A/N: Okay, I've read through all the reviews and I'm sure everyone has figured what the new upload schedule would be. From now on, every Sunday afternoon for me(probably be Monday early morning for the eastern side of the world and Saturday evening/ night for the western side) I will upload a chapter each for both Trident and Wolf.
There will be times that I might miss an update(because I tend to forget a lot of things) or an update is late or I take a break for the week(in case my creativity burns out or I can't seem to get a chapter in mind.) but if I do, I will let you guys know in a review of The Unholy Wolf.
The Next Day:
Isaiah's POV:
Training Ground #2:
"So…Canis Lykaon is gone?" Rias asked and I nodded.
"Yep. Turns out since I was not born with Canis Lykaon, having it would have been detrimental to my growth and training, so unfortunately we had to say goodbye. There might come a time where I will be strong enough to reseal him back inside me, but for now, I'm just Isaiah with Sword Birth. I did get at least get Blade Blacksmith as a trade-off, which would be nice against other Devils when you get old enough for Rating Games." I said with a smile.
"I guess that's something to be thankful for." She sighed and I gave Akeno a glance, only for her to shrug as Koneko and Gasper ate from the plate of cookies in Koneko's hands.
"Well, we're wasting daylight, so Gasper, front and centre." He tilted his head in confusion and I just shook mine.
"That means go to the middle of the field."
"Okay!" He said with a happy smile and I sighed with a smile as Akeno and Rias giggled with Koneko smirking.
"Now, what's the name of your Sacred Gear and what abilities you have as a Dhampir?"
"Uh, right! My S-Sacred Gear is named Forbidden Balor View a-and it allows me to stop the time of anything and anyone within my line of sight t-that is lower in rank than me. As a DDhampir, I have the ability to walk in sunlight without getting hurt severely. I can also use the vampiric abilities B-Blood Magic and Darkness Manipulation. Also, whenever I d-drink someone's blood, especially the blood of someone strong, I can gain a boost from them and temporarily use abilities unique to them."
"And how powerful are you right now?"
"Um…" He trailed off as he turned to Rias.
"Peak High-Class." She answered and I hummed as I turned to Gasper.
"Impressive. That does help me figure out a better training plan for you, but for now, we'll be doing good ol' Okita's Death Dodge training."
"D-D-Death D-D-D-Doge?" He asked shakily and I grinned and nodded, reaching into my pocket dimension before pulling out a bag full of bean bags.
"Hey Koneko. I may need your assistance with this." She nodded as she walked towards me.
"Akeno and I are going to be studying grimoires under the shade." I smiled and nodded and they walked to sit under the shade of a large tree, pulling grimoires out of their pocket dimensions as they sat down in between Joker and Bardou who just let them lean against them.
"Okay. Koneko's going to be throwing the bean bags at you, not enough to seriously injure you but enough to bruise. What I want you to do is freeze them while they're midair. If you feel like you can't freeze them, then you can dodge them, but for every one you dodge, you have to do 2 pushups and 2 squats." He looked a bit horrified at the punishment and I grinned before standing off to the side as Koneko cracked her knuckles and rolled her neck.
"I'll be sitting here, so you don't have to worry about anything." He gave a shaky smile and I chuckled before nodding to Koneko, who reached into the bag and picked up a bag, making sure that Gasper sees her aiming at him before she threw the bag. It travelled through the air at a snail's pace in my eyes, but I grinned as I saw a purple glow flash around it before it completely froze in midair.
"Good! Now keep it going!" I called out from where I was sitting and Gasper nodded, still a bit hesitant and scared but ready for another throw. I gave Koneko a smirk and nodded and she smirked back before picking up a bunch of them in one arm and aimed at Gasper. He only had time for his eyes to widen before Koneko began to rapid fire them at him, one after the other flying at him.
What happened next shocked me and excited me greatly as I witnessed Gasper's eyes quickly flitted to and fro behind his paper bag mask, most of the sandbags freezing instantly midair as he weaved and flipped around those he couldn't freeze. I caught a glimpse of Akeno and Rias staring at him in shock and Koneko's smirk widening as she began to pick up speed, only for Gasper to barely keep up as he now only froze a few while dodging the rest.
"And stop!" I called out and Koneko froze mid-throw as Gasper flipped over the final bag, heaving for air as sweat dripped off his body before he collapsed. The bags still frozen in the air dropped onto the ground as Gasper pushed himself up from his prone position to his knees.
