DM77's Ace Attorney Justice for All Chapter 19
Clowning in Court
December 29, 12:06 PM, District Court, Courtroom No.2
Everyone had returned when the recess was done and took their rightful spots again to continue the trial for the day.
Maccadam bangs his gavel to quiet everyone and said "Now that everyone is back, let's get started. The court is now back in session." He looks to Courtney "Miss. Wittebane, please proceed with the prosecution's case."
"Very well…I will now call my next witness." Courtney said nodding. "A pitiful clown with the unfortunate distinction of having seen the entire thing. Will Mr. Hershel Krustofsky please take the stand!"
'Why did she just call him a 'pitiful'clown?' J thinks sweatdropping.
Indeed the one to take the stand was Krusty who was looking down sad.
"The witness will state his name and occupation for the court record." Courtney said but Krusty remains silent for a good while, then she whips Krusty making him recite some history of clowning upon being whipped. She then said "…Name and occupation."
"Will the witness please inform the court why he is speaking autobiographical gibberish?" Maccadam asked confused.
"O-Oh…I-I'm sorry…" Krusty said sadly. "I'm just not used to being in court. I've never been in a courtroom in my life. I wasn't quite sure what joke is best suited to this sort of occasion."
"What in the world are you talking about?!" Maccadam asked surprised and looks serious "You're in a grand hall of justice, not some comedy club! Since it's easy to see your occupation, please state your name for the court."
"…Oh…Yeah…Maybe this joke is okay…" Krusty said smiling "'Mom, do I have to wear pants? The sign only says no shirt, no shoes, no service.' Hoohoohoohahaha!" He laughed but everyone else in the court did not. "Okay! Okay! How about this? 'Have you met my proctologist? Dr. Seymour Butts!' How was that one?! Hoohoohoohahaha!" He was then whipped and recited more gibberish.
"Your name…" Courtney said with a glare.
"Hershel Krustofsky. Professional funnyman, also known as Krusty the clown which I prefer you call me." Krusty said looking down.
"You witnessed the scene at around 10:15 PM the day of the murder. Correct?" Courtney said to him.
"Yes…Yes, it is." Krusty said.
"Very well, Mr. Krusty. Will you please testify to what you saw that evening?" Maccadam asked him.
"A rabbi, a priest and a Rastafarian walked into a plaza…" Krusty said beginning another joke until Maccadam cut him off.
"Without the humour please." Maccadam told him.
"Okay…" Krusty said looking down.
"Awwww…Poor Krusty can't be his normal stooge self in court." Jaden said.
Krusty begins his testimony on 'what he witnessed' but instead he said "I know…I know…I'm not the greated comedian in the world…I haven't been able to make people laugh for 10 years! No matter what I say, all I get in return is a vacant stare and polite applause. Since no one ever laughs at my jokes, I've taken to laughing at them myself. It's a bad habit, but hey, at least I'm trying! Imagine my predicament! I'm a clown who can't make people laugh! I'm almost useless! But I keep trying…I even tried to come up with jokes just for today! But this atmosphere is very nerve-racking! I decided to try making everyone laugh! Seriously…Everyone…What do you think of me? How am I doing?"
When he was done everyone was silent. J sweatdropping asked "Umm…Aren't we the ones supposed ot be asking the questions here?"
"Witness…" Courtney said holding her whip.
"Huh?" Krusty looks at her.
"We will listen to your call for help after the court proceedings are over." Courtney tells him "Thus, please stick to the facts of this case."
"Really?! You'll really hear me out?!" Krusty asked her.
"Well, I'll make sure that one of my staff will be your straight man later." Courtney said petting her Camerupt and smiling.
"Thank you! Thank you! I can't wait!" Krusty said smiling.
'Poor N…' J thinks knowing who that staffer will be.
Maccadam bangs his gavel and said "Now that that's settled, shall we begin once again with the testimony?!"
