Once we got back to the camp I could smelled the most amazing smell. The rest of the fellowship was scattered around the cave. The hobbit's were in the middle of the cave cooking . Boromire is sitting in the farthest corner of the cave sharping his swords. Gimli is shining his helmet while telling the hobbits a story. Gandalf is sitting on rock just outside of cave smoking his pipe. The only one who missing was Legolas.
" Where's Legolas? " I question out loud.
" He left to scout the area just after you left" Gandalf says taking his pipe from his mouth.
" He'll be back in a few hours" Aragorn says pulling out his pipe.
I nod my head and go sit down beside Frodo and the rest of the hobbits " Hello fellas what are you cooking" I ask them.
" smoked pork with potatoes " Sam replies while stiring the food.
" Well it smells amazing " I say smelling the air.
" We'll be eating soon Crimson" Sam Laughs.
I look at Frodo to see that he was staring into space " Frodo are you ok?" I ask grabbing his shoulders.
Frodo jerks away from my touch and looks at me " sorry crimson is there anything I can do for you?" Frodo ask me.
" I'm just asking if you are ok , it must not be easy to carry that ring around your neck Frodo" I reply to Frodo.
" It makes me feel heavy, I think I need some air" Frodo says leaving the group walking out of the cave.
I feel bad that I pressured him into telling me how he was feeling.
" Don't worry dear Crimson Frodo is carrying more on his shoulders , then he should have too" I hear Athenas voice in my head.
" Yeah I know though I wish I could help him more" I reply.
" I know so do I " Athena says in soft voice.
We just finished having dinner that the hobbits made. Sam was a great cook the food was so delishes. I look outside the cave and the sky dark is enough for me to call Athena to our location. I get up from my spot with the hobbits, walking to cave entrance where Gandalf and Aragorn were talking to Legolas.
" What did you see Legolas ? " I hear Aragorn question Legolas.
" I saw orcs setting up camp 6 miles from us" Legolas replys to Aragorn.
A look of uneasy comes a cross Gandalf face " A little too close for comfort" he mutters softly.
" Yes I Agree we'll have to leave in the morning dark to stay ahead of them " Aragorn says matter factly.
My presence gets noticed by Legolas , he nods his head towards my direction. Aragorn and Gandalf turns towards me , giving their full attention which makes me a little nervous. I stay quiet for a few seconds more trying to find my voice.
" How can we help you Crimson? " Gandalf ask me.
I gulp the knot in my throat from the sudden attention down " I was wondering since its dark now, would it be safe enough to call Athena to us?" I ask with hesitation in my voice.
Gandalf gives a nod of his head " Yes you can call Athena to us. I'm sure she needs a rest from all the flying ".
I smile and head outside of the cave looking at the star sky. " Athena you can come to camp now" I speak through our mind link.
" Finally my wings are aching " Athena complains.
I roll my eyes at her childish complaint. Soon I could make out Athena's figure in the starry night sky. I step back into cave to give Athena some landing room. Which I'm glad that I did because Athena's landing was a little rough. Athena skidded to a halt with her claws leaving marks in the ground.
" Athena are you ok?" I question her as I walk up to her.
" Yes my dear Crimson I'm fine, There wasn't any place for me to rest long during the day , These hills are full of orcs hunting the fellowship" I hear Athena's reply in my head.
I give Athena's side a rub as a soothing gesture. Athen gives a little growl and I look behind me to see what she growling at . The of the fellowship was now standing near the cave entrance . They were looking at Athena with fearfull wonder in their eyes.
I turn towards them " Athena tells me that these hill full with orcs to where she couldn't rest " I tell everyone what Athena let me know.
" Then I suggest we get our rest because come morning dark we leave" Aragorn speaks to the group in a deep voice.
The last week has been the same thing, try to cover as land as we could. Only stopping to camp at night for a few short hours. Athena being our look oht during the day and coming to join us at night when it safe to. Today was a little different though mid day we stopped for a rest. Boromire was teaching the halflings Pippin and Merry how to sword fight. The the rest of the fellowship was resting amongst the rocks.
Gandalf and Gimli are having a conversation about if we sahould go through the mountain instead around it. Gimli wanted us to go through the halls of Moria to see his people. Where gandalf wanted to aviod Moria at all cost. I was exploring the hills when Aragorn and Legolas walked up to me .
" Crimson , we believe its time for you to try to fly with Athena again" Aragorn says.
Suddenly Athena pops up from down below the hills " I agree" I hear Athena speak into our mind link.
" I didn't so good last time" I say swallowing my spite.
" We didn't do so good " Athena says softly in my head.
Suddenly I feel myself being picked up and push into Athena's saddle. I lookes down to see Aragorn smiling up at me . I look at the steep cliffs down below, I feel my nerves picking up. Though soon my nerves were not my biggest problem, as Athena flew up into the air with me on her back. I hear Aragorn and Legolas start laugh at my sheriks of fright.
Though it didn't take long for me to get use to the sensation of flying. I loved the feeling of the cool air going over my body . The view of valley and hills was incredible from up here. Suddenly my vison changed and I could see things more closer and clearer .
" This so cool! You see like this all the time ?" I ask Athena.
" Thats nothing " I hear Athena chuckle.
soon I see miles away like it was infront of my face. Though I see a flock birds heading our way.
" Athena what types of birds are those?" I ask Athena.
" Seramon Scouts" Athena says with a growl.