'It seems he has the speed to keep up with Neko-chan, but he doesn't have the stamina to keep up with her for long. His skill with Forbidden Balor View is also impressive considering he hasn't train much with it.' I thought to myself with a grin as Koneko walked up to him and helped him to his feet before I walked to them.
"Good job for your first time. Much better than I expected and your flexibility was a pleasant surprise. And good job to you as well, Koneko. You kept him on his feet and made sure he never lost his momentum." I said with a smile as I ruffled their hair and both blushed slightly as Gasper giggled and Koneko gave a small smile.
"Now, it's time for Gasper to do his 80 pushups and 80 squats." He looked up at me with a slightly fearful gaze and I gave him a mischievious look before Koneko and I stood back.
"Come on, chop chop. We're not leaving the field until you finish all of them." He pouted slightly and slowly dropped to the ground before beginning his pushups.
"When he's done with them, give him a 5-minute break and continue the training until he can freeze all of them at the fastest you can throw them. Once he can do that, let me know and we'll continue with the next step." She nodded as she went back to watching Gasper and I walked to where Akeno and Rias were sitting before sitting down next to them, Akeno resting her head on my left shoulder as soon as I relaxed against Bardou. Rias giggled as she watched us and I smiled as I reached into my pocket dimension and pulled out the tome for Gremorian before beginning with reading it as Akeno leaned over to read as well.
'If you're reading this book and you're neither a Gremory nor able to understand and decipher Divinitin, I'd advise you to close this book before you lose your life. If you're still arrogant enough to ignore this warning and keep reading further, then please do keep on reading and kill yourself. Devil-kind does not need your genes polluting their bloodlines with your idiocy.
Now for those truly capable of reading this sentence as well as the previous paragraph, well done! You've passed the initiation test as only those truly capable of reading, understanding and deciphering all 9 fundamental runic languages are capable of reading this. For those not able to do the same, the only thing they will see is a combination of scribbles, drawings and pictures that do not fit together whatsoever.
Be warned that Divinitin's, Enochian's and Lilithian's runic alphabets are the core concepts of understanding the Gremorian Runic Languages with bits and pieces of the other 6 languages added in between to further strengthen and expand the runic bonds between the runic schemes and phrases.
"You can actually read that?" Akeno asked and I turned to see her brow furrowed cutely as she tried to decipher what I was reading.
"I never got how Father and Big Brother found this fun. It just looks like a bunch of drawings to me." I heard Rias say from my right and turned to her right besides me, looking at the pages with a frown.
"Wait, you can't read them?"I asked with a surprised look and she shrugged with a smile.
"I can, but I never understood the concept of it, so I just gave up on it. Besides, the Power of Destruction is all I needed to finish off my foes." She said with a grin as I saw the dark-red/ black aura cover her hand and I sighed.
"Rias, this is probably one of the most coveted and complex runic language in existence…and you would rather use something everyone knows about than something that could easily seal away Gods if used probably?"
"Yep!" She said with a grin and I rolled my eyes with a groan as Akeno giggled.
"What if I told you this would help you defeat Riser easily?"
"Wait, really?" She asked with an excited smile.
"…How…How much did you listen to your father when he taught you about runes?"
"Not much." She admitted shamelessly with a shrug and my eyes widened before I let out a deep sigh.
'…That's it. I'm officially classifying her as an idiot.' My face was in my palms as Akeno rubbed my back soothingly with a giggle and Rias had that same clueless smile.
"Cancel out his regeneration with 'Cursed Blood' enochian runes, snuff out his flames with 'Air Deprivation', paralyse his entire body with 'Illusive Movement'. Rias, with runes, you wouldn't even need the Power of Destruction to fight him."
"It's not my fault~it just doesn't make sense to me. Besides, that's why I have you to do that for me." She said with a bright grin and I raised an eyebrow.
"You're one lazy Devil, you know that?" I muttered and she just giggled as I went back to reading my book and they both went back to reading their grimoires.
An Hour Later:
"I wonder if 'Delay Regeneration' would combine with 'Reversed Regeneration' and 'Acid Blood' to counter a person's regenerative factor. What if I create a blade with Blade Blacksmith that can negate fire and wind and combine the runic scheme with the blade to create a sword capable of completely nullifying a Phenex's regeneration? Oh, what if I create a Holy Blade with 'Quadruple Affinity Boost' and 'Quadruple Power Boost? That should take care of most Devils, but that would be heavily detrimental to me as well unless… I create a runic scheme that protects me from the Holy energy while also using a runic scheme that converts the excess Holy energy into Demonic healing energy that keeps my health and stamina at full. Ooh~another combination to be added to the collection."
