MIST

Chapter one: New Beginnings

(Kamijou Touma)

"I'm so broke." Is all a young teen with spiky black hair can say. His name is Kamijou Touma, he's a Huntsman in training from A certain Hunter academy and dreams of becoming a Huntsman one day. Although with his rotten luck he's not sure whether he'll get into Beacon.

Beacon is one of the four major Huntsmen academies along with Shade, Atlas and Haven.

However Kamijou is no ordinary trainee. Unlike other people he fights with his fists, what he means is that he fights with his bare fists unlike other students who use gauntlets in hand to hand combat.

The reason for this is simple. His right hand holds an unknown power that has made it impossible for aura to manifest within him leaving him mostly defenceless if it wasn't for his right hand's main ability. He likes to call it 'Imagine Breaker' the power to negate anything and everything supernatural whether that is a person's aura, dust crystals, a semblance or even the Grimm themselves.

That's right you heard him correctly. Because his hand can negate anything supernatural, any Grimm that comes into contact with his right hand ends up disappearing into nothingness. It's become obvious to him that his teachers here want him to move on to Beacon already even though he's only sixteen and the entry age to beacon is seventeen.

He likes to keep a low profile so he doesn't really know anyone aside from his friend Tsuchimikado Motoharu. Together they are known as the pervert duo by most of the people in their class, often being attacked as an 'enemy of women'.

This poor Kamijou doesn't know why people get so mad about him being attracted to big breasted dorm manager types. What allows him to get along with Tsuchimikado is that despite their difference in tastes is their ability to have deep conversations on some incredibly silly subjects.

For example their current discussion on the best hairstyle.

"Look Kami, I get where you are coming from, medium length straight hair certainly can look quite attractive but pigtails look truly divine on little sisters. Maika tried having pigtails yesterday and it was amazing!" Tsuchimikado rants during their lunch break while Kamijou mutters about how broke he is.

"Just because you are a Siscon doesn't mean everyone else is." Kamijou snapped at the teen beside him. "I'm sick of hearing Maika this Maika that."

"Is something wrong Kami?" Tsuchimikado asks with concern in his voice.

"I'm out of time." Kamijou says with a sigh. "I have to take the entrance exam for Beacon this year and if I don't pass I can say bye-bye to ever being a huntsman."

"This is about 'Imagine Breaker' right?" Tsuchimikado asks

"Yeah, they think I'm wasting my potential here even though I'm a Level Zero." Kamijou explains.

Last year he was formally scouted by Ozpin, the headmaster of Beacon Academy. Even though he's a Level Zero the headmaster of Beacon believes his semblance 'Imagine Breaker' has the potential to save many lives.

People's levels are calculated based on two factors. The amount of Aura they have and their semblance. Someone with a ridiculous amount of Aura but a weak semblance will never be able to surpass level three.

Despite his semblance being quite strong he's still classified as a level zero because he has no Aura at all. He can't shield himself from attacks without his right hand leaving the rest of his body vulnerable to damage.

Now though he's being pressured on all sides to join early even though he wants to graduate from here first when he's seventeen before going to Beacon.

"What rotten luck." He murmurs to himself. It seems like this Kamijou has no choice but to attend early.

(Ruby Rose)

Humming quietly to the song her headphones are playing, Ruby Rose feels someone tap her shoulder. She turns to see a guy pointing at his ear. She takes her headphones off and places them around her neck.

"Yes?" She asks, completely oblivious to her surroundings.

"I said put your hands in the air, now!" The guy who looks suspiciously like a thug exclaims.

"Are you robbing me?" She asks.

"Yes!" The thug exclaims in frustration.

"Ohhhh." She says before sending him flying through a window.

And then things got crazy. After fighting off four more thugs an orange haired guy tries to shoot her before running away. He tries to escape on a plane of some sort but then a Huntress shows up. A real huntress!

She can only stare in awe as the huntress releases a barrage of attacks on the plane, she can even see it swaying violently.