"Of course we can! I'll talk for as long as you want!" Krusty said with a chuckle and began to for real testify 'What He Witnessed' saying "The night of the murder, after practice was over, I went straight back to my room. You have no idea how tired I was that night. I was pooped. I thought I'd go straight to sleep, but before I did, I glanced out the window. That's when I saw two silhouettes! They were a bit far away though! It was the Ringmaster, and he was with Trixie, who was wearing her cloak! I kept watching them, and all of a sudden, Trixie clonked the Ringmaster over the head!"
"That's very interesting…" Maccadam said surprised. "If this eyewitness account is to be believe, I have enough to pass judgement right now…"
Courtney smiles and bows and said "Of course you can! There is no way that this account can be criticized."
"However…The witness is a bit, how do you say, 'off-kilter'…" Maccadam points out. "Almost like he has some sort of atmosphere of guilt surrounding him."
"Hoohoohooha! That must be because of my insincere smile…" Krusty said to that.
Maccadam sighs "Miss. J, please begin the defence's cross-examination."
"Yes, Your Honor." J said sweatdropping.
"J! You've got to find some kind of contradiction in his testimony!" Jaden tells her.
"I know that!" J told him.
"Miss. J." Maccadam said looking at the drone.
"Your Honor?" J said.
"I'm afraid if you push the witness too far, it would bring disaster upon the court. Thus, I sincerely hope you are not going to engage in pointless saber-rattling." Maccadam told her.
"I understand, Your Honor." J said sweating, that means she can't just press random testimony parts that don't provide any useful details or be punished for it.
"If you cause this clown to stray from the facts, I'll hold you responsible!" Courtney said smiling petting her Camerupt.
'Why am I responsible? I'm not the one with the corny jokes.' J thinks sweating. She starts pressing the third statement about Krusty about to go to sleep but glancing out the window saying "Hold it! You just happened to glance out of the window?"
Krusty chuckles and said grinning "You could say that. You could also say I peeked, stared, glimped, peeped, eyeballed…"
"Mr. Krustofsky!" Maccadam yells out annoyed.
"Oh…I guess synonyms aren't allowed either…" Krusty said looking down.
J thinks and decides to keep pressing saying "Exactly, why did you look out of your window that night?"
"Why?! Why?!" Krusty said looking serious "Clowns down't need a reason to look out their windows, do they?!"
J shakes her head and said "That's not what I meant. I meant that…Well…When we spoke yesterday…"
She remembers what Krusty told them yester day which was "Once I had tucked myself into bed, I heard this amazing noise. It was incredibly loud. It was incredibly loud. It sounded like a giant 'THUMP'!"
After saying that Krusty remained silent then laughs out loud and said "Oh yeah! I forgot about that!"
"You…forgot?!" Courtney said surprised.
J slams her hands down and said "Your Honor, the witness looked out his window upon hearing a loud sound. He did not just simply 'glance' out of his window that night.
"Oh yeah! That's right! I forgot to mention that 'THUMP', didn't I?" Krusty said. He is then whipped "Owww, owww, ow…"
"That's not something you just 'forget to mention'!" Courtney told him annoyed.
"Umm…Yeah…What she said…" J said sweatdropping rubbing her head agreeing with the prosecutor. She then said to the court "I believe it would be best if Krusty were to revise his testimony."
"Hmm…" Maccadam thinks and nods "Very well. Mr. Krustofsky. Please revise your testimony."
'This should start turning the tables in our favor!' J thinks.
Krusty then revises his testimony replacing the thirst one with "I heard a huge noise outside the window, and that's what made me take a look outside…"
J presses the fourth statement about seeing two figures saying "Hold it! Far away you say….If you had to say exactly, how far away were they?"
"Let me think about that for a second…" Krusty said thinking and looks at the map "If my room is here…" He points to it then to where the figures were "And they looked about yay-big…I'd say they were about 30 feet from my window."
"Just 30 feet? That's not far at all!" Corutney said with a smile.
"It was snowing that night, and it cut down on visibility." Krusty points out.
"I see." Maccadam said nodding to that.
