A couple of weeks had passed since New Year's Eve. In the living room, Skye was building a Disney Lego castle with Morgan. Morgan had gotten it as a Christmas gift, and she wanted Skye to help her build it. They had been working on it for days. Peter had even helped a little before he went back to his final semester at MIT.
Loki came and flopped on the couch. He and Thor had been arguing for days.
"What's wrong?" Skye asked him.
"He still will not let me visit my variant," Loki said.
"So I guess it wasn't about you not knowing the truth about your relation," Skye said.
"Nope," Loki said.
"Did you ask him why?" Skye asked as she attached the smaller piece she had built to the larger structure.
"He says he does not want me to get hurt. Same thing he has been saying since the beginning. It's bull s. . . Bull," he said stopping himself from swearing in front of Morgan.
"Bull shit?" Morgan asked.
"Morgan, you can't say that," Skye said quickly.
Loki had to cover his mouth to keep his face from showing how funny he thought it was.
"Why not? Daddy does," Morgan said
"Yeah. It's a big people word," Skye said. "And I know he and your mommy would not want you saying it."
"Not fair," Morgan said sulking.
"I'm not allowed to say it either," Skye said.
"So we can both say it and no one has to know," Morgan said. "Loki almost said it."
Skye had to bite the inside of her cheek to keep from laughing. She took a breath and calmed herself. "Loki stopped himself because he knew he would be in trouble if he said it. And if I let you when your mommy and daddy find out and trust me they'd find out I'd be in big trouble.
"Let me or I'll tell them you did," Morgan said.
Skye's mouth dropped open in shock.
"And I will back Skye up that she did not," Loki said.
Morgan got up and stomped to her room and slammed the door.
Skye sighed. "Thank you, Loki."
"Little brat thinks she can get away with things because she is so young and cute," Loki said.
"I don't know that I'd call her a brat," Skye said.
"Really? What is the definition of a brat?" Loki asked
Skye sighed. "Okay. Maybe a little."
"You going to tell Tony and Pepper about this?" Loki asked.
"She is, because my daughter says you two were in here swearing a lot, and when she told you to stop you both told her no," Tony said arms crossed.
Skye looked up at him, "that's not what happened. At all."
"Okay," Tony said uncrossing his arms. "Tell me what did happen."
"Loki came in here annoyed because Thor won't let him go visit his variant," Skye said. "He said it was bull and almost said bull shit but stopped himself. Your kid is too clever for her own good and I guess has heard it enough that she offered bull shit as what he meant to say. I told her she could not say that and there was a lot of back and forth. I told her I wasn't even really allowed to say that and she said we could both say it and no one had to know. I told her if I let her that you and Pepper would find out and I would be in big trouble. She threatened me saying if I didn't let her she would tell you that I did let her. Loki quickly told her that he would back me up telling you the truth," Skye said.
Tony sighed.
"I would not swear in front of her. Intentionally anyway. And I don't swear that much. . . anymore," Skye said.
Tony chuckled, "Because your dad doesn't like you swearing."
"Yeah," Skye said. "I know you don't care if I swear in front of you. But I wouldn't in front of Morgan or James."
"I don't mind no. But you are a teenager Morgan is nine. There is a difference. Thank you for trying to correct her."
"She did say that you said it. I told her that it was a big people word," Skye said.
"Okay. Thank you. Pepper and I will handle it," Tony said. "I do believe you."
Skye nodded.
"Skye. Promise I believe you. I know Morgan has been giving you a hard time," Tony said.
"Yeah. She really has," Skye said. "I just thought it was because I was giving James attention. But my attention was fully on her right now."
"I know it's not fair Skye, I'm sorry," Tony said.
"Thanks," Skye said.
Her phone started to ring. She looked at it. It was Renée's number. She didn't think the two had ever actually called each other. They just had each other's numbers for emergencies or something.
"Hey Renée," Skye said answering it.
