Curtain Call
Outside of the Palais Garnier, doors swung open as crowds ran out, pushing others out of the way and ignoring their complaints and/or injuries. This was noticed by both Razor and Larissa, both sharing a look.
"He's made his move?" Razor asks.
"I doubt the show was that bad…" Larissa responded as she turned her head to face him behind her. "Let's move! Get in without hurting any of these people!"
As she and her ex did as she ordered the rest to do, Alicia watched from afar and scratched her chin.
"Them two are workin' together? That beastie must be here…" She nodded. "Time to redeem myself!"
Inside
Danny was thrown through two rows of seats, breaking about 6 of them. He winced in pain as he pushed himself up.
"I hope those seats weren't that expensive…" He muttered as he turned to see the Beast running at him on all fours. "Heel!" He shouted before firing.
The Beast didn't bother to shield himself, letting Danny's stream of energy hit his shoulder. It pushed him back, but he healed right away.
"I did, zhanks to you." The Beast responded.
With a roar, he leapt towards Danny, who moved to the side to avoid the Beast's sharp claws, but three rows of seat were destroyed from the shockwave of its slash. Sam and Tucker were standing a few feet away, watching the fight with wide eyes.
"What should we do?" Tucker asks.
"No idea… he's no ghost and he can just heal himself…" Sam said. "Feels like we're in a horror movie. Of a variety we're not suited for…"
Suddenly, their attention went to the Beast, which was suddenly running towards them, fangs bared and drool dripping from the mouth. The two screamed in panic as they hugged each other.
Dani flew in and kicked the Beast in the back. This made him lose his footing, but he regained his balance quickly. Danny himself grabbed the Beast by the tail and swung him overhead and onto the floor before he could hurt Dani. This did little to stop him, as the Beast pulled his tail out before swiping at Danny, making him pull back.
"Geez, I'm starting to think cats are better." Dani said as she fired at the Beast as he tried to bite Danny, pushing him back slightly.
"You guys should find Star, Kwan, Chloe and Alain… make sure they're safe." Danny said.
"Uh… why would those four not be? And why name them specifically?" Sam questioned.
Danny dropped his determined look for a moment, realizing he had forgotten something rather important.
"I may have… used my powers and morphed in front of them when I realized this was Devereux…" He sheepishly admitted.
There was a brief silence as Sam and Tucker dropped their jaws collectively. Dani, however, was more annoyed than anything.
"Wow… you're really making sure both your potential girlfriends get to know you better than the last one…" She couldn't help but snark.
"YOU DID WHAT IN FRONT OF THEM?!" Sam questioned before a snarl caught their attention.
The Beast lunged at them, forcing the two Phantoms to recall their situation.
"Call me out later! When there isn't a werewolf trying to kill us!" Danny yelled, as he dodged his attack.
"Fair…" Sam nodded before she and Tucker avoided getting slashed too. "Let's go!"
The two ran through the door, catching the Beast's attention. With a roar, it pounced at them, but just as the two made it through the door, a thick wall of ice appeared, and the Beast slammed head first to it, making it cracked a little
Shaking its head, it didn't react fast enough to dodge two legs that hit him on the side, sending him tumbling across the room. It used its claws to stop itself before looking at the two heroes, who glared at him.
The Beast laughed loudly and viciously as he approached the two Phantoms.
"I can't believe I'm saying this… but I'm really starting to miss Vlad right about now…" Dani said, feeling this was a fight that would take everything in their power just to survive.
With the named four
They were still having trouble processing the recent discovery.
"Fenton is Phantom?! FENTON IS PHANTOM?! FENTON IS PHANTOM?!" Star questioned as she paced and forth. "Oh… Paulina would freak if she found out…"
"Uh… you done over there?" Chloe asks, going back to her actual accent.
"NO!" Star shouted as she got in her face. "I'm processing that the guy I was rude to but never really hated and thought was kind of cute was the superhero that my best fri- sort of best friend right now… has nursed an obsessive crush on for months!"
"Next thing you know, we'll find out his little sister is some kind of clone…" Kwan said.
They brushed that off as absurd, unaware of how truthful that was.
"Um...shouldn't we focus on getting out of here without getting eaten by a monster!?" Alain asks, seeing as they're still in danger.
"Right… we should hide. Or find something that might help.." Kwan said quickly.
Before they knew it, both Sam and Tucker spotted them and rushed towards them, making the group pause.
"There you guys are…" Tucker said. "C'mon, we'll take you guys to safety…"
"Wait…Do you guys know Fenton was Phantom!?" Star suddenly asked, staring at Danny's best friends.
Sam glared at her before stomping towards them.
"If you say anything about what you saw…" Sam started a threat, but a glare from Chloe got her attention.
"You think you're a bigger danger than becoming literal puppy chow?" Chloe snarked.
"I guess not." Sam said, dropping her glare as she noticed how Chloe was speaking. "Also… what happened?"
"A werewolf, that's what!" Chloe snapped at her.
"No, I mean you- never mind…" Sam said as she shook her head. "We gotta get you out of here. Hopefully, they got this."