J then presses the final statement about Trixie clonking Harvey on the head saying "Hold it! You say you saw the Ringmaster get 'clonked' over the head?!"
"Yes, I did! It's the climax of my story!" Krusty told her.
'He really does enjoy the completely ranon non sequitur…' J thinks and asked, "What would you say the victim was struck with?"
"You mean the weapon? I have no idea." Krusty said chuckling. "A weapon wasn't found at the murder scene, right?"
"That's not what I meant…You did say you did see 'everything', didn't you?" J said sweat dropping.
"Well…I, umm…Yeah, I suppose I did." Krusty said to that then laughs "Wait…No, I didn't. I didn't see a weapon…Heh, heh, heh!"
"Krusty!" J said slamming her hands down. "Did you or did you not see the crime of murder committed the night?!"
"Objection!" Courtney calls out and said "I will not permit you to harass my witness in this manner! You'd better have an excellent reason for attack this poor, poor clown. Because if you don't…you know what is wating for you…A nice penalty!"
'Isn't this a bit melodramatic…' J thinks gulping
"So, what will it be then, Miss. Serial Designation J?" Courtney asked smirking and whips her bench and asked "Do you have any clear basis to believe that my witness did not see the crime?"
J of course did and said "I got a great reason to make my claim!"
"And I suppose you will be telling us all that 'great' reason?" Courtney asked grinning.
"Of course I will…The reason is…" J began to say smiling then said "The witness's very own testimony!"
"What is the meaning of that Miss. J?" Maccadam asked surprised.
"Krusty said that he heard a sound like a 'thump' of someone getting hit." J said reading the testimony.
"Hmm…He did say that" Maccadam said nodding.
"However, Krustry just state the following under oath." J continues.
J recounts Krusty saying "I kept watching them, and all of a sudden, Trixie clonked the Ringmaster over the head!"
"If Krusty is to be believe when he says he looked out the window upon hearing a sound, there is no way that he could have seen Trixie 'clonk' anyone!" J tells the court. Krusty yelps reciting more autobiography stuff as the people in the court murmur.
Maccadam bangs his gavel to silence the murmuring and asked Krusty "Mr. Krustofsky! How do you respond to Miss. J's assessment?!"
Krusty dully say "…They didn't commit. These clowns promptly escaped from a maximum security clown car…"
"Mr. Krustofsky, are you reciting the C-Team theme to anger this court?" Maccadam asked annoyed.
"No, no, no…I'm just stalling for time while I job my memory..." Krusty said looking down.
"Great job, J!" Jaden said smiling.
"These types of witnesses always seem to have a selective memory…" J said with a smile. "You just have to peel back the layers of the clown make-up to find the truth."
"Well…Umm…" Krusty speaks up.
"Ahh, you're back from your jog?" Maccadam asked.
"Well…It pretty much happened the way I said." Krusty said smiling.
"'Pretty much'…?" J asked.
"When I looked out my window that night, the Ringmaster was already face down in the snow." Krusty said then looks down "The prosecution helped me fill in the gaps of my statement."
'Court.,…Coutney!' J thinks at that looking at her 'Tampering with witnesses again!' Courtney stays silent.
"So now you are saying you did not see the defendant 'clonk' the Ringmaster?" Maccadam asked.
"Y-Yes…" Krusty said looking down. "When I looked out my window, the Ringmaster had already checked out."
"Checked out?" Maccadam asked.
"Yes, he was on a permanent vacation now." Krusty joked and does his trademark laugh.
Maccadam bangs his gavel and said annoyed "Mr. Krustofsky!"
"Your Honor?" Krusty said looking down.
"You did not witness the actual crime; however, you still say you saw the criminal, correct?" Maccadam asked.
"Y-Y-YES! Exactly!" Krusty said. "The Ringmaster was slimped over and I saw someone's silhouette next to him."
"Very well. Then please testify to this silhouette you saw…I expect the truth!" Maccadam said. Then adds serious "And if I even catch a hint of a joke from you…I will put you in a holding cell until you learn court etiquette, got it?!"
