Chapter 26—A New Year Ahead
Olivia and Fitz had spotted Sparks sitting at the table next to the podium marked with a #1. As they made their way to the table, Olivia was taking in the sights of the beautiful banquet hall. Through two other open sliding doors, there was a separate area for the bar. The bar was gigantic, and it seemed to need a room to itself. It also had its own double door entrance.
Olivia felt Fitz's hand on her back, and she had calmed down a bit as he rubbed up and down just to comfort her. She noticed movement on her left side and saw a young, beautiful black woman coming towards them. Her eyes read admiration and Liv whispered to Fitz, "Looks like the first of many of your admirers are coming to talk to you."
The young lady was dressed in a beautiful gold long sleeved pant suit. The pantsuit wouldn't have looked good on anyone else except for this woman. Liv felt herself put her arm around Fitz's waist as if to claim him, just in case this woman tried something.
A gorgeous smile appeared on her face as she made it one step closer to the couple. Olivia noticed Keith Michaels, the second basemen for the Lake Monsters, sitting at the table the woman excused herself from. He was watching the scene unfold with obvious curiosity.
When the woman completely ignored Fitz, Olivia was a bit startled. "Oh my God, I cannot believe it." She stopped directly in front of Olivia. "You're Olivia Pope." Her eyes were glistening, and she put out her hand for a shake.
When Olivia gently took her hand, the woman introduced herself as Samiya Hutchins. "I am engaged to Keith Michaels. He's the…."
"Second basement on the team", Olivia finished. "Do I know you?"
"No, but you have inspired me in more ways than you can ever imagine. I was a senior at NYU when you were named CEO of Financially Yours. May I add the first black female CEO on Wall Street. That immediately made up my mind to follow my dream of becoming an entrepreneur and now, because of you I am my own CEO and millionaire having a women's moisturizing and clothing company. It was your feature in Forbes magazine that made me realize I can do it. Representation matters and you representing young black women everywhere, did so much for so many. I will not keep you any longer, I just wanted to say thank you and let you know you truly are an inspiration."
Liv looked at Fitz, astonished, and Fitz just nodded with a little shrug. If he talked now he probably would have said "nothing I didn't know." That was the look on his face. Liv turned back to Samiya. "Well, it has been an honor meeting you, and I am sure we will see more of each other. When is the wedding?"
"Oh, yeah," Samiya rolled her eyes in embarrassment. "The wedding will be next November. The first weekend in November. You're definitely getting an invite."
Liv nodded, flattered. "Well, then, I will definitely be there. Continued success to you and to your company. If there is ever anything I can do to help, feel free to reach out." Fitz reached in his inside pocket and gave Samiya a card with his contact information. Liv reached out and pulled her into a gentle hug and she heard a little squeal come from the young lady.
"Thank you so much, Ms. Pope." She turned to Fitz, "Mr. Grant" and she walked away with the same smile she approached them with as she put the card inside her small purse. Olivia noticed Keith give her a loving kiss on her forehead and put his hand up as a thank you gesture to Fitz and Olivia. They both nodded and headed to their table.
"So much for my admiration, huh?" Fitz said with a smile. Liv just nudged him in the stomach, it's as if he knew how special that exchange was for Olivia.
Two Shot had found his way to the table, an empty chair next to him. Sparks and him both stood up when they approached and Olivia noticed two empty chairs at the table, one next to Sparks and one next to Two Shot.
"Don't tell me I am the only woman at the table tonight." Olivia's shoulders slumped a bit.
"Would that really be so bad?" Two Shot looked at her. "I mean, who is better looking than me here tonight? You should be so honored to be sitting at the same table with me." He pulled at the collars of his jacket as if to prove how cool he was.
Olivia burst out laughing. "Oh, you got jokes, huh? I am with the best-looking guy here, sorry Sammy."
Fitz put is hand out as Two Shot hugged his friend. The same exchange with Sparks and he told Fitz Letecia and Two Shot's date went to the ladies' room, they would be back in a minute.
Fitz looked at Olivia and nodded. It was at this time he was going to pull Sparks and Two Shot aside to talk. "Would you like anything to drink, Livvie?"
"Just a glass of Merlot." Fitz and his two buddies headed to the bar together.