"Yeah…" Tucker said as he looked uneasy now. "Hopefully, we'll be out of here like that weird fake voice you're doing will be soon enough."
"That's actually my real voice there. Too scared outta my mind to keep up Dubois' orders." Chloe responded.
Tucker raised a brow.
"I'm kinda less attracted to you now…" Tucker said, not liking her accent.
"Listen here, pal!" Chloe stomped her foot before Alain pulled her back.
"Not zhe time! We must escape!" He reminds them of their situation.
Before they knew it, several men in military gear and armed with weapons spotted the group and approached them.
"You kids get out of here! Call in the squad!" One of them shouted.
"Squad?" Sam questioned.
Before they knew it, all of them were grabbed by the arms and pulled against their wills, dragging them out of the building.
With Danny and Dani
The Beast had his claws at the ready, grinning with murderous intent.
"Now… tell me how to lower zhe barrier keeping the book from leaving zhis place and I promise I'll let one of you live. I won't tell you which one… makes it more fun." He said, chortling at his own sick joke.
"Right, threaten to kill one of us so we'll talk, good plan…" Danny snarked. "But we're not telling you that."
"Is zhat so? Well… shall we see how quickly I can chew on your bones?" The Beast questioned.
Before he took another step, he noticed a green light at his chest. Slowly looking up at the seats of the second floor, he saw one armed soldier, followed by another. Then three lights on the floor above that one. In seconds, about 30 soldiers aimed their weapons at him, their sights on different parts of his body.
Danny took a step back when one light then went to his head, only for that soldier to be slapped on the head by Larissa
"Not him, you idiot! The one covered in hair!" Larissa shouted in anger as she approached him.
"Lieutenant?!" Danny asks from below.
"Apologies… we didn't have our tickets." She snarked before pointing at the Beast. "Put more holes in that thing than Swiss Cheese!"
The Beast only laughed at this.
"Really? You zhink your toys will hurt me? Poor belle femme, all beauty and no brains…" The Beast scoffed.
"You should listen to 'er, Beastie…" Razor said as he appeared next to her with arms crossed.
"Razor?" Dani questioned seeing the mysterious man with the woman who hated him.
"Ready!" Larissa ordered. "Aim… FIRE!"
Gunshots echoed across the room as the soldier fired at the Beast, bullets flying through the air and into the Beast's hairy hide. Danny and Dani turned intangible to avoid the bullets, not trusting the military to be good shots, due to their bad experience with the GiW.
They watched as the bullets pierced through the Beast's hide, blood flowing through the multiple wounds in its body, but the Beast seemed unfazed by it, looking bored even. Soon, all the soldiers ran out of bullets, the floor around the Beast was covered in shells. Slowly, the Beast's injuries healed in seconds.
"Con comme un balai..." The Beast said with a laugh.
"I guess that confirms it…" Larissa said before nodding to Razor. "Do it."
"Wonderful!" Razor said as he took his own weapon and aimed.
"Ha! You really dink a bulletz vill work from that veak gun?! Come!" The Beast said, presenting himself with both arms out. "Come take your sh-"
Razor pulled the trigger, hitting the Beast in the chest, but not close to his heart.
The Beast's smile dropped as he felt the bullet pierce his chest, howling in pain and anger, clutching his chest as he took a knee.
"Ha! Bull's eye!" Razor shouted.
The soldiers cheered as both Phantoms turned tangible and shared a look.
"What just happened?" Dani questioned.
"Silver…" The Beast snarled as he slowly got up, much to soldiers' and half-ghosts' surprise. "Smart zhinking… but I'm afraid normal silver isn't enough to put me down… But if it makes you feel better about yourselves… it was…painful…" He said with a vicious snarl on his face.
Both Larissa and Razor shared the same shocked look on their faces.
"Guess it was a good thing we got 6 of these… aim for his head." Larissa ordered.
"I'll have ta get closer to 'im." Razor said as he tried to reload his gun.
"I zhink not!" The Beast shouted before pulling a seat out of its hinges and throwing it at them. Larissa quickly pushed Razor out of the way, but it made him drop the silver bullets.
"Retreat!" a soldier exclaimed and all of them scattered, quickly leaving the room as they realized that they were out of bullets and had no sure way to kill the Beast.
"Maybe that book has something we can use to put him down?" Dani questioned.
"It might…" Danny said, figuring they should get it away from their foe before realizing its weakness. He then looked around the room. "Sam and Tucker aren't back yet… neither are Mom and Dad… Go find them."
"And leave you on your own against that thing?" Dani questioned, not wanting to leave him with the Beast.
"Razor's bullets did more damage than we have. I just gotta play keep away for now…" Danny said with a determined glare. "Get going…"
Dani nodded reluctantly before flying through the walls to look for their friends and family.
The Beast grinned as he stalked towards Danny, Danny cracked his knuckles in response.
In a blink of an eye, the Beast was in front of Danny, claws raised in the air. Danny dodged the slash at the last second, a shockwave going through the room, causing a large slash mark to appear. Danny then dashed to the Beast's unguarded side and started punching the open body with glowing fists. The Beast barely grunted in annoyance before slamming Danny to the ground before kicking him away.
