A/N: Still there readers? It's been a rough month and I couldn't get this down on paper fast enough. Hope it was worth the wait. Happy reading and enjoy your weekend. I would love to hear your reviews.
Chapter 44
Big Gerry, upon Liv and Fitz's arrival in Santa Barbara, made his way up to the room with Lucia. Fitz knew something was up the second Lucia found out their earlier than scheduled visit was a surprise.
Big Gerry and Lucia sat in Fitz's childhood bedroom. "So", Gerry began, "you kids came early, without warning, and we have a weekend getaway planned to Punta Cana." Gerry looked at them. "Lucia has agreed to become my wife and we are getting married there."
Olivia covered her mouth in excitement and Fitz just smirked. "Wow, dad, a wife. I didn't know you had it in you. Lucia, I've loved you like a mom my whole life, you deserve happiness…
"Fitz." Lucia stopped him. Her eyes were filling with tears. "te quiero, hijo." She rubbed his face and pulled him down for a hug. "Eres mi heroe." Her arms wrapped tight around Fitz squeezing him.
Liv began to cry, trying to blink back the tears, but to see the love she had for Fitz, it just warmed her heart. She looked at Gerry who was staring down at his feet, hands in his back jean pockets. She walked to him and hugged him. "Congratulations, I can't wait to celebrate your love for one another when you come back."
"Can't make the night too long, we are off in a few." Gerry said, trying not to get emotional. He looked at Fitz, not yet ready to give him a hug.
It had been an extremely long night for Edison Davis in Rutland. As he tried to outrun Huck, he just kept hearing Huck's walking footsteps getting closer. The faster Edison ran, the closer the footsteps sounded, and his heart was pounding right out of his chest.
At this rate, Edison was even trying to get back to the main road, he would be luckier if he was back in police custody. A jail cell in the town of Rutland seemed like an island resort compared to what Huck would give him if he was caught by him.
As Edison continued run, the IF he was caught was becoming a WHEN he was caught. He couldn't run much faster, never mind much longer. With his heart pounding, he was bound to give himself heart failure, again, he thought, much better than Huck catching him.
Huck was walking slowly; Huck wasn't in a rush. He knew Edison had no where to hide. What Edison didn't know is Huck was thinking, and it's very dangerous when Huck thinks. When he was driving to Edison's trailer, he was thinking about Fitz in captivity, now he was thinking about Liv.
He thought about her working in NY, dating Edison. There was times Edison would call, make Olivia feel guilty for not wanting go to dinner with him, get upset with her for days if she stuck to her decision to stay at the office. He saw how the stress of dating him then trying to get rid of him took its toll on her.
Huck's eyebrows were crossed in fury. Edison didn't know about the scars Liv had. He didn't know Liv was emotionally damaged from that accident and there was a reason she never told Edison. She didn't trust Edison and Liv was always sorry she was in a relationship with him at all.
No matter how many times Liv tried to call it off, he came crawling back to her, making her feel guilty, feel as though she hurt him. Huck hated sitting back and watching that, but it wasn't his place to say anything, just to protect her.
The night Liv decided to come to Rutland, to build her new life, he knew what Edison did to her. Huck never told Liv, but he knew about the bruises he gave her, and from that moment Huck wanted this guy dead. He would have done it sooner, but then when the connection to Fitz came in, him going to Rutland and starting a business, Edison was the farthest person from his mind, until now.
Closing his eyes and smelling the night air, the fresh, crisp, Vermont air, he could taste his revenge. This is going to be one for the Huck books. He saw some flashing lights beyond the trees, and Huck picked up his pace a bit. He could begin to smell Edison's sweat, and what a sweet smell that was. He thought of Fitz and Liv happy in Santa Barbara now and grateful they weren't here with Edison on the prowl.
Deciding against pulling his father in for a hug, Fitz said, "Let's go downstairs." He looked at his father and soon to be stepmom. "I could use a drink."
Sitting on the softest couch ever, Liv sunk down into Fitz with his arm wrapped around her. Before Lucia sat down, she looked at the kitchen and down at Fitz and Liv. "Are you hungry?" She folded her hands waiting for an answer.
