Chapter 31-Consequences

"Hewwooo Wivvie. I have been taking gweat care of you." Chloe pointed an object at Olivia's forehead, and it beeped. "Excewwent! 98.0. You don't have a fever." Chloe then rubbed a warm cloth across Olivia's forehead. "Do you feew better?"

Olivia blinked to make sure this wasn't a dream. She held Chloe's wrist to stop her from rubbing her head. She tried desperately to remember what was happening, but the last thing she remembers is…."Oh my God, Chloe, where is your mom? Get her for me please."

Chloe jumped out of the bed and ran into the next room. "Mommeeeee, Wivvie is awake. She is wooking for you."

Liv sat up on the bed. She checked the clock. 10 in the morning. What the hell is going one? She pulled her knees almost to her chin, hugging them and began to rock. She looked at her clothes, they weren't her clothes. She was in gray sweats and a Sheriff's tee shirt. She looked at her hands. No blood was there. What the hell happened? Think Liv, think. The last thing she remembered was seeing blood on her hands, but whose blood. She closed her eyes. Fitz!

"WHERE IS FITZ?" She screamed. Lara came running in, closing the door and locking it before the girls came in concerned.

Liv looked up. "Lara, where is Fitz? What is happening right now? Lara, please you have to tell me, please tell me everything. What the hell is going on?"

Lara grabbed Liv's shoulders. "Liv, I need you to calm down, ok, please just calm down. The girls are so worried about you, they think you are sick with the flu. Please, I will explain everything, but you have to calm down."

Olivia looked at Lara. She was calming down, taking deep breaths. She nodded her head. She didn't want the girls to get scared, but she needed answers, and she needed them now.

"Ok, I got a call from Bryce to get over to the abandoned houses right away. It was 1 in the morning. I dropped the girls off by Sophie who was at your place with Monica. When I told Bryce I was approaching the houses, he called to Fitz. Fitz came out, cradling you in his arms. You were out cold, with blood all over you. I thought you were dead."

Liv was thinking, trying hard to remember. She remembered getting to a dark backyard with Abby. She began to daydream, looking at the floor. Abby, Liv thought. She tripped and fell. "Abby', she said out loud. "Where is Abby?"

"Abby is fine. She is in the living room. She has a big bump on her head, but she's going to be alright. Brianna is icing it for her."

"Go on." Liv said, trying to bring back the pieces of what went down. "Where is Fitz? Oh my God, Lara, is he?" Liv began to sob, remembering Logan was waiting for him. "Did Logan get him?" Liv began to panic. She began to jump out of the bed. Lara held her.

"LIV, LISTEN! He isn't dead. Trust me, he's far from dead." Liv sat back down. Fitz sat with you in the back seat of my car. He was kissing you, all over, your face, your forehead, your neck, everywhere, declaring his love for you. I have never seen a man cry like he cried for you, telling you he loved you over again. He placed you down on the back seat and told me the blood on you was not yours, and to get you cleaned up before you woke up. I brought you back here, got you in the house and washed you up. I threw your clothes in the washer. The whole time you were in and out of consciousness. You don't remember?"

Liv rubbed the back of her neck. She shook her head. "I am only remembering Abby falling, and I went to help her, but…." She stopped speaking, and Lara saw all the blood drain from Olivia's face. "OH MY GOD, LARA, NATALIE…. NATALIE THREATENED TO STEP ON ABBY'S HEAD. WHERE IS SHE? WHERE'S NATALIE?"

Lara knew what Liv had done to Natalie. She couldn't tell her. She needed Liv to remember.

Fitz had told her before she took her back about her scars and how Natalie is now scarred. "Please, Lara, don't judge her, it wasn't her fault."

Lara looked at Fitz. "I would never judge her, never. I will take good care of her Fitz, I promise." He leaned over the front seat and kissed her on the forehead thanking her a hundred times. He took one last look at Liv as he walked back to the abandoned house.

Natalie had come to, holding a cloth to her face, crying uncontrollably. She looked at the scene before her. Her father was a bloody mess. His whole face looked like it had every bone broken. Cheekbones, eye socket, nose, you name it, it was broken.

Big Gerry and a guy Natalie never saw before were standing by Fitz, holding him back. Fitz's hands were bloody making it clear he was the one who had been hitting Logan.