Danny was sent rolling on the floor, hitting the seats so hard that he scattered a few rows before stopping.
"I suddenly wish I was back with Star and Chloe…" He muttered as he pushed himself up to his feet, rubbing his head.
"Pathetic..." Devereux scoffed.
"Not that I care but what are you talking about?" Danny asked.
"I am referring to how you allowed yourself to be trapped by those two wenches. You are a man and yet you allow them to walk all over you and act so disrespectful. I don't understand why you haven't put them in their place and have them swoon on your feet, begging to be taken by you..." Devereux said in a very misogynistic way.
Danny frowned, ducking his head from a vicious slash from the Beast before speaking up.
"I see your views haven't changed at all. Wake up and read a magazine, Dude. It's the twenty-first century and there is a thing called RESPECTING women, you should try it!" Danny shouted.
The Beast scoffed.
"Oh please, I am the one they should respect..." The Beast said.
"And you wonder why Catherine wanted nothing to do with you..." Danny said.
Hearing that made the werewolf snap and snarled.
"How do you know of her?" He questioned.
"I had an unnecessarily long look at your life." Danny responded.
"Then you know how humanity betrayed me. How they had hurt me. How everyone must die for what happened to me." The Beast snarled.
"Dude, even if she didn't dump you, you'd still end up like this, she just decided to jump off the trainwreck. I doubt you two would have been happy… well, Catherine wouldn't have been." Danny said, thinking how miserable the woman would have been married to this horrible man.
"DO NOT MENTION THAT UNGRATEFUL WENCH'S NAME AROUND ME! I GAVE HER A CHANCE TO BECOME MY WIFE AND BARE MY HEIRS AND SHE BETRAYED ME AND RAN OF WITH THE ONE I THOUGHT WAS MY FRIEND! THOSE TWO TRAITORS SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN HAPPY IN THE END!" The Beast shouted.
"Will you wake up already?! Catherine never betrayed you and she was never yours to begin with. If anything, you betrayed her and Jean when you hurt them for your stupid pride!" Danny shouted out before he rushed at it with a glowing fist.
Unfortunately, the Beast caught his fist before slamming him into the floor.
"SHUT UP, YOU LITTLE BUG!" The Beast growled before opening its maw to bite him.
Before he could bite Danny's head off, a shot to his arm caused him to stop and wince it pain, pulling away from Danny.
Danny sat up and saw, to his surprise, that it was Razor who shot the Beast.
"Darn… was aiming for your head…" He muttered as he reloaded and aimed again.
The Beast panted angrily, seeing another bullet hole hasn't fully healed yet.
"Even though this can't kill me… it still hurts!" The Beast snarled, his mouth starting to foam in anger. "Soon as I can… I'm going to take a piece of you…"
"How about a piece of this!" Razor scoffed as he readied the next shot.
The Beast responded by kicking a nearby seat towards Razor, knocking him down before he could pull the trigger. The Beast rushed towards the fallen Razor with murderous intent, ready to tear him apart before Danny grabbed his tail and swung him away, skidding on the floor.
Razor looked up and raised an eyebrow at this.
"Call it even." Danny responded before seeing the Beast start to get up. "That book he's got has to have a spell that'll make your bullet waste him for good."
"Well, why didn't you say so? Get that thing!" Razor shouted.
"You want me to get you a diet soda while I'm at it?" Danny snarked before the Beast growled in annoyance at being mocked like this.
With Jack and Maddie
Removing any formal wear they had, and replacing it with their usual clothes and Ghost Hunting equipment, the two moved to go back to the theater, but saw that it was surrounded by the military.
"Excuse me, but we need to get back in there," Maddie said as she and her husband tried to get back in.
"Sorry, no civilians allowed," the soldier said as he gestured at his companions to push them away.
"How do we get back in with all these trigger-happy suits keeping us out?" Jack asks as he and his wife look at the building.
Before Maddie knew it, Dani appeared behind them.
"Anyone want a backstage pass?" She asks with a smile.
Inside
As Danny Phantom fought the Beast, Henri was backstage, watching this happen as he came to find his wife.
"My love?" He asks, finding her hiding behind a fake tree. "Alexandra? We should go, Lexi." He said as he gently grabbed her shoulder.
"Henri? What is that thing? I'm scared…" She asks.
"Come… the sooner we go, the soon-"
"Are they gone?!" Another voice asked.
Startled, the two looked to where the voice came from and saw Dubois hiding inside a barrel, her hair a mess.
"Dubois? You're still here?" Alexandra questioned.
"I can't be seen by that thing! It might devour me, or worse! Now tell me… is that boy with the powers even winning?!" She whispered harshly.
"Uh…" Henri looked to see Danny being thrown through a wall. "Not exactly…"
With Danny.
Danny pushed himself up.
"Suddenly, I miss Vlad too…" He muttered.
The Beast walked through the hole he made, going slowly with his claws lightly scraping the wall Danny propped himself on.
"So strong… yet too weak to take what should be yours…" The Beast scoffed.
"At least I wasn't a monster before I grew a tail…" Danny snarked back as he cracked his neck.