I was in full crafting mode, ignoring Rias and Akeno looking over my shoulder as I sketched my ideas in my sketchbook I bought at one of the stores in the Underworld, making sure to write all of the characteristics, abilities and the runic phrases and languages that were needed to make the perfect regeneration destroying blade.
"You're really creative when you want to inflict pain of others." Rias muttered and I grinned as Akeno giggled, though I did smell a familiar strawberry scent from her.
Looks like someone's imagination is running wild again
"More fun for me and less fun for those I face." I muttered as I finished the sketch.
A dirk with a white blade and a light blue hilt, the runic phrases for 'Quadruple Attachment' written in Divinitin on the hilt and the phrases 'Affinity Boost' and 'Power Boost' written in Enochian on both sides of the blade.
"Done." Us three looked up and saw Koneko standing with an empty bag at her side, half of the bean bags scattered on the ground in front of her as the other half laid scattered behind Gasper. Gasper himself was on his hands and knees, not even noticing the fact that his mask was completely gone as he was drenches in sweat and heaving for air.
"How much?"
"About 70%." Koneko answered with a shrug and I nodded as I turned to the tired boy.
"Go rest up for today. We'll continue the training tomorrow." He gave a shaky nod and Koneko picked him up and followed Rias back to his room as Akeno and I looked on.
"He may be a Bishop, but the guy almost has as much stamina as I do."
"Maybe he wants to prove to you that he can fight by your side and be your right-hand man. Make you proud. You did change his outlook on life and helped give him more confidence in a matter of hours."
"I tend to have that effect on people, don't I?" I said with a grin and she just rolled her eyes with a playful smile before she put away the grimoires and we walked back to the castle.
"So, Lady Gremory told me that you should not forget about the annual Royal Gathering as you are to be the star of the show." My head snapped to face her as my brow furrowed.
"Wait, why me?"
"All of the Pure-Blood Devils want to meet the prodigious Knight of Rias Gremory that became an Ultimate-Class Devil at just 12 years old and in just a quarter of the time as the average Reincarnated Devil." I groaned as I heard that and she giggled as we passed the maids.
"You know, maybe all that training wasn't such a good idea as I thought it was." I mumbled and Akeno smirked as we entered the library, Joker and Bardou trotting past us as they headed for my room.
"Ara-Ara~Who knew the great Isaiah was such an introvert?"
"More like I don't have the strength to keep up a facade for the entire night, but I suppose this is good. Maybe I can assess this Riser for myself. He is coming as well, right?" She nodded with a frown and I grinned.
"Good. If all goes well, I should have an accurate estimate of his strength and be able to create a blade able to take him down with ease."
"I'm sure Rias will like that. Now, I will leave you to your studies. Grayfia wants me to attend my final lesson today."
"I'm sure you'll pass with no problem whatsoever." I said with a smile and she smiled as she gave me a quick kiss before hurrying out of the room, leaving me alone in the library.
"Now, time to find those books on Divinitin and check if my ideas are possible."
A Week Later:
"Well, you healed a lot faster than I estimated you to. In fact, I'd say you're able to start training anytime you want."
"Thank you, Lord Sitri." I said with a smile and he ruffled my hair before he turned to Sirzechs.
"Like I said, let him train, but I'd advise you wait until he continues with his contracts just in case something happens. Other than that, he should be good to go, Lord Lucifer"
"Will do. Thank you once again, Lord Sitri."
"My pleasure." Lord Sitri greeted with a head bow, which Sirzechs reciprocated, before he gave me a final smile and walked out.
"He's a really friendly Devil." I said as I put my shirt back on, the only sign of my battle with the assassins being the small scar on my chest.
"Well, House Gremory and House Sitri have been friends and allies for millennia and you are a vassal for House Gremory as well as the Knight of the heir to House Gremory, so that friendship extends to you as well." I hummed as I finished buttoning up the shirt and rolled my shoulders, Sirzechs chuckling as my grin widened and I hopped slightly to get my blood pumping.
"You're going to back to training as soon as you get home, aren't you?"