There was another man, again not familiar to Natalie bending over her father. He had a blade in his hand and was about to cut at his finger. Her father's breathing was heavy, as he was begging for the man to stop.

"What do you want Fitz? You want his ring fingerprint or his thumb fingerprint. I can cut off both if that's what makes you feel better."

Bryce looked at Fitz. He was standing in front of him. "Come on Fitz, that's enough, stop."

Fitz looked coldly at Bryce; a look Bryce never saw before. "That's enough? No, Bryce, two years is enough. I can make it so I torture this traitor for two years. He's lucky I am giving him an hour. Huck, slice the thumb, then go take care of what we talked about."

Huck nodded and moved the blade. Natalie lifted her shoulders to try to drown out the scream that came from her father. She looked over and Huck was holding a piece of skin in his hand, as her father's thumb dripped in blood. Huck quickly wrapped it up and patted Logan on the head. "Good boy, you didn't even flinch, although you need to work on that scream. It's a little weak. Fitz never screamed when he got lashed."

Huck leaned closer so only Logan can hear him. "You didn't hear what they did to him over there. I witnessed it firsthand every single day. I fucked up your mission, and guess what, you're not getting out of here alive, I am telling you that now, so say your goodbyes to your daughter because I will have no remorse killing you."

Logan just stared at him getting up. He knew what he said was true. He also realized he was dealing with the operative that was on the prison camp with Fitz. How the hell did they find each other? Logan looked over at Natalie nursing her wound that bitch gave to her.

Eric and Toby were sitting tied up in the corner, Toby with dried blood along his face from his ear, or what was left of his ear. Eric had blood coming from his nose. He was knocked out by Huck when he entered the room to check on Samuel. God, what did Logan cause. Maybe it would be better if he were dead, Huck would be doing him a favor.

Big Gerry had left Two Shot with Sparks. Sparks was on his way to the hospital with him. The story was he was found in an alley along Main Street beaten and robbed. He was dumped there; it didn't happen there. Bryce said he would take it from there with the department.

Big Gerry had returned with the classified documents about the explosion in Vegas. It had all the evidence needed to blame Logan for the attack. The Chief of Naval Operations had organized a terror attack on the country he was supposed to serve. This wasn't going to end well for Logan.

Big Gerry had made a few phone calls to the FBI and the CIA. He still had enough friends in high places so this plan would not go wrong. The government was no stranger to a cover up and the time Fitzgerald Grant the Second had spent as a US Senator was respected.

Fitz knew his father would be called in for questioning regardless of what happened to Logan, just to make it look official, but he also knew his father wouldn't face any prison time. He still wasn't going to easily forgive him, but at least he wasn't sending him off to prison.

The plan was this: Logan had found out that Big Gerry Grant, his hated enemy from the Senate had been in Vermont visiting Fitz. Logan brought Natalie along for the ride because she wanted to see Fitz again after their relationship had gone sour. Logan was also on edge because of missing documents he had been informed of from the Pentagon and he feared Big Gerry had something to do with it.

When Big Gerry confronted Logan with the documents, he was aware of Logan's involvement of the terror attack in Vegas, the thwarted one that made Logan look like a hero.

Knowing how damaging this would be to Logan, he threatened Gerry with a knife, cutting at his chest and stomach. Fitz came in and found Gerry bleeding on the ground. He stopped Logan and punched him in the face several times, not knowing his own strength and grabbed his father to leave.

Natalie walked in after hearing commotion from the car and when she tried to tend to her father, he woke up made swinging the knife in the air. Natalie, in her attempt to calm him was cut downward on her cheek and knocked unconscious.

With the knowledge that Gerry had about Logan's part in the plot, seeing his daughter, thinking she was dead because of him, he slit his own wrists, killing himself to avoid any scandal.

Toby and Eric would be arrested in Rutland by the Sheriff's department. They had been responsible for a bunch of burglaries in the area including one that involved beating a man with a bat. There had been an eyewitness (Monica) that would testify if they didn't cooperate. When Toby threatened to turn on Eric, Eric sliced his earlobe off. During the pain of it all, Toby's elbow went back in self defense breaking Eric's nose. The two of them would spend several years in a Vermont state prison, but it was better than being indicted on domestic terrorism and even better than being dead.

