Chapter 38

"I am so excited for you Fitz; I am excited for everything finally falling into place for you and getting the life you secluded yourself from for so many years." Olivia rubbed Fitz's face. She was sitting in the hot tub with him in the backyard on the deck of the Rutland house they would one day call home.

Liv was in between his legs. They were relaxing their bodies after a day's worth of staying in bed, just making love, holding each other, and talking about the upcoming baseball season. When Liv began touching his face, Fitz was enjoying the feeling as he rubbed her smooth skin from behind in the warm water.

He leaned over and kissed her neck, in which she tilted her head, signaling to him how much she enjoyed the touch of his lips on her neck. She let out a small moan and continued rubbing his cheek back to his wet curls.

"I couldn't have done any of it without you by my side. I have told you time and again that you make my life complete Livvie. I was so dark until you brought the light." He put his head back as she turned her head and faced him. His eyes were so serious, so gray, and Liv could do nothing but pull his lips to hers to kiss him. He did the same thing to her, completing her, bringing her in from a darkness and having her accept her body.

Rutland was now coming down from all the events that occurred. They were waiting patiently for Fitz's interview to be broadcasted. Jared Anderson, the young reporter Fitz had chosen to do the interview had just edited it and had brought it to the news outlets.

The footage would be released on a nationally broadcasted station just before opening day for the Lake Monsters. It was a way for Fitz to get publicity for his upcoming days at the ballpark that would honor veterans, POW's, MIA's. Liv was right, things were falling into place, right where he wanted them.

The Mellie front was now history also. Fitz closed all communication with her. He told his father, no speaking of her, nothing. He didn't want to know anything about her, as far as Fitz was concerned, he never heard of Mellie, and never wanted to again. Liv surely had no objection.

It just gave Olivia chills knowing there would be an offspring of DJ's out there, but that's on Mellie. She would never step foot in Rutland again, not after what her baby daddy did there.

In the month since the incident with DJ, they had visited Janey Loomis, a couple's therapist just outside of Rutland. Janey had heard Fitz's story through the news outlets and was honored they had chosen her. They had three sessions and were told they were fine as a couple. Janey just reminded them to never stop telling each other their true feelings.

Neither one of them blamed each other for what had transpired the past few months, in fact it made their love grow stronger. It built a bond, quite like a cement wall, that would be difficult to break. Janey thought it was genius how Fitz took Liv to the cabin and Liv took Fitz to the Inner Harbor. She said it was proof right there how they put each other's feelings first, along with their own.

The most important factor was the acceptance they both had for each other and the scars they carried physically and mentally. "It's things like that, the love beyond the scars that matters." Even though Liv had heard her mother say those words first, they were still powerful in continuing to move forward with Fitz.

Although Liv was still shaken up by what happened with DJ, her near sexual assault, Janey had advised Fitz and Liv to continue the affection, and if Liv felt uncomfortable in any way to tell Fitz.

Fitz understood and would never hold any anger towards Liv for feeling uncomfortable. One thing about Olivia, she would never back away from Fitz's touch. She loved him too much, and the security he would always give her would be something Liv would cherish.

This past week at therapy had them all laughing, ironically. Liv was most concerned with the baseball season starting. Fitz was set to leave for Tampa for spring training for a two week stay with the team. Olivia would join him for the second week. The first week would be team meetings and organization for the upcoming season. The pressure on Liv to be humble towards a rivaled Yankees opponent had her nervous.

Fitz didn't see the competitive side of her when it came to her Yankees, and maybe, in the presence of a therapist she felt it would be better to warn Fitz. When the session ended, Fitz just busted out laughing and Liv followed. Janey needed in on the joke. "What's so funny?" she asked looking cautiously at them.

"I can just see the headline now. Former POW beat with a foam hand in luxury suite after Yankees embarrassing loss to the Lake Monsters." Fitz laughed through his words.

"Oh, honey, I would never physically attack you. I would just withhold sex. If the Yankees lost, which they won't, by six runs, then no sex for six days." Liv just shrugged and her laughter began as his stopped and he looked at her stunned.