"A monster these people thought a fairy tale…" The Beast angrily shouted back. "But once I cast zhat spell… I'll use it to rid myself of what defects zhose idiots put in me. And then finally, the world will know my greatness!"
"What's even your plan? Off to chase mailmen or howl at the moon? Maybe look for a shiny fire hydrant?" Danny snarked before releasing a barrage of Ghost Rays.
The Beast rushed through the barrage, using his claws to slash through it, before grabbing his neck and slamming him to the ground.
"My plan? To kill everyone and everything until the world knows to respect me! To fear me! To know that I am the top! Give me all the women I want or I'll dine on them and their family! Maybe even rename France after me? Who knows… maybe I have no real plan? Just a goal!" The Beast declared as his grin grew.
"So… you're not just a psycho… you're a pig…" Danny said disdainfully.
"I'm a wolf… and a little bit of a lion, a hyena, and other beasts… but no pig." The Beast said before grinning. "Alzhough…" He slowly pulled Danny closer to him mouth. "I am quite hungry!"
Feeling deja vu from his battles with the Wendigo in his mind, Danny fired blue beams from his eyes, blue beams that formed ice in the Beast's mouth, being too big for his mouth to close.
"Chew on that!" Danny shouted before taking advantage of the Beast's muzzled mouth and pulled himself free.
The Beast clawed at the ice, causing pieces of it to fly off before chomping so loudly that it echoed through the room, breaking the ice in the process. He didn't have time to enjoy his freedom before a white boot hit his side, sending him into the wall.
The Beast pushed himself off the wall, pouncing on Danny. He was about to bite him when a blast of some kind hit him on the side, sending him rolling.
Danny sat up and wondered what that was before a booming laugh was heard.
"This puppy's getting put down!" Jack was heard as another blast was fired, hitting the Beast again.
Danny turned his head, relieved to see his parents with Dani, the former two armed.
"Really glad you two can't go far without something explosive… for once." Danny said as he got up.
The Beast, meanwhile, healed quickly as he stood up.
Oh good, more prey…" He said before grinning once more.
"Okay… ideas?" Maddie questioned, seeing that their weapons had no effect on the Beast.
Danny noticed that the pieces of the clothes Devereaux wore were gone, meaning he had no pockets.
"He has the book but he must have dropped it somewhere… find it! Maybe it has something we can use?" Danny suggested.
"On it!" Maddie said, adjusting her goggles as she headed back to the lower floor, seeing the destroyed rows of seats. "It must be somewhere…"
The Beast paid no attention to her as he ran on all fours to the other three.
Outside
Sam and Tucker made their way to the van, where Jazz was as well.
"Quick, ready all the weapons! We should go back in there!" Sam insisted.
"Uh… Sam?" Tucker got her attention. "Need I remind you that the Fentons hunt ghosts! Not sure how effective half of this is against him."
"It's true. Even if we set them to be lethal, his healing factor could make them useless…" Jazz said.
"Doh!" Sam grunted angrily.
Before the three knew it, a figure phased from the ground near them.
"Why are you three here?" Marie questioned them. "Why aren't you trying to stop the Beast?"
"Well, for starters, our tech is designed to fight ghosts and he has a healing factor. Not to mention…" Jazz then gestured to the building being surrounded by soldiers and military vehicles.
"Hmm… that is a pickle…" Marie pondered before an idea sprung. "The book! If I recall, there is a spell they added in case the Beast returned… the same spell used for Chastel to put him down."
"Now we're getting somewhere." Sam said with a smile.
"Only one problem…" Tucker said as he pointed back to the Palais Garnier. "It's in there…"
"I can get you in there." Marie insisted.
As that went on, Star and Kwan were looking for Star's parents through the other evacuees.
"Where are my parents?" She asks.
"They're not still in there, are they?" Kwan asks.
Star gasped in horror at the thought of her parents being trapped inside with that monster.
"There!" Kwan pointed at the alley, spotting a small window. "We can go back in through there."
"It's worth a shot, I guess." Star said as she and Kwan sneaked towards the alley. Once they were there, Star reached for the window. "Give me a boost."
Chloe, meanwhile, panicked as she and Alain were looking for Dubois, though the latter wasn't really looking. That's when her phone buzzed. Looking at it, she received a text.
"Chloe, where are you?! Get me out of here, this instant! I will not be able to give you that letter if I am dead or hurt!" It was from Madame Dubois.
"Oh no…" Chloe went, returning to her fake accent once more. "I must find a way to get back inside and save her."
"Did you hit your pretty head on our way out? Why would you go back there to rescue that stuck up woman?!" Alain questioned.
"I have to save her!" Chloe insisted.
"You've got to be kidding me…" Alain sighed as he slapped his forehead.
"I need a way in… somehow…" Chloe said as she thought of a way to go back inside and rescue Dubois to secure her future.
Before Alain could speak up, the two saw Star and Kwan climbing through a small window into the theater.
"What are they doing? Finding a way back in?!" He asked in disbelief, wondering what would compel the two Americans to go back inside the building with a bloodthirsty monster.