"Are you on speaker?" Renée's voice asked nervously.
"Nope," Skye said.
"Okay. So here is what is going to happen," another voice started to say. "You are not going to call attention to this not being Renée. And you are going to do what I say or Renée will not live to see the end of the day."
Skye took a breath, "Okay."
"And don't think for one second that I won't know if you tell someone anything," the female voice said.
"Okay," Skye said again.
"You are going to get Sasha out of that prison. And you are going to bring her to the address I will be texting you. You have four hours to get her to the location where I sent you. Or you can explain to your friend how you let his girlfriend die and did nothing to prevent it," the female voice said.
"Okay. Fine," Skye said trying to keep her voice steady.
"And remember. I will know if you have told anyone. You will do this on your own. I'm sure with your superpowers you can do that," the girl said her voice dripping with condescension before she hung up.
"So. I'm going to go out for a little. Go get some ice cream with Renée. I'm thinking black licorice," Skye said getting up and going towards her room.
"You like black licorice ice cream?" Loki asked.
"On occasion," Skye said.
"Yeah she has mentioned it to me before," Tony said.
Skye went to her room and threw a few things in her backpack before she snuck down to the basement and punched in a code into a room where they kept things that needed to be kept locked up and found the teleport device that she had taken from Victoria. She took a breath pressed the button and teleported into the prison. She knew the laws she was breaking were a lot and she hoped that at the end of the day, people would understand and she could be forgiven.
After Skye had gone to her room Tony went to his office and grabbed Steve and Bucky to join him. When they were in the office and the door closed Tony spoke.
"F.R.I.D.A.Y. Are there any breaches in the security of the compound?" Tony asked.
F.R.I.D.A.Y. took a moment before he responded. "No, Mr. Stark."
"And where was Skyler last in the compound?" Tony asked.
"She went into the item containment room fifteen minutes ago and left with the teleportation device," F.R.I.D.A.Y said.
"Thank you," Tony said before he looked up at Steve and Bucky. "Skye got a call and answered it saying hello to someone named Renée. When she hung up she told me she was going out with her to get black licorice ice cream."
"Black licorice ice cream?" Bucky asked confused.
"That was the code we came up with when we almost traded her for her variant. So it would never happen again," Steve said.
"I don't know that this has anything to do with her variant. I just think whatever is going on she couldn't say anything that would give anything away. She knew that was the only way to tell me something was wrong," Tony said.
"Do you have any idea what it could be about?" Steve asked.
"She said so little," Tony said. "I have no idea. Who is Renée?"
"Cooper Barton's girlfriend. Skye met her in Iowa when visiting. She goes to NYU. When Skye and Cooper went to the tree lighting Renéewas with them too," Steve said.
"Any concerns about her?" Tony asked.
"I don't think so. I can not imagine that Clint wouldn't be on the defense about the people his kids spend time with after what happened with Sasha and Jessica," Steve said.
Steve's phone started to ring. He looked at it and it was Fury.
"Hey Fury," Steve said answering on speaker. "Here with Tony and Bucky."
"Can you explain why your daughter just teleported into the prison and took Sasha Shultz out?" Fury asked.
"I don't know exactly," Steve said.
"We weren't sure what was going on but Skye used a code word that we established a while ago after she got a call from Barton's son's girlfriend," Tony said. "We will track Skye and find her and figure out what she has been dragged into."
"Okay," Fury said. "Do it fast," he said annoyed before he hung up.
Tony typed something into his computer before sending himself as well as Steve and Bucky a text message that was tracking Skye's movement.
"I think the fewer who know about this the better," Tony said.
"Agreed. The three of us will go," Steve said.
"I have to go explain to my wife without telling her too much before we go," Tony said getting up. "Give me five minutes." He went and found Pepper and whispered to her. "There is a situation. Steve, Bucky, and I are going to handle it. As we are leaving I'm going to tell Happy to lock the compound down until we get back. I can't tell you more than that. I'm sorry. I will come home."