"You wouldn't."

"We'll see." She cupped his cheeks and kissed him lightly.

"You two." Janey shook her head. "You two are just fine. Go enjoy your travels, and remember honesty, always. I'll see you again in September."

Now, sitting in the hot tub, pulling back from her kiss, Liv began talking again. "So, are you excited? We have a busy few weeks coming up."

"We sure do." Fitz' baritone voice vibrated her ear drum, and Liv had to close her eyes to calm her body down, as his arms enclosed around her chest.

"I think Chloe will be most excited out of all of us." Liv said, bringing herself back to down.

"I think you're right. We should go over there. Bryce is off tonight, and we can talk to Lara and him together. This way they can do some planning of their own."

"That sounds like a plan. We should lay it all out for them, they are the parents after all."

After the incident with DJ, Mayor Anderson resigned and pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting a fugitive. He was sentenced to six months in prison. Rutland, being without a mayor had to hold an emergency council meeting.

It was unanimously decided that the best person for mayor would be Lara McClellan. With Chloe beginning preschool in September, she would have her days to spend at the office. They had also appointed a new position, deputy mayor which Abby stepped up to do.

In the upcoming months, they would work with City Hall to put procedures into place and review the bylaws and laws of Rutland. Before Lara got into a tailspin she happily accepted, Liv and Fitz wanted to the take Chloe, then her sisters, having all three of them so Bryce and Lara could have some alone, down time.

The only catch, Lara and Bryce had no idea what Fitz and Liv had planned. They were eager to tell the McClellan's. Liv and Fitz had planned well into the month of August what they hoped their schedule would look like. They had their months planned out, and Olivia could understand why Rutland loved Fitz. He just didn't know the word stop when it came to giving. He also put Liv first no matter what.

He truly took care of the people he loved. For each week there was always a wellness check on Sammy (no longer being called Two Shot.) and Monica. He planned a vacation get away for Lara and Bryce, wanted to add on a bakery for Leo onto Sophie's place, and wanted to volunteer for Huck when he could.

Between all of this, time for him and Liv to have. Mid July, during the all-star break, they would be visiting the cabin again, something Liv was looking forward to already. Fitz was most excited for the trips to the east coast ballparks. He hadn't really lived the past five years and he was beginning to now, with Liv by his side.

Liv straddled her body, now in the hot tub, so they were facing each other. She wrapped her arms around his neck, looking him in the eyes. "Before everything gets put in motion, I love you Mr. Grant. I love everything about you. Your heart, your giving, your everything." Close to tears for the love she had for him, she buried her mouth on to his.

She felt his hands rub her back, making it wet with hot tub water, but that wasn't the only thing he was making wet. Fitz devoured her lips, interlocking his arms tightly around, her, as they continued their kiss. She felt his erection immediately.

He stood up, lifting her with him. They both grabbed a towel and quickly went back into the house, making Daisy move quickly from the door she was guarding as they were out on the deck. He scooped her back up as he sat on the soft couch, Liv straddling him once again, cupping his face.

Liv pulled back, putting her head up as Fitz kissed her chin. Janey wanted honesty, to be honest, Liv wanted to feel him inside her. Her body rose, just enough, and she lined his hardened dick right into her entrance as her towel fell to the floor.

Fitz's mouth was against her, kissing between her breasts as he felt her glide down on top of him. His moan, loud, but pleasuring, as Liv buried her head into the crook of his neck a feeling of comfort overtaking her body.

"To be honest Fitz, this is where I always want to be, but I didn't want to share it at therapy." She softly moved her lips around his neck, just outlining his skin with her touch.

Fitz was completely lost in the feeling. His arms wrapped around her, as her movement up and down continued. Once her lips made their way back to his, he put his tongue deep into her mouth and held her body steady.

With his hand now on the base of neck in the back, he picked up the pace, feeling her melt in his arms taking all his tongue as she moaned. She tried to pull back to take a breath, but he held her right there as her eyes shut tight, feeling her pending release.

