Meeting #2: Necessary Action
The collective gathering of Pokemon were silent for several seconds. Almost none of them wanted to break it after the report they heard.
Finally, the chairman spoke up. "And you're certain of this, Beck?"
"Absolutely," the navy-cloaked mon said.
The chairman would then put a paw to his chin. "Hmm, I see. So the mayor has him registered for the tournament. That would explain the entourage the Guardian Unit provided."
Rosy meanwhile, as the only Grass-Type in the room, hissed up a storm. "Strung him like her little play thing. If only we can just-"
"Enough." Biff said, putting a hand in front of Rosy.
"Keep your sweat-covered paws away from me mutt."
"Please calm yourself. You mix up words and species when angry." the maroon-cloaked mon bluntly said.
Rosy scoffed and leaned back in her chair. "So we got our little problem mon in the way. We'll just beat him down and be on our way."
"I'm afraid it's not that simple," Beck chimed. "We all saw Lugia's strength at least once or twice. Any legendary will be tough to deal with, and little Zeraora the Fourth is no exception. A straight fight will be difficult no matter who fights him."
The chairman would nod from his dark spot in the room. "Indeed, but are you saying that you and Biff aren't enough?"
Beck turned his attention back to the chairman. "Huh? What makes you ask that?"
"He's only a boy as Biff implied yesterday, no?" the leader noted.
"...Yes." Biff confirmed.
"Then the answer is simple," the chairman said before pointing toward Brick. "You and your boys got a good look at the legend, correct?"
The Obstagoon nodded. "Yeah, but we couldn't close enough due to the security."
Suddenly, a smile seemingly shone from the darkness. "No worries. Why don't you make a few…arrangements with your clan? Guarantee a victory somewhere, just make sure not to make too much noise, you hear?"
"Loud and clear."
Biff stood up suddenly. "That is unnecessary," he said.
The chairman tapped his cane and stood up as well. "I'd watch that tone if I were you. Surely you remember what we stand for, yes? No matter how familiar you are with the enemy, we cannot risk everything we've worked for.
"Dismissed."
- o - o -
And with that, Biff walked out the room in a huff, slamming the doors open on the way out.
"Heh, what a softie. Never thought I'd see that from him." Rosy said.
Beck shook his head and sighed. "I'll talk to him later." He then followed after his fellow mon.
Rosy shrugged and took her leave as well. "Well then, if you excuse me."
Only Brick and the chairman remained in the room.
Before the Obstagoon could depart, the chairman spoke up.
"Brick, tell me. You still have some fighters in your rank and file, correct?"
"...Indeed. Why do you ask?"
"...Perfect," the chairman started staring at the wall again, seemingly pleased. "Then we have more than enough to manage. Don't disappoint me. Too much is riding on this. So, ensure Zeraora doesn't walk out of that district alive."
The Obstagoon grinned. "With pleasure…"

Author's Notes:
Special Thanks to TheSnapDragon for Beta Reading Day 2's Content.
With that, this marks the end of another arc! Whoo! This took a lot longer than expected, but hopefully, the wait was worth it. A shorter part this time around, but Day 2 had some moments I was looking forward to writing. As for what's next? Well, you can guess that things are only gonna reach grander heights from here. New locations, new battles, and deeper dive into the unfolding mysteries surrounding the metropolis. I look forward to sharing it, but for now, thank you for your patience, time, and for reading this far.
