Serafall Memorial Hospital, Lilith, Underworld:
A day after the Semi-Finals:
Akeno's POV:
"Still no changes?" I asked as I walked into the room, Rias shaking her head negative as she held a silent Seekvaira, whose eyes were puffy as she stared at the still form of Alivian lying on the bed.
Bandages covered his upper body and numerous IV's & wires were attached to him, the beeping of the heart monitor echoing in the background as I placed the two cups of coffee in front of them.
"Sairaorg and the others give their regards." I said as I sat down on the chair at the left side of the bed, adjacent to where they were sitting on the right, and Seekvaira just nodded before I sighed.
It's been a day after the Semi-Finals and some people were still a bit traumatized at what happened yesterday. The sight of numerous light gray spikes the size of trees piercing through Alivian's body was a gory sight and so, the Finals were delayed until next week.
"Where's Isa?" I heard Rias ask and I sighed.
"Gone. Dropped off the face of the Underworld. Just left a note that said that he's training and took Bardou with him." That made her sigh before Seekvaira spoke.
"Why did it have to happen to Alivian?" Her voice was hoarse as she asked that and I sighed as Rias gave me a pleading glance.
"Don't worry. Isa will get that idiot back for what he did." Rias tried to cheer her up, but she just went back to being silent as she stared at Alivian, making both of us sigh as we stayed silent.
At the same time:
With Isaiah:
Isaiah's POV:
"Uh, Master!" I could hear Bardou shout, but I tuned him out as I kept throwing punch after punch, the forest I've been destroying for the past 20 hours, reduced to nothing more than a desolate wasteland as broken blades and craters were everywhere.
"You done now?" He asked and I sighed as I stopped punching the air. Falling onto the ground to my knees, I nodded before he shook his head with a sigh.
"Sorry about that." I muttered and Bardou just shrugged as he sat down on his hindlegs.
"Nah, I understand that you needed to cool down." He said and I smiled as I moved to lean back and stretched out my legs in front of me.
"So…?" He asked and I just stared up at the purple sky before I spoke.
"I'm going to kill him."
"I guess I should've expected that from you." I just smiled as I patted him on the head before he groaned and whipped me in the face with his tail. He kept staring at me as I just stared out at the devastation around me before the Azathoth crest appeared under him.
"Make sure to come back after you calmed down, because if you don't, Kuroka and Mistress are going to make me come find you and I'm too lazy to do that." I just nodded and he nodded before he disappeared in a blue flash, leaving me alone in the middle of the wasteland before I heard Mel speak.
'Are you sure this is the best course of action? If you follow through with this idea, you're putting a very big target on your back.'
"There's already a big target on my back, so a bigger one won't matter and besides, some of the pure-blood devils still think that I'm just a Reincarnated Devil with powerful connections and a bit of power to my name. That means that no matter what I do, they'll still try to find a way to undermine me and/ or insult me. Let's show them what I truly am."
'Then I guess it's time for the Nephilim Monarch to make his debut.' Mel said in an excited tone and I chuckled.
"That needs a way better nickname." He just grumbled at my words before I sighed as I stood up. Dissipating all of the broken blades with a wave of my hand, I looked at the destruction around me before I disappeared in a bright flash of blue.
Serafall Memorial Hospital, Lilith, Underworld:
As I reappeared in front of the most famous hospital in the Underworld, I was greeted by a large horde of reporters that were trying to get into the hospital before they all turned and saw me just standing there.
"Lord Azathoth! A minute of your time!"
"Isaiah! May we talk to you about yesterday?!"
"What is your relation to Lord Alivian, Lord Azathoth?!" In the blink of an eye as a bright blue sphere appeared around me, the entirety of it covered in defensive runes and there were yelps and screams of shocks as all of the reporters were pushed away. I sighed as I turned to the reporters standing on the outside of my bubble before I spoke.
"I won't answer any questions, but I will say this. This is a message to my opponent in the Finals." I said before looking at the cameras, all of them aiming at my face.
"Diamante Fleurety, I know that you know that Alivian and I are close friends and that you tried to kill him to make me angry. Well, it worked, but not as you wanted. In a week's time at New Satan's Stadium, you'll not be facing Isaiah Azathoth, the prodigy of House Gremory. No, you'll be facing Isaiah Azathoth, the guy that took on the Four Cardinal Kings of the Satans when he was just 14 years old. You'll be facing Isaiah Azathoth, the young man who mastered the runic language Gremorian at age 15. You'll be facing Isaiah Azathoth, the monster that is coming for your soul and will not stop until you're nothing more than a bloody puddle on the ground. You thought that your heritage will help protect you here. No, in a week's time, House Fleurety will only be a decrepit loser of an old fart stuck in a prison and nothing more." With that said and everyone completely shocked at my declaration, I created a tunnel of runes towards the doors, pushing everyone out of my way as I began walking to the hospital.
