Kuoh Academy Courtyard, Kuoh Academy:
Isaiah's POV:
'He's toying with us.' Isaiah thought with a frown as he clashed with Kokabiel in a flurry of blows, the Cadre smirking amusedly as he easily blocked the dual wielding strikes from the demonic prodigy.
He didn't even pay attention to Samson and Bardou who appeared on both sides of him, easily parrying all three of their attacks while keeping his eyes on Isaiah.
Samson and Bardou gasped as the Cadre spun on his heel and parried Isaiah's attack past him, grabbing the Rook and Knight by their outstretched arms before they were swung into each other with a tremendous force.
The three devils weren't given a chance to get their bearings as Kokabiel lashed out with a roundhouse, sending all three flying in different directions before the Cadre knelt and leapt after Isaiah.
"Oh?" Kokabiel muttered with an amused smirk as his legs were frozen in place, looking down to see them covered in an orange aura before he crossed his arms in front of him to block a crimson gauntlet and a fist covered in black flames.
"Nice, nice. The Red Dragon Emperor and the newfound Prison Dragon King. Your power is not bad." Kokabiel said with a smirk as he blocked their attacks, the two Pawns grinning back as they leapt back just in time for a bombardment of lightning to crash into his position.
Akeno didn't let up as she repeatedly fired lightning bolt after lightning bolt, only stopping when she couldn't make out anything inside of the large crater she created.
"Such a young age and yet so much power. Your father would be proud." Her eyes widened as she heard the soft voice next to her, turning her head to see Kokabiel smiling back at her.
"But, dearest niece, let me show you what true power is." He declared as a bright light spear appeared in his grasp and he swung it towards her, a chuckling reverberating in his throat as Tsubaki appeared in front of it and barely blocked the blow with Gáe Bulg.
"Gáe Bulg. So I see the rumours of Isaiah killing Chulainn have some truth to them, huh? And it isn't turning you insane. My, my, what incredible mental fortitude you must have." Tsubaki didn't listen to him as she gritted her teeth, Kokabiel chuckling as he jumped back before a barrage of water pheasants stabbed through the air where he previously was
. Looking down, he just looked amused at the sight of dozens of creatures made out of water flying up towards him, a flurry of his wings sending air blades down that easily cleaved through them all before flying down to where Sona, Rias and Asia were standing.
Thankfully, the air blades did not make it far as a barrier appeared above the trio, all three giving a relieved sigh as Valerie, Koneko and Gasper landed next to them.
"Your peerage went to help with the barrier around Kuoh, Lady Sona." Valerie said and Sona smiled as she nodded.
"That's good. They wouldn't be able to keep up here anyway." Sona muttered to herself as she looked up, only barely keeping track of Samson, Bardou, Isaiah, Issei, Saji and Tsubaki all attacking Kokabiel one after the other with no rest, Akeno and Kuroka not too far behind as they fired off spell after spell to try and distract him.
"Excellent! Excellent! What wondrous attacks you have! I could not truly ask for anything better!" Kokabiel exclaimed with a cheerful smile as he blocked Issei's punch, throwing him in the path of Saji who pulled his fist back before both he and Issei gasped as Kokabiel appeared behind them and smashed them both down to the ground.
Bardou appeared behind him, but the Cadre chuckled as he disappeared and reappeared next to the hellhound, grabbing him by the skull before smashing him headfirst into the chest of Samson who tried to sneak attack him from behind.
Samson gasped as the force reverberated throughout his body, Kokabiel grinning as he grabbed Bardou by the leg and spun through the air, smashing him first into Samson before slamming both fighters back to the ground.
"Balance Break: Kōkō Gonryō Rikyū x Tensa Zangetsu." A pitch black rapier appeared in Isaiah's grasp, his form being coated in bright golden lightning that combined with the bright blue of Storm God.