Liv saw two women approaching the table, and figured one was Letecia. She spotted her right away, the wedding ring and gigantic diamond engagement ring giving it away.
Liv stood up and Letecia made her way over and pulled her right into a hug. "You must be Olivia. Devon has told me so much about you and his description of beautiful didn't quite fit. You are stunning girl; you do not know how happy I am for Fitz. I am Letecia, obviously, Devon's wife, and Monica", she turned and put her hand towards the other woman, "is here with Samuel."
The ladies began talking instantly having a liking to one another. Letecia wasted no time to pull out pictures of their two boys. Olivia told her how much Fitz had mentioned them. They were each a spitting image of their parents. The older one looking exactly like Sparks, and the younger like Letecia. They both had mischievous smiles about them, but they were as handsome as can be with gorgeous smooth, light brown skin and the most exquisite hazel eyes.
"Your boys are gorgeous, my goodness. I am sure those pictures don't even do them justice. I can't wait to meet them." Olivia was still looking at the pictures.
"Well, we do hope to have you and Fitz to the house in Maine soon, before the season begins. It would be wonderful." Letecia looked up at the bar. She pointed so Olivia could look. "You see that?"
Olivia looked. All she saw were three guys having a conversation. It didn't look like anything out of the ordinary to Liv. "What am I missing?" She asked.
"I have known Fitz for seven years now, I have never seen him glowing like he is tonight. I haven't even seen him close up yet to see the glow. What have you done to him?" Letecia nudged Liv.
Olivia shrugged. "We just really hit it off. And", she looked over at him again, this time making eye contact. "He's got something I can work with." Liv laughed and waved at him.
"Well, girl, even at our wedding, he wasn't that much a glow, and forget after he came back from Iraq. If I saw him three times since then, it's been a lot, and he was just dreadful. I am so glad he is happy."
Liv turned to Monica. "So how long have you known Tw…I mean Samuel?" She didn't want to call him Two Shot remembering the story of how he got his nickname.
"We met in Atlanta during the winter meetings. I am an agent for a few different players in the league. We have gone out a few times, and, well here I am. I was surprised he asked me to come with him, and it's ok, he told me all about being called Two Shot." She laughed. "Except, this is my fifth shot, so maybe something may be brewing."
"Wow," Letecia said. "Never mind maybe, that's definitely. I haven't known him to date a girl, well woman, because you are a woman, more than twice. I need the scoop, Monica." All three were laughing now.
Monica went off telling them about her dates and time spent with Two Shot. It was obvious something was brewing and judging by what Fitz told him about Two Shot, it looked like he may have met the woman of his dreams.
They were laughing and sharing stories, when Liv looked over to the guys. They all had two drinks in their hands, ready to come back, but Two Shot was whispering into Fitz's ear. By the looks of it, whatever he was saying was serious, because Fitz pulled back and stared at him. Two Shot then nodded, and patted Fitz on the shoulder. It was a "remain calm" type of pat.
As they walked towards the table, Liv noticed a gentleman that was standing right behind them as they were having a discussion. He stared at them walk away and then quickly turned his head when he noticed Liv was watching him.
"Ok, Ok, which one of us is being laughed at?" Sparks looked around the able at the three ladies and they laughed a bit harder.
"Maybe it's all three of you, or maybe it's just you baby," Letecia leaned over and planted a kiss on his cheek.
Two Shot sat down, handing Monica the drink and turned to Liv. "Trivia time, Miss Baseball, you ready?"
Liv was taking a sip of her wine and she acknowledged him with a nod. Fitz leaned over and whispered in her ear. "I tried to tell him it was useless, you would win, and if you do, I get a special prize, right Livvie." His hand was on her kneed slowly making its way up to her inner thigh. She swallowed the wine in her mouth fast, as his voice in her ear and his hand on her thigh was driving her insane.
She leaned towards him and whispered back. "You keep doing this" and she grabbed his hand, "and whispering with your sexy voice in my ear, I am going to tell Two Shot to shove the trivia up his ass as I have a man to take care of, and we are out of here, Mister." Fitz's hand quickly stopped, and his smirk said it all.
"Go get him, Tigress." And he purred like a cat.
"What can I embarrass you with tonight Mr. Sammy?" Liv loved calling him Sammy. He smiled childishly every time she did. He reminded of her a brother she never had the chance to have.