Walking inside while ignoring the onslaught of questions fired at me, I was greeted by a shocked crowd of devils that were sitting in the lobby and staring at me. Ignoring them, I walked to the shocked attendant at the desk before I spoke.
"What room is Alivian in?"
"R-R-Room 317."
"Thank you." I said with a soft smile before I walked to the stairs, not wanting to be stuck in the elevator with all of the other devils.
*KNOCK* *KNOCK*
"Come in." I heard Rias' voice and walked into the room greeted by Seekvaira and Rias sitting on the right side of the bed and Akeno sitting on the left.
"Are you okay?" Akeno asked as she stood up and walked towards me, with me just smiling as I nodded and gave her a soft kiss on the forehead.
"I just needed some time to cool down." I muttered and she nodded, still hugging me tightly and I smiled before I turned to Alivian. His breathing was soft but stable, with his chest rising and lowering in periodic intervals.
"I'll make sure he pays for what he did, Seek." I said to Seekvaira and as she glanced back at me, nothing but pure and utter rage burned in her eyes.
"Make sure he pays." Was all she said before she turned back to staring at Alivian, making Rias and Akeno sigh as I just nodded.
A Week Later:
New Satan Stadium, Lilith, Underworld:
3rd Person POV:
"Welcome back, all to the Underworld's Reincarnated Devils Ranking Tournament GRAND FINALSSSSS!" The atmosphere was ablaze as the crowd roared in excitement. The entirety of the arena was packed and even all 7 of the VIP Booths were packed to the brim with pure-bloods, all wanting to see the finale of the tournament. "As this tournament has been a bit destructive since the Quarter Finals, we'll be using the same technology as Rating Games to watch it as the match will be taking place in an alternate dimension in the Dimension Gap!" That brought another roar from the crowd as Reval chuckled.
"Now, the tournament took a dark turn last week, but with the Rating Game technology, things won't go that far! Now, without further ado, let's introduce the final two, who have defeated 318 others to make it this far!" The crowd quickly went silent as the top of the arena slowly closed right before spotlights turned on and aimed at the tunnel on the left.
"He's been the outstanding one of the tournament thanks to his Smoke Manipulation and his playful nature, but we've seen how powerful he can be! He just has one more opponent to beat, but will he be able to defeat this opponent and win the title of Champion or will he be destroyed?! Let's hear it for the Heir to House Fleurety, one of the Six Houses of Lucifer, and the Queen of the Rating Game Emperor Diehauser Belial…DIAMANTE FLEURETY!" The slouched form of Diamante walked out of the tunnel, a swagger in his step as he walked into the arena and surprisingly, there were a few boos in the cheering of the crowd that made Diamante frown for just a split second before it disappeared. The lights then turned off before they turned back on, now aimed at the tunnel on the right.
"And his opponent is someone everyone knows all too well! A knight in all but blood as he's been chivalrous and fair to his foes, yet he made a declaration a week ago that showed us his rage for the first time! Now, will he follow up on his promise or will his declaration be nothing more than empty words?! You all know him! You all love him! Put your hands together for the Knight of Rias Gremory, the prodigy of House Gremory and the Lord of House Azathoth…ISAIAH AZATHOTH!" Isaiah walked out of the tunnel, the expression being a mask of cold stoicism as he stared at Diamante, stopping a few feet away from him as the lights turned back off before the top of the arena opened once more.
"Do the fighters have anything to say to each other before we begin?"
"I do hope you at least try to entertain me, young Isa. I'd rather not win this because you were too weak to live up to your name." Diamante said with a mocking smirk, only for it to slowly disappear as Isaiah just stared at him with an unblinking gaze.
"…Okay, and with the opponents saying that, let's take them to the Rating Game arena." Both fighters were covered in a bright purple aura before they disappeared from the arena, reappearing in a purple abyss that stretched as far as the eye can see, a kaleidoscope of stars in the background. At the arena, a large array of screens appeared, with cameras broadcasting the fight from all angles to the screens.
"Are both contestants ready?!" Diamante nodded as he took his hands out of his pockets, but Isaiah was just standing there, his hands resting at his sides before he finally moved for the first time. He raised his right hand slowly and brought it up to his neck, a deranged grin slowly growing on his face as he dragged his index finger over his throat while glaring at Diamante.
"Now, without a further adieu, let the final match…begin!" Both fighters didn't move, as Diamante just waited for Isaiah to make the first move. Isaiah just stared at him as his right hand dropped back to his side before he spoke.