"The grind waits for no one." I said with a grin and he chuckled before he placed his hand on my shoulder and the Gremory crest appeared under us. There was a bright flash of crimson before we disappeared, leaving the room empty once again.
Gremory Castle, Castle Courtyard:
"See you, Lord Sirzechs and thank you." I greeted with a bow and he smiled as I ran across the courtyard, marvelling at how much faster I was going than my former top speed before the battle.
It was not long before I stopped right outside Training Ground #2, Okita already waiting there with his arms crossed as Akeno sat in the shade of the trees with Joker and Bardou huddled around her. She smiled and waved as I entered the Training Ground and I smiled and waved back right before Okita's laughter reached my ears.
"Still as lovey-dovey as always with you two, huh?" I rolled my eyes as Akeno flushed slightly and hid her face behind the grimoire she was reading.
"So let me guess. We're measuring everything once again and after that, I'll be left to do my own thing as you figure out a traininig plan." He just laughed before he spoke.
"Nope!" I was confused before I heard loud footsteps behind me and turned to see MacGregor and Surtr walking up.
"Lord Sirzechs wants all three of us to be handling your training personally as well as make sure that no other assassins come to finish the job. I'm going to be handling speed, reflex and perception training. Surtr is going to do your strength, endurance and durability training and MacGregor is going to continue your runic spells and magical training." The grin on my face was wider than ever and I was shaking with excitement and happiness.
"But yeah, you're right. We're first measuring." Okita said with a grin and my smile shrunk as I mock-glared at him.
"Play with my feelings, why don't ya?" I grumbled and he laughed before the Gremory crest appeared next to him and the Demonic Entity Reading Analyzer appeared besides Okita, taking out the Speed Calculator as I quickly jogged to one end of the lake.
"You know the process, gaki, but this time, make it 20 times back and forth instead of just the usual 10." I nodded as I crouched into a runner stance.
"On your marks. Get set…go!" I was gone before they could blink, reappearing at the tree line before spinning around and blitzing back in just a second. I could see the shock on Akeno's face as well as the look of happiness on Okita's face as I finished all 20 laps in just 20 seconds, skidding to a stop behind the starting line as I let out deep breaths.
That…was a whole lot faster than before. In fact, I'd say that was almost triple my previous top speed.
"593,3 km/h. …Gaki, I thought you were injured." Okita said with a wide grin and I genuinely laughed with glee as I quickly ran towards them.
"Come on, come on! Let's keep going." I nodded before catching the Strength Analyser he tossed my way before I let out a deep breath and got ready for the pain. I was not prepared. It was like scalding hot water was being poured on my palm as I gritted my teeth and held it tight for three seconds before quickly letting go, handing the gadget back to Okita as I watched the burn wounds slowly heal. Okita placed the two gadgets inside the machine and took out the Demonic Energy Reader.
"The more it burns and pains, the stronger you are." Surtr said from the side and he gave me a wide grin.
"What is it the kids of these times say again? I think it was 'More Pain, More Gain', right?"
"'No Pain, No Gain' Surtr." MacGregor corrected from where he was helping Akeno understand the magic grimoire and Surtr laughed as Okita and MacGregor sighed.
"Ignoring that, gaki, time to let loose." Okita said with a wary glance, probably remembering what happened last time I did, and MacGregor was now staring at me and waiting for it as he was probably going to protect the others by creating a barrier in front of them. I nodded as I reached for my magic, grasping the valve with a deep breath before I grunted as I twisted it.
I expected it to roar off of me and destroy the surrounding area as it usually does. What I did not expect was just a palpable aura of bloodlust to slowly radiate off me as thick sparks of electricity surged across my body and gusts of winds blasted dust everywhere. The aura didn't feel as dense as it was previously. In fact, it felt as if my Demonic Energy was just a bit higher in quality and quantity compared to when Okita first measured my Energy.
'Maybe unlocking my werewolf heritage caused this. As far as I knew, werewolves are beings of force and power, not mysticism, and maybe unlocking that part of me used up about 70% of my Demonic Energy to boost my overall physical prowess in exchange for permanently lowering my magical capabilities.'
"It's okay, gaki. You can let loose." Okita said loudly and I shrugged.
"This is everything." He looked surprised as he turned to MacGregor, who nodded as if to confirm my statement. He looked down at the machine in his hand before he sighed as he plugged the reader into the Analyser, Surtr and MacGregor looking over his shoulders as Akeno and I waited for the results.