[WELSH DRAGON BALANCE BREAKER: SCALE MAIL!] The Boosted Gear roared as an emerald aura flew out of one of the craters and to the sky, revealing Issei's form covered in the bright crimson armour of the Boosted Gear's Scale Mail.
"Balance Break: Soulful Deathmatch." Saji's voice was calm yet malicious as purple chains shot out from the crater he was in before connecting to the chest of everyone inside the barrier, Kokabiel tugging at it and frowning as he couldn't even budge it.
He then looked down to a loud, bestial howl echoing from the craters Samson and Bardou were in, unable to even process the information as both devils appeared back in front of him in the blink of an eye.
"Twin berserkers? Not bad." Kokabiel grinned as he stared at the bright crimson auras coating both devils, taking note of the fact that the crimson aura was actually flowing from the chain of Samson and towards the chain of Bardou.
As he blocked their double punch, an ecstatic grin appeared on his face as the fists flew past his arms and into his chest, cackling gleefully as he was sent crashing back first into the ground.
Kokabiel quickly flipped to his feet as Isaiah appeared next to him, the rapier in his grasp a blur as the King continuously tried to impale him on the blade, Kokabiel's cackling not stopping as he easily maneuvered and parried Isaiah's attacks before he frowned as he felt himself getting weaker.
He was not given time to ponder this as Tsubaki appeared besides Isaiah, tossing Gáe Bulg at him while Isaiah tossed his rapier at her. They both caught the other's weapon before disappearing, Kokabiel's eyes widening as the couple duo worked in complete sync with each other.
Bright divine light covered his arms and hands as they blurred through the air, parrying and blocking the attacks of Gáe Bulg while making sure to keep up with the hit-and-run attacks of Tsubaki, who was bolting it and out of the fight while Isaiah tried all he can to keep the Cadre's attention on him.
Kokabiel tried to jump away, but Bardou was waiting for that opportunity as he appeared behind him, Isaiah and Tsubaki jumping and Kokabiel's eyes widening as the hellhound opened his maw and released a gargantuan sea of bright blue flames onto the Cadre, obscuring him from view.
The flames didn't last long as twelve wings coated in large amounts of holy energy flared out, snuffing out the flames and sending out large air blades infused with holy energy. Isaiah disappeared and reappeared in front of Bardou, his arms a blur as he swung the demonic blades in his grasb and sealed away the holy wind.
Bardou just nodded at his master before moving around him, Kokabiel frowning as he noticed that all of them were now slowly going faster, almost as if…
'There's something about this chain that's making them faster. Does it steal my energy to make me weaker or does it reinforce them?' He wasn't given more time to think about it as Tsubaki appeared next to him, Gáe Bulg in one hand and the fused rapier in the other as she attacked him.
The Cadre frowned as he created dual light blades in his hands and blocked her attacks, Tsubaki not stopping as she spun Gáe Bulg around her body and tried to sweep his legs out from under him while stabbing relentlessly at him with the rapier.
Keeping up with her attacks, he felt his frustration growing more and more as he could now noticeably feel his body moving slower than it should, getting cuts and scrapes from the duel with the Queen when he knew he should easily be able to dodge and/ or parry her blows with both arms tied behind his back.
An overextending stab from Tsubaki was all he needed to destroy the rapier in her grasp, Gáe Bulg being the only thing that protected her from being bifurcated as she barely blocked the double slash from Kokabiel.
'Great. Now where is that Prison Dragon?' Kokabiel gritted his teeth as he looked around, dodging Akeno's lightning bolts, Valerie's spells and Sona's water beasts as he tried and failed to find Saji.
"Hey, Kokabiel! You're looking the wrong way!" Samson exclaimed as he flew towards him, Bardou right next to him and the Cadre scoffed as he blocked their attacks with more effort than needed, feeling his muscles weakening as he was sent skidding across the ground.
Digging his feet into the ground under him, he pushed the berserker duo off him before both gasped as a hard jab smashed into both of their chests, the light energy not helping before it erupted and sent them ragdolling through the air.
