He thought back to the Meowth finding its way to a stream earlier for water. The Zubat find their way through the cave despite not even having eyes. He sent Dux to Professor Oak for now and caught a Zubat, certain it'll help.
The light of Abby's flame was just enough to keep Zubat visible, as Red went to the Pokémon Center, he noticed several people arguing with one another. Deciding to leave when he hears even the local Nurse Joy gives a short-tempered "Hey! Unless it's urgent! Get out!"
But on the way out of Lavender, it starts raining, again! Red looked for shelter, but only an old man actually let him in, Red seemed to recognize him "Mr. Fuji? I haven't seen you since your last visit to Professor Oak!"
"Yes, I have spent more than a few years in this town, doing research. I see you're on your journey as of late!" Said Mr. Fuji
After quickly introducing his Pokémon, Red told him how the rest of the town was acting
Mr. Fuji looks out the window, Red joining him "You see Red… Pokémon are like all things in nature, we know a lot but don't know even more… this is especially the case with Ghost Pokémon. The tricksters are believed to be Pokémon or even people, who have passed away, and they're hard to study, with their powers of illusion, without the latest of technology, they can choose to just, be invisible, or even alter their appearance to be monstrous!"
"Is that why everyone in this town is so mean? Because the Ghost Pokémon made them paranoid?" Red asked
"Particulally. All because of Pokémon Tower… the largest cemetery for Pokémon, until recently, my personally trained Marrowak acted as a guardian, but the town was overrun by Team Rocket! Looking for the Pokéflute!" He looks up to the sky "Marrowak… didn't make it… now the spirits are restless…"
"We can't see them! But Zubat and I don't need vision!" Red says "I'll try to figure out what the ghosts want!"
Red enters the tower, surrounded by spirits, Zubat tries protecting him but possessed women keep attacking

Zubat sensed the ghosts, helping Red defeat them! Ending the possession! But as he reached the top…
A massive monster, yellow eyes surrounded Red… bathing him in eerie light "Zubat! I know it's an illusion! You-" Zubat suddenly fainted… Red couldn't see without Zubat…