That was the story they were going with. It was the only way Eric and Toby would escape with their lives, they would both be going to prison, but they would be alive.

Natalie was going to be tough not to throw a wrench in their plans, but she has been traumatized and scarred. If she thinks complying with the plan will save her prison time, perhaps a deal can be worked out.

Fitz wasn't happy with it, he wanted her to go to prison, but every day she looks in the mirror for the rest of her life, she will be reminded of the part she played in all of this. She needed to be stitched up and a friend of Bryce's was on his way to do that.

This was the only way. Go with Plan B. Plan B kept Gerry out of prison, stopped lengthy Congressional hearings, and gave Fitz the satisfaction of moving on and putting this behind him. He wanted the killing to stop and as much as he didn't want Logan dead, he was gratified knowing he had an hour to torture him. He would make him feel pain just like Fitz had to endure for two years.

Huck handed Fitz a small rope. Fitz held on the rope staring at it. Suddenly his mind brought him back to Olivia. He was struggling now, wanting to lash Logan with the rope, but hearing Liv's words when she came to. "Please Fitz, don't do anything you're going to regret, promise me."

Fitz was cradling Liv in his arms. She opened her eyes, seeing him, and her arm went around him, squeezing him in a tight hug. "It's not my blood" she whispered. "I cut her, Fitz, I cut Natalie's face. She knew about your scars then she saw mine. She was saying things." Liv stopped and just began sobbing into Fitz's chest.

He looked over at Natalie in her pool of blood, and he didn't care if she bled out, if she died right in that position, he didn't care one bit. His Livvie was alright and that's all that mattered.

"It's ok, Livvie, it's ok, don't worry." Bryce had run into the room. He was so confused by the scene in front of him.

Abby had come to and was trying to stand, Bryce ran to her and helped her up. She looked around, found a corner and just rested in it while Bryce called Lara to come and get Abby and Olivia.

"I cut her Fitz, I cut her face, Jesus Fitz, I cut her face." Fitz had put his shirt now onto Liv rather than it just being wrapped on her body. Too many people were going to come in, and he didn't want her being exposed like that.

"It's not your fault Livvie, you did what you had to do, it isn't your fault." Fitz looked up at Bryce. He nodded over to Natalie. "It's her blood, not Liv's."

Bryce ran over, turned Natalie's head and saw the slash. He jumped up and reached into his bag, finding a thick cloth. He applied pressure and then turned her head back, so it was resting on the cloth. He ran his fingers through his hair. What a mess this was turning out to be, but he would stop at nothing to help Fitz through this.

"I called Lara. She is on her way to come get Liv and Abby. Big Gerry left Two Shot with Sparks. Once Lara gets them, we will bring Logan and Eric here. Gerry has Toby with him. He's on his way back. We need to figure this all out, we'll be ok Fitz."

Bryce wondered if Fitz even heard a word he said. Liv was still coming to as he continued to cradle her in his arms. "Liv, you ok? Liv, I'm here. You're safe now."

Bryce saw Olivia blink her eyes. She looked around as she caught her bearings. She saw Natalie still lying on the ground, and she immediately buried her head into Fitz's chest. He pulled her close to him, tightening his grip on her as she continuously said, "I'm sorry." She started to sob into his chest.

She grabbed at Fitz's shirt, realized what she had done and began to go into panic mode. Huck had made his way over, pushing Logan in before him. "Eric is still out cold in the room; I'll go back for him in a minute." He looked over at Fitz and Liv. His heart sank for them both.

"How is she doing?" Huck asked about Liv. Huck saw Natalie, and the blood on the cloth. He looked up at Bryce. "She slashed her pretty good huh?"

Bryce wasn't sure if Huck was concerned or proud, but he shook it off.

Fitz said, "She's coming to, but it looks like she's going into to panic mode."

Huck reached into his box. He pulled out a needle. "I am going to give her a sedative. It shouldn't put her out completely, but it will calm her down."

Logan gave a moan, so they realized he was there.

Huck looked up at him. "Don't worry, I didn't forget about you. I have plenty of other toys in here and they are just for you." Logan sunk down to the floor with his back up against the wall.