Valerie was quick to catch the duo with a wind funnel, redirecting them back to safety on the ground before her eyes widened at the sight of Kokabiel appearing in front of her and Rias.
"I won't let you finish that again." Kokabiel said with a frown to Rias as he felt the demonic energy radiating from the blade in her grasp and while it was weaker than the one used before, he also knew that it was still enough to take him out as weak as he was now.
"Then you're too late." Rias declared with a tired grin before Kokabiel's eyes widened as they disappeared, revealing Kuroka in front of him with a large purple Rasengan held between the two of them.
"Rasengan." Kuroka chanted with a sadistic smile before Valerie teleported away, Kokabiel barely able to create a light shield in front of him that was easily ripped to shreds as the Rasengan expanded to five times its previous size.
It was only thanks to wrapping his wings around his body and coating them in nearly all the energy he had left that he was not grounded to a paste, but that did not mean his wings were spared as he only had two on his back and both were nothing but mangled pieces of flesh and feathers.
"Balance Break: Hermit Purple. Balance Break: Embrace of the Weeping Prison." Kokabiel's eyes widened as purple thorny vines sprouted from the chains and pinned his limbs to his body, the shadows around him reinforcing the vines and making them even stronger.
[BOOST] [BOOST] [BOOST] [BOOST] [BOOST] [BOOST] [BOOST] [TRANSFER!] His head snapped up at that call as he looked towards the roof of the barrier dome, unable to do anything as the purple vines stretched up to the sky and empowered Isaiah along with the boosts from Issei as the devil grinned down at the Cadre.
"Rest in piece, Fallen Angel of the Stars." Isaiah muttered as he felt all of the power being transferred to the demonic sword of destruction in his grasp, disappearing and reappearing in front of the Cadre as Saji tightened his shadows and vines.
"Well done, Father's Chosen." Kokabiel muttered with a defeated smirk as he closed his eyes, not having a single more thought after those words as his body was completely disintegrated, Valerie appearing next to Isaiah and teleporting him away just in time as a monstrous dome of lightning, wind and destruction energy destroyed everything in its range.
"Never again! Am I! Being Barrier Control!" Meredith gritted out as her nose began to bleed, feeling a severe migraine sinking in as she used all she could to keep the barrier from disappearing and destroying the entirety of Kuoh Town.
The explosion lasted a few seconds before it slowly died out, the dust settling to reveal a gigantic crater that filled the entire barrier floor with everything inside of it completely eradicated.
"I swear you all have a pendant for needless destruction." Sona muttered with a groan as everyone was safely outside of the barrier, Isaiah just chuckling from where he laid on the lap of Akeno while Kuroka slowly healed both him and Tsubaki who was fast asleep on top of him.
Not too far away, a light green dome covered the forms of Issei, Saji, Samson and Bardou, Asia focusing intensely with Valerie giving her energy as she healed their wounds.
"Hey, I take my protection job very seriously." Isaiah muttered as he slowly felt exhaustion sinking in, Rias rolling her eyes from where she was sitting next to Sona as the Sitri heiress just smiled amusedly.
'I wonder why he didn't disclose the information about God being dead like he did in the canon storyline, but then again, we were not giving him a chance to even speak, so I guess it's quite all right.'
"So…does this mean no school until repairs are done?" Gasper asked with an eager smile, Koneko having her own excited yet restrained smile as Rias, Akeno and Kuroka giggled while Valerie and Sona just shook their heads.
"That's my pupil." Isaiah muttered with a thumbs-up, Gasper's giggling being the last thing he heard before the exhaustion became too much and he fell asleep.
The Next Day: Azathoth Manor:
Isaiah's POV:
"To be truthful, I didn't expect you all to survive the battle against Kokabiel, especially if him being a 12-winged angel is the truth." Sirzechs said with a smirk as he sat down in the sofa opposite of Rias, Sona and I, with all three of us just rolling our eyes.
