"That's it, you are a Pokémon Master! I still can't believe my dragons lost to you, Red! You're now the Pokémon League champion! …Or, you would have been, but you have one more challenge ahead. You have to face another trainer! His name is… Blue! He beat the Elite Four before you. He is the real Pokémon League Champion!" Lance smiled "You're a trainer with considerable skill! If you can beat me, I know you'll give him the fight of his life!"

Red with confidence, healed his party with everything in his bag, and walked forward! Blue looked at him "Hey! I was looking forward to seeing you, Red! My rival should be strong to keep me sharp! While working on my Pokédex, I looked all over for powerful Pokémon! Not only that, I assembled teams that would beat any Pokémon type! And now! I am the Pokémon League Champion!"

"You've kept me sharp too!" Red told him "I've traveled across the land, journeyed far and wide! And I'm ready to show you the Pokémon I have, the power inside every last one of them!"

The ref takes his place "Champion Blue's rein has been met with its very first challenger! Red! His longstanding rival! May the two titans of Pallet Town begin!"

Blue brought out his Pidgeot, Red did the same! The birds did battle, they appeared evenly matched, until Blue's began to glow! It unleashed a devastating Sky Attack! Jas in critical condition, is returned to her Pokéball "Good fight…" he sent out his next "Go Jordan!"

Jordan's Hydro Pump misses, and Pidgeot charges up another Sky Attack! An Ice Beam brings the bird down just as it flies toward Jordan! "Pidgeot is unable to battle! Lapras wins!" Next, Blue brings in Alakazam! Neither side has an advantage! Psychic! Ice Beam! "It's a double KO! This is a draw!"

Red sensed it… Champion Blue is about to use Exeggutor, in Jas! Blue in arrogance assumes he can finish the weakened bird, attacking with Barrage! Jas was not intimidated though, and she began to glow!

"I can't believe it! The challenger's Pidgeot has learned Sky Attack after only seeing it once!" Announced the ref, the attack goes off and Exeggutor is down "Exeggutor is unable to battle! Pidgeot wins!"

Red sensed it… Champion Blue is about to use Rhydon! Red switches in his Nidoking! Massive blows are traded! Fonzie's Fissure misses! Rhydon goes for Horn Drill, but before it connects, a Surf fires! Rhydon falls to its knees, but refuses to give up!

Horn Drill and Fissure hit at the same time! "It's a double KO! This is a draw!"

Blue sensed it… Pokémon Trainer Red is about to use Venomoth! Just after ATV comes out, he sends in Arcanine! Toxic! A Fire Blast hits but the Venomoth survives! ATV tries its best to fly away! To avoid Arcanine! But it's too fast, the Dragonite plan won't work!

ATV's basic attacks won't work! He has to take the gamble! Psywave! "Arcanine is unable to battle! Venomoth wins!" Announces the ref

Blue looks at his last Pokémon, Red has him on the ropes, will it be enough? Memories flood of when he first met Squirtle, of every battle they fought! He looks up at the stands! His sister Daisy, the only woman he can imagine when he pictures a mother, his grandfather, his hero and inspiration! "BLASTOISE! IT'S ALL UP TO YOU!"

Blastoise is out! Red throws out Pokémon after Pokémon, ATV, Omastar, Jas, none make it, declared unable to battle! Red didn't want to rely on Zapdos… "I have one left…" he looks up at the stands! Sammy and Benny, the kind bug catchers he met, Oak and Fuji, his mentors since before he was a trainer, his mother, who always believed in him… they're all watching! "AND ONE IS ALL I NEED!"

Red sends out AA! Its feathers were sharp as needles, eyes of a predator, crackling with electricity! But Blastoise was not intimidated… both boys, despite having the skill to command silently, are so excited they can't help but shout out their final attacks!

"BLIZZARD!"

"THUNDER!"

Both are direct hits! Both fall with a thud! "I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! THIS COULD BE KANTO'S FIRST CHAMPION MATCH DRAW! UNLESS ONE OF THEM GETS UP!" AA tries to get up, and Blastoise tries to get up! AA gets up, Blastoise falls back down! "BLASTOISE IS UNABLE TO BATTLE! RED FROM PALLET TOWN IS THE NEW CHAMPION!"

"NO! That can't be! You beat my best! After all that work to become League champ? My reign is over already?" Blue tried to get Blastoise to get up, but it fell back down! Blue reluctantly puts Blastoise back in its Pokéball "Why? Why did I lose? I never made any mistakes raising my Pokémon…"

Oak comes down from the stands, and hugs Blue "I'm so, proud of you!" Blue cries in his arms! "Blue! Do you understand why you lost? You focused too much on the numbers… Red simply caught the Pokémon he loved, his bond is the true reason he won!"

The embrace ends, Oak turning to Red "Red! So, you won! Congratulations! You're the new Pokémon League champion! You've grown up so much since you first left with Charmander! Red, you have come of age! You understand that your victory was not just your own doing! The bond you share with your Pokémon is marvelous! Red! Come with me!"

Red was led up the building's final set of stairs, to the 6th floor, outside the window he felt as though he could see all of Kanto! He thought of his journey… thought of Abby, his starter, Jay, his first catch, stolen by Team Rocket… thought of Rick, his Flareon who died fighting evil, sticking by his side beyond the grave… thought of Bloody Sunday and his time with its victims… thought of the 6 in his party…

He and Oak reached a room "Congratulations, Red! This floor is the Pokémon Hall of Fame. Pokémon League champions are honored for their exploits here! Their Pokémon are also recorded in the Hall of Fame! Red! You have endeavored many hardships to become the new League Champion! Congratulations!"

"I wish I could register more than six Pokémon…" Red gazed upon the computer "I've met so many wonderful Pokémon on my adventure…" he began to tear up as he registered his team… "And I'll never forget any of them…"

After both boys and their Pokémon rested, they immediately competed again, racing back to Pallet! Their league competition is over! After all of this, they're still the best of friends!