Huck gently put the needle into Liv's neck as she sank peacefully back into Fitz's arms. Fitz stood up, shirtless and Huck saw his scars. It sent a chill down his spine, and he remembered each scar and when Fitz got them. Although he didn't say it , Huck was going to find pleasure in killing Logan.

"Fitz, it's ok, you don't have to do this. I can…." Before Huck could finish, He walked up to Logan. His face a bloody mess. He thought of what his father had said, how this man threw pictures of Fitz's battered body at him and made him try to get things to go his way.

The hate he had for this man was insurmountable, but the love he had for Olivia was more than his hate. He kicked him in the ribs, tears running through his eyes. He turned to Huck.

"Do what you have to do. I am going to see Liv." He handed Huck the rope. "I can't do it Huck, I just can't, I love Liv too much and killing him will only take me back to a dark place."

Huck couldn't explain the adrenaline that ran through his body when he saw the fear, the hurt, and the conflict in Fitz's eyes. Huck thought of meeting Liv for the first time on the subway. He thought of her being there for him. He thought of how she professed her love for Fitz, just as Fitz did for her now. He wanted nothing more in the world for Fitz and Olivia to be happy.

"Bryce, your guy is coming for Natalie?" Huck asked.

"Yeah, he's five minutes out."

"Take Fitz, Big Gerry can stay with me. Bring Fitz to Liv, I have this here. After you drop Fitz off, come here, in uniform as the Sheriff. You can take Toby and Eric with you after you brief your men."

Bryce nodded. He didn't want to be told anymore. He walked towards Fitz to guide him out, but Big Gerry stopped them.

He stood eye to eye with Fitz. "Son, please know how sorry I am for all of this. I never meant for it to get so out of control, and your torture."

Fitz closed his eyes and shook his head. All he could see was Liv lying in the back seat, sound asleep. "Dad, please, not now, save it, I am exhausted, and I want to be with Olivia right now. She shouldn't have been caught up in all of this. Just save it for another day."

With that, daybreak was beginning, and Fitz headed to the car with Bryce.

Liv looked in shock at Lara. She squinted her eyes bringing her thoughts back to that abandoned house. Suddenly she gasped. "I cut her. Oh my God, I cut her face. She was talking about Fitz's scars with disgust, then she pulled my shirt off. " Liv paused.

"She pulled my shirt off and she…." Liv stopped. She looked up at Lara crossing her arms on her chest as if the shirt she was wearing wasn't covering the scars. "You saw my scars, didn't you?"

Lara shook her head. "Fitz told me about them before I brought you here. He knew you had slit Natalie's face, but he didn't care, all he cared was that you were safe and weren't hurt."

Liv continued to think back. "I asked him not to do anything, not to hurt Logan. Was I unfair for doing that, Lara? That man had Fitz tortured for years, that wasn't fair for me to ask, was it?"

"Liv, I don't know what your state of mind was at that time, but whatever you said, Fitz wasn't offended, like I have said his main concern was getting you to safety."

She rubbed her neck again. She was sore where Huck had given her the needle. "Why does my neck hurt so much?"

Huck gave you a sedative to calm you down. When you were coming to, you began to remember what you did Natalie, and you were going into panic mode."

Liv shook her head. "So, what is happening now? Where is everyone?"

"They weren't expecting someone other than Natalie to be with Logan. They had to figure out what to do with him and the guy at your place. Sparks took Two Shot to County Hospital, and we are just waiting for an update. That's all I know right now. You, ok? Liv, you didn't do anything wrong. You acted in self-defense."

"Right" Liv said, unconvinced. She looked down at her hands. She closed her eyes, as the tears fell from them. "Could you have Chloe come in? I want to lay with her, maybe take a nap together. You said she had a rough night?"

"Yeah, she did, you sure you're alright?"

"I just need a distraction. Who better to do that than Chloe right? I'll be ok once I process everything."

Liv leaned back on the bed. If she hadn't met Fitz, hadn't brought Huck to Vermont, none of this would be happening right now. Why did she come into his life and open all these emotional wounds? She thought back of him telling his story to her at the cabin.

He was so broken, so damaged, yet still found comfort with Olivia. Now, Olivia made things worse. She cut open the face of the woman that kept him alive in Iraq. She put her forehead in her hand and thought of the blade cutting into Natalie's skin. She crossed her arms on her chest. She shivered at the thought.