However a moment later a girl in a crimson red dress sends a fireball at the Huntress that she easily blocks before dodging an explosion beneath her feet.

After a few more blows are exchanged between the Huntress and Crimson dress girl it seems like the Huntress has the advantage when six fiery looking circles appear beneath their feet.

The huntress looks startled and moves Ruby to safety however is too late to dodge herself. Ruby's eyes widened in concern.

Shatter!

The sound of shattering glass can be heard and standing there in front of the huntress with his hand on the ground is a teen with spiky black hair and black eyes.

"You two okay?"

(Kamijou Touma)

"You two okay?" Kamijou asks in concern. He'd heard explosions and fighting and decided he should intervene. He was eating curry in a restaurant nearby and after hearing the fighting thought his food would taste rather sour if he didn't at least check it out.

The huntress he'd just saved has green eyes and blonde hair tied up on the back of her head in a bun, she's also wearing glasses and green earrings, her outfit consists of white, black and grey with her having a black and purple cape that looks old and torn.

She also has incredibly large breasts. Not like that's important. Nope, not at all. Trying to avert his eyes from the huntress's breasts, Kamijou looks at the teen who is shorter than him next to the huntress.

She has short raven hair that has red highlights. Her eyes are silver, something that Kamijou has never seen before. She's wearing a red and black dress with a red hood that flows out into a cape.

(What is it with people in this place and capes?)

"You're a huntress." The black haired girl states after the plane gets away.

(Hello do I even exist?)

Kamijou becomes annoyed with the girl before him. He just swooped in like a cool hero and he doesn't even get a thank you!

He would've at least liked a thank you.

"Can I get your autograph?" The girl asks the Huntress.

(Oh, a hunter fangirl, makes sense now.)

He finds himself and the girl whisked away by the beautiful huntress, now it looks like they are in some sort of interrogation room.

(Bit extreme since I saved their asses.)

"Can I go?" Kamijou asks. His curry is definitely going cold.

(What rotten luck I have.)

"No." The huntress states bluntly before beginning to lecture the kid sitting next to him.

"I hope you realise that your actions tonight will not be taken lightly young lady. You put yourself and others in great danger." The Huntress says in a serious tone.

"They started it!" The girl next to him exclaims a very adorable pout on her face.

"If it were up to me you'd be sent home with a pat on the back–" She says pausing for a moment and the girl next to him looks very pleased with herself for a moment.

(Poor girl.)

This Kamijou has been in this situation enough times to know what's about to happen next.

"And a slap on the wrist." The huntress finishes sharply bringing her wand down on the table in front of them.

The girl lets out a squeaking sound in surprise.

"...But there is someone here who would like to meet you."

"Excuse me, if they want to meet the girl beside me then why am I here? I already gave my statement." Kamijou asks in confusion.

"The person here to see her also wishes to talk to you." She explains.

(Who could possibly want to talk to me?)

A silver haired guy walks in holding a white mug and a plate of cookies.

(Ozpin!)

"Ruby Rose, Imagine breaker." Ozpin says to the pair before him. "You…have silver eyes." Ozpin comments mysteriously looking into the girl's eyes.

"Uhm." Ruby says awkwardly.

"So where did you learn to do this?" The headmaster asks the girl showing her a video of her taking down some thugs not long before Kamijou arrived.

"S-Signal academy?" Ruby replies almost as if she's unsure of herself.

"Signal academy taught you to use one of the most dangerous weapons ever designed?" Ozpin asks harshly. This seems odd to Kamijou, finding the man to be far more pleasant when he'd first met him.

"Well one teacher in particular." She replies

"I see." Ozpin says aloud before handing the girl–Ruby the plate of cookies.

Ruby begins to scoff the cookies down at inhuman speeds.

"It's just that I've only seen one other scythe wielder of that skill before, a dusty old crow." Ozpin comments.

(I want to go home. I feel so uncomfortable here!)

Kamijou can barely understand what Ruby says next. It's something along the lines of "That's my uncle."

