Chapter 28—Back Home
"Damn it, why the hell isn't he picking up his phone?" Fitz and Olivia were on their way back to Rutland. After a quick visit to the new soup kitchen for the veterans (formally Henry's bakery) and to the family clothing place (formally Betty's tailoring) Fitz was beside himself.
The soup kitchen was running smoothly. There were veterans and their families there. The kitchen was well stocked, and Miranda was taking good care of the place. Fitz couldn't have been happier.
It was the clothing place that had him fuming. Upon arrival there were boxes and boxes of donations just sitting out on the sidewalk. When entering, there were no unpacked boxes that were brought in. Two Shot had promised Fitz he was getting someone to run the place as soon as the New Year began.
It was January 3rd. Liv ended her career at Financially Yours earlier than expected, but Quinn was that good. They were now able to return to Rutland a week earlier than expected.
Liv had no doubt, she left it in the best hands. Quinn was amazing at bringing in clients. As much as Mr. Harris didn't want to admit how good Quinn Perkins was, he had to, because Liv was not staying. They had a quiet goodbye cake in Mr. Harris's office.
Quinn, Huck, Mr. Harris, and Huck's new trainee, Harrison Wright were there. Huck would be taking every other month off and he was training Harrison in the skills needed to secure the company. Huck was going to Rutland, meeting Olivia the following week to get his martial arts for kids up and running. Liv was going to register the kids beginning tomorrow.
Now, they had to think about today. Fitz called his good friend Dennis who came down to the clothing place to help. Dennis brought some buddies with him, and they had the boxes moved in. They were sorting the clothes when Dennis told Fitz to go, he would take it from there and to just have Two Shot call him when he could.
Fitz looked concerned as the car pulled away. They were being driven, having Max drive them, up to Vermont. Fitz had called Two Shot ten times, each time going to right to voicemail. He tried Monica's number also, that too went right to voicemail.
"Didn't he say they were going for a get away on New Year's Eve. Maybe they want privacy. The cabin did that for us." Olivia tried to calm Fitz down.
"It's just not like him to leave a project like that not taken care of, I am sure he's fine. They were going to a ski resort not far from Rutland. You're right, they are probably just snuggled up in front of a fire, getting to know each other." Fitz leaned into kiss Liv. "I wouldn't want to be interrupted if that was me with you either."
Liv wasn't so sure she had convinced Fitz that everything was alright. With him calmed down for the moment, Liv thought how bittersweet it was to be leaving New York. Three months ago, she was so uncertain about making the move. So much happened in that small time span, and it was life changing.
Fitz had convinced her to keep her place in the city, something she could well afford, so she did. She was feeling better about leaving knowing she had a place to come back to if ever needed.
As Max hit cruise control up the highway, Liv thought of the Rutland crew. "You think they'll be excited to see us?" She asked Fitz about the girls.
"Of course, they will. Just don't get too close to Daisy, she is going to knock you over when we return. I miss that dog, as much as she controls me. But the girls, yes, they stated several times over facetime how much they miss us. I'm excited to be going back as a couple too Ms. Pope. We learned so much about each other." Fitz grabbed her hand, interlocking their fingers.
With her other hand, Liv pulled a folded paper out of her purse. She had two things she wanted to tell Fitz, but the one she didn't know how to, so she went with the one about Chloe.
"What's this?" he asked, taking the paper from Liv.
"Take a look at it. It's a drawing from Chloe from the day I took her out, remember?"
"Oh yeah, I forgot to ask you about that, so much has happened since then." He opened the paper and looked at it. First, he smiled, seeing the colors and the small child's drawing, but then his look became alarmed.
"Graphic, right, for a girl as young as Chloe." Liv said.
"Graphic is right, what the hell is this all about Livvie?" He kept staring at the knife and the blood, he pointed to the police car. "Don't tell me this is DJ."
Liv took a deep breath. "Fitz, it's DJ and Mellie. That was the night of the fireworks. Chloe believes she saw Mellie getting arrested, but I think she saw the ending of some DJ/Mellie sex." Liv shivered in disgust after she said the words.
"Liv, are you saying that DJ is the father of Mellie's baby?" Fitz said it in a tone Liv was not familiar with. Was that jealousy?