Liv couldn't admit it didn't feel good doing it, but that's not who Liv is. Now, where is Fitz? She is certain he is torturing Logan, and who knows how long that will take? She just hoped it wouldn't come down to Fitz killing Logan.

She looked around for her cell phone, but there was nothing. It was just a little girl's room, filled with brightness and fun. Liv was feeling far from that right now.

The door opened. Chloe jumped on to the bed. "You wanted to see me Wivvie? I am here for you."

She pulled the little girl close to her, giving her a big hug and rocking her in her arms. "Thank you, Chloe, for taking of me. I wouldn't want another nurse; you are the best."

"Oh, Wivvie, can you tell Awissa and Bwianna that? They think they are so much better than me."

Liv chuckled. She noticed a bit of curiosity come over Chloe's face. "Is everything ok Chloe?"

"I have a qweshon. Are you afwaid of Fitz because of his boo boos on his back?"

Chloe blinked sadly. Liv had no idea Chloe knew about Fitz's scars. "Chloe, how do you know Fitz has boo boos on his back?"

"One day Sophie was watching me and we dwopped food off at Fitz's house. He was in his pool, and I was in the car. When Sophie was talking to him, he turned, and I saw them from the car. No one knows I saw them, but they didn't scare me, they made me sad. Who hurt Fitz, Wivvie?"

Liv pulled Chloe to her chest and laid down with her, caressing her face. "I am going to tell you a story about a hero. A hero named Fitz. Now this little girl Chloe knew right from the beginning that hero loved Olivia and she hoped Olivia would love Fitz back, right.?"

Chloe nodded her head. "Were you afraid I wouldn't love him because of his back?'

"It wooks scawy, but it's not scawy, it's part of Fitz and Fitz is so so in wuv with you. Don't be scawed Wiv."

"I am not scared Chloe, not at all and because they are part of Fitz and I love Fitz, I love the boo boos too."

"Fitz was in the Navy, and he had to go and take care of things to keep our country safe. Sometimes that can be scary, but Fitz was brave. When he went to a different country to take care of things there, that's where he got hurt. They were doing things over in that country and Fitz had to fight to keep us safe here, and that's how he got his boo boos."

"So, Fitz got hurt pwotecting us?"

"Yeah, our nation, our country. He got hurt protecting that."

"I wuv him so so much Wivvie."

"I know, Chloe and he loves you very much and I love him very much."

Chloe yawned up against Liv's chest. The little girl closed her eyes, and Liv heard her fall into a sound sleep. Liv rested her head on Chloe's. Such an observing child, but she holds so much in. How long had she known about Fitz's scars and never said anything? How could someone so young be so loyal?

Liv's thoughts went back to Natalie, back to that dreadful house. She wondered how Two Shot was, she needed to know what was going on. She couldn't stay another minute longer. She looked out Chloe's window. It was the ground floor bedroom. She placed Chloe gently onto to the pillow. She grabbed her sneakers, opened the window, jumped out, and headed in the direction of Fitz's place.

Once Fitz left, Big Gerry turned to Huck. "You ready for this son? I don't want you regretting anything you decide to do."

Huck grew dark. He closed his eyes then opened them. "You didn't hear your son being tortured, Senator. He didn't scream, never did he let them get the best of him, but the sound of his flesh being broken, the blood I had to clean up to fend off infections, that stays with you."

"You just saw the pictures, I heard the sounds, and it broke me Senator, it broke me in a way you can't imagine watching one of our own tortured and sitting back and doing nothing. I owe this to Fitz; I owe this to Olivia. They both saved me, and now I am going to make sure this is put behind them. Are you in?"

Big Gerry scratched his head. He couldn't imagine the torture Logan was going to endure, and it made him anticipate it. "Yes, soldier, I am ready."

Bryce's guy came to stitch up Natalie. By this time, the girl was a bundle of nerves and Huck wouldn't be surprised if she had a full-blown nervous breakdown.

Huck took another needle from the bag. He looked over at Natalie. "What's that for?" She asked nervously.

"As much as I want you to feel your face being stitched up, I am going to spare you. When you wake up, your father will be dead, and unless you want to join us, you will go with the instructions given.