He finally pulled his tongue out, buried his face in her neck as her deep breaths called his name. He watched, releasing into her, breathing her name as well.

Her forehead resting on his shoulder for a minute. "We're not getting much accomplished like this."

"Well, you were the one being honest." He smiled and stood up again with her still in his arms, holding tight to her as she reached for the towels. He finally released the hold he had on her; hearing Liv take a deep breath.

After he wrapped his towel around his waist, he cupped her face in his hands. "I love you Olivia, let's get set on this journey together."

Lara was hesitant at first to send Chloe to speak to anyone about the event that happened with DJ. She was afraid it would come out what really happened, but Olivia made certain Lara would be there and if Lara wanted, so would Liv.

Chloe's sessions were twice a week, and Liv had gone to 5 of her ten sessions. Chloe just thought her therapist, Jackie, was another friend from Rutland. She embraced Jackie, not holding back anything, coloring mostly through her hour-long sessions.

"I'm not having bad dweams anymore because Wivvie is safe, and Huck showed me how to defend myself. Daddy told me DJ dwove into the water. I am not supwised, he was a tewwible dwiver, right Wivvie?" Lara was thinking back to one of Chloe's sessions.

Liv had to smile. "Right, Chloe, he was, and I am safe because of you and what you learned from Huck." After the tenth session, Lara called Liv. Jackie was certain Chloe doesn't have a clue that DJ died as a result of her kick. Chloe was a happy child, and Lara could admit, much happier now that DJ was out of their lives for good.

Liv and Fitz were now sitting at the dining table with Lara and Bryce. Alyssa and Brianna due back any moment from school and Chloe in her room taking an afternoon nap.

"Are you two out of your minds? Why would you volunteer to take them? I mean, yeah, they're good girls, but you know how they can get at each other's throats." Lara was saying yes regardless, but she had to show her doubts for a moment.

Bryce looked at Fitz. "This is over the top man. You sure about this?"

Fitz nodded his head, "very sure. Sparks is with Letecia and the boys down in Tampa now. Monica and Sammy are doing work remotely from Liv's place, I'm set to go the day after tomorrow and we'll be back for opening day. We want you two to have a vacation, a well-deserved time away from Rutland vacation."

"I am going to stay behind for a week. I'll be with Monica and Sammy just getting the house in order and letting Daisy get used to the two of them. Monica decided to work remotely doing her job as a scouting agent. With her pregnancy the company is giving her more paperwork than fieldwork." Olivia was telling them. "They are going to dog sit Daisy while we're all gone for a bit."

Bryce looked at Lara and shrugged. "When was the last time we had alone time?"

Lara looked down. He was right. Now, with her becoming mayor, it would be even harder, so they had to jump on the chance.

Chloe would go with Olivia down to Tampa and do activities with the team at spring training. Since Sparks would be there with the kids, Chloe wouldn't be alone. The week before opening day, the final week of spring training, Sparks would stay and Fitz and Liv would get Alyssa and Brianna, as they would be on spring break from school.

While Lara and Bryce were away, the destination of their choosing, Fitz and Liv would spend ten days in NY with the girls. It was promised to them anyway, and it would be the perfect time. So, when Chloe was with Liv in Tampa, Lara would have the days alone to get herself prepared to be mayor, then the vacation could begin once all the girls were away.

It all sounded to good to be true, but it was true, and Lara and Bryce couldn't thank them enough. Liv even suggested she take Chloe the week Fitz was in Tampa. Liv could use the company during the day in Rutland.

Liv explained Huck was also heading back to NY, and he had to put some financials in place with the MMA, Chloe would be elated to hang there with them, while Liv helped him, Huck would let Chloe even plan events. So, even though still in Rutland, Chloe would be with Liv at the MMA. "Maybe I can train her to be a female CEO also." Liv laughed.

"Wivvie, Fitz," Chloe walked out of her room, rubbing her eyes and holding a doll. She jumped into Fitz's lap and rubbed her nose with his. "I missed you. Fitz, how is your daddy? How is Gewwy?"