Got it." Krusty said sighing. He then gives his testimony of 'The Silhouette' saying "It was a bit far away, but the shadow could only have belonged to Trixie. There's no doubting it. Especially since I saw her uppity symbols. Her silk had. That black cloak. They were all there! Her face was silhouetted, but there was no doubt that it was her. Her cloak was fluttering in the wind, so I couldn't really see what she was carrying."
"Hmm…It does seem as if the defendant was at the scene of the cime." Maccadam said thinking.
"It took the clown long enough to get his facts straight." Courtney said arms folded. "But whatever. This should finally be good enough, yes?"
Maccadam nods "It is decisive testimony…"
"Was Trixie really at the crime scene that night…?" Jaden asked thinking.
"She said she wasn't there. We have to believe in that." J told him.
"Alright, Miss. J. Commence your cross-examinaiton." Maccadam tells her
J already sees a contradiction and presents at the third statement where Krusty lists the symbols the proof and said "Objection! You say you saw all of Trixie's 'uppity' symbols?"
"I suppose so…The silk had and the cloak, right?" Krusty asked chuckling.
"Krusty…Everyone knows that the Great and Powerful Trixie Lulamoon has three uppity symbols!" J said to him with a smile.
"Three symbols?" Krusty said to that confused.
"Yay! Everyone get ready! All…Together…Now…" Jaden said to the court.
"SILK HAT! CLOAK! BLUE ROSES!" Everyone in court calls out.
"What the?" Krusty said in shock.
"Who cares if he knew that there were three or not!" Courtney said to that smiling "He saw what he saw. And he saw the symbols. He just forgot to mention one." Krusty looks down "Isn't that right, Krusty?" Krusty stays silent and is whipped making he recite the number for pi making her say "Silence fool! You are to respond with the whole truth! No fractions!"
Maccadam bangs his gavel and said "Order! Order!"
J slams her hands down on the bench and said "Krusty! You didn't see the roses, did you?"
"To be honest…There weren't any roses on the person I saw…" Krusty admits.
"Objection!" Courtney called out and said "The crime scene was dark! It's obvious it was too dark to see that kind of detail!"
"Objection!" J called out and responds saying "But with witness said he was able to see the silhouette of the criminal's face. Not to mention that the roses had a distinctive shape! There's no way he could have missed them!"
"Objection!" Courtney said and counters with "Then the roses must have fallen off when the defendant assaulted the victim!"
"If that was the case, then the police would have found them near the crime scene!" J said to that.
Maccadam bangs his gavel and asked "Miss J! Are these blue roses truly material to the facts of this case?"
"Cleary not! She is just toying with this court!" Courtney said concerned.
'I got her on the ropes now…These seeimingly insignificant facts have never failed to lead me to the truth yet!' J thinks and said "Someone is toying with the court, but it's not me!" She slams her hands down "Your Honor! Do you recall Pup-Mon's testimony?"
J then recounts Pup-Mon saying "There's no way I could mistake someone wearing those three ridiculous symbols!" and also "How can you mistake someone with that crazy get-up and her nose stuck up so high…" and finally "How could you mistake someone wearing such a snobby 3-piece get-up!"
"Pup-Mon saw them all!" J tells the entire court "Pup-Mon saw all three of Trixie's symbols! However, this witness claims there were no blue roses on the person he saw!" She slams her hands down "There is absolutely no doubt that this is a contradiction!"
The audience murmur at this and Maccadam bangs his gavel down to silence them and said "Hmm…Now what am I supposed to think? One is supposed to disregard the pointless, but this…"
"Judge! Forget the roses! Think about his other testimony!" Courtney calls out. "The witness has stated without a doubt that he saw Trixie Lulamoon! Nothing else matters! Let's wrap this case up now!"
"Your Honor! It may be trivial, but it does cast doubt on the prosecution's case." J countered to that.
Maccadam thinks silently for a moment and said "Frankly, I have my doubts about this witness. It seems that, unlike wine, the witness has not grown more mature with age."