Fitz shook his head. "No, no, you two have to get going. Sit for a few minutes." He took a sip of his scotch. He smiled at Big Gerry who was sitting across from him on a recliner and Liv knew he was about to share the news. She pulled his hand to her mouth and gave it a small kiss, smiling.
"What is it son?" Gerry scratched his eyebrow. "Everyone alright?" He was concerned.
"Dad, not only are you going to be a husband, you're going to be a grandpa. Liv is pregnant. He reached into his shirt pocket and pulled out the sleeve of sonogram pictures.
"Ahh" Lucia covered her mouth. She walked over and cupped Liv's face in her hands. "Muy feliz por ti." She smiled.
Liv held one of Lucia's hands. "Gracias." She smiled and looked at Gerry.
"Well, that's something. Engaged and pregnant, boy you've been busy. Well, we'll have two things to celebrate when we get back, and plenty to talk about." Gerry looked back down at the pictures.
Fitz wouldn't bet on it, but he swore he saw a tear in his father's eye. Gerry reached out and grabbed Fitz, pulling him into a hug. He rubbed his back, feeling his scars and he hugged tighter. This was extremely rare for Gerry to do.
"You are going go be an amazing father Fitz. I am so proud of you. Words could never tell how sorry…."
Fitz pulled back. "Dad, that's the past. Let's leave it there, ok. Go get married will ya."
With the car all packed, they said their good byes and watched as the car drove towards the airport. "We'll be back late Monday night." Gerry called as the car was pulling away. "You kids don't behave ok, you have the whole place to yourselves."
They stood in the doorway just embraced in a hug. Liv looked up resting her chin on Fitz's chest. "He took that well. You got a hug."
"I did get a hug, that's maybe the third one he ever gave me in my life, and he finally felt my scars." Fitz took a deep breath.
So, at about the same time Edison's luck ran out in Rutland and he found himself being pulled away by Huck, Fitz turned to Liv.
"Let me go introduce you to the finished basement. The one with the king sized bed. Fitz's eyebrows went up and down and Liv squealed with laughter as he pulled her into her arms and scooped her off her feet.
Like Liv, Edison's feet left the ground, but it wasn't as happy for Edison as it was for Liv. Huck didn't want to leave any drag marks, so he knocked Edison out for a bit, and tossed his limp body over his shoulder and he made his way to his MMA place. He used the back trails having remembered them when he returned from rolling DJ's car into the ravine.
He patted Edison's thigh as he walked. "Don't worry you little shit, this will be long and painful." Huck smiled thinking of his sweet revenge.
Daylight was upon them now as they woke up in each other's arms in the most comfortable king sized bed Liv had ever slept in. Fitz turned to her, just looking at her, his face just above hers. They were still naked under the covers. "Good morning." He planted a kiss on her, rubbing her breast gently.
"Mmm." She moaned. "Fitz, you are insatiable." She fell into his kiss pulling him down harder. They had a long night, a very long night. Little did they know, though it wasn't as long as Edison Davis's night.
"Want to head to the beach?" Fitz rolled to his back. "We have a private one right outside our door."
Liv was holding her head up with her hand looking down at him. "I'd love that."
"Ok. Want to go naked, or."
She whacked him. "You are shameless! Get dressed!" She laughed.
If Olivia thought their little cabin in the Vermont woods was peaceful, then this had to be heaven. She looked out to the never-ending blue water of the Pacific Ocean, and it took her breath away. "My gosh, Fitz this was your backyard, this is breathtaking."
Fitz spread a huge blanket down on the sand. He sat down first, and he reached his hand up to Olivia who he pulled slowly down into his arms. She adjusted herself so her head was resting on his chest, but she was facing the ocean. Between his legs, sitting up against him, she closed her eyes and took it all in.
Fitz sat with his arms behind him, smelling the salt water and closing his eyes to the sounds of the waves. This was the sound that got him through some of his worst days in captivity. He would close his eyes and think of the waves hitting the shore. By force of habit, his head dipped, and he kissed Liv's head, eyes still closed, so grateful to be here in this moment.
During captivity, on top of a wave, Fitz would see himself on a surfboard. Gliding along the top and coming to a stop where the wave hit the shore. He never thought he would see a beach again, so he was taking in every moment right now.