Liv looked at Fitz, his eyes melting at the question from his young friend. "Actually, Chloe, thank you for asking, he is doing good. In fact, he's coming here this summer and is going to spend some time getting to know Rutland."

"Oh, that's so so exciting, wight Wivvie?"

"Sure is butterfly. When the weather begins to get cold here, we are going to California to spend some time with him." Gerry had insisted Liv come to the ranch to meet Fitz's family.

Alyssa and Brianna walked in dropping their book bags and joining everyone at the table. "This looks serious Brianna; we better sit down." Alyssa had advised her younger sister.

Lara began telling the girls the plan. Before Lara said anything about Chloe going with Liv, she mentioned what the girls would be doing on Spring break. They immediately began talking about NY outfits they had to prepare, they didn't even hear the rest.

Chloe did hear the rest. She squealed with delight knowing she would have a week alone with Liv and Fitz and her two best friends, DJ and Owen.

One of the sessions brought up that her best friend was named DJ and Chloe said "yeah, but he isn't the meanie DJ, so I still wuv him."

Alyssa and Brianna didn't want to wait another second from planning their upcoming vacation. Brianna got up from the table and gave Liv and Fitz a big hug. "Thank you so much." She turned towards her parents. "What about you, what will you do when we are gone?"

Lara turned to her oldest, "Alyssa would you like to help up pick a place to go on vacation?"

Alyssa's mouth opened in surprise. "Really, I can pick it for you? This will be amazing. I would love to." She jumped up and hugged them both. "You two deserve to go away alone." She turned towards Liv and Fitz. "Thank you so much."

Leaving the McClellan's a happy bunch, Liv and Fitz headed towards Sophie's to have dinner with her, Abby, and Leo. On the way there, they had passed the MMA building. The teenage group was training, and you could see Huck through the glass. He had two with him, showing them form for karate.

Liv caught a glimpse of Huck's three buddies who had now made Rutland their home. They had fit in nicely, and one had even taken a job with Sophie helping in the kitchen. When "Sizzle" as he was known was in the Army, he was a chef. Sophie took an instant liking to him and was happy to have some help when Huck didn't need him at the academy.

"After dinner, I am stopping in to see Huck." Fitz turned to Liv. "I want to do a little boxing before I head out and he heads out. You mind hanging around with Abby for a bit while I go?"

"Leaving me for Huck? Do I have any chance with that kind of competition?"

As Fitz put the car in park, he leaned over. Kissing her on her cheek, he said "No one will ever have a chance with me, it's only you Livvie."

"Ok, then box away my man."

Before Fitz headed to Huck's gym to pound fists, they had a wonderful dinner. Liv will admit she had a bit too much wine, but it was worth it.

Fitz laid out the plans for the extension for a new bakery onto Sophie's building on Main Street. Leo stood next to him looking at the prints, in total gratification of what was being planned. If all went as scheduled, the bakery would be set to open in time for the fall season.

Leo could work on his pumpkin bread, his apple pies, his cinnamon sugar cookies and whatever else he could do with all the fall food. With Abby taking the reigns as Lara's deputy, she would have less time to help in the store.

Huck had secured help with his buddies from the Army. Sizzle would help Sophie in the kitchen. Freddy "Fryday" Lopez and Billy "Pops" Russo would hold the fort down at the MMA, so Abby didn't have to take that on as well.

"You really do have this all planned out don't you." Abby shook her head looking at Fitz. She turned to Olivia. "This is how he was when he first came to Rutland. He was ambitious, determined and so giving. The only difference now, he isn't working behind the scenes. He is making his giving and his appearance known, that's what is great about all this." She gave him a big hug. "Thank you" she whispered in his ear. "Time to propose yet?"

Fitz smirked and looked over at Liv. She was helping Sophie clean up the table, oblivious to the conversation Fitz was having with Abby. "In due time Abby, I have something very special planned. She'll be my forever, if she wants to be, it just has to be the right time."