Pepper looked at him.
He kissed her cheek.
Pepper let out a breath. "Okay."
The three left and the compound was locked down.
When Skye had teleported into Sasha's cell the first thing she did was cover her mouth to keep her from saying anything.
"You can not ask any questions," she said softly. "You're going to answer my questions with a nod or shaking your head. Got it?" Skye asked
Sasha nodded.
"I got an interesting call. Know anything about it?" Skye asked.
Sasha shook her head.
"You sure? Someone who wants you out of here? Someone who is going to great lengths to get me to help. Any idea?" Skye asked.
Sasha nodded slowly.
"If I uncover your mouth are you going to scream?" Skye asked.
Sasha shook her head.
Skye let her go. "Who?"
"Maybe Jessica," Sasha said softly.
"Why do you think it would be her?" Skye asked
"I know she had a thing for me," Sasha said. "Maybe she still does. I don't want out of here illegally."
"Well unfortunately there isn't a choice. I need to get you to her. Or whoever it is because they have someone I care about hostage," Skye said.
"What!?" Sasha said softly. "For fuck sakes. Fine. Let's go before they find out."
"You keep your mouth shut when we get there until my friend is seen and okay. I might have to say things that aren't true but just keep quiet," Skye said as she grabbed her arm and teleported them out just before the door to the cell was opened.
When Skye teleported her and Sasha in, she was not surprised to see Jessica there.
"Okay. Where is Renée?" Skye asked.
"Safe, for now," Jessica said. "You don't seem surprised it's me."
"Well I asked Sasha who would have reason to want her out so bad that they would do something like this," Skye said.
"Ah," Jessica said with a smile. "Of course. Well, I would do anything for my best friend. As I'm sure you would too."
"Well. I'd do anything to protect anyone I care about yeah. Not sure I would abduct someone to get someone out of jail who should be there. Now you want me to release her from my grasp I need to see Renée," Skye said.
"Bring her out," Jessica called out.
A man came out dragging Renée who was tied up and gagged looking terrified.
Sasha was confused as to why Renée was the one abducted.
"What?" Jessica asked her.
"Why Renée?" she knew her from school.
"Oh, I guess Skye didn't tell you. She is dating Cooper Barton. She and Skye are friends," Jessica said with a smirk.
"Oh," Sasha said looking at Skye.
"I forgot you would know her from school," Skye said with a shrug.
Sasha nodded.
"Untie her. Now," Skye said. "Oh my god. You're the guy I threw across the alley."
The guy didn't move to do what Skye said.
"Untie her or Sasha and I are out of here. And because of her escape, she will be there longer," Skye said.
"You took her out. Maybe you will be in there instead," Jessica said with a smirk.
"No. I won't be," Skye said. "Because all I have to say is Renée was threatened and the full force of SHIELD will be brought down on both of you and Sasha. Because clearly, you two set this up together."
"Sasha didn't know about this," Jessica said.
"Prove it," Skye said. "Did you two talk on the phone even just once?"
Jessica let out a low growl.
"Untie her," Skye said firmly.
Jessica nodded to the guy and Renée was untied and lifted from the ground and held into place.
"Now we switch," Jessica said.
Steve, Bucky, and Tony tracked Skye to the warehouse district to an empty warehouse. They moved quietly into the warehouse hid behind a stack of boxes and watched things play out. Skye seemed to have it handled right now and they didn't want to interrupt and screw things up.
"Let her go first," Skye said.
"No, because if he lets her go you can attack him before we get Sasha and she can't get away," Jessica said.
"I could have attacked you at this point," Skye said.
"Not with Renée in front of him you can't," Jessica said.
"My aim is spectacular. I can demonstrate?" Skye said creating a ball of fire in her free hand.
"No!" Sasha said. "Let her go Jessica."
Jessica looked at Sasha. "You don't think I can get you and keep her too?"
