Chapter 16- Shane returns
Philip's POV
Waking up to you as my fiancee is heaven. Your blonde hair flowing in your face, I am studying the curves of your body. You get up and take a warm bath. You pull on a pair of jeans, a black long sleeve shirt, and a pair of converse shoes. We slept in all morning. It's probably around lunchtime.
"Where are you going?" I said, pulling you back into bed.
"I was thinking about going downstairs to the restaurant to get something to eat," she says looking into my blue eyes.
"I could call up for room service," I offered.
"I sort of want to move around," she says, clearly wanting some space.
"Sure, why don't you go downstairs and order? I'll meet you after I have showered," I said, kissing her cheek.
"That will be perfect," she responds, grabbing her purse, cell phone, and room key. You always have that phone. Are you using it to contact Shane? I've checked your email, Facebook messages and he is blocked from texting or calling. So I know deep down you haven't talked to him, but I worry. I don't even want you out of my sight. I get dressed as quickly as possible walking to the restaurant. That's when I see you sitting there looking beautiful, talking with Shane. Why in the hell is he here? He is in his pair of jeans in a gray shirt.
"Andrea, how can you treat me like this? You haven't called me or visited me. Now you are all the way in New York doing what?" he says, moving closer to you.
"We broke up, Shane, that's what happens when you break up. You stop talking to each other," she says getting up from the table.
"You love me Andrea," He says following you outside of the restaurant.
"No, I am scared of you. How did you find me here?" she says, rushing into the lobby. I assume she is looking for the hotel manager or hopes he will stop with more people around. I need to stop him, but I also want to see how she reacts to him. I want her to pick me.
"Okay, I put a GPS on your phone and tracked you," he admits, still following you. I watched from a distance, knowing I was going to stop him soon.
"Are you crazy? A GPS on my phone? You are stalking me," she says as he moves closer to you.
"No, Andrea, I love you. And I know you love me too because there is no way you could have been with me like that if you didn't," Shane responds, his arms actually on my fiancee.
"I did love you, Shane, but you didn't want to marry me. I am engaged now, you shouldn't be here. You are too late," she says, looking into his brown eyes.
"Don't marry him. Marry me. You know how bad I want to trade places with him, because I have been so lonely without you. I know I messed up," he says, trying to hold her close to his chest. For a moment, Andrea allows him to hold her. My stomach hurts as I see him holding my girl in his arms. She sees me walking up. Her blue eyes lock on mine.
"I am going to marry Philip. And you shouldn't be here. Leave me alone, Shane," she says, pushing him off.
I finally walk up to her and stand between the two of them. I had seen enough and knew it was time to put a stop to whatever Shane was trying to do.
"Come on Andrea. Just take a walk with me, and if you still want me to go, I will go," he says, looking at my fiancee with longing eyes.
"You need to leave, Andrea doesn't want to go with you. Do you Andrea?" I said, letting her know I am there. You know you are mine. You can't go with him.
I am shocked he followed us all the way to New York. I hadn't realized how determined this cop was until this moment.
"I told you to go away, Shane. I am here with Philip. We're in love," she says, walking straight into my arms.
" What is this? This is Shane, the guy who never takes you out on a date. You heard Andrea. You should leave my hotel," I said, holding Andrea in arms in front of him. Looking at Andrea's face, I saw that she still cared about him, but she was also embarrassed and frightened.
"She is never going to love you. Not the way she loves me. It's not going to happen," Shane yells before walking off.
"Someone call security and make sure he leaves the hotel," I said to the first employee I saw. "Yes sir," a middle-aged brown-haired lady responds.
"You ok? You sure?" I asked Andrea, who had tears in her eyes.
"I am fine. I do want to go upstairs and get room service after all," she says, completely shaken.
"Let's go back upstairs. I'll order the food and you can rest until you feel better," I said, watching Shane getting escorted out of the hotel.