"Oh, Fitz, don't doubt it, she loves you so much. You two are perfect together and all you have been through, she's still here." Abby rubbed his shoulder and went to help Leo get dessert.

Fitz was looking out the bay window in Sophie's living room. He was daydreaming about his days in captivity boxing with Huck. Although he practiced at times in his basement, he wanted to break in Huck's academy by boxing with him tonight.

There would be a span of two months he wouldn't see Huck, and this could be a friendly goodbye. He felt Liv's arms wrap around his waist from behind. "What are you thinking about, Mister?", she giggled a bit. "I hope it's the same thing I am thinking about. We have a week's worth of being away to make up for." She kissed his back.

He turned to her and wrapped his arms around her. "I am thinking about Huck."

"Wow, mood killer, huh. Fine, have your Huck dreams."

"You're drunk." Fitz laughed.

"Not drunk, I'm feeling good, until my boyfriend said he was thinking of another man."

"I was thinking about boxing with Huck. I am looking forward to it. In fact, I am going to skip dessert. You enjoy the time with them." He nodded over to the table. "I'll see you in an hour."

She kissed him gently on the lips, he tasted the wine. Now he couldn't wait to get home with her. She was so good in bed with alcohol in her.

Liv pulled him down so his ear was at her lips. "I know what you're thinking, and that's exactly what I'm thinking too. See you in an hour."

"I am heading over to Huck's. Abby, no driving for my Livvie here, I'm walking over, so you can drive her there. I'll drive you back here." He looked at Liv.

"Love you too gorgeous." She waved picking up one of Leo's snickerdoodle cookies.

On his way over to the academy, Fitz was deep in thought. He knew he had to be honest with Liv, but at times it still scared him to be so open, especially about his captivity. Sure, he gave the basics and now that the public knew he kept what he could at a privacy level.

He still had so much anger inside of him, so much hurt of being captured and he was afraid it would never go away. He longed for revenge for Liv for what happened with DJ, but he had to let that go. It was just a trigger though, a trigger to his anger.

The real reason for going to see Huck was he understood. He knew the anger, he knew how to release it from Fitz. So many emotions came out in that hot desert when he was boxing with Huck. It was therapy, and with everything that had transpired, he hadn't had that time with Huck.

The time boxing with him during captivity was the only bright spot about those two years. He was hoping now Huck could bring him to understand these feelings were normal. He just didn't want Liv to witness the anger that could come out during the boxing time. That's why he didn't practice too much at his home with her being there.

Fitz would be honest with her, he had every intention, just as Janey advised. The honestly about his anger consuming him though would come after tonight and his rounds with Huck. If they were anything like they were in the desert, Liv would deserve some explanation anyway.

"What brings you here?" Huck opened the locked door for Fitz.

"Just thought we would go some rounds, you know like old times. Your buddies gone?" Fitz looked around.

"Headed home about fifteen minutes ago. You ok?" Huck crossed his eyebrows concerned for his friend.

"It's hard Huck, knowing all Liv has been thorough as a result of my stupidity. It's hard to look at her and not get angry with myself. The need to punch something. You know, because it was my stupidity that got me captured to begin with. It just feels full circle with Liv now." He shook his head having a hard time continuing.

Huck walked towards the back where the ring was. He grabbed two pairs of boxing gloves, two helmets, and mouthpieces. "Come on Fitz, we've been over this. That capture was not your fault, and I understand with everything coming out how it did, and so quickly, it's been rough to process, but you can't do this, you're on the right road, especially with Liv. You know she thinks the world of you."

"I see that face, Huck." Fitz closed his eyes. "I see DJ's face, I see his hand touching Liv, ready to attack. It's like I am looking at it happen live and I am frozen, like I can't do anything to stop it. Just like…."

"Just like the lashings." Huck didn't let him finish. "You couldn't do anything about the lashings, and now you're thinking DJ damaged Liv."

Fitz sucked in the anger through his teeth. He entered the ring, and Huck began with the first swing, nailing Fitz under his jaw, right side.