"I'm not…mature…" Krusty said looking down.
Maccadam bangs his gavel and said "I've come to a conclusion…I'm 99% certain that this witness saw the defendant. However! My remaining one percent of doubt is quite reasonable! Which means that for my peace of mind, I'm going to request a bit more testimony."
"W-What?!" Courtney said shocked.
"If there are no contradictions in his next statement, I am prepared to issue a ruling." Maccadam states.
'A ruling…!' J thinks surprised.
"J! This is your last chance!" Jaden told her.
Krusty then begins his testimony of 'The Silhouette, Part 2' saying "There's no doubt in my mind! There were no blue roses that night! However, all of the other symbols were there…I'm equally sure of that. Especially the silk hat! There is no way I could forget seeing the decorations on it! She was wearing it the entire time that she was on the scene!"
"Miss. J…You've got one last chance at this." Maccadam tells her.
"Just once chance?" J asked.
"I will not allow even the slightest hint of badgering against this witness." Maccadam told her. "If you are going to prove to me that there's a contradiction with Mr. Krustofsky's statement, you'd better have a least a shred of evidence to back up your accusations."
'I've only got a single shot as this…I've got to be careful.' J thinks to herself and said "I understand, Your Honor. One chance is all I will need!" J knows where the contradiction and presents Silk Hat on the final statement saying "Objection! This wouldn't happen to be the silk had you saw that night, would it?"
"Yep! That's it! That's the hat he was wearing that night!" Krusty said with a smile.
"No question in our mind?" J asked him.
"Exactly how would one mistake a think like that?!" Krusty said with a nod.
"I see…" J said with a grin.
"Is there some sort of problem, Miss. J?" Maccadam asked.
"Miss. Wittebane." J said looking at Courtney "Where exactly was the silk hat found?"
"Must you always ask these questions?! It was found at the crime scene!" Courtney said smiling but then thinking about it gets worried said "The c-c-crime scene…That means…"
"The silk had fell off at the crime scene!" J said nodding. "However the witness clearly testified to the contrary! The witness stated that 'he was wearing it the entire time that he was on the scene!"
"Nooooooooooo! That's not truuuuueeeee!" Krusty yells out as the audience chatter at this revalation.
Maccadam bangs his gavel to silence and yells out "ORDER! ORDER! OOORRRDER! MR. KRUSTOFSKY!" He glares at the clown.
"Err…Y-yes, Your Honor?" Krusty said nervous looking down.
"WHAT IS THE MEANING OF ALL OF THIS?!" Maccadam asked for the first time sounding like he was almost done entertaining this one. "You are old enough to know better than to behave like this in court!"
"Hey! That's just not right! That's so harsh!" Krusty said.
"What's not right here is your eyesight and your memory, amongst other things!" Maccadam told him.
Krusty remained silent then said angrily "Wh…Why are you being so mean to me! What did I do?! Let me guess…You just didn't like my jokes or something, right? You didn't have to go and insult my eyesight or my memory! They're both great! Seriously! Why?! Just because you are sitting above me doesn't mean you belong there! And no matter how old I get, I'll always be younger than you! WAAAAAAHHHHHHH!"
Everyone remains silent but then Maccadam said annoyed "Enough of these childish outbursts, Mr. Krustofsky! Who do you think you are?"
"I saw her! I swear I saw her! It was Trixie!" Krusty yells out angry. "Even if she didn't have her roses, she was still hearing her dumb silk hat! I'm telling the truth!"
"He's turned into a bratty little kid." Jaden said sighing.
"It's pitiful, isn't it?" J said sighing as well.
"She left the scene wearing that dumb silk hat! She was there!" Krusty tells the court.
'She…left the scene?' J thinks at that.
"What's the matter, J?" Jaden asked noticing her thinking look.
"There's something I've been mulling over for a while now." J told him and looks to Krusty. "Krusty?"
"What do you want?!" Krusty asked still annoyed.