"Sorry." Ruby apologises after finally swallowing her mouthful of cookies. "That's my Uncle Qrow, he's a teacher at signal, I was complete garbage before he took me under his wing now I'm all like…" She says before letting out a bunch of sound effects while doing hand movements to explain how awesome she is.

"So I've noticed." Ozpin states. "And what is an adorable girl such as yourself doing at a school designed to train warriors?"

"Well…I want to be a Huntress." Ruby states looking far more serious than Kamijou had seen her all night, even when she was fighting.

"You want to slay monsters?" He asks the girl. Despite Kamijou feeling annoyed that he's being kept here even though he hasn't been asked anything yet he has a feeling Ozpin is going somewhere with this so he stays quiet for now.

"Yeah, I only have two more years left at signal before I plan to apply to Beacon…" She says before going off on a rant about her sister attending and why she wishes to become a huntress.

The Huntress from before does not look impressed with the girl.

Ozpin asks Ruby "Do you know who I am?"

"Your Professor Ozpin, the headmaster of Beacon" Ruby replies.

"Hello." Ozpin says to the girl.

"Nice to meet you." Ruby replies.

"You want to come to my school?" Ozpin asks.

"More than anything." Ruby replies longing in her voice.

(Oh I see where this is going.)

"Do you have no patience?" Kamijou asks, drawing the headmaster's attention. The Huntress in the room looks completely flabbergasted by his question and Ruby looks confused.

"What do you mean?" Ozpin asks innocently.

"Oh don't play dumb with me. This Kamijou knows where this is going." Kamijou replies. "You're going to invite her to join beacon early like you did me!"

The Huntress looks surprised. Ozpin smirks. Ruby looks ecstatic.

"Really!" The girl exclaims in excitement.

"Yes really." The headmaster confirms with a nod of his head.

"Now Kamijou Touma. I must ask you, have you thought about my offer?" Ozpin asks.

"What offer?" The Huntress asks, looking confused.

"Oh dear, Glynda, I seem to have forgotten to mention the fact that young Kamijou here was asked if he wanted to join Beacon last year but he refused." Ozpin explains to the Huntress beside him.

Kamijou sighs. "You know I hate standing out Professor Ozpin. I wanted to join at the same time as everyone else my age." He explains to the silver haired professor once more.

"However it seems that this Kamijou has no choice now. Academy city wants me gone for some reason. I'd be honoured to join Beacon this year." Kamijou agrees to Ozpin's proposal.

"Well then you two, You may leave. I hope to see you at Beacon soon." Ozpin bids the two goodbye before showing them out.

(Kamijou Touma.)

And now he is here. After all his hard work and effort he was finally on a bullhead to Beacon Academy.

Maybe his luck was finally starting to pick up.

He half-listens about the news of another faunus protest before it shuts off midway through and a hologram of Glynda Goodwitch shows up.

"Hello and welcome to Beacon, my name is Glynda Goodwitch, you are among a privileged few who have received the honour of being selected to attend this prestigious academy." She says very formally.

"Our world is experiencing an incredible time of peace and as future Huntsmen and Huntresses it is your duty to uphold it, you have demonstrated the courage that is needed for such a task and now it is our turn to provide you with the knowledge and training to protect our world" After the speech is finished the hologram shuts off.

Kamijou's cheeks turn red when he realises that Professor Goodwitch is almost exactly his type. Except instead of being a dorm mother she's a teacher.

Kamijou shakes his head to clear it of dirty thoughts.

As soon as they land he sees Ruby and a golden blonde haired girl talking before the golden blonde haired girl darts off.

"Hey Ruby!" He calls out to the short girl.

"Kamijou!" Ruby exclaimed in delight. After saving her and they'd gotten away from Ozpin she'd asked for his number and he'd happily given it to her.

It was nice having a friend that doesn't think he is a pervert.

While most people liked to go by their first names, people in his city liked to go by their family names and then as they got closer used first names. Ruby respected this tradition and thought it was quite cool.