"I'm going to give you one chance and one chance only to apologize for what you did to Alivian." Diamante just raised an eyebrow before he chuckled.
"You expect me to apologize for harming my opponent in battle? This is a tournament with a high casualty number. He should have expected his death." Isaiah didn't answer as he stared at him and Diamante frowned at his silence before he smirked.
"And what if I don't?"
"I'll kill you." The leisure way Isaiah said it, made Diamante falter slightly as he did not expect it. The fact that he said it as if he could do it at any time send a slight shiver through Diamante's body, but that did not stop the rage he felt at the fact that a lesser Devil thought that he could kill him, a descendant of one of the Six Houses of Lucifer.
"Then please, show me. Maybe when I win, I can force that Akeno girl to my room. You two seem to have a very friendly relationship, so perhaps she'll be even more satisfied with a real Devil instead of the fake." He said with an arrogant grin and Isaiah sighed as he stared at Diamante before he disappeared. In the blink of an eye, Isaiah was in front of him, Touki and Storm King's Aura raging around him as his form was now just a constant blur.
"Piercing Fang: Lycan's Rampage." He said in a soft tone and Diamante's eyes widened as he sent out a torrent of smoke only to gasp as Isaiah's fist slammed into his gut, a constant blast of wind surrounding them and warding the smoke away before the force finally hit and Diamante was sent barrelling backwards. Isaiah didn't stop there as he bolted after him, two twin silver daggers in his grasp as he appeared above Diamante before stabbing down.
Diamante barely twisted around the attack, but had to stifle his scream as a third weapon appeared from Isaiah's elbow, its blade glowing a bright white as it pierced right into his right thigh. Quickly jumping away, Isaiah dodged the smoke spikes trying to pierce him from behind as he watched Diamante roll across the ground, quickly getting his left leg under him while also trying to stop the bleeding in his right thigh.
A forest of silver blades and hilts appeared around Isaiah and he grabbed a random nodachi, the rest of the blades shattering as he slowly got into a familiar stance that made Diamante swear.
'Sandanzuki: Tsubame Gaeshi.' Isaiah appeared in front of Diamante, the nodachi glowing a bright blue and sparking with electricity before Isaiah attacked. A barrage of quick slashes was unleashed at Diamante, with him quickly turning his form into smoke just in time as his head and limbs were severed and his body was disembowelled.
"…" Isaiah didn't say anything as he turned back to stare at Diamante, who just stared down in shock at his chopped up body before everything slowly connected back and he turned to stare at Isaiah with a slight bit of fear in his eyes.
"H-Hehe, is that all? I suppose I shouldn't have expected more from a lesser Devil." Diamante tried to act confident, but Isaiah didn't speak as he just stared at him before Storm King's Aura and his Touki disappeared. He raised his right foot before stomping it down onto the ground, a cage of runes spreading out of it before a large barrier appeared around them.
"Anti-Teleportation and Anti-Recalling Runes made out of Gremorian. I don't want you to be able to escape from me."
"Oh? And what makes you think I'd run from you?" Isaiah's next words made Diamante regret what he said and sent screams of shock throughout the arena.
"I, who is about to awaken,
Am the Heavenly Demon who has stolen the Treasures of Malebranche from the Morning Star." Looks of horror appeared on the faces of the elder pure-blood lords and Zekram pale slightly as he heard Isaiah's words.
{This body, this soul, it will be reborn anew} Mel's voice echoed throughout the void, drawing slight nervousness from Diamante as a pitch-black aura began to flow off of Isaiah, streaks of blue and crimson running through the aura.
"Having forged and stolen over a Thousand Treasures, these hands know not Love nor Hate."
{The Morning Star will rise once more.} Isaiah's form was now completely covered in the dark aura, which was now big enough to cover everything within 5 meters around him.
"Let all be witness to the birth of the Nephilim."
{And let the World realize what it means to awaken the Monarch} Diamante created waves upon waves of smoke, assaulting the pillar of aura with every weapon and form he could think off, but nothing was even scratching it as it slowly shrunk down until it was in the shape of a humanoid form just slightly taller than he was.
"As I pray" A mane of flowing pitch black hair slowly formed around the head of the being, a scarf made out of the dark energy wrapping around the neck of the being and stretching out behind it for at least 10 meters. Claws grew on fingers and toes, each of them covered in the Gremorian runic pattern.
{Let us Awaken} A fanged grin appeared on the face of the being before heterochromatic eyes opened with a bright flash: the right a deep crimson the colour of blood, the left a neon blue the same as that of a clear sky.