Fitz, shirtless retaliated with a left to Huck's right cheek. It didn't faze Huck at all, as he danced it off, shaking his head.

Fitz heard the sobbing Olivia did in the shower that night. That sobbing, something he should have protected her from. He took another swing, getting Huck under his right jaw, as Huck came back with a right to Fitz's left cheekbone.

"Let it go Fitz, there's nothing you could've done. The guy was a maniac and we got him, he got his. Liv is strong you know that."

The punch lightened a bit, but Huck still felt it hit his left eye. It felt good, Huck must admit, as he clocked a solid right to the left side of Fitz's mouth.

"Oooh, that was cheap Huck, you know that." Fitz put his hand on Huck's head, holding him back and took a jab at his stomach. "Still have the hidden abs huh.?"

Huck laughed. "You know it" He saw Fitz laugh. "Feeling better?"

"Yeah, feeling better." They met in the middle of the ring, pounding each other's gloves. "Think I'll use the punching bag for a bit."

"Good, I need to clean up a little. I'm serious man, let this go. If Liv is feeling anything she'll tell you."

As Huck was opening the door for Fitz into the academy, Liv had time to sit with Abby. Sophie had called it a night, and Leo was going to look more at the prints Fitz had given him.

"You ok? I know you had your share of wine, but I also know you aren't piss ass drunk." Abby led Olivia to the couch.

"Yeah, I am good, a bit nervous but good. Things have been great with us, they really have, but I just think he holds so much guilt with what happened with DJ. He can't Abby, it wasn't on him."

"When Fitz first came to Rutland, he was mysterious. Everyone knew he had a heart of gold, but the seclusion had others question his sanity. When my mom became close to him and found out his story, she assured the town to settle down and let him be." Abby continued.

"I think that gave Fitz the time he needed to bottle up his anger from being captured, and he secluded himself. I think bottling up that anger caused his PTSD, and we felt helpless. Then, you came along, and Liv, he's just amazing now, he really is."

Liv nodded, "I know that Abby. I just." Liv shrugged. "I just want to give him those two years back. It pains me every day to know he lost two years of his life. I just didn't think he would embrace me the way he has, even after finding out my story."

"Why did you come to Rutland?" Abby looked seriously at Liv, knowing the reason, but wanting to hear it again.

Liv thought back to Harold, to Betty, to the sleepless nights, and the endless work days. She thought back to wanting to leave, to run a bake sale at school, to be normal. "I wanted a better life. I wanted.

"You wanted to be a wife and mother. You just didn't expect you would fall in love so quickly after you set out to do it." Abby finished it for her.

Liv blinked in agreement. "This is true. I fell hard and I fell fast and now, I want it, I want it so much, but we just can't seem to catch a break, until now."

"Until now." Abby agreed. "Fitz will be working, you'll be with him, you'll have some time to play parents to the ABC girls. This is it Liv, this is your trial, your time to shine, with the man you love, you get it?"

"Yeah, I get it." She downed the last of her wine. "Let's go get my man before the alcohol makes me not get it."

They both laughed. "You're going to make a beautiful bride, Olivia." Abby smiled as they walked to the door.

Upon entering the academy, Liv took one look at Fitz, shirtless, sweating, and punching the bag. He didn't know she was watching yet, and Liv felt her heart stop because she wasn't giving it any air. He looked so gorgeous but so broken at the same time.

He took a final swing at the bag, having it spin and move so he saw Liv watching him. He held the bag to stop moving and just stared at Liv. His face red from where the helmet had left marks from the hits he took from Huck.

Liv looked at his hands, taped at the knuckles but without gloves. For a moment that seemed like an hour they just looked at each other. Liv walked slowly over to him and it was more noticeable how sweaty he was, as his hair was soaked.

It didn't matter, she needed to feel him, to hug him, because he just looked lost. He rested his chin on her head, as she hugged him. She rubbed his back, over the scars, as he closed his eyes to her touch. He looked down at her and their eyes met again.

"Tell me Fitz, tell me about the anger."