"Strength: Mid Ultimate. Speed: High Satan. Demonic Energy: …Low High. Overall: Peak Ultimate-Class. I guess you have a lot on your plate, huh MacGregor?" He just sighed as I mulled over my stats, which confirmed my hypothesis of whether or not my werewolf heritage boosted my physical stats while lowering my magical stats.
"It's a lot lower than I expected, but considering the average Ultimate-Class werewolf has as much Demonic Energy as the average Middle-Class Devil, I supposed it's not of much worry. I'll return tomorrow with a full training regime of what we'll need to do to increase your Demonic Energy to back and beyond its former level as well as work on your control over it and your runic languages training." I nodded at that before I turned to Okita.
"So, who's going first?" I asked and he grinned as he turned to Surtr, who took off his greatsword from his back and tossed it onto the ground besides him as he cracked his knuckles.
"How are we doing this?" I asked as I rolled my neck and he laughed.
"Hand-to-Hand combat. I punch and you block and vice versa. You don't dodge, you don't parry, you don't counter. You block the blows and you keep moving. We'll keep fighting for an hour straight with no interruptions and no breaks."
"…Basically, I'm going to be doing the exact opposite of what a Knight is suppose to be." I asked and he grinned with a nod as I sighed, rolling my shoulders before I raised my fists.
"Ready?" He asked and I nodded before I instinctively crossed my arms in front of me, grunting as I felt what felt like a sledgehammer slam into them. I gritted my teeth as I tried to block it, only for Surtr's grin to widen as he overpowered my block with ease and send me skidding across the ground. Quickly flipping around, my eyes widened as I pushed off the ground and punched as hard as I could, my fist clashing with Surtr's and he looked a bit surprised as I pushed him back for a split second.
"Nice!" He said with a grin before I saw his other hand come up and I grinned as I jumped and hooked my leg around his arm, grabbing him by the back of his head before I pushed his head down and my knee snapped up. I saw the grin on his face widen as his head snapped backwards, his nose not even broken as he stopped before his head snapped forward and slammed me into the ground with a headbutt.
"But not enough power! For that, I'm doubling the attack power of the next blow!"
'What the hell?! He can hit harder than that?!' My eyes widened as I quickly got to my knees and raised my right arm above me, muffling my cry of pain as I felt the bones break in my forearm from blocking Surtr's punch before I grunted as I heaved and pushed his fist away. Glancing down at my purple arm, I flexed the muscles tightly and grimaced as I felt the bones shift crudely back into place.
Wiping the grimace from my face, I grinned as I finally felt my adrenaline pumping through my veins and the ecstatic high from the battle against the assassins flood through me.
"Is that all you got?!" I exclaimed as I blasted at full speed towards Surtr and he bellowed with laughter as he matched my insanity and we clashed in the middle, Akeno's slight squeal echoing through the training ground as a shock wave cratered the ground under us.
Both our grins widened as we glared at each other before we blitzed around, fists and legs flashing forward in punches and kicks as we blocked and tanked each other blows. The ground cratered and cracked and dust clouds exploded into existence as we rushed across the entire training ground, with Surtr slamming me repeatedly into the ground only for me to just jump back up and rush at him for more.
I knew I was never going to beat Surtr in a contest for durability and power, but right now, that was the last thing on my mind. Right now, I just felt the need to punch something and Surtr was probably the only one who would take my blows with a grin.
"The hour's over! Stop!" Okita's shout stopped us in our tracks and we barely managed to stop our blows, my quick jab that was heading for Surtr's throat being mirrored by his monstrous hook towards my temple. Surtr only had a small bruise on his neck where I had slammed a heavy elbow while my entire body was bruised purple and black. Some of the bones in my arms, my left shoulder, my right leg and a few of my ribs were broken, with even more fractured and yet, I was still raring for more.
That was probably the most fun fight I had in a while with someone other than Sairaorg.
I wanted…no…I needed more!
"Oi, gaki, calm the hell down!" I dimly heard Okita say right before a smack snapped me out of my dazed state and I shook my head, blinking a few times to see Okita and Akeno staring at me with concern in their eyes as MacGregor and Surtr stared at me.
"You with us?" I nodded slowly before stifling my painful groans as the pain hit me, my arms hanging loosely as I balanced on my left leg.