He gave her the sedative, similar to that he gave to Olivia. While Natalie was out cold, the medic stitched up her face. It was a terrible job and the scar it would leave would not be pretty.

"Looks perfect." Huck stared at the site; Olivia certainly didn't hold back. Huck grabbed a wad of cash from his pocket. He handed it to the medic who declined saying this was a favor to Fitz. Huck should his head.

"No, take it because you are doing me a favor also." The medic nodded in appreciation and left.

With her out of the equation, he turned his attention to Logan and the other two. He looked at Big Gerry. "Tell me right now, is there anything you cannot stomach? Something I should know. I mean you're a US Senator for God's sake, you mutilate people all the time, just minus the blood."

Gerry laughed. "No, I have seen it all. I have seen dismembered soldiers return from war; I have seen victims after a terror attack. Whatever you have in mind, I am with you. I owe it to Fitz too."

"Good let's get started. One more thing. How upset will you be when you see Logan take his last breath?"

"Upset? Not in the least. It has been something I've been waiting for years in the making."

Liv arrived out of breath, a bit sweaty and weak as hell to Fitz's house. It was completely empty. No one was there, not even the guy he knocked out. The place was a mess, but that was something that could be fixed.

She found her bag with her wallet. She grabbed a small bag from Fitz's closet. She took what few clothes she had there and grabbed a few of Fitz's T-shirts. She turned and took one last look at the room. She looked at the corner.

It was the corner she found Fitz the first time he had a PTSD attack in her presence. Things seemed so easier back then. She looked down, remembering how lost he was. Then she remembered watching him punch Toby last night. His anger multiplied. It wasn't healthy for him to be around her. Most of his anger came out because of her.

She took a deep breath. There was no turning back now. She had to leave to let him get his life back in order. She looked at the picture he had of them on his nightstand. She grabbed it, putting it in her bag with the clothes.

She looked around the living area, the kitchen, and back to the door. She stepped out and walked towards her car at her place. She only hoped Sophie didn't catch her before she could drive away.

About twenty minutes after Olivia left Fitz's place, he entered with Bryce. He didn't even look around. He entered the downstairs bathroom asking Bryce to grab some fresh clothes for him. He scrubbed away in the shower, wiping off any traces of blood and cleaning his knuckles the best he could.

It burned because he was still raw there having punched Logan over again. He let the water beat down on him thinking of the satisfaction it gave him to hear that man's bones crack because of his hands. He only wished he had it in him to hear the flesh get broken with the rope. He had to draw the line for the sake of Olivia. He couldn't have her thinking he did anything worse than breaking a few bones.

He got back in the car with Bryce. Bryce looked over at him. "Liv is napping with Chloe. Are you sure you don't want to get to the hospital to check up on Two Shot?"

Fitz seemed relieved Liv was getting some sleep. "I guess if anyone can tire out Liv it's Chloe. Yeah, lets' go to the hospital." He looked anxiously at his phone. He wanted to call his father, he wanted to know what was going on, what was happening. He wanted so much to torture to Logan, but he was confident whatever Huck was doing was nothing Fitz couldn't have added up to.

Olivia got into her car. She just needed alone time. She wanted somewhere to think about what she did, why she did it, and how she found the strength in her to do it. She looked at her little house.

Who was she kidding? There was no way she could leave. She was the one who told Fitz he couldn't shut her out and here she was ready to leave him when he needed her most. What would that make her?

It pained her not to know how Monica was doing. The reason Monica was even in love with Two Shot was because of the love they witnessed between her and Fitz. With her hands gripping the steering wheel, she took a deep breath and left the car, walking into her house.

She was quiet in case Monica was sleeping. When she entered, Sophie was sleeping on the couch with the TV on. She had a long night, just like the rest of us. Sophie, Liv looked at her, so loyal to Fitz, such a loving person. Liv shook her head. What was she thinking? She couldn't leave these people behind.

She peered into her bedroom. Monica was there, resting soundly on her bed. She looked very comfortable, much better coloring then when Liv saw her last and Liv took a deep breath. Maybe things would be alright after all.

She entered her spare room with several blankets. She shut her door and set up a place in the corner. She rested on her blankets, pulling them up close to her and fell off to sleep, hoping her dreams wouldn't be intolerable.