"Back in? Perfect!" Chloe exclaimed as she rushed towards the window, a determined look on his face.
"She's insane… I'm actually glad she turned me down…" Alain muttered before groaning. "But I cannot let her go in to risk her life for zhat old bat…"
He followed Chloe, shaking his head disapprovingly at his own actions.
Inside
Jack fired from a distance as the Beast kept dodging .
"Hold still, fleabag!" Jack shouted.
"Bite me, tu es le rejeton d'une femme idiote!" The Beast went.
"YOU LEAVE MY MOTHER OUT OF THIS!" Jack shouted furiously as he fired almost aimlessly in the Beast's direction.
With a laugh, the Beast ran circles around him, avoiding each shot with minimal effort.
Maddie, meanwhile, ducked from one shot as she kept looking.
"Book… book… where is it?" She impatiently said before someone pulled her out of the way of a blast.
"Watch it!" A familiar country voice went before shaking a fist. "Dang Jack Fenton! Watch where you shoot that thing before I shove down where the sun don't shine!"
Maddie gasped at who just saved her.
"Alicia?! W-what are you doing here?!" She questioned.
"Bakin' a cake, obviously. I'm here to rescue you from that thing!" Alicia pointed to the skirmish taking place. "The Beast, not your husband, just to be clear…"
"But… you're in serious pain!" Maddie recalled the slashes on Alicia's back. "There's no way the stitching is finished!"
"Of course, it ain't, but I ain't leaving you, or your kids… or your husband…" She muttered that last part bitterly. ".. to end up dog chow by that thing!" Alicia points to the Beast.
The Beast turned his head and grinned.
"I remember you… so you're still alive? Let us fix that…" The Beast closed the gap between him and Alicia, back handing her to the floor.
She shouted in pain as she felt some stitching being undone.
"Alicia!" Maddie called out to her, no longer upset with her.
Alicia was panting heavily. She was sweating and she tried to ignore her injury.
The beast managed to evade her gun, but she refused to give up.
"Okay, no more Mrs. Nice Guy. I'm gonna do to you what I did to that grizzly bear last Spring..." Alicia said as she got up and prepared to fire again.
However, the Beast only managed to avoid and used his legs to hit her and sent her flying to the floor, knocking down.
"Clearly, you aren't as good a marksman as you claim to be, Imbecile..." The Beast said.
"I'M A WOMAN!" Alicia yelled, offended to be mistaken.
The Beast raised a brow before laughing.
"Seriously? HA! Women of zhis era have uglier faces zhan the men of my day…" He went with an insulting smile, which made Alicia angrier.
"Okay...now I'm gonna skin ya and turn you back into a rug for TWO REASONS!" She yelled in red faced anger.
Alicia tried to attack again but the beast merely scoffed as he backhanded the weapon of her hand.
"Tsk...you can't even hold on tightly enough. Though I suppose I shouldn't have expected anything more from a mere woman...even one who doesn't even LOOK like one..." The Beast taunted.
Alicia was in pain, but also angry at the repeated insults.
Anger was replaced with fear as the Beast grabbed her by the neck and held her up.
"Aw dang…" She muttered as the Beast grinned murderously at her.
Meanwhile
Three people were sneaking in from one bathroom.
"Any sign of the soldiers?" Tucker asked.
"All clear..." Sam said as they arrived inside, crawling from the window of the theater as quickly as they could.
"Let's go and make sure Marie's help isn't in vain." Jazz whispered.
They snuck in, armed to the teeth, but were soon spotted by someone they wanted to avoid.
"YOU THREE!" A voice was heard.
They turned around and saw that it was Larissa.
"D'oh!" Sam went, upset that after all that sneaking around, they were just caught like that.
"What are you kids doing here!? No civilians are allowed inside. It's dangerous!" Larissa angrily reprimanded the teens.
"Uh, should you really be upset with us? Given what the Big Bad Wolf is doing inside? I'd be more worried about that than a couple of teens sneaking in. Seriously, talk about priorities, lady. Is there even a thing called military intelligence?" Sam asks, acting as defiant as ever with people of authority, only for Jazz to rib her painfully. "HEY!"
"Do NOT act like that in front of the military! That is disrespectful beyond belief!" Jazz hissed at her.
"Your friend here is smart… best listen to her." Larissa said as she pulled out some handcuffs, making them panic as they backed away.
However, before she could apprehend the three, someone else was being apprehended.
"Stop there, trespassers!" Another soldier exclaimed nearby.
They all turned around and soon saw that Star and Kwan had just been caught by the soldier, having crawled through the window of the room next to where the three came from.
"Uh...oh...uh...this isn't the way to the uh…gym. I guess we took a wrong turn at Albuquerque?" Kwan lied weakly, nervous after being caught.
Star heard this and dragged a hand down her face.
"Why did I ever go out with you again?" She asked with a deadpan expression, not impressed by his dimness.
"Kids these days, trying to get into trouble..." Larissa said.
"I just want to find my parents!" Star went. "I didn't see them and was afraid that they got eaten by that monster."
Larissa's expression seemed to have softened a bit upon hearing that. This was something Jazz noticed.