"I will Liv, I promise I will. Let's just go home." Fitz turned to get ready, and Liv headed back to the door.

"He'll be fine Liv." Huck reassured her. "He just needs to find a way to let it out so it doesn't scare you."

"He can never scare me Huck, that phase is long gone."

"We all know that, but he has to convince himself. I have no doubt it will be fine. You still hanging here next week?"

"Yep, with Chloe. Girl boss will be here so watch it."

Liv smiled when Fitz joined them. Fitz saw that smile and he knew he would be fine; everything would be fine. "Your smile lights up my world Livvie." He kissed her.

Huck patted his back. "See you in a few months, take it easy ok. And if you think you have anger issues, watch when the Yankees lose, talk about scary." He nodded towards Liv.

Fitz looked at her. Liv shrugged. "Hope you have spare boxing gloves at the house." She walked out, to join Abby in the car.

Winding down from a long day, Fitz had just finished showering. Liv was waiting for him in bed, having two more glasses of wine as she waited. She was having a hard time staying awake now, but wanted to talk to him.

He joined her, as Daisy jumped down from the bed. She was in a white tank, silk pajama short bottoms and her head found his chest immediately. "I enjoyed being Rutland's giving first lady today. You are amazing Fitz, giving so much to better the town."

"Tomorrow it's Monica and Sammy's turn. I would love for them to stay and raise the baby in Rutland. Sammy never was settled anywhere, maybe we could find a place for them here. He's establishing himself with the therapy here, and he's determined to walk again by the time the baby is born."

"What are you suggesting?"

"Getting plans in motion to build their own house. There's land across the street. I don't know, I just want the people I love close to me." He pulled her closer to him.

"Fitz" Liv rubbed his chest. "It's ok to be angry when you think about what DJ did, but you must stop blaming yourself. You're comparing it to when you were captured and it's nowhere near that level."

"Liv, he."

"He did nothing. He was a desperate man looking for some way out of a mess he created. It happened, but you know what, it didn't last two years. It didn't take two years of my life away. I am fine and we need to begin building those two years back for you." They were facing each other now.

Fitz shook his head. He caressed her cheek. She stopped his hand, saw some cuts from the boxing, and kissed them. "I am looking so forward to next week with Chloe, the following week in Tampa, and then ten days with the girls. Let's focus on that, because it's our practice to one day be parents."

Fitz's face dropped. "Parents." He repeated slowly. "You, Liv, the mother of my children, of our children."

"That's how much I love you Fitz. Being able to plan a life with you, to be so sure of something without any hesitation or doubt. Speaking of parents, I was hoping to get mom here, for August when you have the game for the accident families."

"Awesome, let's do it."

"I'll call her in the morning. I need my mind to clear before talking to Maya." She smiled at Fitz.

Fitz's phone buzzed. "Sparks, giving me an update from Tampa." He kissed her as he took the call in his office.

When he returned, she had fallen asleep, no doubt the wine catching up to her. He pulled the blanket over her up to her beautiful breasts. She was peaceful on her back, her hand, per usual, on her stomach right on his favorite scar.

Fitz slowly got into bed with the woman he loves. Looking at her, imagining a baby in her arms. For that moment, all his anger left his body as he took a deep breath. He kissed her forehead, and caressed her cheek, down to her shoulder.

Fitz turned to his stomach, keeping his arm around Liv, his hand on her shoulder. He continued to look at her, to imagine the dark-haired newborn that would one day fill her arms. The sound of a child one day calling him daddy. He closed his eyes as his anger, for now subsided. He let his thoughts of Liv calm him.

As Fitz fell asleep, he had no idea when he was walking away to answer his call, Liv watched him. She couldn't wait for the day their child called him daddy. She saw a light-haired newborn in his arms as he gently rocked the baby to sleep.

There would be no anger in doing that, no guilt in his body. Liv would be living the dream she set out to have when she arrived in Rutland. Her life was beginning again, and as she closed her eyes, she anticipated the days to come and the joy she would embrace living them with the man she loves.