Sparks met them in the lobby of the hospital after getting Fitz's texts they were on their way. Two Shot was in surgery now. From the looks of it, he had an injury to the T-4 bone in his spine. Whether he walks again or not remains to be seen.

Fitz took a chair and put his head in his hands. "This is my fault Sparks, This is all my fault. I never should have asked him to get the documents."

"Don't do that, don't blame yourself Fitz. Once you told us about your captivity you set us both in motion. There was no way we were going to let this go."

"How much longer for the surgery? How long has he been in there?"

"Surgery could take as long as five hours. He's been in there around two hours now. I am fine here, you two go, do what you have to do. Even when he's finished, he's going to be in recovery, not awake."

Fitz patted Sparks on the shoulder. "Thank you for staying with him, call me as soon as you hear any news."

"Will do, what's happening on the other front?"

Fitz gave Sparks the summary of what was going down. He was on his way to see Olivia. He told Sparks what had happened to Natalie, and how Olivia wasn't taking it too well. Just at that moment, Bryce's phone rang.

He looked at Fitz after answering it. It looked like he saw a ghost. Fitz crossed his eyebrows. "What is it?"

"It's Liv, she's gone."

Fitz ran towards the exit, Bryce close on his tail. He got into the car. "What did Lara say, what do you mean gone?"

"Chloe came out of the room after waking up from her nap asking where Olivia was. She was confused because Liv was in there with Chloe. Looks like she hopped out the window and took off."

Bryce's phone buzzed again. This time it was Huck asking him to get back there in uniform in a half hour. The plan was just about completed. He looked over at Fitz, staring out the car window. "Fitz, I am sure she is fine, probably just needed some time to process everything."

It was done. Huck placed the lifeless body of Chief Naval Officer Michael Logan adjacent to the injured body of his daughter Natalie. The knife was in the correct position and Big Gerry watched it all go down. Huck was an artist at torture, it scared him that the government was able to train him so well. He wondered how many more "Hucks" were lurking in the world.

While Logan took his last breath, Gerry thought back to the threats and all the pictures Logan showed him of Fitz's damaged body. He couldn't help to feel some gratification knowing that man was leaving this earth before he was. His son may not see it as such, but he was getting his due justice.

Fitz would always have the scars of what was done under Logan's orders, but at least he now knew the truth. Gerry was so deep in thought he didn't hear Huck.

"Gerry, do it, you have to do it." Gerry looked down at the blade Huck had handed him. He had to slit his chest and his stomach. Of course, not deep, but enough to look like he was attacked. He closed his eyes, he thought of Fitz and the bravery his son had shown of two damn years in the grueling desert and he did to his body what he had to do.

Huck took Gerry to the car and waited for Bryce to arrive. He was starting to feel the adrenaline wear off, and he needed sleep soon. His body was exhausted, but he had to do one last thing.

He went back into the house. He placed a paper in Logan's pocket. Next to his body, he put the classified documents that Big Gerry had in his possession about the terror attacks.

Bryce left Fitz with Lara. Together they were going to have to figure out what was going on with Liv. He dressed in uniform, called three of his most trusted officers, guys he grew up with and sent them to the houses.

Bryce was the first to arrive on the scene, taking Toby and Eric to the squad car. When the other car drove up, he described the scene inside to them, and they called in for medical assistance.

Upon hearing the call for an ambulance on the radio, it wasn't long before the media was on the scene. Everything started to unfold just as they planned and Bryce handled it like a true law enforcement professional, all for Fitz. He wasn't going to get this wrong, not this time, and Fitz deserved his closure.

Huck and Gerry arrived back at Fitz's place. Huck took a quick shower, and took one of the beds in Fitz's guest rooms. After killing the Chief Naval Officer of the United States, Huck slept soundly knowing he did justice and took a traitor away from the country. He still wasn't aware that no one could find Olivia.

Fitz sat with Lara as he told her about the conversation she had with Olivia. Chloe told Fitz she had fallen asleep hugging Olivia and that Olivia said she loved him very much. Fitz rubbed his hands through his hair. Olivia didn't even have her cell phone, as he was in possession of it.