"Huh… I never pegged her for someone who cared about anything but her job…" Jazz whispered, quietly analyzing the lieutenant.
Larissa contemplated whether to arrest the kids or send them out to safety so she could find their families, only for something else to happen.
"Madame Dubois!" Chloe shouted in her natural accent.
All turned their heads to see the door to the room next to where Star and Kwan exited swung wide open and out ran Chloe.
"Seriously?!" Larissa shouted in anger.
Alain ran out, panting in exhaustion. Upon seeing the rest, he immediately froze, especially looking at the exasperated
'Uh… Chloe?" He went, trying to get his friend's attention, realizing she didn't notice the soldiers.
"WHY IS IT SO EASY FOR TEENAGERS TO SNEAK PAST THE MILITARY?!" Larissa shouted out to her men.
Her question went unanswered as three people were seen, from the dark hallways, making them tense. Though they calmed down when three people walked into the light, heading in their direction. These were Henri, his wife Alexandria, and Mrs. Dubois. The latter looked incredibly haggard.
"Stop making me run so much! I'm no spring chicken!" She shouted.
"No, you're just a chicken…" Henri muttered upon seeing people. "Good… the military…"
"And you are?" Larissa questioned.
"Henri Hernandez, law enforcement. I take it you-"
"Madame Dubois!" Chloe went in her natural voice. "Oh, I'm over the moon that you're all swell and dandy."
"Chloe, what took you so long? And what did I say about talking like a country bumpkin?!" She said, glaring at her.
Chloe was ashamed as her mentor reprimanded her while Alain glared at the woman.
"Shame on you! How about a little gratitude? She risked her life trying to save yours!" He yelled at her.
"Keep your voice down! I don't want that thing after me!" Dubois whispered harshly.
"What exactly are you doing?" Larissa questioned.
"She came to save her boss, despite that it's not worth it." Alain said.
"Shut it!" Chloe snapped.
"Okay…" Larissa groaned as she facepalmed. "You wanted to save your parents…" She pointed at Star. "YOU wanted to save…her…" She pointed at Chloe before gesturing at the snobbish woman. "What about the rest of you?" She asks Team Phantom.
"Uh…we needed to use the restroom?" Tucker said, causing Jazz to facepalm while Sam smacked Tucker's head.
The battle
Danny was hit with enough force to send him to the very ceiling of the building before falling face first to the floor.
The Beast laughed, seeing not only Danny, but everyone else knocked down. He picked up the book.
"Now… I shall take my leave…" The Beast said.
"Good luck with that…" Danny weakly said as he tried to sit back up. "That book isn't going anywhere with you."
"De quoi parles-tu?" The Beast questioned angrily.
"That book can't leave. They put a spell that keeps it from going…" He said with a smirk.
"So zhat is why I cannot seem to take it…" The Beast snarled before picking Danny up by the throat and lifting him up. "How do I break it down?!"
"Like I'd tell you…" Danny coughed out.
The Beast was ready to hit when Razor picked himself up and grabbed his gun, shooting the Beast in the arm to make him let go.
"GGGRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!" The Beast howled in anger.
"Darn… was aimin' for yer head." Razor laughed while wobbling.
Too injured to keep fighting, the Beast let Danny go, running towards the wall, using his claws to climb up before exiting through the door, running through the halls.
Danny pushed himself up, seeing his younger sister, father, mother and aunt on the floor, the latter's back showed the stitching had opened up.
"Aunt-uh… Are you all okay?" Danny asks as he helps Dani up.
"Anyone get the number of the piece of the floor he threw at me?" She asks, hand on her forehead.
Maddie was about to reprimand Alicia for doing something dangerous, only for Maddie to see her sister's wound has reopened, bleeding profusely.
"Alicia! You're bleeding!" Maddie exclaimed as she quickly pulled some bandages from her belt.
As Maddie tended to her sister's wound, Razor approached the group.
"Where's the book?" He angrily questioned.
"Right here." Jack held it up.
"We should burn that thing so he doesn't get what he wants." Dani suggests.
"Not until we get the spell we could use to put him down." Danny said. "Lemme see that."
Jack hands Danny the book. As he read it, there was tension within the group as Alicia glared at the man who tricked her and almost got her sister and her kids killed, though she reluctantly added Jack to the equation.
"I got my eye on you." Alicia does the "I'm watching you" gesture to Razor.
"I'm quakin' in my boots, love." Razor said sarcastically, not even looking at her.
"Are we sure this is a good idea?" Dani asks.
The Beast, meanwhile, is hiding in one of the stalls in the second-floor restroom, growling low as he uses his long claws to dig the bullet out his arm.
"What are zhey up to?" He asks as peeked his head out to listen in on the group, using his sense of hearing to pick up what's going on.
"The barrier will only last until a spell is cast. That's what Marie told us..." Danny said.
"Then we need to hurry. Who knows how long that beasty will be weakened by that bullet?" Jack said,
Unknown to them, a sinister grin appeared on the Beast's face, ears flicking as he heard every word they said.
"Ah…intéressant…" He said as he pulled back inside the restroom, seeing a means to get the book and assured his immortality.
