Though, as I did, my deck lit up and with a bright light that consumed me, and suddenly, I was no longer in my little Brother's bedroom.

But standing on a ruined street in the middle of the night.

And I could hear a voice speaking. "I am going need you to come with me; the professor has need of you."

Did Ray summon me to stop Yuri?

"Pendulum Scales?"

"I will set Odd-Eyes Persona Dragon and Odd-Eyes Mirage Dragon as Scale 1 and 8; this allows me to Pendulum Summon Monsters between with levels between those scales," Yuza explained. as the two dragons appeared in pillars of light, though they were clearly not on the monster field.

No, they were in entirely separate zones.

"What a powerful method of Summoning. Is that the secret of Standard?" Yuri asked Yuza, which just further confused the girl. Standard? Was that another Dimension? Was there more than Xyz and Fusion?

"It's a new fad, so now swing across the sky, the arc of my soul, I Pendulum Summon Odd-Eyes Phantom Dragon(2500)!" Yuza shouted and on the field appeared a dragon that had white bone-like armor across its body. "I end my turn."

"So it does allow you to Special Summon high-level monsters without Advance Summoning them," Yuri muttered, and Ruri kept looking between the two duelists as she still didn't know what to think.

God, she wished Yuto and Shun were here.

Her Brother would know what to do.

"I draw," Yuri declared. "First, I will Normal Summon Predaplant Ophrys Scorpio, and then this card is summoned, I can discard a monster and Special Summon a Predaplant monster from my deck, and I choose my Predaplant Darlingtonia Cobra," Yuri did what a clearly well-practiced combo. "And when my lovely plan is Special Summoned by the effect of a Predaplant monster, I can add a Polymerization card to my hand."

"Polymerization! That means…"

"Yes, I will use Polymerization to Fusion Summon the two monsters on my field! Two Beautiful flowers with an insect-alluring fragrance. Now become one; from a hell under your petals, Give birth to another terror! Fusion Summon! Appear, poisonous dragon with hungering fangs! Level 8! – Starving Venom Fusion Dragon!" Yuri declared as above him the magnificent form of the Heavenly Dragon of Fusion manifested, its mighty tail whipping about as it roared its presence known. "And we shall become one, one step closer to becoming… one." And Ruri watched with wide eyes as a dark aura surrounded Yuri.

"No Yuri, no Starving Venom, we will not become one ever again. That was a mistake, and one I will not repeat," Yuza said, his words confusing Ruri, but the words, for some reason hearing them, made Ruri really happy.

"Starving Venom Fusion Dragon's effect activates; he will gain attack equal to a monster that my opponent controls, and since you only control one, he will gain 2500 Attack Points!" Yuri shouted as the orbs on Starving Venom's body seemed to drain Yuza's dragon of power. "Now show him who the superior dragon is, attack! Ravenous Burst!" At that, a beam of purple and malicious energy was fired from the dragon that destroyed Yuza's Phantom Dragon.

"And with that, I end my turn," Yuri said.

"I draw," Yuza said. "Now let me show you the true power of Pendulum Summoning, as when a Pendulum Monster, like Odd-Eyes Phantom Dragon, is destroyed, they don't go to the graveyard; instead, they go to the top of the Extra Deck face-up, and from there, the Pendulum swings again, return, Odd-Eyes Phantom Dragon!"

"That is…" Yuri said, and while Ruri couldn't see his face from her current position, she could tell that concerned him.

"Next, I am going to release Odd-Eyes Phantom Dragon to Advance Summon Odd-Eyes Advance Dragon(3000)!" Yuza said as the dragon cracked, and from the shell emerged a crimson-scaled dragon that was even larger in size. "And then he is Advanced Summoned. I can destroy one of your monsters, and you take damage equal to its original attack! Advanced Flame Strike!"

"No Starving Venom!" Yuri shouted as the dragon was destroyed. "Well, you just triggered Starving Venom Fusion Dragon's other effect; if he is destroyed, all Special Summoned Monsters are destroyed!"

"Sorry, Yuri, that is not going to work. Remember I released Odd-Eyes Phantom Dragon to Advance Summon, not Special Summon."

"But you only used one monster! Your Advanced Dragon is Level 8; that should have required two!"

"Yeah, but Odd-Eyes Advanced Dragon's innate effect allows it to be Advanced Summon with only one monster if that monster is Level 5 or higher," Yuza explained, and Ruri realized that Yuza had planned for this.