What made him think he could come to New York and put his hands on my fiancee? I wouldn't be letting Andrea out of my sight again. I would have to be more careful. Say I came down there ten minutes later. Would she be walking the streets of New York with Shane? Thinking about getting back together with him? I couldn't allow him to take you away. I needed to move our wedding up. We go upstairs in the elevator in complete silence. My arm wrapped around you as we went upstairs. I pulled down the covers, you got into the enormous bed, laying down.
"I still want to go see Wicked on Broadway tonight with Amy and Penny," she says suddenly, seeming weak.
"We will. Don't worry about what will happen downstairs. I am going to work on tighter security for you. This won't happen again," I said with my hands in her blonde hair.
"I didn't ask Shane to come here. I want to marry you and be Penny's step-mom, I meant everything I said last night at the Empire State building," she says, tears still in her eyes.
"I know. You've told me I am the one you want and I believe you. I am forty years old. You know I am not playing games. I want to marry you as soon as possible. I mean it. I would marry you today," I said, wiping her tears with the back of my hand.
"I would love to do that. Go elope today and make our family official," she says, looking into my blue eyes.
"We should get married then. We could fly to Paris tonight," I said, not wanting to give her any time to rethink the situation.
"That would be lovely, but we have already started wedding planning. I know my mom will want to be there. We've already brought the flowers and cake. Amy and I have planned so much of it already. My cousin Angela is going to be a bridesmaid. We could move up the wedding if you'd like," she says, making an arrangement.
"I will call the wedding planner. We could get married on May third and go on our honeymoon before your graduation on May tenth. We can fly back in time," I said, only a little frustrated she wouldn't marry me today.
"That is in four weeks. Do you think our wedding planner, Kris, can get everything planned by then?" she says, looking a little concerned.
"Yes, everything will be just the way you want it. If you pay enough money, people will do whatever you 've pretty much planned everything right?" I asked desperately.
"The music, venue, bridesmaid dresses, cake. Bridesmaids and flower girl dresses have all been ordered. I'll need a photographer, hair and makeup, and my wedding dress. You'll need a tux. I'll need to fly my parents, sister and cousin down for the wedding," she says, thinking of everything that will need to be done.
"You can look for a dress here tomorrow. We will have it shipped to Georgia. I know a skilled photographer. I'll fly your family here for the wedding and book them a hotel room if needed," I said, solving all her problems.
"I suppose that will be everything," she says, thinking about getting married sooner than she imagined.
"So we are getting married on May third?" I asked.
"Yes. You are absolutely right. We should start our family as soon as possible," she says, taking my hand.
"I'll get the room service. We will eat lunch. Then get ready to go see Wicked. I am going to give you everything. Amy too. I'll pay for her college in New York," I promised her.
"Wow, you would do that?" She says, getting up from her bed.
"Yes, I would. Once you are my wife, Amy will be my sister. I want to help you get everything you want. I know how important Amy's education is to you," I said, taking a deep breath.
I never wanted to use blackmail, but I saw the way you look at Shane. You would never look at me the same. Still, I want you to be my wife. I hated Shane Walsh for showing up here and getting inside your head again. But now you knew I planned on paying for Amy's tuition to Julliard, I couldn't see you walking away.
There is a knock at the door, interrupting our conversation.
"That is the food. After we eat, I have a few phone calls to make and check on some things at the hotel. Work stuff," I said, getting to answer the door.
She nods silently and helps me carry in the trays of food.
"I may go to the pool with Penny and Amy while you work," she says, taking a few bites of salad.
"That sounds like an excellent idea," I said, eating a few bites of my burger. I enjoy the quiet moment with the two of us, Amy has been spending us both pictures of Penny. She is already calling her Aunt Amy.
"I'll be back as soon as possible," I said, kissing her on the cheek. .As I leave Amy and Penny immediately show up, ready to go. In a few hours, I will go to the pool and join them.
I have already set up Andrea to make an appointment for her at a wedding shop. Soon, I will be getting married. Andrea has to know this is her fate.