In her excitement she stumbled backwards and fell into someone's luggage. Kamijou sighs. Sometimes this girl was almost as unlucky as him, the king of misfortune.

"What are you doing!" A posh voice screeches at the sight of Ruby falling into her luggage.

"Sorry." Ruby apologises.

"Sorry?" The girl whines "Do you have any idea of the damage you could have done!" The girl rants at poor Ruby who looks dazed. The posh girl has long snow white hair tied back into a ponytail. Her ice blue eyes stare at Ruby with disgust.

She's wearing all white. Is she an Ice queen or something?

She mentions something about dust and Kamijou charges towards the two girls smelling a train wreck. Ruby sneezes as Kamijou stretches out his right hand.

The sound of shattering glass can be heard as he negates the explosion. However he ends up knocking over the posh white haired girl.

He londs with his face right in front of hers with his right hand on her boob.

(Oh fuck!)

The girl freaks out and screams before sending this poor Kamijou flying.

"SUCH MISFORTUNE!" He yells into the ground as his face eats dirt. He misses the argument the two have about Ruby being a klutz and then a black haired beauty walks up holding the bottled dust that got sent flying with Kamijou.

"It's heiress actually, Weiss Schnee, heiress to the Schnee dust company, one of the largest producers of energy propellant in the world…" The black haired beauty chimes in. She has long black hair with a black bow on top that he swears he saw twitch. Her eyes are amber and look almost cat-like to him.

Like she's constantly looking out for danger.

"Finally some recognition." The bratty voice of one Weiss Schnee chimes in.

"...The same company infamous for its controversial work forces and questionable business partners." The black haired beauty finishes with a smirk.

Weiss looks frustrated. Ruby hums triumphantly. Kamijou can just about feel the smirk of the black haired girl.

(Damn.)

That felt personal. As much as Kamijou enjoys putting a bully in their place, the look on Weiss's face makes him feel guilty even though he did nothing.

"Ugh." Weiss says annoyed before snatching the bottle off of the girl and storming off.

"I promise I'll make it up to you!" Ruby shouts at the girl who's a good distance off.

She turns to look at the girl who insulted the heiress but finds she's a good distance off as well.

She just slumps to the floor miserable.

"At least I have you, Kamijou." Ruby says.

"Yeah, think positively this is only the beginning." Kamijou says.

They meet a blond haired guy called Jaune Arc and wander around for a bit talking about weapons. Kamijou instinctively puts his left hand on the holster at his side.

His backup weapon when 'Imagine breaker' isn't an option is a black pistol with a white dragon design on the gun. It turns itself into a grappling hook as well.

He calls his gun the Dragon Canon. He knows it's not really a canon but it sounds cooler this way.

After a while they realise they are lost.

(What Rotten luck.)

He should've just followed Weiss when she stormed off. It seemed like she knew where to go at least.

(Kamijou Touma) (Saturday September 1st)

Soon they arrive at some kind of auditorium. Leaving Jaune alone he and Ruby walk up to the golden blonde haired from before.

"How's your first day going little sister?" The golden blonde haired girl asks Ruby. This must be Yang, Ruby's sister she talks so much about.

Ruby then goes on to explain what happened although she looks very confused when Ruby talks about Kamijou.

(Has she not mentioned me?)

And then Weiss shows up out of nowhere and acts like one of those people that are hired to read ads. You know the one. Super quick voice that irritates you and you can't understand a word being said.

After Yang says that it looks like they got off on the wrong foot, Weiss notices Kamijou staring at the ground trying to avoid eye-contact.

"YOU!" Weiss exclaims.

Kamijou tries to shush her but fails miserably.

"You…You pervert." Weiss says angrily.

Kamijou raises his hands to surrender. "Wait, I can explain. I was just trying to help." He tries to explain frantically.

"Your attempt at helping was groping my chest?" She asks, not amused in any way. Yang looks about ready to laugh at him while Ruby seems to be enjoying the misunderstanding.

Kamijou backs away nervously. "Now that was a complete accident. You see, my ability uses my right hand. You didn't explode right?" He tries to explain.