"No. I don't. And I don't want you to," Sasha said.
"Are you on Skye's side now?" Jessica asked.
"I'm on the side of the fact that I had two weeks left. TWO. And you fucked that up for me," Sasha said.
"I thought you had like three years left," Jessica said.
"I did. Until someone put in a good word for me!" Sasha said
"Who?" Jessica said.
"That would be me," Skye said.
"What! Why?" Jessica asked.
"Give me Renée and maybe I'll tell you," Skye said.
"Skye. I'm not sure I can walk," Renée said quickly.
"Let her go," Skye said.
"No," Jessica said.
"Then Sasha goes back and gets probably more than the original sentence," Skye said.
"Fine. She is clearly on your side now," Jessica said.
"That is not what I said," Sasha said. "I said if I go back there the two weeks I had left is gone."
"Well Skye put in a good word for you for a reason," Jessica said.
"Cause I told her I was sorry," Sasha said with a smirk. "Led her to believe I wouldn't go back on HYDRA's side."
"Ah," Jessica said with a smirk. "That's my girl." She looked at the guy. "Let her go."
Renée was released and Skye used her whirlwind ability to carefully grab Renée and pull her over to her. Skye let Sasha go at that moment.
"Skye. I didn't mean it. I won't go back to their side," Sasha said quickly.
Skye focused her whirlwind on Jessica and the man and knocked them hard onto the ground. That was when Steve, Bucky, and Tony came into the room and quickly grabbed Jessica and the man.
Jessica looked so confused "How the fuck did they know?!" Jessica screamed as she was pulled up from the ground.
"For us to know and you not to worry about," Skye said with a smirk
Steve and Tony had their two criminals in their grasp.
Tony sent out a request for backup from SHIELD.
Bucky took hold of Sasha.
"Skye, you have the teleport device still?" Tony asked.
"Yes, Sir," Skye said.
"Okay. We've got these three. You get Renée to the compound to Bruce. You will not be able to teleport in you will have to go through the front to Happy. Let him know I say he can let you in but keep the compound otherwise still in lockdown," Tony said. "I've already put out a request for backup from Fury. He will get them where they belong."
"Make sure he knows Sasha didn't want this. She was okay waiting the two weeks," Skye said.
"We will," Steve said. "Go."
Skye took Renée's arm and teleported to the front of the compound. "Put your arm around my shoulder," Skye said and she pretty much carried Renée in finding Happy.
"Happy, Tony said to let me in but keep the compound in lockdown," Skye said.
Happy raised an eyebrow. "How do I know it's really you? And who is this?"
"This is Renée Chambers. Cooper Barton's girlfriend. She was abducted to get me to do something I wouldn't have otherwise done. And um. You knew something was happening between Tucker and me before we were allowed to date but didn't say anything," She said softly.
Happy smirked, "okay. Go."
Skye carefully helped her into the compound and to Bruce's lab.
Bruce got up from the desk when he saw her come in.
"This is Renée she is hurt. She was involved in an attempted prisoner escape. She is Cooper Barton's girlfriend, ankle and I don't know if anything else is wrong," Skye said as she helped her on the table.
"She's not enhanced in any way?" Bruce asked.
"No," Skye said.
Renée laid down with tears in her eyes.
"You are okay with me being the one doing the exam?" Bruce asked.
Renée nodded.
"Renée. I am so sorry you got caught up in this," Skye said softly.
Renée nodded again.
"Left ankle?" Bruce asked.
Renée nodded and Bruce took off the shoe and sock on her foot and took a look.
"Can you move it?" Bruce asked.
Renée moved it a little and whimpered. "We are going to do an x-ray."
Renée opened her mouth to say something but closed it.
"You can change your mind at any time about me doing the exam," Bruce told her.
"No. I just. X-rays are expensive," she said.
"Oh. No. You don't have to worry about that here. You were hurt because of something to do with the Avengers. No one is going to charge you anything," Bruce said.