"It's the only conclusion I can make out of it. But when DJ saw Chloe witness this, he threatened to slash her throat and Mellie threatened her to keep quiet. That child is petrified of them both. It explains why she was an emotional wreck when Mellie came back to town." Liv still was uncertain what Fitz was thinking or feeling.
"That son of a bitch, he thinks I hit him hard before, wait until I….."
"Fitz, that's not going to help Chloe. She is looking for protection from you and from Huck. She is afraid to tell Bryce because he works for Bryce."
"If she tells Bryce," Fitz stopped and shook his head. "I can't believe Mellie slept with this douchebag criminal. Mellie knows the history, his history."
"Fitz, you ok, you seem, jealous." Liv said cautiously.
"Jealous?" Fitz laughed. "Not jealous at all, embarrassed, sickened, angry, all of the above. You see, the family DJ killed the night he was drunk was Bryce's family. Bryce was about 3 at the time and he was with a friend of the family's being watched. Had he been with them, he would have been killed also."
"Oh my God. Now this guy goes and threatens his youngest daughter."
"Yeah, did you tell anyone else?"
"I mentioned it in crossing to Lara, but I don't think she fully got the picture, so."
"So, we have to tread lightly here. I made Bryce the Sheriff, knowing the favor was for DJ because of his connections, but I had to give Bryce a sense of superiority over this guy. He's hated both of us since that day. Jesus, what a mess this is, Mellie sure fucked up this time. At least Bryce is tracking DJ through his rehab. We will find out more when we get there."
Liv and Fitz were heading to the McClellan's home first. The girls begged them to stop there after they arrived. They didn't want to wait another day to see them. Fitz wanted to get Daisy anyway, so he didn't mind going there.
Liv wasn't sure how different it would be now that her and Fitz were officially a couple, but she was sure they would be welcomed with open arms. She thought back to what else she had in her possession but wasn't quite ready to tell Fitz about it.
Olivia had asked Huck to look up a Natalie Logan but told him the last name would be different. He would have to go through her father's profile to find her. Olivia wanted to know once and for all what Natalie knew about the events that happened in Iraq.
When Huck returned the information, it was quite troubling and sure to break Fitz's heart in the worst way. Natale was still Natalie Logan, and she had no children. She never married and was never pregnant. Huck even assured Liv he checked hospital and mid wife records; she never had a pregnancy.
She was living alone in an apartment not far from the Pentagon in DC. She worked as a receptionist in the Pentagon, having got the position through her father of course.
Olivia stared down at the paper. "Surely this is a mistake. She told Fitz when he got back, she was married and pregnant."
Huck shook his head. "She lied, Liv, she lied for a reason. It's going to be hard to tell Fitz. She is all he talked about over there. You sure you want to go through with this?"
Liv shook her head. "Yeah, I want to go through with it, I just don't know how, I'll have to think about this."
She turned to Fitz now who was deep in thought staring out the window. She reached over and rubbed his curls. "Hey, Mister, you, ok? You seem preoccupied."
Fitz grabbed her hand and brought it to his mouth for a gentle kiss. "I am not going to lie; I am worried about Two Shot. He did something for me, and the wrong people may know about it. I just wish he'd pick up the phone."
Two Shot and Monica arrived at the ski resort early New Year's morning, around 3 a.m. They had planned a two week get away with skiing, snowboarding, and sex on the agenda. Two Shot couldn't wait. This had been the first time he had been with someone for longer than a week and hadn't had sex with them. The first night he had planned for them would be over the top romantic.
He had talked to the owner of the ski resort, having their cabin all set up for a romantic atmosphere when he entered the place with Monica. He couldn't believe how head over heels he was in love with this woman, crazy thing, she truly loved him back.
Just before heading out to the place, Two Shot made a stop. Monica was curious as to why at 2 a.m. in the morning they were stopped at a residential home. She saw Two Shot grab two envelopes and turn towards her.
"I just have to leave these on the doorstep. These are time sensitive for work." He lied. "They're needed to get to Fitz. I don't think Fitz is home yet from the party, so I am leaving them secured. "
Monica waved her hand. "No need to explain. Is this Fitz's place?"