Weiss's eyes widened in realisation. "Well even though whatever you did stopped me from losing more dust that doesn't excuse you groping my chest!" She says in huff, annoyed by his attempt to justify such a perverted action.

"Ah, right you have a point. This Kamijou apologises." He says bowing.

"If you two both truly wish to apologise then…" Weiss goes to say. Ruby looks hopeful she might finally make a new friend.

However Kamijou isn't lucky enough for things to go so smoothly and so prepares for a very tough punishment.

"Never, ever talk to me again." She finishes.

Ruby looks dejected, Kamijou sighs in relief. That isn't as bad as he thought it was going to be. As Yang goes to cheer Ruby up Professor Ozpin and Professor Goodwitch walk up to a microphone.

Professor Ozpin tests it a couple of times before beginning his speech.

"I'll keep this brief. You have travelled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills and when you have finished you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people but I look amongst you and…all I see is wasted energy in need of purpose, direction, you assume knowledge will free you of this but your time at this school will prove that knowledge will only take you so far." Ozpin says addressing the many students before him.

"It is up to you to take the first step." He finishes his speech and some of the students nearby shift uncomfortably. Yang looks motivated and ready for action. Ruby looks nervous but excited. Weiss looks calm but confident. He can't see Blake or Jaune but he hopes to see both of them again. Especially Blake, this Kamijou can certainly tell something is up with that girl.

Professor Goodwitch gives the students instructions before walking off with Ozpin.

"He seemed kind of…off," Yang says, suddenly disrupting the awkward silence surrounding the four of them.

"It's almost like he wasn't all there." Ruby agrees. "What do you think, Kamijou?"

Kamijou hums in agreement before he feels a shiver go down his spine.

"Onee-Sama!" He hears a girl with tawny hair that is tied into wavy pigtails with red bows securing each pigtail say. She's short, shorter than Ruby which is surprising. She must be around the same age as Ruby then.

Why is Ozpin so obsessed with making children attend his school? First him, then Ruby and now this girl. He then notices the girl she's talking to and suddenly tries to hide behind Yang who is the only one nearby taller than him.

Yang smirks at him, realising he's trying to hide.

(Fuck.)

The girl who he's so scared of is called Misaka Mikoto however he's far more familiar with the girl's ability than the girl herself. The girl, Misaka, is known as the Level 5: Railgun. She has short brown hair and brown eyes. She's a bit shorter than Kamijou but not by a lot.

She also has a cute flower hair clip but don't let that fool you she is a devil in disguise.

(Why is she here when she's the same age as Ruby…Oh…fuck you Ozpin and your obsession with bending the rules.)

However his feeble attempt at hiding fails far quicker than he expected.

"Idiot?" Misaka says as she walks past, noticing someone trying to hide behind a golden blonde haired girl.

"Hi…Biri-Biri…How are you?" Kamijou asks nervously.

The girl next to Misaka looks surprised by his nickname for the girl. "Onee-Sama how dare you let this…this…this APE call you that?" The girl asks and Kamijou rubs his head preparing for the obvious headache to come.

He can't see Misaka but he can tell she's pissed. How can he tell you may ask? Well it might have something to do with the full powered Railgun coming his way after a shout of "I told you not to call me that!"

BANG!

Shatter

The railgun disappears upon contact with his right hand. The accompanying sound of shattering glass is a small comfort to this Kamijou.

"Look Biri-Biri you want a fight right?" Kamijou asks, trying to diffuse the situation and get away from the many curious onlookers. He looks at Ruby whose eyes sparkle in excitement at seeing Imagine Breaker in use once again. Yang looks shocked while Weiss has a sudden look of shock and understanding.

He assumes that means she's figured out he can negate Semblances and Dust. He wants to keep his ability to scare and Erase Grimm as well as his ability to cut off Aura entirely a secret for a little while longer.

"Yes…Yes I do." Biri-Biri replies looking excited by the prospect of fighting him without him 'holding back' as she puts it. Her friend looks surprised to see her looking excited.

