Red woke, tied up, he had no idea how long he'd been here… he saw others kidnapped, treated as hostages, and a few already dead from neglect…
"They got you?" Said one of them, Red recognized him, the paleontologist he saved, all the way in Mt. Moon!
"It's over… down here there's no Pokémon but those owned by Rocket…" said a little girl
Red thought back to when he first met Professor Oak "This world is inhabited far and wide by creatures known as Pokémon…" he quoted "For some Pokémon are pets… some train them professionally… as for my friend, he studies them as a profession…"
Oak comes to Celadon, he hears Red call him, "I know it's scary…" he tells a Rattata, it sniffs out Red to Celadon Game Corner… it backs up as if it had a flashback!
Police sirens went off! A Rocket Grunt stumbled to his feet, panic in his eyes as he ran from a crime scene, vanishing into the distance!
Left behind, little Rattata trembles, its fur matted and bruised, thin lines of whip marks visible along its back. The small Pokémon flinched at every sound, shrinking away as the police approached.
Red knelt down, slowly extending his hand. "Hey… it's okay now."
Rattata's eyes darted between Red and the path the Grunt fled down. Finally, with a hesitant step, it inches toward Red, sniffing his palm. For the first time, its tail gave the faintest wag.
Red smiled gently. "You wanna come with me?"
Reconnecting with reality, it answered that question, literally running from Team Rocket and informing Oak! The Professor battles Giovanni, disrespecting the rules just to crush Rocket! Using 5 Pokémon at once!
A Tauros! A Nidoking! A Wigglytuff! An Arcanine! An Exeggutor!
Giovanni doing the same! A Dugtrio! A Kangaskhan! A Nidoqueen! A Nidoking! A Rhydon!
Rattata ran across the ground! Other beaten Rattata and Raticate come to join! The other hostages have as much hope as Red! They've come to saveus! Noble, simple rats!
Red's Rattata dug through the metal door and an ocean of teeth destroyed their restraints! Hearing the commotion, Rocket Grunts rush inside! Only to be overwhelmed by the rats! Red gets everyone out, and before long the police raid the area! Giovanni escaped in such a hurry he forgot the Silph Scope and the Helix Fossil, Red taking both!
Cutting to later "I knew you'd look for me, Professor! Thanks for saving me!"
"I'd do this for anyone Red! We promise we'll continue the search for Jay and Abby!" Oak says, Officer Jenny silently nodding in agreement.
"I know where to go next…" Red said, picking up Flareon and flying to Lavender Town on Jas… he gave Flareon a proper burial… "You are my flame… and though we fell to Giovanni, we now rise again… rest well little buddy…"