"No, this is his best friend, the Sheriff of Rutland, Bryce McClellan. He is the only other person Fitz trusts with his life besides me and Sparks. I'll show you him and Liv's place after here. They live next to each other." He got out of the car and was back within a minute. He leaned toward Monica and pulled her to him. He kissed her gently on the lips. "You ready baby? The resort is about ten miles away."
On the way, as he past Fitz's house, he pointed. "This mansion is Fitzgerald Grant's home." He then passed the small ranch house not too far from the "mansion." "And this is Olivia's little place. They met right there on her porch."
Monica took a good look at the places. She was a woman who remembered detail. She had no idea it would save her life in a few hours.
Monica couldn't wait. She was excited about this relationship. She had feelings for Samuel for a while now, never making a move because he was such a lady's man. She waited until he eventually noticed her and didn't give in to him. That's one of the reasons, she figured, he fell in love with her.
It didn't take her long either. He truly was a gentleman despite all the one dates he had. He treated her with dignity, with respect, and supported her career as an agent. She really was a woman in a man's world, and he admired that.
Two Shot made a phone call just before pulling up to the resort cabin. A young man came out, with a thumbs up and Two Shot tipped him, shook his hand, and the young man walked away.
Monica got out of the car, went to grab her bags, but Two Shot pulled her away. "That can wait, come inside."
She did, and when she did, she was lost. He had rose petals tossed everywhere. The fireplace was lit just in front of a gorgeous king-sized bed. They didn't hesitate, and within minutes, they were both making love, giving in to the feelings they had for each other for a few weeks.
While Monica was relaxing, watching the fire burn in the fireplace, Two Shot got up. "I am going to grab a few bags, we need some clothes, although I am fine watching you walk around naked for the next two…
"Samuel." Monica cut him off.
He leaned in. "I mean no disrespect, I…"
"Samuel, you have one fine body too, but yes, we'll need to dress eventually." He tossed her his Lake Monsters hooded sweatshirt as he put his jeans back on. It was cold out, he would be quick, so he went out shirtless. He wasn't expecting to get attacked, so he had no way of knowing what a mistake of a decision that was.
As he was making his way towards the door, Monica put her leggings back on, figuring she would help him bring some things in. She wasn't going to, but she decided to put her sneakers back on, just in case she walked outside.
Two Shot had just walked out the door, when he legs buckled from under him and he was hit on the back of his knees with a heavy object. He grunted as he landed face first on the concrete, scraping his face.
Monica heard the grunt and the thud of his body falling and was able to peer out the window. She saw a man, someone she recognized, but she couldn't remember from where. She almost screamed in horror with what she saw next, but nothing could come out of her mouth.
The guy, the one Liv saw at the party, "Pentagon Guy" as he was called by Sparks, brought the bat back up and hit Two Shot directly on the back. He didn't know it now, but he just tore away two vertebrae from the lower back that would result in paralysis of the hips and legs on Two Shot.
Monica sat with her hand covering her mouth and tears streaming down her face. She had no phone, no clothes, she had nothing. She couldn't call for help at all, she was useless.
"Pentagon Guy" waved to the guy in the car. Two Shot was passed out and he needed help moving him. As they were dragging Two Shot to the car, his limp body scraping the pavement, she tried to make a run to her own car, just to grab her phone.
The second man, Commander Logan, as she would soon find out, dropped Two Shot's arm and made a dash for her. "Son of a bitch!" he screamed. He turned to "Pentagon Guy." "I thought you said she was sleeping." He chased after her, and Monica, realizing she had no time to stop to grab anything, pumped her legs as she did in her track days in high school and bolted into the darkness.
She just ran, trying to remember the exact way Two Shot drove and followed by memory the way the car drove in. She didn't even look back and just prayed to God she would have enough strength to get the ten miles back to Bryce or Fitz's place.
Trying to take Fitz's mind off Two Shot and Mellie, Olivia began talking about starting her life in Rutland. "So, Mister, I have this problem." She placed her lips on his neck and that got his attention.
"Oh, what problem is that?"
"See, I am a new homeowner and I have fallen in love with my neighbor. I think he feels the same way, but he lives in a gorgeous house built by his own two hands. What is a new homeowner to do in this predicament?" Her lips met his as she felt him smile midway through the kiss.