"Table four, gray suit, black silk tie. What was his on base percentage last year, and the year before?"
Liv looked at him, after looking at the gray suit, squinting her eyes. "Is this a trick question?"
Two Shot crossed his eyebrows. "What do you mean?" he picked up his beer bottle and took a sip.
"First of all, that's Axel Roberts. He's a left-handed pitcher, last year being his first year with the Lake Monsters. Since he wasn't in the rotation during any of the interleague games, he didn't bat, making his on base percentage a big fat zero." Liv stopped took a sip of her wine and looked back at the gray suit while finishing.
"The year before, he was with Kansas City Royals. He reached base because he batted that year in interleague play, but only several times, two a most, so his percentage was roughly just below 200. Anything else you need help with? Would you like to know how many Yankees have hit home runs off him the past two years? Or I can just give you the Yankees batting average against him, but that would be embarrassing to say in a room full of Lake Monster fans." Liv picked up her wine glass one last time and finished it.
"Hot damn, girl, you know your stuff. Fitz, hire her. Pay her top tier, she becomes a scout tomorrow."
Fitz laughed. "Not a chance, I am keeping her close to me, and besides, she would never turn on her pinstripes, she wouldn't be honest with us."
"He has a point." Liv said.
In her conversation with Two Shot, she hadn't noticed Sparks had gone to refill the drinks. Liv was going on her second glass of wine, and as she was taking another sip, she noticed the same gentlemen that was lingering behind the guys when they were talking.
"Fitz, do you know that man?" Liv nodded towards the entrance of the barroom.
Fitz shook his head, "no, I haven't seen him before. Two Shot? You know him?"
Liv watched as Two Shot looked at him, although he said he hadn't seen him, Liv saw something in his eyes. If you asked her, it was fear, but he played it cool. To change the subject, he put his arm around Monica and turned to Fitz.
"So, I need to thank you. I saw the way you looked at Olivia, I felt the love you two have for one another, and I would like you to be the first to know, Monica and I are now an official couple. No more questions about a two shot for me. I am taken."
Monica put her head on his shoulder smiling, and Liv could see they both genuinely liked each other. If her and Fitz made that much of an impression, that made her heart happy. Fitz was everything plus more. She didn't know how much more he could do that would make her fall more in love with him.
Fitz held up his scotch glass to the middle of the table. "Here's to the New Year of love, happiness, and a Vermont Lake Monsters World Series win." They all raised their glasses and clinked as Liv said, "love and happiness, but that's all."
The music suddenly stopped and the microphone at the podium began buzzing. Liv looked over to see a young man standing at the podium and she recognized him as Seth Johnson, the president of the organization.
"Good evening, we are just a half hour out from the ringing in of a new year. Thank you all for coming to this Lake Monsters annual celebration. I know many of you are eager to go on your much deserved vacations. Spring training will be here before you know it. We have some new additions to the team, some acquisitions we made over the winter meetings.
I also would like to introduce to you one of the tri owners of the team, Mr. Fitzgerald Grant the Third." The crowd began clapping as Fitz stood up and waved. "Mr. Grant has been unable to attend the function the past five years, so we are very happy to have him here tonight. He has a few announcements he would like to make. His leadership and his contributions to the team has made it the success it has grown to be the past few years. So, happy new year to all, and I give the mic over to Mr. Grant."
Fitz leaned over and gave Liv a gentle kiss on the cheek. He whispered in her ear, "I love you Livvie," as he stood up and made his way to the podium.
The applause was just dying down, most of the guests standing and as Fitz got to the mic he signaled for them sit. His smile alone could light up the room and as Liv watched him in pure admiration for her man, she didn't think he needed to say a word. His looks said it all.
"Good evening, everyone and happy new year. I won't be long, as the new year is approaching. As Mr. Johnson said, I am Fitzgerald Grant, one of three owners of the team. The other two you are very familiar with, Devon Litman and Samuel Murray. I cannot thank them enough for being the sole care takers of the success of the team. They truly deserve all the recognition for the past few years, really, I just paid your salaries."
That got a roar of laughter from the crowd as Fitz looked at Liv and gave a wink. When the laughter died down, he continued.
"The partners and executive board met over winter meetings, and we did make a few acquisitions we think will do nothing but strengthen the team. We have acquired for two minor leaguers, Rob Matos, starting pitcher from Arizona and for a draft pick and cash, first baseman Joe "Slick" Connors will be heading to Vermont."
