer.

"Oh, we did more than date." Razor started. "W-"

"Enough!" Edge shouted in anger. "Now… tell me what I want to know."

"Yeah, like who made the stuff at the chalet?" Danny asks.

Edge's eyes darted to him, looking almost as if that wasn't what she was going to ask.

"What stuff?" Razor questioned.

Back with Alicia

She was still in that military ambulance, with the driver and his passenger inside.

"They're taking their sweet time…" The driver said.

"You don't think something went wrong, do you?" His fellow paramedic questioned.

As that went on, Alicia slowly pushed herself off and quietly tip-toed out the back without being spotted.

"Maddie…" She said with a slight hiss of pain, going back to the van she came in to grab something from the back.

Elsewhere

The moon had been covered with a large cloud, darkening the forest and concealing something evil and hungry.

The adult male red deer was reduced to a skeleton as the sounds of messy eating came to end.

With a growling sound of satisfaction, the thing that devoured it licked its teeth clean.

It then picked up a scent, that of humans. Turning its head back, its red eyes squinted in anticipation while its lips pulled back to reveal sinister teeth in a grin.

Back to Danny

Razor made a face of pure confusion as he scoffed.

"I have no idea what you're talking about… I actually clean that pool so I'd never use it like that." He answered flatly.

"So, you deny any connection to one who would do that?" Edge asks.

"I want to sell the pelt, why would I have used that stuff if it does what you say it does?" He asks.

Edge's eyes darted from him to Danny.

"He's not wrong." She answered.

"Well, if he has nothing to do with it, then who did it?" Danny asks.

"That's a problem you'll have to handle, mine is taking him in." Edge said before glaring at Razor. "I've been looking forward to this for a long time."

"Aww, you do think of me, Larisa." Razor cooed almost mockingly.

Before she could respond, a loud howl caught their attention.

Something atop this small hill on Mont Mouchet, barely noticeable due to the lack of moonlight at the moment. Something wolf-like in appearance.

Elsewhere

Dani had already come to be of aid as she saved Tucker from the Nantinaq. She also phased her father out of the Nameless Horror's grip to save him from being crushed.

The Nantinaq took a step forward to attack when the howl caught his attention.

"That sounds too loud to be a normal wolf…" He said before picking up the Nameless Horror. "Come on, I haven't had wolf meat in a long time…" He went before jumping away.

As it used its greater size to leap greater distances, Jack stood back up.

"Princess? You, Tucker and Frostbite get these men back to that ambulance. They're still alive and I'd like to keep it that way." Jack ordered as he readied his weaponry.

"On it!" Dani said as Jack headed off, she and the rest helped the injured men up.

"I have you." Frostbite said.

"So, what do you guys say? We help these guys, wrap things up and don't go back to see those things again?" Tucker asks. Both of them sent unamused looks at him for suggesting that. "Yeah, I thought so…" He responded with a disappointed look on his face.

Elsewhere

Maddie hyperventilated as the J'Ba Fofi inched ever closer.

She, Sam and Jazz were caught in its webs and several feet off the ground as it readied its pincers for piercing.

Maddie shut her eyes, fearing the inevitable when the howling caught its attention. It then left the web and made its way to the source of the sound.

Once it was gone, Maddie let out a breath of relief.

"Thank Goodness." Maddie said.

"Okay… I find spiders less interesting now." Sam states with a breath of relief before her eyes darted to Maddie. "What now?"

"I think I can get us down…" She said as she managed to activate her saber, the energy blades cutting her free.

"Are you okay, Mom?" Jazz asks as Maddie lands on her feet.

"No… I'm so traumatized that I'm going to take a long hot bath for a whole week." Maddie stated as she cut the two free.

Both landed comically on the ground.

"You'll have earned it…" Sam said as she felt her rear throb in pain.

"Now… what caught that giant eight-legged nightmare's attention?" Maddie asks, confused as to why it didn't finish the job.

With Danny

He held his hand over his eyes in an attempt to get a better look at what was howling. However, due to the lack of moonlight thanks to the clouds, he could only see a silhouette of something wolf-like standing upright.

"What is that?" Danny asks before looking at Marie.

The former queen of France had a notably terrified look on her face.

"No, it lives…" She whispered, the terror louder than her words.

Razor did his best to look despite the ice around his arm making it difficult to simply get a good look. He struggled to break free as something just landed behind them, something that made a powerful gust of air upon landing.

"Away with you!" The Nantinaq declared as it attempted to backhand the three away from Razor.

Danny grabbed Edge in time as he and Marie flew away in time to avoid impact.

Once they flew back several feet away, they took notice of what was with the Nantinaq, the Nameless Horror and the J'Ba Fofi, at its sides.

"Those things attacked my men!" Edge shouted in anger.

"They'll live… for now…" Nantinaq states with an unamused look on his face. "I was gonna eat them, then I heard a wolf…"

"Up there!" Razor ordered as he struggled to pull himself free.

The J'Ba Fofi made its way to the tree and bit the ice, the Nameless Horror on its back. The latter then bit the ice with enough force to break it, allowing Razor to pull free.

"Another pet of yours?" Edge questioned.

"No…" Razor responded as he started at what was atop the hill.

The thing looked down at them with a sinister grin as it then got on all fours. With incredible speeds, it ran towards them, making zigzagging motions. It made grunting animal noises, some sounding excited in a terrifying way, as it grew closer and closer. Still, no one could get a good look at it due to how cloudy it was.

Then, as it was more than 100 feet away, it jumped into the air. Danny's eyes followed it, widening as he could see its leaner physique much closer.

Then it landed, no less than 20 feet away from them. It stood upright, breathing heavily while its shoulders bobbed up with each inhale, and down with each exhale.

Slowly, the moon began to shine down on them once more as the cloud finally passed. Slowly, what ran towards them was revealed to them.

"Is that…?" Danny asked under his breath as they got a good look at it.

From the feet were canine feet, four-toed. As it became clear it was russet in color, along with the fur being rather messy and shaggy in some parts, it also had a black tail. It was almost squirrel-like, messy and hairy as it swung around a moment. The black fur from the tail was part of equally messy black fur that was on its back that went up the head. As it sniffed the air, those seeing this for the first time saw the heart-shaped pale fur on its chest. Its arms were like the legs, ending with hand-like pays with four fingers that held long claws. The head was very wolf-like, atop a somewhat long neck, a long face with some teeth, both from above and below, sticking out of the smirking mouth, bent looking ears at the top and blazing red eyes with white irises that seemed to glow.

Those same red eyes squint as its mouth opened to reveal its pointed teeth in an evil grin.

New chapter with thanks to Flower Princess11.

The Beast is finally here. Now... the real fun can begin.

I meant to update sooner but... stuff happened IRL.

RonaldM40196867: Again, due to time, I can only answer a few. Maybe they'll get therapy? She knows little due to negligence. They'll find out about Star and Kwan on their own. No, the Thermos is a container. The Nantinaq and the J'Ba Fofi are actual cryptids.

Themetavoorhes1996: No, they don't. Only the ones in the title count.

Invader Johnny: That's going to be the least of their problems.