He pulled back. He swallowed hard to control his urge to take her in the back seat of a car again. "Well, I guess you should make love to your neighbor at his place, and then make love at your place, and see where you like it the best."
Liv smiled, gave a little chuckle. "Oh, is that your advice?" With that, she rested her head on his shoulder.
Fitz looked out the window as they approached the McClellan's. "What in the world?"
Max pulled up to the McClellan's and the girls were outside. They jumped up and grabbed signs holding them high above their head. There they were in size order tallest to smallest and oh how Liv missed those faces.
"What is Olitz?" Liv asked Fitz.
"Olitz? Where did you get that?" Fitz looked in the direction Liv was pointing. Above the garage was an adorable banner in colors, clearly written in a child's writing and in big colored letters it read "WELCOME HOME OLITZ!" Each side had two big red hearts, in front of the welcome and after Olitz.
Fitz stepped out of the car first and then put his hand out to Liv, who took it and interlocked her fingers with his. He stopped her from walking any further and held her close to the car as he closed the door. "Wait for it" he said.
Within seconds, Daisy came charging out of the open garage door and jumped in the air right at the two of them. She was whimpering, barking, and tail wagging in warp speed. Fitz knelt and grabbed her collar as he vigorously pet her, and she licked his face in happiness.
She then turned to Liv and Liv did the same thing but pulled back as she wasn't quite fond Daisy's drool all over her face. "I missed you too, baby girl." She stood up and they both walked towards the signs.
Alyssa's sign read "Livvie", Brianna's sign had a big red heart, and Chloe's sign said "Fitz. These girls certainly did love a true love story.
Chloe dropped her sign and jumped into Fitz's arms, giving him the biggest hug ever. She put her head into his neck and started to cry. "I missed you so so much Fitz, I weally did. I am not cwying because I am sad, I am so so happy."
Fitz pulled her head back and rubbed her nose with his. "I missed you more pumpkin pie. Are you going to tell me what that is? What is Olitz?" Fitz was pointing at the banner.
"Wivvie, come hug with Fitz, a gwoup hug." Chloe reached and pulled Liv close with her arm around her neck.
Fitz put Chloe down and she looked at the sign. "Owitz, that's you and Wivvie. Owivia and Fitz equals Owitz."
Alyssa came over with Brianna. Both gave Liv and Fitz big hugs. "I decorated the banner and Brianna thought of the name."
"After we saw you on TV on New Year's Eve, everyone kept saying Olivia and Fitz, Fitz and Olivia, so I thought to shorten it to Olitz." Brianna said.
"Do you wike it Wivvie? See, I towd you, you wuv Fitz and he wuvs you. I knew he wuvved you."
Liv knelt and grabbed Chole into a big hug. "I love the banner and the name, it's very clever. You and your sisters are so clever. You sure did sunshine; you knew from the day we met. You know what, I do love him, and we can be a family in Rutland, because I am staying."
"Oh Wivvie, that makes me so so happy. Now you can come to by bwthday, it's Januawy 30. Yay".
Chole ran into the house screaming Wivvie is staying in Wutwand, Wivvie is staying.
Fitz and Liv followed the girls inside and to their surprise, the rest of the gang was there. Sophie pulled them both into a hug and cried. "I am so happy for the two of you. Olivia you are so perfect for him."
Abby came over, "Mom, please. She's been crying since New Year's Eve Fitz, go calm her down, please."
She pulled Liv by the hand and guided her with Lara into the living room where they could chat. Before Liv knew what was happening there were three glasses of wine, a sandwich platter, and a need for gossip.
"Spill it", Abby said. "I have been waiting for Fitz to find love for five years. Wait, you do love him, right?"
Lara shook her head. "Abby, why not cut right to the point? Geez girl, where's your dignity?"
"Leo took that, along with my virginity."
Liv almost coughed up her wine in laughter. "Wow, Abby, that's too much information. Yes, I do love him Abby, but I knew that before I left Rutland." She looked at Lara who nodded in understanding.
Just as the ladies were sitting down to some wine, the girls settled down to watch a movie with Daisy at their feet, and Bryce led Fitz to his office. He opened the safe and pulled out the two envelopes. He handed them to Fitz, and he saw the confusion on his face.
"You weren't expecting these?" Bryce thought Fitz knew all about the envelopes.