(Isn't she a battle addict though?)

"Then how about this, after the exam I'll fight you anytime you want if you just leave me alone to relax for the exam tomorrow, deal?" Kamijou suggests to the combat hungry girl.

"Deal." She says before grabbing his left hand and shaking it enthusiastically. "See you later idiot!" She exclaims as she goes to leave dragging her friend with her.

"Friend of yours?" Yang teases Kamijou.

Kamijou feels very tempted to punch her attractive face and then the reality of his deal with the Railgun hits him.

Sinking to his knees accepting his fate he murmurs "What rotten luck." Ruby pats his back sympathetically.

Weiss just looks surprised. "That was Misaka Mikoto, the infamous level five from academy city: The Railgun, how do you know her?" She demands an answer from him.

Ruby's eyes shine in excitement at the thought of being friends with a level five.

"A level five huh? She has quite the shocking personality." Yang jokes. Ruby and Kamijou cringe while Weiss just looks unimpressed.

"So?" Weiss asks pressing Kamijou for information.

"We come from the same city. That's about all there is to it." Kamijou replies, rubbing the back of his neck nervously.

"An idiot like you comes from academy city?" Weiss asks.

Kamijou nods. Academy city is a city south of the ruins of mountain Glenn. After the tragedy of Mountain Glenn where Grimm overran the city being built there a group of scientists vowed to find a way to destroy all Grimm.

When it became apparent that destroying them completely was impossible they decided to find a way to keep the Grimm away from civilization.

This is how academy city was created. It's well known for being technologically advanced and knowing more about Grimm than anywhere else on Remnant. While it doesn't have its own certified hunter academy, yet, it does have a wide range of schools and training academies such as A certain Hunter Academy and Tokiwadai Hunter Academy.

He attended A certain Hunter Academy while Misaka attended Tokiwadai Hunter Academy, thinking about it her friend probably went there too.

However another thing about Academy city is that it only allows students that have potential or an ability that benefits the city. For example his friend Tsuchimikado Motoharu has the ability of regeneration. As long as he still has aura he can regenerate from nothing. If in the event of him having little Aura it will heal the vital body parts first and then heal the rest later.

They keep him around despite only being a Level 0 because he does wonders for people who need transplants or blood. He fits into the people they keep around because they are useful.

He is only level zero because he cannot control his aura. As in that he has a lot of Aura but cannot consciously control it like other people. It's the same deal with him and his Imagine Breaker, kind of. He just doesn't have any Aura at all.

The Railgun, Misaka, is a level five and so fits into the talented category.

Anyway, back on topic. He was kept around because his ability does everything they hoped to accomplish and more. It scares Grimm away from him and completely erases them upon touch.

That's how an idiot like him managed to live in Academy City. Not like he'll tell her that. His ability works best the less people know about it.

Weiss looks like she's expecting an explanation. Like she deserved one.

"If you really want to know more then use all that money your family has got to find out more. Now if you excuse me, this Kamijou is starving." Kamijou says before walking off to find a food court or something. Yang and Ruby follow as Ruby finally introduces him to her sister.

"Oh so you're the Kamijou she's always talking about huh?" Yang says teasingly. She looks at Ruby and gives her a grin before nudging her.

"Siiisssss." Ruby says and Kamijou laughs.

(This…This is nice. I'd love to be on a team with these two.)

However fate has other plans for this poor Kamijou.

(Unknown)

(...When did it become so hard to think?)

Her thoughts run wild. Her heart races. Her many souls are fighting for control.

(Who am I?)

She sees a male and a female walk into her quarters. One is around her age with blond hair that has obviously been dyed red. He is also giant for his age. She supposes she'd think he was an adult if it wasn't for his baby face.

She coughs. The teen before her is smoking.

Then there is the black or purple haired girl before her. She can't tell which hair colour she has but it's one of the two. Her hair is tied into a ponytail by a white ribbon in a bow shape.