"Then that means…" Yuri began, and Yuza finished the sentence.

"Starving Venom's effect fizzles."

At that, the dragon exploded, but it left Yuza utterly unscathed, with Yuri taking the brunt of the explosion as he was knocked to the ground.

And as he laid there for but a second, Ruri watched as the darkness the surrounded Yuri flow off his body a little and into the stretched-out palm of Yuza and crushed it. "Not all of it, but it will be enough for this; let me show you my fusion. I activate the Spell Card – Pendulum Fusion, and since there are two cards in my Pendulum Zone, I can also use them, so I will fuse together Odd-Eyes Mirage Dragon and Odd-Eyes Persona Dragon. Dragons with dual-colored eyes come together to form a beast of hunger! Fusion Summon! Appear dragon of venom! Level 7! Starving Venemy Dragon(2500)!"

And Ruri watched as another dragon appeared on the field, which bore a great resemblance to the Starving Venom Fusion Dragon that Yuri had, but instead of the serpentine lower body, it was a mass of tentacles making it look like a tree rising out of the ground.

"What is…?" Yuri asked in shock as he stood up.

"A re-imagined Starving Venom Fusion Dragon," Yuza answered. "Now, this is the end, Battle Phase. Odd-Eyes Advance Dragon, Starving Venemy Dragon, attack Yuri directly."

The dragons roared as they fired beams of energy at the boy who had been about to kidnap her, and with the might of the Real Solid Vision, he was knocked out.

Yuri LP: 0

Well, Ruri thought he was knocked out.

"Are you okay, Ruri?" She heard Yuza speak as he walked over to Ruri and her.

"Yeah, I am fine… wait, how do you know who I am?" She asked, as she had not mentioned her name at all during all of this insanity.

"Well, that is a bit of a weird story," Yuza said; he slung the unconscious Yuri over his shoulder after packing away his Duel Disk.

"Well, I don't think you have anywhere to be, so you can tell me," Ruri said.

"Well, that is actually not true; I am probably going to go in a few seconds," Yuza said.

"And why are you saying that?" She asked, and as she did, a sudden bright light shun from Yuza's Duel Disk that consumed the both of them.

"Well fuck." Dennis Macfield simply said as he saw the silver-haired guy who had just beaten Yuri in a duel with cards he had never seen before vanish with both Yuri and Ruri. "The Professor is not going to like this."

And a second later, it died down.

"What was that about?" Ruri asked as she looked at Yuza, now really wanting answers to what was going on.

"Why are you here?" Yuza asked.

"What do I mean I am here? I never left? I should ask you why you are here, and what that Pendulum Summoning is, where did you even come from? And why do you look like Yuto? Why does Yuri look like you and Yuto? And why did you call him Little Brother?" Her questions were rapid fire as the silver and green-haired boy pinched his nose.

"Ruri, take a look around," Yuza said, which just made her confused.

"Huh?" She asked as she looked around and…

This wasn't the place they had been a moment ago.

She was no longer in a ruined Heartland but now standing in what looked to be an idyllic neighborhood that saw no scars of battle.

"Wha? What? Where am I?" Ruri asked as she returned her gaze to Yuza.

"Welcome, Ruri, to the Standard Dimension," Yuza responded. "And that… is my home."

"Oh…" Ruri said.

"Yeah, I have no idea why you came with me, as I wasn't touching you at all, unlike Yuri here," Yuza said, shaking the still knocked-out boy in royal purple. "So do you wanna head inside, 'cause you have literally nowhere to go."

"I… yeah," Ruri admitted.

"Well, Mom is going to love both of you," Yuza said as they headed into the house.

And they were immediately greeted by an adult woman dressed in a nightgown, her blond hair flowing down her back.

"Yuza, there you are, you suddenly vanished from the house and… Yuzu, no, you are not Yuzu and Yuza, who are you carrying on your shoulder?" The woman, who was presumably Yuza's Mother, asked.

"Well, I have a lot of things to explain," Yuza explained as he laid Yuri down on the couch.

"…Why does he have the same face as you and Yuya?" She asked. "Yusho, did you sleep with more women?"

"No, Mom, he hasn't… I don't think he has, and the answer as to why, well…" Yuza paused, and Ruri listened intently. "Well, once upon a time, me, Yuyu, Yuri here, and two others all used to be one person, same with Yuzu and Ruri here, but then the universe got split into four dimensions, and I got split into five," Yuza explained.

"What." Both Ruri and Yuza's mom said.