"Oh," Renée said.
"The amount of times I have been on this table my dad would be bankrupt if he had to pay for it," Skye said.
Renée chuckled.
"I do get paid the same as any of the other Avengers. I don't go on many missions. My job is here as their doctor," Bruce said. "And because you got hurt because of something connected to the Avengers I have no issues treating you."
"Okay. Thank you," Renée said.
"Any other pain or discomfort? You hit your head at all?" Bruce asked.
"My shoulder. I got dragged around. I don't know if something was pulled or what," Renée said.
"Okay. Which one? I will get that x-rayed as well," Bruce said.
"Left one as well," Renée said.
Bruce took x-rays of both her ankle and shoulder and waited for the scans to show up on his screen.
"Do you want to call Cooper?" Skye asked.
"I don't have my phone. They took it I never got it back," Renée said.
Skye took out her phone "Want to use my phone? Or want me to call him?"
"I don't know how he will react," Renée said.
"Renée. You can't not tell him. I can't keep this a secret from him," Skye said.
"The problem is he might freak out and want to come here and I don't want him skipping out on school for days to come here," Renée said.
"I have the teleport device and before my dad takes it away I can get him here," Skye said.
"I don't hear this conversation. Because I should take that from you," Bruce said.
Skye chuckled, "Noted. But come on if it was Nat."
"I get it," Bruce said. "Which is why I don't hear it."
Renée took Skye's phone and called Cooper's number.
"Hey Skye, what's up?" Cooper asked answering the phone,
"Um. It's me. My phone is I guess missing. Skye let me borrow hers. Um. I'm at the Avenger's compound being looked at by the doctor here. I got caught up in an Avenger thing and got hurt," Renne said.
"What!" Cooper said annoyed. "Put it on speaker."
Renée did so. "Done."
"I'm assuming it's Dr. Banner?" Cooper asked.
"Yes. Skye is here too," Bruce said.
"How bad?" Cooper asked.
"Just looking at the scans now. Left ankle sprained and a grade one torn ligament in her left shoulder," Dr. Banner said.
"Grade one it the least bad?" Cooper asked.
"Yes. Grade one means rest, ice, and anti-inflammatory medication should fix it," Bruce said. "Won't even need a sling,"
"Okay," Cooper said. "How did she get caught up in something Avenger-related?"
"I'm going to turn that question over to Skye or Renée because I have no idea," Bruce said.
"Stupid fucking bitch Jessica," Skye said.
"That Jessica?" Cooper asked.
"Yes. She abducted Renée knowing that I would run to help her. By getting Sasha out of prison," Skye said. "And I did. But I did so in a way that alerted a few people here who came and were my backup. Jessica, Sasha, and the man involved all have been arrested and I'm sure will be spending time in prison. I'm not sure what the deal is with Sasha seeing as I do not believe she knew what was happening and was supposed to be getting out in two weeks but yeah."
"You didn't get hurt?" Cooper asked.
"No," Skye said.
"Cooper this wasn't Skye's fault," Renée said.
"I didn't say I blamed Skye," Cooper said. "Don't blame you either."
"I honestly thought you blamed me Renée," Skye said
"No," Renée said. "Just in pain."
"You want something for the pain?" Dr. Banner asked.
"Please," Renée said.
"Any medicines you allergic to?" Dr. Banner asked.
"No," Renée said.
"Any reasons you wouldn't want a steroid painkiller?" Dr Banner asked.
"No," Renée said.
Dr. Banner injected a steroid painkiller into her arm. "It should start working fairly quickly."
Renée nodded.
"Cooper. If you want to come. I can come get you, with a teleport device," Skye said.
"Coop don't worry. Stay at school," Renée said
"I did not know you had access to something like that," Cooper said.