Anyway, she's either incredibly powerful or incredibly foolish. She's only wearing some small jean shorts and a white top that's been rolled up and tied just under her breasts covering them. She's also wearing a small black jacket with golden details.

This outfit leaves so much skin exposed that it's a surprise the Grimm haven't torn her in half yet.

The only form of protection she can see is the katana sheathed at her waist.

"I'm sorry." Is all the redhead in front her says before the world goes black.

(Who am I?)

She struggles to open her eyes.

(Ah yes…I am…I…am…Index.)

Her eyes snap open at the sight of two figures walking away.

(Who are they?)

She is Index. The second half of the Index Breaker project. If 'Imagine Breaker' is the power to destroy anything supernatural then she is the index that holds all the shortcuts to specific information. She is like a computer, able to memorise anything and everything.

She holds all the information currently known about Aura, Semblances, Grimm and souls. If she has any hope of escaping this fate, the fate of an old dusty book on a long forgotten bookshelf only to be taken off the shelf when needed then she must find 'Imagine Breaker'.

She knows little. Well that is a lie she knows a lot about Grimm and Souls but she knows nothing of what it is like to eat her favourite food or to spend time with her friends or go to school.

Sometimes it feels like she did know about those things but then what does she know. She's been here for years at this point.

If they call 'Imagine Breaker' the human with no soul because he simply does not have an aura then they call Index the creature with many souls.

She can't even remember how it was like to be human. To be the little girl still cowering in fear deep inside of her many souls. She doesn't deserve control of this body nor does anyone else inhabiting it.

The only one who deserves to live a life out of all of them is the only one not trying to take control.

(Index, I'll get us out of here.)

Her eyes shine as her semblance comes to life. The semblance of a past life perhaps. The semblance of the woman she was before she became 'Index.'

A portal opens in front of her. Her stomach rumbles as she passes out falling into the portal.

(Shirai Kuroko)

(I'm in heaven~)

Shirai Kuroko is so incredibly happy…wait.

Her Onee-Sama is currently holding her hand and leading her away from a group of very attractive girls and the Ape. She doesn't know the name of this Ape but she already knows she will hate him.

Why?

Because her Onee-Sama looks so happy being given the chance to fight the Ape. What's so special about some kid?

She gropes her Onee-Sama's boobs.

"Wahh?" Misaka yells in confusion before shocking Kuroko.

(Worth it!)

(Kamijou Touma)

Looking around he hopes to find and meet some new people just in case he doesn't end up on a team with either Yang or Ruby.

He spots the black haired girl from earlier and walks up to her.

"Hey, is anyone going to be sleeping here?" He asks, holding his sleeping bag, now dressed in his Pyjamas.

Her amber eyes stare at him for a moment. Like she's trying to identify whether he's a threat or not.

"No, you can sleep there if you want, just don't disturb me." The girl replies before going back to reading her book.

Kamijou settles down in the space next to the girl. "So what are you reading?" He asks, although he is far too broke to afford reading books he has enjoyed a good book on occasion.

"Why do you want to know?" She asks, answering his question with a question.

(That is a tough question to answer.)

He spends a moment thinking about it. She seems quite happy that he's thinking about it.

"Well for one, I want to get to know you. I mean I'd like to get to know others as well but you seem interesting to me I guess." Kamijou replies.

The girl looks at Kamijou for a moment. He can see a tinge of red in her cheeks when he says she seems interesting. She must be embarrassed or something.

"Blake." She says suddenly.

"Pardon?" He asks, having not heard her properly.

"Blake, That's my name." She replies before going back to her book.

Kamijou smiles.

(Success!)

She seems like a bit of a loner. The shy and awkward type that prefers to be alone. He respects that.

"I'm Kamijou Touma, you can call me Kamijou." He says before turning over to go to sleep leaving the girl to read her book. Sadly the girl did not get much more reading done because soon after he turned over Ruby and Yang walked up.