"Here." Okita said as he handed me a Phenex Tear and I smiled as I popped off the cork with my teeth before biting on the top of it and taking it from Okita's hand as I tossed it back. I sighed as I felt the healing magic flow through me and I heard all of my bones crack and creak as they shifted back into place and healed along with the bruises.
"So…care to explain why you went berserk back there?"
"Wait, really?" I didn't feel like I went berserk. I mean, I might have been aiming to kill Surtr most of the time, but I think that's just Okita's training coming to play.
"I believe that's the heritage that Lycaon awakened inside you. Werewolves are beings of chaos and massacres, so the fact that you didn't just forget about the rules and used blades to fight with is impressive of your willpower."MacGregor said from where he was standing next to Akeno, a barrier in front of her to protect her from the shock waves.
"Well…it didn't feel right to use blades since you guys did say it was hand-to-hand combat training. Besides, the old man would've probably created a punishment if I did try to use Sword Birth and I can't use Blade Blacksmith yet." I said with a sheepish smile and Okita rolled his eyes as Surtr chuckled and MacGregor smirked.
"That is true, but we have another thing to add to the list. MacGregor, you're the best with that kind of thing, so…" Okita trailed off as he turned to MacGregor, who just rolled his eyes.
"Fine. I'll help the boy with keeping his instincts at bay as well as his Sacred Gears."
"Great! Now then, your hand to hand training time has been shortened to just 30 minute fights with 10-minute breaks in between until we figure out how to help you control your instincts." I nodded as I stretched my sore muscles and he nodded before his fist flashed forward. I grinned as I easily moved out of the way of the punch, as well as the twenty other punches that followed after.
"Good, you still can keep up with 50% of my full speed. Now then, you know what time it is." He said as he pulled out a familiar black headband and I grinned as I took it and quickly jumped back, Air Current Sense and Electroception at full blast as I tied the headband tightly around my eyes.
"MacGregor, protect the gaki's girl! I don't want him complaining to me if I accidentally hit her! Here we go, gaki!" I grinned as I felt the piles of familiar bags appeared spread around me in a circle. I took a deep breath before Okita disappeared and dozens of bean bags flew towards me from all directions before I moved.
3rd Person POV:
"…Amazing." Akeno muttered as she watched Isaiah seamlessly weave and contort around the throws of Okita, not even able to see Okita moving and yet, Isaiah's head was twisting and turning as if he could see him. What's even more impressive is the fact that he was blindfolded and yet, he moved so fast and each step of his was certain as if the world itself was but a mere extension of him.
"The kid's good. The only people I've seen that can push Okita to move that fast are Enku and Beowulf and even then, they can barely keep up with him." Surtr muttered and MacGregor nodded as purple magic circles were in front of his eyes, both eyes moving on their own as one kept track of Okita and one kept track of Isaiah's movements.
'…I thought I would have been able to keep up with him and yet…I can barely keep up with half of his movements.' Akeno thought to herself with a bitter smile as she watched Isaiah before she heard MacGregor speak.
"Do not worry, child. Unlike the rest of you, Isaiah was an ordinary human and an orphan. He has experienced what it means to be weak, to be useless, to be prey. Now, he has a hunger inside him to become the predator, to be the strongest, so that he never experiences that feeling of being weak ever again. You had your mother, Rias has her family and Koneko had her sister. You girls have always, have always had someone that will protect you, so you three girls never understood what it truly means to be useless.
And now that you've experienced it for the first time, you are doubting if you can stay by his side when you can barely see what is happening in front of you. You now have a choice in front of you: Do you become stronger so that when the world turns against him and he needs you, you are there to help him battle against life and death or will you stay as weak as you are and always burden him with your troubles?" MacGregor spoke without taking his eyes off the battle and there was a slight look of fear on Akeno's face before it disappeared and resolve took its place. She didn't even say goodbye to them as she put her grimoires away and walked back to the castle, MacGregor and Surtr smirking as they felt her magic rage inside her.
"Never knew you to be so kind-hearted." Surtr said and MacGregor chuckled as they watched two bean bags take Isaiah's feet out from under him before another came and smashed into his side, making him gasp for air as he rolled with the blow and spun to his feet. He coughed slightly as he grimaced and rubbed his side before leaning back as three more bean bags flew for his head.
"There are a lot of things you don't know about me." MacGregor said with a smirk before he sighed as he created a barrier in front of them just in time for the bean bags to smash against them.
"We're speeding up, gaki!"