"Then again, you look as if you fought death itself, so I guess I should believe you." He said while looking at the bandages wrapped around my entire body, to which I just groaned as Rias and Sona giggled.
"Believe me, most of this was my own doing. That's what I get for touching destruction energy without the energy precaution." Sirzechs just chuckled at my words as Rias snorted.
"Well, at least everyone made it out alive of the battle." Sona muttered and he smiled as he nodded before turning to Grayfia.
"Please inform Lord & Lady Sitri as well as Mother, Father & Serafall that there's no need to amass the armies of House Gremory and House Sitri for a genocide."
"…They actually got armies together?" I asked with an amused smile, Sona and Rias just hiding their faces as Grayfia sighed and Sirzechs chuckled.
"More like Serafall gathered armies together to come and fetch you all."
"Ah, yeah, that would make sense." I said with a nod, Grayfia giving a bow before disappearing in a crimson crest, Sirzechs groaning as he stood up.
"And here I was hoping to actually come to the rescue of my lovely little sister. I suppose that can wait for another time."
"I have Isa here. You, Mother and Father don't need to worry that much." Rias muttered with a pout and Sirzechs chuckled as he nodded, patting her on the head before smiling at me.
"Thank you once again for protecting her as well as everyone."
"No need for the thanks and besides, it was a team effort, ain't that right guys?" I only got grumbles and groans from our three peerages, who were all relaxing and healing their wounds off to the side in the living hall and Sirzechs chuckled as he nodded.
"Then thank you all. Now, a Satan's work is never done, so I must bid you all adieu." We all bowed our heads and Sirzechs smiled before teleporting away in his crest, making me sigh as I leaned back in the sofa.
"While I thank you for healing our wounds, Azathoth fiend, we must be heading back to the Vatican." I chuckled as I heard Xenovia speak, looking over to see her and a smiling Irina already dressed in their white cloaks, though Xenovia had an extra bag on her pack that held the shattered fragments of the Excalibur pieces along with the sealed Excalibur Destruction tied around her back.
"You sure I can't tempt you to stay in Kuoh?"
"Hey, you have three girlfriends!" Kuroka exclaimed from the side, Akeno and Tsubaki nodding with her.
"I meant as a peerage member for Rias! Believe me, you three are more than enough for me!" I exclaimed back, the black-haired trio huffing as they nodded before going back to whispering about something while I ignored Rias' giggling and Sona's amused smile.
"A maiden's heart cannot be swayed by the words of a fiend."
"That one's heart seems to be swaying plenty." Xenovia frowned in confusion before glancing at Irina, sighing as she saw the brunette giggling with a blush and waving at Issei, who grinned as he waved back before glaring at a chuckling Saji, Bardou & Samson.
"She is also a buffoon, so she does not count."
"Xenovia!" Irina exclaimed with a glare and a pout, Xenovia just rolling her eyes before looking back at me as I stood up.
"Then, I guess this is goodbye. Hope you don't get torn apart by a hellhound, virgin bitch." I said with a grin as I held a hand out, Xenovia giving a slight smirk as she gripped my hand firmly and shook it.
"And I hope you don't die before I get to kill you, pathetic fiend." She countered with a grin, making me chuckle before she nodded at the others and walked out.
"Bye, everyone~! It was nice seeing you all!" Irina waved with a grin, making me chuckle as I waved back.
"The boss and blue-head were definitely flirting, right?" I heard Issei say out loud, shaking my head as everyone in the room agreed with him.
"You know what? I'm going to bed. Issei, you just earned everyone extra training." I grumbled as I walked up to my room, smirking victoriously as Samson, Bardou, Valerie, Meredith, Saji and Kuroka glared at the paling Pawn while everyone just looked confused.
I always have the last word.
A/N: This chapter was going to be a bit shorter, but I was in my element writing this and I decided to just go with the flow and write the story in a way to bind it all together.