"No idea, where did these come from?" Fitz was looking at the one marked confidential then he read the letter Two Shot left for Bryce.
"Two Shot came and dropped them off. My camera has him on my porch around 2 a.m. right after the gala. I thought you had told him to drop them off that's why I didn't mention anything to you."
Fitz hadn't heard anything Bryce was saying as he opened the envelope. He recognized the papers right away. They were a flight plan of some sort. This is what Two Shot was telling him about. They were clearly marked classified; these were originals and the proof Fitz needed to take down whomever had him captured in Iraq. Fitz's shoulders slumped, now realizing the truth he never wanted to know, his kidnapping had been staged, his torture planned, all for what?
He saw Two Shot's writing. "Hey brother, anything for you, remember that. Nothing can compare to the torture you went through for two years in that hell hole. I only wish I was there with you, but I hope this brings some closing to your ordeal, and the bastards pay for what they did to you. I am here for you every step of the way. I would do this all over again for you." It was signed Two Shot.
Fitz closed his eyes. He thought back to the flight plan handed to him when before he stepped into his F-15. He saw it clear as day, he opened his eyes and looked at the original flight plan, clearly, they were different. The plans were changed.
He closed his eyes again. He looked at the face that handed him the forged flight plan. "Pentagon Guy!" Why didn't he recognize him at the party? It must have been buried in his head with the trauma. He began to sweat, and Bryce noticed this from the beads forming on his forehead. He placed his hand gently on Fitz's shoulder. "Fitz, buddy, you ok."
He looked at Bryce, who was clearly nervous having seen Fitz have a PTSD episode. He promised Liv back in that cabin he would fight that, he would use his strength not to let this beat him anymore. He looked at Bryce.
"I think you need to sit down, Bryce. I have a story for you that's long overdue for you to know about me. I am going to apologize now for never telling you this, but my time with Liv made me realize I have allies, and I need to let them in. You are an ally and it's time you know the truth about me."
Fitz told him everything. He confessed about being captured and being a POW and Bryce, the good friend that he is, listened and took it all in. It was when Fitz pulled his shirt off and he saw the physical scars it had left on Fitz, did Bryce finally shed some tears.
"Dear God, Fitz, what the hell is going on?" He rubbed his fingers on the scars. "What the fuck did they do to you, and why?"
"I think we are getting closer to the truth. I think my father is involved in some way. It's taking a bit long to get to the truth, but if I can survive two years of this, I can wait to get my revenge."
Bryce suddenly understood Fitz's seclusion all these years. He understood his episode and he just shook his head in admiration. "God, Fitz, the caring person you are, how giving you are, you saved this town and look at everything you have been through. I am honored to call you friend."
"Thanks. Liv and I had a lot of sharing to do. All these years, Bryce, thinking I couldn't be loved, I was afraid to love, because of all my scars both emotional and physical, and along comes Liv. She accepted this with more love than I could have imagined. This past month, it has been amazing. Now if I can just close out this chapter." He looked down at the flight plan.
Bryce watched as Fitz put his shirt back on. He remembered when Fitz first came to town, his first town council meeting. He pointed right at Bryce and said, "he's Sheriff." The council protested loudly, but Fitz never backed down. It was Bryce or let the town go under. Bryce knew where Fitz got his courage from now.
Fitz looked at Bryce. He was about to tell him about Chloe, the whole thing with DJ, but Fitz bottled it for the time being. He just gave Bryce a lot to think about. Instead, Fitz told him how he was worried now about Two Shot and hoped he didn't put Bryce in any danger by trusting him with the materials.
"Don't worry about that", Bryce reassured him. "I'll tell the officers to watch my house frequently for any suspicious people. I will also tell them to keep an eye out around town."
Two Shot still lay unconscious now, his body beginning to get some effects of infection. It wouldn't be long before he started to run a fever. They had taken him to an abandoned small house between the resort and Fitz's place.
They had lost track of his little girlfriend. They put someone across from Fitz's place, just to let them know when they arrive back and to see if the girlfriend arrives there. If she did, then Fitz would be notified of Two Shot's unfortunate circumstance.
"Pentagon Guy", real name Eric Sherman came out of the room where Two Shot lay. Logan was joined by Kelly now and they both looked at Eric. "He's not doing so well, we need a doctor or murder will be added to the list of charges, and I am not going down for murder."