The guests sighed in surprise and the applause rang out again. Liv's mouth dropped open. She was sure the Yankees would get Matos. She felt Two Shot place his finger on her chin to help her close her jaw. "Just wait now, Liv, watch what we do the Yankees."
Liv just shook her head. "You still need a closer."
"Have you no faith in your man?" Sparks said. "Listen." He nodded back to Fitz.
"We are in continued talks and continue to pursue Johnny Flynn from Oakland. We need a strong closer and feel he would fit right in."
Once again, applause. Liv knew her Yankees would be doomed if they acquired Flynn. He was the best closer in baseball, well on his way towards a Cy Young. Before Fitz continued, Liv saw some movement at the bar and heard some yelling. Before the doors were closed, she saw a glimpse of Trent McDaniels, the player who lost his job to the bench because of Jordan Lewis. Liv seemed to be the only one that noticed. He looked drunk and angry.
"We also discussed some changes to the game days. I would like you all to take out your phones or wherever you store the dates of the games. We are marking three special days at the ballpark as fundraisers where all proceeds go to the organizations I will list in a moment. These organizations are close to my heart and getting the Lake Monsters involved will only strengthen our presence in the community and state.
"On June 2nd, we will be honoring all POW and MIA military families. Our communications team is working diligently to invite as many families as possible throughout the state who may be affected by once having a POW in service, has an MIA service person, or anyone that has suffered due to this. Those families will be treated to the game and all proceeds from the ticket sales and concessions will go to the POW/MIA organization."
Liv's attention was fully on Fitz now as her head tilted a bit. She knew exactly why he did it and Two Shot leaned over. "It's our pleasure Olivia, this is dear to his heart." Liv nodded. "I know." She said, tearing up.
"Second, Fitz continued, July 4th, and every July 4th home game after this year, all proceeds will go to the DAV fund. For those of you not familiar, that is the Disabled American Veterans. It's because of veterans that have made the sacrifice this country continues to be independent. We cannot give to those no longer with us, but for those who had their life altered, we honor them. Once again, all DAV and their families will be treated to the game. We will also celebrate with a laser light show after the game. No fireworks. Most war veterans aren't fans of fireworks."
Once again applause and a few whistles. Again, Liv nodded in agreement. Fitz took time to think of all this. In so many ways this meant so much to just him, but he was determined to have others benefit from it. She looked over at Sparks and Letecia and they both smiled at her, Sparks giving her the thumbs up. "He deserves this." Letecia said, reaching over and grabbing Liv's hand. It's as if she knew what was coming next.
"The final date, August 15th, will be a fundraising game for an organization dear to my heart. It's called Fatal Bumps. It's a charity to help children establish college funds and financial assistance if they have lost one or both parents in a car accident. Once again, our communications department is working on getting recipients from the Vermont area and hopefully can help them out while they are grieving."
Liv could hardly breathe. She felt her eyes swell up with tears. She couldn't believe this man was real. She felt her chest rise and tighten just a bit. She was so overjoyed and filled with such emotion. She squeezed Letecia's hand. "Honey, are you ok? Fitz told us about your father, he really wanted to do this in his honor and yours."
The audience was applauding once again, and Fitz thanked them. Before he concluded he said the following:
"We all carry our burdens. We all have scars that we hide away from society and even people we love. I have always felt it is better to give than to receive. If each of these events can make a difference in one life, then it will be a success. I would like to thank the love of my life, Olivia for being here with me tonight and I would like to wish you all health and happiness in the new year. Fifteen minutes now until the ball drops. Enjoy your night everyone."
Fitz saw Olivia jump out of her seat and dash towards the restrooms. He stepped down and went after her. There was a small room just before the restroom and Fitz grabbed her and pulled her in. She leaned up against his chest and she couldn't stop the sobs from coming out. She felt so foolish crying like this, but she was just so overwhelmed.
"Liv, what's wrong, I thought it would make you happy," Fitz held her in a warm embrace.
She nodded against his chest. "I am happy, Fitz, so happy. You have no idea. You are just so amazing. I just hope I didn't dream you up, that you are real."
