Red was approached by Professor Oak, "Ah, Red! You and Blue made quite the stir! I feel the need to reward the both of you, after all, you've freed Kanto of a menace!"
"I don't need a reward Professor! I'm just glad I beat those abusers! I hope their Pokémon find good homes…" Red commented
"Which is why you deserve this…" he produced a purple Pokéball with an M and two red spots "I was sent this by Silph, it can capture any Pokémon without fail. I guess they had to keep it away from Team Rocket somehow."
Red pondered as he grabbed it, what to catch…? He thought back to Bird Keeper Chester and his Dodrio, the tale of Zapdos! He thanked the Professor and flew to Cerulean, going to the Power Plant!
Rhyhorn helped Red best the weaker electric types, in the far wall, Red spotted Zapdos! Its feathers were sharp as needles, eyes of a predator, crackling with electricity! He tossed the master ball!
Red flew to Pallet, looking to see how Oak felt about his new arrival, but upon arriving, he saw Zapdos on a rampage! The Pokémon at Oak's lab trying to stop it! Dux and Zubat flew up to engage in aerial combat but were fried with lightning! Exeggcute and Paras tried to put it to sleep, Red sending out Cabbage and Drowzee to do the same, but Zapdos crushed them too! Geodude stepped up, immune to electricity, Red liked the idea and sent out Rhyhorn! Zapdos used Drill Peck to fall both, only noticing after that Big Dig the Raticate tunneled the others to safety… a Thunder brought the rat down! Red sent out Jas, striking with Quick Attack, finally felling the bird!
When Zapdos rested, Red was horrified, he had attempted to command a proud legendary without proving himself, and now 9 Pokémon are dead…
Red had Zapdos remain in Oak's lab for now, taking the fallen to Pokémon Tower…