"I'm so sowwy Fitz. I didn't take care of her too well." Chloe began to cry and Fitz lifted her into his arms.

"No, Chloe, you did a wonderful job taking care of her. Livvie just needed some time to go take a walk. We will find her, this isn't your fault."

Abby sat next to Fitz, telling him they would find her, that she just needed some time alone, Abby was sure of it.

Lara offered to drive Fitz back to his place. Fitz agreed, but wanted to stop by Sophie and Monica to see if Liv maybe went back to her place. Just as they were about to leave, the television speaker blared about an interruption and breaking news.

Chloe, having grown bored of the adult conversation, joined her sisters in playing dolls in the next room. Fitz stood hypnotized to the television hanging on every word the broadcaster was saying. In the background, as the footage was live, two men were carrying out a body bag, and Fitz felt an overwhelming weight come off his shoulders.

There was no doubt in his mind he was watching the body of Chief Naval Officer Michael Logan being carried out. Huck had done exactly what he said he would do, and Fitz would be forever grateful for having him in his life.

"In a stunning discovery, Sheriff Officers here is Rutland came upon a bloody scene while checking for looters in an abandoned house. The body of United States Chief Naval Officer Michael Logan was discovered, dead from an apparent suicide. His daughter, Natalie Logan and employee at the United States Pentagon was found with her face slashed lying next to her father. Investigation is ongoing and Sheriff Bryce McClellan declined to comment at this time We will have more coverage as more details from this horrific case continue to unfold."

Big Gerry, Sophie, and Sparks were watching the same footage as Fitz was watching. Each of them knew some truth to what went down and why there was a dead body of a significant Naval Officer found in the tiny town of Rutland, now if only they could make sure the public believes the reasons he was in that tiny town to begin with.

Fitz left after the broadcaster signed off and Lara took him to Olivia's house first. He saw Olivia's car still in the driveway and he breathed a sigh of relief. He ran to the porch, looking through the window and seeing Sophie watching the coverage of the news.

He opened the door so he could explain to Sophie what was happening. As she turned around, she jumped from the couch to hug him. "Thank God you are alright, where is Olivia?"

"I have no idea, I thought she would be here, you haven't seen her?"

Sophie shook her head. "She certainly hasn't been here. Sophie walked to Liv's room. Monica was still sleeping. She walked in and gently nudged the young lady. Monica sat up. "Honey, do you think you are strong enough to go to Fitz's place?"

Monica got her bearings, looked over at Fitz standing in the doorway. "Where's Samuel?"

"Why don't you come to my place, this way we can all sit down and talk. My father is there and I don't want to keep him waiting."

Fitz helped Sophie get Monica up and walking. He unknowingly passed the closed bedroom door never thinking Olivia was sound asleep in there. Instead, as he was helping Monica, his mind was thinking of all the places Liv could be by now.

He didn't show it, but he was dying inside. He needed to see her, needed her comfort, and most of all needed to talk to her before she heard the news about Logan from the television and not from him. Of all people he wanted to know the truth, it was Olivia.

"She's not there." He looked hopelessly at Lara. "My father would have told me if she was at my place. Lara, where could she have gone?"

Lara put the car in drive heading to Fitz's place. "Don't worry, Fitz, she's fine. We'll find her." Even as she spoke the words, though, Lara had a hard time convincing herself those words were true.

About ten minutes after Lara drove away with Fitz, Olivia woke up. She wrapped a blanket around herself and made her way out to see if Sophie had awakened.

She heard the television, but there was no sign of Sophie. She looked into her bedroom, there was no sign of Monica either. She glanced back at the TV as she saw the coverage being replayed. She read the display at the bottom. "Body of Chief Naval Officer Michael Logan found in an abandoned house in Rutland." Olivia dropped the blanket and covered her mouth in shock.

She backed up against the wall as she continued to stare at the TV. Behind the body bag, there was a woman being helped out by Bryce and another officer. Liv looked closely, as close as she could and saw the damage she had done to Natalie. It was hideous.

All Liv could do at that moment was sink to the floor covering her face with her hands. "What did I do?"

Alone, and no one knowing where she was, Olivia stayed cradled on the floor, sobbing. Fitz had killed Logan and she had scarred his daughter for life. How were they ever going to make it through this?