He pulled her chin up towards him, wiping away her tears with his thumb. "I am real Livvie, and I am yours. I love you so much and your story inspired me. If I can ease the pain just a bit for others, I will. I never want to see you in the emotional pain you described to me about the time after the accident."
He leaned in and she didn't wait, she pulled him down, thanking him with a deep kiss. She tasted the scotch on his lips and pulled him even deeper. Feeling his body start to react, he pulled back. "Whoa, Liv, let's wait until I can undress you, ok."
"Ok. Oh, just to warn you Trent McDaniels barged in during your speech. By the looks of things, he seems bitter and he may start trouble."
"Thanks for the heads up. Now, let's go ring in the new year with our friends, have a few more drinks, and get back to the cabin. The hanger for that dress awaits."
As they entered back to the ballroom, the ball drop from Times Square was on the big screen. Everyone was standing and Liv and Fitz joined the table. Everyone was holding up a champagne glass as the countdown began. Loud chants: "10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1….streamers fell from above as everyone took a sip and screamed happy new year.
Couples started kissing and once Liv put her glass down, Fitz pulled her up from around her waist. Her hands rubbing his back as he looked deeply into her eyes. She made her way to his curls and said "I love you Fitzgerald Grant. Happy New Year, and here's to a great year ahead." Their lips connected and for just that moment, it was her and him alone in that banquet hall.
As the kiss ended, he looked at her again. "I am so happy I met you. I am alive again, Livvie, and I love you, too." He put her down and started shaking hands as the ladies began hugging one another. After several more exchanges around the room it was back to the three couples at the table.
Some of the crowd began dancing, others began getting ready to leave, and Fitz looked at Monica. "How many shots have you had with Two Shot?", he asked.
"Well, technically, this is our fifth date, so I guess four." She answered confusingly, but laughing.
"Good, two shots of Fireball for all of us before we go. Goodbye nickname, hello Monica, Sam's Fireball!"
"I'll go order the drinks." Liv said. "Go mingle with some players and others, meet us at the bar." She nodded to Monica who gave Two Shot a kiss.
"I like your friends, babe, they know you." She kissed him softly and went with Liv.
As Liv was ordering the drinks, Monica gave her a nudge, "Liv, you know this guy."
Liv looked up and standing just a bit too close for comfort on her other side was Trent McDaniels. His head was inches from her and when she turned, he was extremely close to her face. He reeked of alcohol and Liv backed away.
"You are one smoking hot woman, that fuck Grant does it again, huh? What do you see in him baby? I can rock your world so you'll never travel back to his." He was slurring his words, clearly too drunk for Liv to even acknowledge him.
Liv took Monica's hand and nodded towards the other side of the bar. "Let's go over there." But when Liv tried to move, Trent grabbed her just above the elbow, much like Edison did a few months ago and Liv was frozen.
"You want to ever play baseball again Mr. McDaniels, you will remove your hand from my arm, I will gladly break every one of your fingers on your throwing hand if you do not."
"Oooh, feisty too, honored, little lady, that you know who I am. Do you know my name because your boyfriend sold me out to a cheap Vermont kid from Rutland?" he said, but not letting go of her arm.
Liv felt the blood rush to her face, the heat pumping up her adrenaline. She was just about to lift her foot and use her heel on the top of his foot when she saw a hand grab him by his collar and throw him up against the wall.
Fitz had shot over faster than a bullet leaves a gun and Trent was pinned up against the wall. Liv could see the anger in Fitz's eyes, and it looked much like when he found DJ in the woods touching her. Two Shot and Sparks couldn't come fast enough, so Liv rushed over.
She put her hand on Fitz's shoulder. "FITZ!, STOP, not here, he's not worth it Fitz."
Fitz's eyes never left Trent's and she could tell his fists were grinding into the guy's neck. Trent's mouth began to open to find some air. Liv was certain Fitz would choke the air out of him and never let his feet touch the ground again.
Sparks came over. "Fitz, put him down. FITZ!" Sparks yelled and grabbed Fitz's one hand.
Liv looked for Two Shot, who had cleared the room and closed the door. The last thing the team needed was any negative news after such a positive night.
Fitz let Trent fall, and the guy tumbled over, both because he was drunk and Fitz had such a tight hold on him. Liv looked over and saw Max in the doorway. He nodded at Liv, and gestured the car was out front. "Take a break." He mouthed it and Liv understood.