{"ABYSSAL BREAK: NEPHILIM MONARCH!"} Gremorian runes spread all across its chest, forming some sort of tribal markings all over its upper body and the being that was formerly Isaiah took a deep breath before it glared at the nervous Diamante.
"Let's begin, shall we?" In the blink of an eye, Diamante was sent flying head over heels further into the abyss, Isaiah now standing where he was before he grinned as he disappeared
. A black streak ripped through the air after Diamante, the space around it warping before Diamante's eyes widened as Isaiah's form appeared above him, a pitch-black spear with blue streaks running across the blade in its grasp. Diamante tried to move away, but it was not too fast as the spear pierced through his left thigh, a high-pitched shriek escaping his throat as the Holy Energy completely burned off his entire leg.
"You pure-blood Devils seem to have this idea in your head that even with you all being lazy, you can still lord over reincarnated Devils." Isaiah's voice sounded like that of two beings speaking at the same time as he stared down Diamante, who was trying to crawl away and released more smoke to try and hide inside only for the smoke to disappear as he created a scythe in his grasp that absorbed it all.
"You all seem to think that your family name will be enough to protect you from those that want to do you harm." He continued speaking as he unfurled his wings, which were now two monstrous leathery bat-wings that were nearly twice his size, both wings having a metallic tinge to them. With a soft flap, Isaiah was slowly floating in the air, Diamante just staring in shock as a pitch-black aura covered Isaiah.
"Well, here's a new flash. Those who are weak cannot deny those who are strong." Bladed weaponry of all shapes, sizes and colours appeared one after the other in a bright blue flash around Isaiah. From light blue rapiers to silver daggers to crimson greatswords to violet spears to black broadswords to green naginata to even light grey falchions.
The sky had turned into a sea of various colours, with Isaiah floating in the middle of it. His abyss-like form with his bat-wings and scythe made it look as if Death itself has come for Diamante and a wide smirk appeared on Isaiah's face as he raised his left hand. "
Think of all the strategies you want. Devise all the tactics you need. Plan all the ambushes you want." The blades were all floating aimlessly before they all spun and aimed downwards at Diamante, where smoke was billowing out of him to try and create a dense shield around him.
"But know one thing. All of that is meaningless in front of pure power." With a drop of his hand, all of the blades were covered in a bright white Holy Aura that made the arena tremble before they all rocketed downwards like missiles, piercing right through Diamante's shield as if it was nothing before they bombarded him one after the other.
Explosion after explosion ripped through the sky for what felt like minutes, the arena being bathed in scorching hot heat and destructive shock waves and floating right in the middle of it was a stoic Isaiah, now out of his form as he just stared at the bright white star below him before he slowly floated down.
As the explosions slowly began dying out, Isaiah awaited the result and with a wave of his hand, the dust cloud disappeared. In front of him was a crater, nearly 10 meters deep, and right in the middle of it was a severely burned Diamante, his arms and legs completely gone and his throat nearly burned away as he could only gasp.
With his wings still out, Isaiah slowly floated into the middle of the crater, Diamante unable to even scream or crawl away as Isaiah landed above him before raising his scythe above him.
"Realize in your death…a Lesser Devil was the one that ended the House of Fleurety."
"Isaiah, wait!" Sirzechs tried to stop him, but it was too late as he swung his scythe, Diamante's face stuck in a look of deep shock and horror as his head rolled away. Isaiah just stared at the corpse before he floated up into the air as it and the head was sliced and diced by a barrage of holy blades that spawned under it, the remains turning into nothingness in a flash before he sighed as the arena around them shattered.
As Isaiah arrived back in the arena, there was nothing but silence as everyone in the arena was shocked at what just happened, but Isaiah was not done.
"That was a warning to all who dares to think that I'm just a little Devil with no power to my name." He said loud and clear as he floated up into the air, staring at the pure-blood devils, who all paled slightly as he just kept staring at them before he continued.
"Mess with me or those who I love and I'll make sure that your family is eradicated entirely to the last person. Man, woman or child, it does not matter. The moment you anger Isaiah Azathoth is the moment you need to realize that your family name will just be a name in the history books and nothing more." And with that said, the Azathoth crest appeared under him before he disappeared.
A/N: And there we go! A quick reveal of Isaiah's 'True Form'.
It's not exactly his True Form as you can see by the chant and I'll explain why in the next chapter.
Anyway, I know I made Diamante this powerful guy but let's be real. He was not as strong as the guy that fought life-and-death battles Buddha and Wukong on a daily basis for an entire year.
Anyway, read, enjoy, review and I'll see you all in the next one.
Until then…
Ba-Bye~!