"Yeah. Courtesy of my mother before she died," Skye said. "At least she was good for something. It has been locked up but I knew how to get to it. I needed it for this situation. I'm sure it will be taken away as soon as my dads get back but I can come get you before."
"Cooper. Stay there," Renée said.
"Baby. I can't knowing I can get to you so easily," Cooper said.
"Where are you currently?" Skye asked.
"Just got home," Cooper said.
"Perfect I would not teleport to your school," Skye said.
"Skye do not go get him," Renée said.
"Skye. Come get me please," Cooper said.
"Be there as soon as I can," Skye said before she hung up. "I don't think I can teleport out of here with the compound in lockdown."
"Not in lockdown anymore," Bucky said coming in. "Where are you going?"
"Um. To get Cooper," she said smiling innocently.
"Go. Before your dad gets down here because he won't let you," Bucky said
Skye teleported out into Cooper's bedroom.
"Shit, that was quick," Cooper said.
"Sorry. Come on before someone stops me," Skye said.
Cooper went with her and teleported back into the lab.
"This is not a toy," Steve said holding out his hand for the device.
"I don't think it's a toy," Skye said.
"It can be dangerous. It's one thing when you have to use it but you didn't have to for this," Steve said.
"If Bucky was hurt you'd want to be there," Skye said
"You could have asked Loki who knows how to use his ability to go get him," Steve said. "And he will be the one asked to take him back when that time comes."
Skye let out a breath and handed him the device.
Steve looked at Cooper. "I get you are an adult but do your parents know you are here?"
"No," Cooper said slowly.
"Let them know please," Steve said.
Cooper took out his phone and texted his dad and let him know.
Steve looked at Bruce, "how badly is she hurt?"
"Sprained ankle, minor torn ligament in her shoulder," Bruce said.
Steve looked at Renée, "Whatever you need it is covered."
"Thank you. He told me that too," Renée said nodding to Dr. Banner.
"Okay good," Steve said before he looked at Skye "Are you hurt?"
"No. Not at all," Skye said. "What did Fury have to say?"
"We will talk later," Steve said. "But you are not in trouble for the way you handled it."
"Okay," Skye said
Cooper had taken Renée's hand when he had gotten there and didn't let it go.
"How is the pain?" Dr. Banner asked her.
"A little better she said sleepily," Renée said.
"Have you ever had steroid painkillers before?" Dr. Banner asked
"Don't think so," she mumbled.
"How do you feel right now?" he asked.
"Pretty good actually," Renée said.
"Is she high?" Cooper asked with a smirk
"I think so. It's not a common side effect but she should be fine," Dr. Banner said as he finished wrapping her ankle. "She might be more comfortable in an actual bed but I don't know if she can move."
"You can use the guest room you usually use when she can be moved," Steve said.
"Thank you," Cooper said to Steve. "You want me to carry you?" Cooper asked Renée
"Mhm," Renée said.
"Make sure she drinks lots of water. And she can use over-the-counter painkillers in the future. Ibuprofen will be the best option. And ice her shoulder and ankle," Bruce said. "And we have crutches she can use as well."
"Thank you, Dr. Banner," Cooper said as he put his arms under Renée's legs and back and gently lifted her.
"Of course," Bruce said.
Cooper carried her up with Skye following.
"Skye I know you likely put yourself in harm's way to protect her. Thank you," Cooper said.
"It was in a way my fault. Jessica was pissed with me and well Renée was an easy target," Skye said.
"No it wasn't your fault," Cooper said. "But I do agree she was the easy target here. I want to try and get her to come home and go to school where I can keep her safe but I feel like that will get me punched," Cooper said.
"Damn right it will," Renée mumbled.
"Rest baby," Cooper said with a soft chuckle.
Skye smirked. " Sounds about right. But I will always be here to help her if she needs it."
"I know. Thank you," Cooper said. "I'm guessing Tucker knows about none of this."
"Not yet. But I will tell him. It's the deal we have. He won't react to me being hurt doing things like this because of who I am. But I will tell him when things happen even if I don't get hurt," Skye said.