Kelly rubbed his face in frustration. He looked at Logan. "What the fuck, we can't continue this shit."
Logan remained calm. "Don't worry, that little thing will get to Fitz's place soon. " He looked at Eric. "Take some pictures of Two Shot, his bruising, his blood, and video his lack of movement. We're going to give Fitz a little show."
Olivia had left the two ladies in the living room chatting about the cabin and the jewelry Fitz had given her. She met Sophie in the kitchen who was cooking dinner for everyone. Liv walked right up to Sophie and gave her a big hug.
"What's this?" Sophie asked, but returning the hug with affection.
"Thank you, thank you for helping me the night Fitz got in trouble, thank you for making me realize I do love him, and thank you for being there for him. He told me you know about his time in Iraq and about his scars."
Sophie pulled Liv away and caressed her cheek. "Oh Olivia, from the moment Fitz told me about you I saw the twinkle in his eyes, he was in love and he hadn't known you a day yet. As far as realizing, that was all you, I just encouraged you along. I take it you accept his imprisonment and his scars. He was so worried."
Olivia looked at the bathroom. "Do you have a second?"
Sophie nodded and walked towards the bathroom with Olivia. "I was in a car accident when I was 11. The accident killed my father." As she closed the door behind them Liv faced Sophie. "I have scars also, from a glass vase that shattered on my body during that accident. Do you mind if I show them to you?"
Sophie's hands rested on her cheeks. "Of course, darling, not at all."
When Liv pulled her shirt up, Sophie just shook her head. "There it is." Sophie said with a smile.
Liv pulled her shirt back on, and opened the bathroom door as they both walked out before anyone saw them in there. "There what is?" Liv asked.
"The alignment of the stars, the fate waiting to happen. You and Fitz were meant to be. I take it he didn't mind those scars."
"Even better," Liv chuckled, "he made me not mind my scars. The love that man can give, he surprises me at every angle."
Bryce and Fitz had just come out of the office when Lara and Abby joined them all in the kitchen. Abby took one look at Fitz and gave him the biggest hug.
"What is that for?" he asked, hugging her back.
"I always knew how special you were, saving this town and all, but I also knew how much love you had to give someone. Olivia deserves you as much as you deserve her, and I am here for it. I am team Olitz all the way." She kissed his cheek.
"Did someone say Olitz?" The three girls were in unison as they all sat down for dinner. Daisy walked and stood next to Liv and Fitz.
"As much as we'd like to stay for that amazing dinner, we have unpacking to do, and we need to get home. Sophie, we will take a raincheck on that food."
Bryce tossed Fitz the keys to his car he had taken care of and off they went towards Fitz's place with Daisy.
Monica had run into the woods, not realizing if she was going the right way or not. She had to slow down as it was still pitch dark out. She had no choice but to wait for daybreak, and even then, she still had miles to go.
She thought about getting to a street, or knocking on a door, but who can she trust in a strange town. Then, she thought of Two Shot. Was he even alive? She saw the image of his body being dragged. No, she thought, she had to continue, for him.
Just as she turned to head deeper into the woods and hope to eventually find her way, her foot became wedged under, and branch and she fell forward. Her head grazed the bark of the tree in front of her, knocking her semi-conscious onto the cold, damp, earth.
With no more strength left in her, she drifted off, shivering in the cold. Her head now bleeding, her eyes closed, she could only dream of making it to safety to help Two Shot.
Fitz sat on the couch in his home in front of the fireplace. Liv had just come down from taking a shower and was in her favorite Navy Seals t-shirt and shorts. She looked at Fitz who was studying the papers from Bryce's. He hadn't moved in the time she unpacked his things and took the shower.
She climbed behind him on the couch, her legs wrapped around him and her core pushing up against his bottom. He was shirtless and she kissed his back, rubbing it also, feeling how tense he was.
She noticed he was drawing something on another piece of paper, and he was so natural at it. It looked foreign to her, but his pencil was moving, and he was turning the paper every which way. It was a map and he was drawing lines in all directions, mumbling to himself.
Fitz was trying to draw, from memory, the flight plan that was handed to him before he climbed into his plane in Iraq. He needed to match it to the original plan Two Shot got for him.