Meanwhile
Larissa scowled at the teenagers who snuck in, all of them being forced out of the building with Henri, his wife, and Madame Dubois along.
Sam, Tucker, and Jazz were frowning, since not only were their weapons taken, but they were handcuffed since they tried to sneak away.
Suddenly, the doors opened and Danny, his family, Alicia, and Razor walked out, looking a little roughed up but thankfully unharmed.
"Well?" She asks impatiently.
"I got the book with the spell needed to put the Beast down." Danny said as he held the book up.
Before Larissa could speak up, Marie appeared and hugged Danny tightly before he let go and looked at the book.
"Thank goodness!" She went with a big smile.
"Where the heck were you?" Dani questioned with a scowl towards the ghost woman.
"I'm a queen, not a fighter…" Marie said.
"Anyway…" Danny said flatly before Dani could do something to the woman. "So, we need ingredients. We'll have to go get them…"
"That won't be necessary..." Marie said as she revealed she already had them with her, making them appear in her arms with the wave of her hand.
"How did you get them already?" Danny asked.
"I already knew about the spell to defeat that Beast. It's just that… as a ghost, I can't cast the spell. Only a human can do it." She said.
"Well… let's get the recipe or whatever ready." Danny said.
As this happened, unknown to them, the Beast was nearby and listening in on them. He grinned at them as he waited patiently
"Magnefique..." He said as he slowly healed completely.
Outside the Palais Garnier.
The entire block was quarantined, barricades placed around the area with soldiers patrolling to make sure no one could get in.
In the main entrance of the Palais, everyone watched as the female ghost prepared the ritual for the spell. A magic circle was drawn on the ground, thankfully with chalk not blood, a potion was bubbling in a giant pot since they couldn't find a cauldron, and candles around the circle. Though the ghost lady asked why there were candles, Dani just said it was for the magic atmosphere.
"Is it ready?" Danny asks.
Marie nodded as she finished drawing the magic circle, which caused it to glow dimly.
"Okay… I need a human who has some background that has a deep connection to the supernatural, dating at least a century back, like having a witch for an ancestor, or an exorcist, even a monster hunter. That's the human who is best to cast the spell." Marie said.
"Let me!" Sam eagerly raised her hand. "I am so deeply connected to the supernatural!"
Larissa nodded reluctantly, letting Sam approach as she held the book. Marie looked at it before looking at Sam and shook her head.
"No… you won't do." She said, getting closer.
"What do you mean?" Sam asks.
"I need someone with blood that is truly connected to the supernatural, blood rich with history with the supernatural. You won't do… you're too… well… common to use the book's power." Marie said.
It took a moment to register.
"COMMON?!" Sam shouted angrily.
"Yes, you have no ancestry connected to the supernatural, or any mysticism in your blood. If you wanted, you could learn to become a witch… but that takes years we don't have." Marie said as she took the book away from her. "Does anyone have any ancestry in at least fighting supernatural forces?"
As Sam fumed in anger, Danny nudged his father while still in ghost form.
"Don't you have an ancestor named John Fenton Nightingale? A witch hunter?" Danny asks.
"How'd you know about the stories my grandpappy used t-" Jack stopped. "Uh… never mind." He raised his arm. "Give me a shot!"
Marie shrugged as she handed Jack the book. As he held it open, the book's text glowed blue.
"Ah… it seems you have some wizardry and/or connections to the supernatural in your bloodline." She said in approval.
"Ha! Looks like I was born to kick more than just ghost butt!" Jack declared proudly.
Sam stormed away, looking disappointed and displeased to learn that she wasn't unique, just a normal girl with normal blood in her veins.
"Common… pfft…" She muttered.
"You'll probably wanna make more of a hassle with your parents after this." Tucker mused before he thought about his folks. "So… you think our parents are even remotely curious where we are?"
"Huh… come to think of it…" Sam's anger subsided a bit. "We hadn't called them in a while, and we thought we would be done by now… They must be looking for us…"
In Amity Park
At the Manson household, Pamela and Jeremy were watching their favorite show in the living room, drinking a bottle of wine and nibbling on some fancy cheese before Ida came by, looking confused on her moped.
"Anyone seen Sam?" Ida asks.
"Probably house sitting for the Fentons." Pamela said.
"At least they're paying her some amount…"Jeremy said.
"She's been gone for hours!" Ida went as she drove her moped away.
"I'm sure Samantha is fine…" Pamela said without a hint of concern.
"Now shh, Mother! Extreme Nanny Makeover is on!" Jeremy went.
"Ooh!" Ida went, coming back and forgetting her granddaughter's absence to watch with them.
Meanwhile, at the Foley household.
Maurice and Angela were in the living room, enjoying the quiet.
"Hey, where's Tucker?" Maurice asked as he looked around the house.
"Tucker must be staying the night at the Fenton house." Angela said.
"Finally, we can play all these classic reggae songs we used to listen to in high school without him complaining about how they don't sound very techno." Maurice said as he put the music on.
The two began to enjoy their time together without interference, dancing to the beat of the music.
Back in Paris
Jack turned the page to the spell they needed.