He tries not to listen in on their conversation but the way Blake described the book she's reading resonated with him somehow. Not like on a spiritual level or anything, he's not having an identity crisis. Or well he hopes he isn't. It's just something about someone having multiple souls and fighting for control of the body makes his right hand ache.

(I'm just tired. It's probably nothing.)

(Kamijou Touma) (Sunday September 2nd.)

His eyes drift open slowly to the sound of an annoying red head bothering a poor guy with black hair and pink eyes.

(What time is it?)

He groans in annoyance and he hears Blake murmuring to herself about going to get a shower before getting dressed. He thinks that's a good idea and so grabbing his stuff he goes to find a shower.

After failing to find a shower he gets changed in a nearby bathroom before eating some pancakes for breakfast. He goes to find his locker and holsters his trusty weapon, the Dragon Canon.

(I should really change the name. It's very…Over the top, extreme, stupid and many other things.)

Kamijou hears a voice over some speakers.

"Would all first year students please report to Beacon cliff for initiation. Again all first year students report to Beacon cliff immediately."

He ends up walking there with Blake. There isn't much talking between the two but it wasn't an awkward silence.

As they approach the cliff he sees 20 stone square things. He sees Weiss and a girl with crimson red hair and emerald green eyes standing next to each other. Then there's the duo from earlier. The talkative redhead and the silent raven haired boy.

He also notices Misaka and her friend over at the far end. They must have gotten here first.

As he and Blake each stand on one of the stone pieces he notices that Yang, Ruby and Jaune are only just now arriving. Once everyone has arrived Professor Ozpin clears his throat.

"For years you have trained to become warriors and today your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald forest." Professor Ozpin says and before even giving the hopefuls a chance to absorb what was said Professor Goodwitch speaks up.

"Now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumours about the assignment of teams, well allow us to put an end to your confusion." The attractive Professor explains "Each of you will be given teammates today."

He can hear Ruby begin to freak out. Blake looks nervous. He nods at her encouragingly. It's then he realises she's not nervous about the test. Her calm look wasn't a bluff.

What he means is she's confident in her practical skills. her social skills however–not so much.

(I'd love to have confidence like that.)

"These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon, so it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well." Professor Ozpin advises.

"That being said, the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years." Professor Ozpin explains.

Kamijou swears he can hear glass shattering and for once it wasn't coming from his right hand. He looks over at Ruby who has begun to freak out.

"After you've partnered up make your way to the northern end of the forest, you will meet opposition along the way." Professor Ozpin continues to explain. "Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path or you will die."

A couple of the examinees look uncomfortable at the mention of their deaths. Kamijou wonders why considering that was a risk one should consider before thinking of becoming a Hunter.

"You will be monitored and graded for the duration of the initiation but our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics; each pair must choose one and return to the top of the cliff." He continues to explain and he can tell everyone is finally getting excited. He can tell that this boringly long explanation is almost over.

"We will regard that item as well as your standing and grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?" He asks after finishing his explanation.

"Uhm sir…" Jaune tries to ask before Professor Ozpin interrupts with.

"Good now take your positions."

Everyone gets ready. Kamijou considers his options. He could use one of the few gravity dust bullets he has on him but that would mean he'd be screwed later.

He could use the much cheaper wind dust bullets he has on him and then turn his gun into its grappling hook form. That works.

(Note to self buy a parachute or something.)

He sees Biri-Biri being flung forward before she disappears off into the distance. Soon it's Blake's turn and she gives him a cute little wave before being flung off as well.

In the next second he's flung up in the air.

"WOOOOOO!" He yells. It's so exhilarating! He can't help the massive smile that spreads onto his face. With the wind whipping across his face he feels like he's on top of the world.

Then Gravity kicks in and he comes to the sudden realisation he's falling. His left hand grabs a wind bullet and loads it into the gun.

He fires downwards before being flipped due to the force of the wind. Pressing the dragon head on his gun it shifts into a grappling hook and he fires it around a branch.

He rolls on the ground to soften his impact. He still groans in pain. Unlike all the other hopefuls he doesn't have an aura to protect himself.

It's time to get going!