"You just said that she left the scene…Exactly how did the murderer leave the scene of the crime?" J asked him.
"WHAT?!" Krusty said annoyed and looks down "She…Umm…She…Went…What do you mean 'how did she leave the scene'? You can't ask me that!"
"Objection!" Courtney calls out and said, "Miss. Serial Designation J is badgering the witness, Your Honor!"
"Objection!" J called out and counters with "This witness's testimony is so full of holes, Miss. Wittebane's protest is useless!"
"Grrr…" Courtney said annoyed as Camerupt comforts her.
"You've got a point." Maccadam said nodding "Let's hear what the witness has to say on this matter. Is that alright with you, little guy?"
"Don't talk to me like I'm a little baby!" Krusty said annoyed. "Besidees, what kind of stupid question is 'how did she leave the crime scene?!' The answer's obsious! She just turned around and walked away!"
"That's what I expected you'd to say…You sure that's how it happened?" J said to him.
"Say what?!" Krusty said in shock.
"Huh? I'm not sure I know exactly where you're going with this…" Maccadam asked confused. "Lawyers nowadays sure do love to harp on the smallest things. Do you have any proof to counter his story as to how the criminal left the scene?"
"Take that!" J said as she shows on the screens the Crime Photo "Look at this picture. The problem is the footprints in the snow…"
"Footprints?" Maccadam said confused.
"In this photo, we can clearly see the footprints of the victim!" J tells the court adding "However, where are the crimina''s footprints? They aren't there!"
"Ai-yai-yai!" Krusty yells out loudly and the audience chatter in shock.
"So Krusty, exactly how did the criminal escape the scene?" J asked the clown.
"Umm…She…Uh…." Krusty said looking down
"Your Honor!" J called out. "This witness has already proven that his testimony is completely unreliable! I move to strike all of this witness's testimony from the court record!"
"I agree…" Maccadam said thinking. "This clown's testimony is as rickety as the clown car he came to court in."
"WAIT JUST A SECOND!" Krusty yells out silencing everyone and said annoyed "You guys can't just ignore everything I've said! Fine fine! I'll tell you the truth this time…"
Courtney whips her bench and said annoyed "YOU WAIT A SECOND! I think you've said more than enough for today!" and whips him.
"That didn't hurt at all!" Krusty said at being whipped and said angry "I'm sick and tired of listening to you anyways! I'll give you the real deal this time…I swear!"
"I don't know why, but I get the feeling things are going to get worse before they get better." Jaden said concerned.
Maccadam bangs his gavel and said "Mr. Hershel Krustofsky."
"Yes?!" Krusty said chuckling.
"The testimony you've provided up until now has been false?" Maccadam asked
"It hasn't been false! I haven't lied! It's just…" Krusty said and hesitates.
"It's just what?" Maccadam asked.
"It's just I was a bit confused on the bit about the crim, inal leaving the scene." Krusty told the court. "Especially since Courtney and her whip and Camerupt told me not to talk about what I really saw!"
This cause everyone to chatter in shock and Maccadam bangs his gavel and yells out "ORDER! ORDER! I WILL HAVE ORDER!" He looks sternly at Courtney "Courtney Wittebane! How could you!"
Courtney smiles and curtsey bows saying "Your Honor…If you heard the truth from this witness…You would have exactly the same opinion as I have."
"What opinion is that?" Maccadam asked.
"It's not funny!" Courtney simply said.
Maccadam bangs his gavel "That's enough out of you! I'm going to listen to what he has to say. Now then, let's hear the truth about what you say you saw, Mr. Krustofsky!"
"Hah! You're not going to believe this but it's all true I tell you!" Krusty told him.
"Try not to waste our time with your idiotic drivel." Courtney said sighing.
Krusty begins to give his testimony on 'The Truth' saying "Now it's time for our next segment, "Krusty Knows". Everything I have said up until now has been the truth!"