She interlocked her fingers with Fitz's. "Walk with me, Fitz, come on, walk with me, don't even look back." She could hear him breathing heavy, anger breathing, and his faced was flushed with redness.
They walked out into the cold January air and saw the car off in a darkened, secluded parking spot. Liv led him to the car, it was running and heated as they entered the back. Fitz stared out the dark window, his hands folded in his lap.
Liv followed him in and shut the door. She moved close to him and lifted his hands to her mouth. She gave him gentle kisses on his hands. She worked her way up to his cheeks and he looked at her, he had the slightest of tears in his eyes.
He started shaking his head. "I can't deal with anyone touching you Liv, I just can't it makes me crazy." His jaw was clenched now.
She climbed in his lap, straddling him and hit the recliner button on the seat pushing it back slightly. "Hey, I am fine. You know I could've broken his fingers if not his hand. You need to keep that anger in check." He looked up at her.
Before she could say another word, he pulled her to his lips, penetrating his tongue deep in her, as she cupped his face in her hands. His tongue went so deep she moaned, and he worked her way to her neck, back up to her lips, in a long continuous kiss.
Liv didn't think she would be able to breathe again, until he pulled back and opened a compartment in the limo. It was filled with condoms and feminine products. Liv took the condom packet from him and raised her hips off his lap momentarily. She felt him shuffle his pants a bit, as she lifted her skirt.
Fitz pulled her underwear down as she rolled the condom on his now rock hard erection. As she was just about to take her position back, his lips overtook hers again and he guided her perfectly, so that when she went into the seated position, he slid right into her.
"Oh, fuck, Livvie, so wet, so fucking perfect." Fitz's hips were pumping up as Liv folded her hands behind his neck, her forehead meeting his and she began moving her hips with his.
All she could muster out of her mouth were moans of pure pleasure. He was so deep in her, this position being perfect for rough pumping sex. He kissed her breast, through her dress, and he buried his head between the two as his moans became grunts.
He was pumping up so hard now, Liv could feel her heart begin to beat rapidly and she threw her head back in defeat to the mind blowing orgasm she was about to have in the back of a limo. Everything about this moment was so fucking hot. She held onto the back of his neck, gripping hard so she wouldn't fall as she felt his hands dig deeper into her hips.
"Fucking look at me Liv, look at me, baby." Liv tried to roll her head forward, but her orgasm hit her, and Fitz quickly moved them so she laid across the long back seat as he continued to pump into her watching her body shiver into weakness.
One loud moan and "Fitz, this is shattering my insides." She felt his mouth connect with her neck and she imagined the car must be shaking. Thank God they were parked in a dark secluded spot. Fitz didn't seem like he was going to let up.
Finally, their eyes met. "You. Are. Mine." Each thrust harder as he said each word, and she pulled him down into another devouring kiss. She felt him tense, and the warm liquid filled the condom, as she felt the hard erection spasm inside her. He fell into the crook of her neck and she rubbed his curls until his breathing slowed down.
He was able to look at her and when she turned to him, he smiled. "Hi."
"Hi." She said back. "We just fucked in a stretch limo, guess I can cross that off my bucket list."
They laughed at the same time, Fitz slowly sitting up, adjusting Liv's underwear for her and fixing her dress before he took care of himself. "Are you ok, Liv?"
"Me? I am great. Are you ok?"
"Yeah, I just saw stars when I saw his hand on you Liv, I am sorry I overreacted."
"You didn't overreact, you saved him because I really was about to break something of his."
"Let's go back inside, say our goodbyes."
"Wait." Liv began fixing his curls, so didn't look a sex mess. She pulled the mirror down to look at herself. "You know," she began, "I owe you four more tonight, you turned me on five times, and this was one of the times. This was the anger Fitz sex. Angry Fitz turns me on."
"Oh yeah?", he smirked. What are the other four?"
"Well, there was when we arrived, calming Fitz, you calmed me down in front of the reporters. Then, there was totally fan of Olivia Fitz. You were such a fan when Ms. Hutchins was talking to me. That look you gave me, total turn on. Fan Fitz turns me on."
"Hmm, two more to go, I can't wait, go on, Ms. Pope."