"Pretty reasonable," Cooper said as the elevator opened on the right floor and Cooper carried her to the guest room.
Nat looked between Cooper and Renée and Skye. "What the hell happened?"
"Go ahead Cooper I'll fill her in," Skye said.
Cooper went.
"Renée was abducted to get me to do what someone wanted, it's all been handled, Renée is minorly injured. A little high from the pain killers but she is going to be okay," Skye said.
"You're not hurt?" Nat asked.
"No," Skye said.
Steve came up. "Okay, you. Let's go talk."
Skye went with him and they sat in her room on her window seat.
"Okay. So. I do think you handled this situation perfectly. I have heard the recording of the conversation between you and Jessica. You do know all your calls are recorded right?" Steve asked.
"Yes. I also know they aren't listened to unless there is a safety thing in play," Skye said.
"Good," Steve said. "So. You did everything right. You told Tony the only way you could that something was going on but you couldn't about it. And I'm really proud of you."
Skye smiled. "Thank you, Daddy."
"In the future when it comes to anything in the locked room. If you have to use it you can. You are allowed. But if there are other options you do not. So going and getting Cooper. Was not okay. I'm not going to come down on you for it. But this is your one free pass. Do you understand?" Steve asked.
"Understood," Skye said.
"Okay," Steve said wrapping his arms around her. Skye hugged him tightly.
Steve kissed her head. "You have come a long way from that girl in the alley."
"You recognized him too?" Skye asked.
"I would have but we were there listening for a while. I heard you call him out on it. We knew you had it handled on your own up to that point. We let you handle it until you needed the help," Steve said.
"I didn't know that," Skye said.
"Always have your back, Skye," Steve said.
"Thank you. I just thought you'd jump in as soon as you found me," Skye said.
"Nope. Because you were handling it. And we knew you could," Steve said.
Skye nodded.
"Do you think differently?" Steve asked.
"No," Skye said.
"Skyler. You are trusted. Fully. Keep handling things the same way and the trust will stay," Steve said.
Skye smiled big and nodded.
Steve's phone rang. He looked at it and answered in speaker.
"Hi Clint, you're on speaker with Skye too," Steve said
"My oldest son is there?" Clint asked.
"He is. With Renée. Did he tell you why he was here?" Steve asked.
"He did not," Clint said. "And also not how he got there."
"He got here by Skye and the teleportation device. He is here because Renée was abducted by Jessica. She attempted to use Skye to get Sasha out of prison. She was unaware that Sasha had only two more weeks left," Steve said. "Renée is okay. Slightly hurt. But Bruce checked her out and she is going to be okay."
"I figured if Tucker was hurt there I'd want to be there. It's why I brought Cooper here," Skye said
"Okay," Clint said. "If your Dad is okay with it that's not something I'm going to tell you off for."
"Well I don't love that she used a device that we don't entirely know about for it but no one here has an issue with Cooper being here," Steve said. "When it comes time for him to go back I will ask Loki if he can bring it him. I'm sure he knows more about his abilities than we do the device that was in HYDRA's hands at one point."
"Okay. Perfect," Clint said.
"I did tell him to let you know he was here. Maybe I should have told him to tell you why himself," Steve said with a chuckle.
"He is an adult. He knew you meant to tell me everything. But he is a young adult they still need smacks upside the head on occasion," Clint said.
Steve chuckled.
Skye shook her head.
"Do you have a different opinion, Skyler?" Steve asked.
"Nope," she said quickly. She did but she knew for the safety of her butt the only right answer was nope.
"Mhm," Steve said shaking his head. "I will make sure he keeps you updated about how things are going."
"Thank you," Clint said.
They hung up and Steve looked at Skye. "You're sure you are okay?"
"Yes," Skye said.
Steve got up. "Okay. I'll leave you be." Steve said before he left the room.