"Okay… now the spell ingredients." Jack said.
"Almost done." Dani said as she and Maddie were chopping parts up and using her powers to heat a cauldron.
"Aren't you helping? Seeing as your members of their team?" Larissa questioned Sam and Tucker.
"I don't touch parts of the animal I don't eat. Especially the-" Tucker held back the urge to release his bile, recalling lamb fries. "I'm good…"
"And I refuse to even use any poor animal's parts after being butchered needlessly." Sam said with disgust as she looked at the potion.
"Hmph… another stupid animal lover who thinks they appreciate the circle of life." Razor overhead as he readied his remaining bullets, much to Sam's irritation.
"And… it's done!" Maddie said.
"Read the book, please." Marie said.
Jack took one look and took in a breath.
"He can't read it." Alicia, who was on a stretcher, was heard scoffing, much to Maddie's displeasure.
"Not now…" Maddie said as a warning.
"I can read it." Jack said.
"You can't." Alicia shot back with a smirk
"It's in Latin, I can read it." Jack said.
"You read Latin?" Danny asks.
"I betcha a Twenty you can't read it!" Alicia said with a grin on her face.
"I'll read it!" Jack went.
"Fine, read it!" Alicia said.
Jack took in a breath.
"OH MAGNAS SPIRITES! BENEDICTA METALLIA POTESTATE! INTRA HOC EXTORTUS ANIMAE CORPORIS POTESTAS EMENDANDA MALUM! INCENDIO CORDE! PUNITIONE VERE MERENTI FACIT!" Jack said as the potions began to glow.
"It's working! Now put the bullets in." Marie said.
Razor did so, letting his remaining bullets into the cauldron as they began to glow.
"How much longer?" He asks.
"They should be done by now." Marie responded.
Razor pulled out the bullets, which were now a cleaner, shining white color.
"Blimey… I ain't seen anything this shiny since the Aztec gold I stole!" He said in amazement.
Alicia stared slack jawed at this before seeing Jack's smug face. She silently glared before reaching into her pocket and pulling out a $20.
"Take it." She grumbled with a frown.
Jack took it, holding it up proudly before putting it away.
"Gratias." He said, looking pleased with winning the bet.
"Show off…" She grumbled.
"Where did you learn Latin?" Dani asked.
"Again, I took a class with my former best friend." Jack reminds her.
As that went on, Danny looked outside the doors, noticing a strange blue glow that appeared before seemingly dissolving.
"Huh?" He went, stepping out towards the door.
"Now, all we need to do is find the Beast and shoot him in the chest." Marie said.
"Wonderful!" Razor grinned, holding his shotgun close in anticipation.
"You don't think he got out, did he?" Dani asks. "He's been quiet for a while…"
"He won't leave without the book… which can't leave… thanks to the barrier…" Marie said that last part in a sing-song voice.
Upon hearing that, Danny turned his head, and his eyes widened. He realizes now what he saw.
"The barrier you said won't go unless we cast a spell?" He asks.
"Yes." Marie said with a nod and smile
"Like the one we just did now?" He asks.
Upon hearing him say that, Marie's smile was replaced with a look of realization on what she did.
"Oh no…" She muttered.
"Oui." A growl said before a filing cabinet from one of the rooms was thrown, hitting and knocking down several people, Razor included. His gun slid away, making him unable to get it in time as the Beast came in and grabbed the book, backhanding Jack away. "Merci."
"Shoot him!" Larissa, who was under the cabinet with her men, ordered.
"Someone get my gun!" Razor demanded.
Before anyone could grab it, the Beast leapt up, landing and stomping his foot with enough force to break it in half.
"Euh oh, est-ce que j'ai fait ça?" He asks in a mock apology.
As he opened the book, he skimmed through it.
"Oh no… he's going to find the page with the spell…" Marie said in horror.
"Not unless we destroy that book! We got what we needed from it!" Danny said as he fired a ghost ray out of his hand.
The Beast reacted quickly, ducking before making his way out a window, landing on his feet.
"AH-HA! I have found it! And ingredients!" The Beast looked back. "Looks as if I am to go shopping!"
As he started making his way, Danny flew out and fired a ghost ray at him, which the Beast avoided with a quick step to his right.
"Aww nuts..." Danny went.
"Ha!" The Beast went, looking back with a vicious smile.
As Danny descended, Henri, who was being left out with his wife, went to Danny's side and raised a gun.
"Freeze!" He shouted.
The Beast's eyes went at Henri, then to the wife he was seen protecting before standing by Danny's side.
It caused a flashback in his mind. One of someone he regarded as a friend coming to the aid of a woman he desired, alongside a son they had.
The Beast snarled angrily at being reminded of this, as such he grabbed a nearby car and, with his inhuman strength, slid it towards them.
"CATCH!" He shouted with rage that erupted from recalling someone he hated.
Thinking fast, Danny stood in front and braced himself, catching the car and keeping momentum from pushing him further back.
"He's getting away!" Henri called out.
Danny pushed the car and looked up, seeing the Beast go deeper in the city of Paris.
The city of lovers and lights is now to be a battleground.