Olivia fixed her hair a bit, closing the mirror, she looked at him. "Giving Fitz. During that speech, I wanted to run up to you and take you right there. So fucking hot when you are in a giving mood. Giving Fitz, drives me crazy for you. Finally, jealous Fitz. As much as I think you need to control your anger, the tingle I get in my body when I know you are jealous, mmmm." She moaned. "Jealous Fitz is definitely my favorite turn on. So that's what we have to look forward to when we get back to the cabin."
They walked back in, via the bar doors. Trent was long gone and Sparks and Two Shot came over. Fitz began talking to them as Monica and Letecia went over to Liv. She assured them she was fine and they joined the boys.
"No, we are not releasing him from the team, Fitz said. If I anger him that much, then he continues to work for me. He stays. It'll be a good waste of money."
Two Shot shook his head. "You are one crazy dude, but I love you man." He pulled Fitz to a hug and whispered something in his ear. Fitz nodded and thanked him. "Now, if you will excuse myself and Monica, we have a small getaway for a few days, so by y'all." He gave Liv and Letecia a peck on the cheek, interlocked his hands with Monica's and headed out. Little did they all know it was the last time they would see him as the true Two Shot they know. His life was about to violently change.
Sparks pulled Fitz to the side. "You sure you are ok? That anger man, you need to tone it down, you know."
Fitz nodded, "I know, it just….you know…"
"I get it, I do. What's going on with your father?"
"He thinks you want to be governor of California." Fitz laughed.
"Oh God, he would. You have plans to go see him?"
"Yeah, probably the beginning of February. Why don't you bring the family to the ranch? Indoor pool, basketball, arcade room, the kids would love it."
"Sounds great, I can't see Letecia not being on board. This way we can sit and talk to the Big G together."
"Yeah." Fitz pulled him to a hug. "Thanks for everything, I mean it." Fitz pulled back. "You didn't recognize that guy from before? The one that was lurking by the bar when we were talking?"
"The Pentagon guy?" Sparks asked. "Yeah, he is security at the Pentagon and he's security for one of the players as a side job. Why? Did something happen?"
"No, Liv thought he was listening in to our conversation before." Fitz looked at Sparks concerned. "You think he heard anything, because Two Shot could be…."
"Nah, I don't think so, but even if he did, nothing was said that would cause alarm, let Two Shot have his time with his girl, we need him settled down soon." Sparks was alarmed, but he didn't want to alarm Fitz.
Fitz felt a hand rub his back. He tensed a bit and realized it was Liv. "Ready to go, babe, I don't want to be too tired when we get back."
Letecia grabbed Fitz and gave him a stronghold hug. "I am so happy for you, I love you so much Fitz, you deserve all the happiness she brings you. Sparks just told me, we'll see you at the ranch in February." She walked away from Fitz, embracing Sparks. Fitz watched them walk away, not realizing he'd see them sooner in a hospital to help Two Shot fight for his life.
Fitz wrapped Liv's sweater back around her shoulders, handed her the purse, and headed towards the car. This time Max was right out front holding the door open. He nodded at them.
As the car was cruising along, Liv's head was resting on Fitz's chest while his arm was wrapped around her. He noticed she was fast asleep, and he pulled his tux jacket off from the seat and covered Liv with it. She cuddled up closer, not waking up, but wrapping her arm around his chest.
Fitz was so lost in this feeling. He leaned his head back, his mind racing about what Two Shot told him. He knew Sparks didn't hear it, but he sure as hell hoped that guy didn't either.
"I got the original flight plan. It's top secret classified and I have to think of a way to get it to you. Right now, only I know where it is, and no one knows I stole it. We'll get to the bottom of this Fitz, for you. There was a reason we weren't deployed with you, and this is smelling like a botched set up. I'll be in touch." That's when Two Shot patted his shoulder. He hoped again the "Pentagon" guy didn't hear anything, but he had a bad feeling. He drifted off to sleep as the limo cruised towards the cabin.
He dreamed of all the places in the cabin he was going to take Liv up on her offer. Four more rounds of love making before going back to the real world. In his dreams, he saw himself five different times. He was Calm Fitz, Fan Fitz, Giving Fitz, Jealous Fitz, and Angry Fitz. As the limo continued to cruise, Fitz didn't realize he was smiling from ear to ear in his sleep. It was going to be a great start to the new year.