We flashback to see the scene of the crime that night from Krusty's POV as the clown continues saying "When I looked out of the window, the Ringmaster was down, and Trixie was standing above him! She was not wearing her roses, but she was wearing the silk hat! That's when I saw…She…" We then see the silloette fly up into the air as how they left the scene and Krusty said "This is the truth now, get ready for it! She flew! She jumped up and flew through the air! She flew right off and disappeared into the darkness!"
We return to the present as Krusty finished off laughing as he said "That's why there were no footprints. Flying criminals don't leave footprints."
Once he was done Courtney grins and curtsey bows and said to everyone "I told you it wasn't funny. Do you believe me now?"
J was sweatdropping as mentally she can now fully understand why Courtney made sure Krusty did tell the court this, she kind of regrets driving Krusty so far that he had to reveal this to the court. And with the silence of everyone else in the court everyone had the same thought.
"Well…That was…Umm…How do you put this into words…" Maccadam said unsure what to say.
"Trixie Lulamoon is a world-class magician." Courtney said to the court. "But to leave the scene of a crime by flying while being an actually being incapable of flying…there's no way that actually happened."
"You…You're right." Maccadam said nodding.
"Why is she right?! You believe the other witnesses!" Krusty said annoyed. "Why won't you believe me?! Especially since it's the best part of the story!"
"Hmm…To be honest, this is the first time I've heard of a flying criminal." Maccadam said thinking. "What do you think about this witness's testimony, Miss. J?"
"It's obvious that the witness's eyes are playing tricks on him…" J said sweat dropping.
"Don't be such a fool!" Krusty yells out. "Who in the world do you think I would mistake that jerk for?!"
'Jeez…I didn't say you were lying!' J thinks to herself.
"Wow, he looks really serious right now. More serious than he's looked all day!" Jaden said surprised.
Maccadam bangs his gavel then said to everyone "I suppose I will let you all in on my thinking regarding this matter…'The criminal disappeared into the sky.' I'd love to believe that…But I just can't wrap my head around how that could actually happen."
"You imbecile!" Courtney said annoyed at Krusty.
"If you disregard a need for proof, Miss. Wittebane's case is sound." Maccadam continues. "However…I've got the feeling that this case is in dire need of more investigation. Thus, I will conclude today's proceedings at this point! It's an undisputed fact that the criminal left no footprints at the scene. Tomorrow, I want us to find out the reason behind this mystery of mysteries."
"Umm, uhh…" J speaks out sweating.
"Grr…" Courtnety lets out annoyed
Both Defence and Prosecution thought the same thing 'How am I supposed to figure that mystery out?!'
"I believe that's enough for today. Court is adjourned!" Maccadam said and slams his gavel ending the trial for the day.
December 29, 2:33 PM, District Court, Defendant Lobby No. 5
J and Jaden met up with Trixie who looks more worried as she said "Hey! Dear and Sweetie! What in the world is going on?!"
"That's what I want to know!" J said to that.
"They say the criminal flew off into the air and disappeared!" Jaden said looking down. "Trixie, I can't believe I'm asking this, but you didn't fly that night, did you?"
"I know you didn't mean to ask me such a fabulously stupid question!" Trixie said to him. "I can't fly whenever I please like how a Drone like J here can. It's not that easy!"
"But it looks so effortless for you on stage…" Jaden points out.
"It's not that simple! I'm not actually flying on stage!" Trixie tells him and explained "I use invisible wires and have them hoist me through the air!"
"Wow…You just time me the secret to your magic!" Jaden said surprised.
Trixie eyes widen in shock and fear and yelled out "NO! I broke the first trule…The cardinal rule…The ONLY RULE!"
"I'm sorry, Trixie." J tell her. "We made you break a magician's creed to never reveal the secret to their tricks."
"J! What do we do now?!" Jaden asked concerned
"All we can do now is hope we find the flying criminal in court tomorrow." J tells him nodding.
"Great idea!" Jaden said smiling "Let's do our best and catch this sucker!"
Well that was annoying but time to continue the investigation and meet the only other member of the circus and uncover a secret of the circus.