He finally put the pencil down and rubbed his face. He pulled Liv's arms around his waist and rubbed her hands. He closed his eyes, feeling her body against his back.
She swung her leg around his lap and was quickly upon him, straddling him and leaning down for a kiss. She pulled away. "You're so tense, Fitz. What are you working on?"
He just looked at her eyes, he was distant, she could tell, and she connected her forehead with his. He couldn't speak. He was worried about Two Shot, he was angry about the flight plan, and he was frustrated he didn't have answers. He gripped Liv's neck, and pulled her down, devouring her lips and forgetting all his emotions for the time being.
He turned her to lay her on the rug in front of the fireplace, as he lifted her shirt above her head, and took a breast in his mouth. The warmth of her body was soothing him, as his fingers found their way to her core, which was wet for him.
"yes" she whispered, "let it go for now baby."
He worked his lips up to her neck, as her body arched to accept his fingers inside her. His lips made it to the base of her ear, where he grabbed her earlobe with his teeth. He felt her fingers go through his hair. Her head turned to his ear, and she whispered, "I love you Fitz, I am here for you."
He pulled his fingers out, planted a kiss on her lips, and opened the drawer in the stand next to the couch. He pulled out a condom and pulled his boxers down.
She was so wet, he had no problem going deep into her, and he watched her head arch back as she hugged his shoulder blades. All his emotions hit him at once, and he heard her moan as he thrusted into her harder than he meant to, but she didn't complain.
"Fitz." She said, as her head turned towards the fireplace, and he could feel her release, her grip around his shoulders becoming tighter. He let go soon after and he just lay with his head on her shoulder, both not wanting to disconnect.
Around the time Fitz and Olivia were greeting the gang at the McClellan's Monica woke up. It was daylight and she was trying to remember why she couldn't feel her body. She didn't even know how long she had been out. That's right, she thought, she was freezing and bleeding.
She thought again of Two Shot and a burst of adrenaline heated her body. She stood up, wobbling for a bit, and headed in the direction she could remember. She noticed houses, although she had seen them in the dark, she had paid attention to the details.
At about the time Fitz's head rested on Liv's shoulder, she noticed the well-lighted "mansion" Samuel had pointed out. She heard his words. "This mansion is Fitz's."
She barely made her way to the porch, falling into the door as she missed the last step and tripped over it. As she fell into the door, the thud made Fitz's head react and he jumped up. He reached Liv's clothes and handed them to her, as he quickly ran to the bathroom, came back out holding a flashlight and pulling up his boxers. Daisy was right behind him, following him to the door.
He opened the door before Liv could tell him his shirt was off, but she soon forgot the importance of that as she saw Monica laying bleeding and shivering, having passed out just in time to be found.
Fitz dropped the flashlight and reached down to pull her in, with Daisy helping him, and slammed the door, not even thinking to look outside to see the car parked and the person inside watching everything unfold.
"Oh my God." Liv ran to help Fitz get her up. They rested her on the part of the couch, closest to the fire, and Liv got some blankets and a warm cloth for her head.
As Fitz was rubbing her body to warm her up, he heard his phone ping. He looked at the bright light and picked it up. The text message came through from "unknown" and it read, does this guy look familiar?
Fitz stared at the pictures of Two Shot's battered and bruised body. Liv saw him staring at the phone and heard a deepened, obviously voice enhanced person say, "looks as if he's paralyzed."
Fitz dropped the phone and sat on the couch, beginning to sweat. Liv put the blankets on Monica and ran to Fitz. "What is going on?"
Fitz just looked lost. He looked at her. "They have Two Shot." He pointed to the phone. "They have Two Shot, and they are torturing him."
Liv went back to Monica, wiped the warm cloth over her head and her wound, picked up Fitz's phone, and called two people. The first person was Bryce, he needed to get here right away with a First Aid Kit, just him, no one else and look before he entered.
The next call was to Huck. "Fitz", he said as he picked up on the first ring.
"It's Liv, I need you here." She stared at Fitz, going back to a dark place, and she hung up the phone to comfort him as Monica was grunting trying to come to.
Within a minute of receiving Liv's phone call, Huck was already on his way to Rutland.