"Bring it on, old man!" They heard Isaiah goat him on and MacGregor sighed once more as Surtr's loud laughter echoed throughout the training ground.
A Week Later:
"Is that him? The prodigy of House Gremory?"
"Indeed it is. I must say, for a lower-class devil, his etiquette is immaculate. And did you see his dancing? Truly astonishing how seamlessly he can move around the floor with ease."
"And the way he follows his master around. He is truly well-trained." I just kept my smile up as I heard the mutters and whispers of the lords and ladies around me, following Rias around on her left side as Akeno followed at her right side. Both girls were dressed in elegant ballroom gowns, with Rias' being a dark-red with crimson heels and Akeno's being a deep violet with purple heels. I was dressed in a two-piece dark blue suit with a white dress shirt, a dark blue bow tie and black dress shoes. Rias and Akeno had their hair done up in buns with a bang on either side of their faces as I had to gel my hair back, leaving me with a slicked-back style as a t strand hung across my forehead.
I basically had a blonde Aizen-Sosuke style, which…I didn't hate, but it wasn't for me.
"Don't worry about them. They don't know what they're talking about." Rias whispered softly and I smiled.
"The words are of no concern, Lady Rias. I merely tune them out." Rias and Akeno giggled as I could feel the feathers ruffling of the lords and ladies who heard my words.
"Ah, there you are!" Rias said and Sona turned around as she heard Rias speak, Tsubaki and another two girls with her. One was a girl with white hair and blue-green eyes dressed in a strapless white dress and the other was a girl with long brown hair that ends in two short braids and matching eyes dressed in an auburn dress with a slit on her right leg that ran up to her lower thigh, revealing the underside of a light brown thigh. Tsubaki and Sona were dressed in matching purple dresses with heels and Sona had a dark blue rose pin in her hair as Tsubaki had her hair hang loose.
"So you brought Momo and Reya with you as well." Rias said as she waved at the two girls, who waved back.
"I believe that being placed in high-class scenarios will allow them to develop faster, so I brought them with me. I do believe you have not met them, Isaiah." I smiled and she nodded as she gestured at the two girls.
"Isaiah, these two ladies are Momo Hanakai and Reya Kusaka, my first and second Bishop respectively. Ladies, this is Isaiah Azathoth, Rias' only Knight and the wielder of Canis Lykaon."
"Former wielder." I corrected and she turned back to give me a look of confusion as I caught glimpses of the other devils around us listening in."
"Former?" She asked and I nodded.
"Yes, former. I was not born with Canis Lykaon as my friend gave it to me on her death bed, so it was actually permanently limiting my ability to grow stronger. The power would have one day killed me, so I had to let it go. There was a silver lining, though. I found out that I actually had three Sacred Gears, not just two, so now I'm the wielder of both Sword Birth and Blade Blacksmith." Her eyes widened slightly along with those around us that knew what Blade Blacksmith was.
"Is Blade Blacksmith not a High-Class Sacred Gear that allows its wielder to create Holy Blades with different attributes?" The others that finally figured it out all gasped softly and I nodded.
"Indeed it is and with the combination of Sword Birth and Blade Blacksmith, I do believe the possibility exists that one day, I can unlock a Balance Breaker capable of creating Holy-Demonic Blades that are each on the same level as Excalibur, Caliburn, Durandal and Gram."
"I see. Truly, Rias struck gold with you."
"You can praise me more." Rias said with a smug smile and I just chuckled and nodded before I noticed the devils around us breaking away from their groups and walking to their respective lord/ lady to share the information they learned.
Just as Lord Gremory planned.
"I thank you for your praise, Lady Sona." She nodded right before we felt the temperature of the room slowly rise and Sona sighed as Rias glared slightly at someone behind me.
"So, this is the one who's suppose to beat me, huh Rias?" I heard a familiar voice asked and I smirked as I turned around, staring into a not fully buttoned up white shirt and revealing a slight glance of a muscular chest. My eyes travelled up slightly until it met amused dark-blue eyes staring down at me.
"A little puppy that isn't even strong enough to keep his Sacred Gear." He said with a mocking grin and I chuckled.
"Better than a chauvinistic idiot that can't even keep his engagement in tact." I said with a smile and Rias and Akeno giggled. His grin slightly shrunk as he was glaring at me, which I reciprocated as a burnt-orange aura slowly appeared around him and a light-blue aura appeared around me. Looks like I'm meeting the turkey earlier than I expected.