"Having you here Livvie, it means everything to me." He finally spoke breaking a few minutes of ocean silence. He put his hands on her still flat stomach. 'Soon we can take our baby to the beach." He rubbed a little and she held his hands in place on top, rubbing them.
"We sure can Mister." She picked up one of his hands and kissed it as she moved.
Liv shifted so she was laying now on the blanket. She faced Fitz who was laying belly down on the blanket, but still facing the ocean. "I'm happy to be here with you, Fitz."
"Sunsets are your happy place; the ocean waves are mine. I used to surf in that water for hours. Sometimes Lucia would come out and check on me worried I may have drowned because I was out so long." He laughed.
"In her thick accent she would tell me how my skin was going to wrinkle, I could never get her two kids to surf, though, I think they were afraid." Fitz shrugged.
"And now she's going to be your stepmother, how does that make you feel?"
"It's about damn time." He turned his head to face Olivia. "My father loved her the day he hired her, but he was too busy entertaining women he had no right to entertain. That woman was the closest person I had to as a mother."
"You didn't seem too surprised with the news." Liv's eyes squinted in the sun, and she reached into her beach bag for her sun hat.
"I'm just happy for him, finally admitting his true feelings for Lucia. I just didn't think he would marry her, but I am happy for them."
Fitz blinked now in the sun. He stood up and Liv looked at him. "Are you ok?" She wasn't sure what he was doing. Fitz took a deep breath.
"I haven't taken my shirt off on a beach since I've been back in the states." He pulled off his NAVY t shirt and Liv stood up with the sunscreen bottle. She squinted when she looked at him. She didn't mean to laugh, but she had too. She also knew how sensitive a subject this was, and she tried to cover it, but she couldn't. She was a bit relieved when he smirked in curiosity.
"What are you laughing at, huh?" He tossed his shirt onto the blanket.
"I've never seen you, obviously, standing in the sun shirtless. Boy, you are WHITE!" She covered her mouth now. Then, her hands covered her face, and she laughed a bit harder now, it was good to get this laughter out.
"Ha, ha, ha.!" Fitz said sarcastically. "Go ahead, get your laughter but wait until I tan up. You're going to beg to rub my chest, and I am just going to laugh right back at you."
Liv pulled her hands away from her face now. She looked at him lovingly, still smiling and wrapped her arms around him. Pulling his head down to her shoulder, she put her face into the crook of his neck. "You're my whiteboy and I love you with all my heart. Don't tease me about you tanning up, you know the things I can do to that tanned up fine looking chest of yours?"
She heard him give a soft moan. He turned and kissed her neck. "We are alone all weekend in a gigantic five bedroom ranch house." He whispered to Liv's chills he could feel coming up her neck. "I will take you every bedroom."
She pulled away looking in his eyes. She didn't doubt him for a minute. She planted a kiss on his lips. "There is nothing I would want more." She smiled. "Now let me get this sunscreen on you. Why did you get up from the blanket anyway?"
"I just want to take a quick dip in the ocean. You want to join me?" He closed his eyes as Liv was rubbing his scars with sunscreen, so gentle, as always. It's as if she knew the pain he sustained when he got them, and she never wanted him to feel pain again.
As Liv worked her way around to his chest and began rubbing, she looked up at him. "I'll just stay on the blanket here and watch my man do his thing in the ocean." She reached up and rubbed the remaining sunscreen that was on her hands onto Fitz's nose and cheeks.
"You do have your bikini top under there right." Fitz looked at her. "Don't be embarrassed with me Liv, we're way past that." He picked her chin up so their eyes met.
She stopped, grasping his cheeks. "I love you Mister." She looked over at the ocean that Fitz would be in soon. "You need to bring the girls out here; they would love this private beach. Wonder how everyone is in Rutland."
"And don't change the subject." He kissed her. "I want to see that bikini top."
Fitz rubbed his hands together, shaking off some sand. He looked at the ocean with Liv. "I'm sure they're fine, I mean what could possibly happen in a town like Rutland when its two biggest troublemakers aren't there?" He ran towards the ocean and Liv watched him dive into a wave.
As he popped his head up, hair soaked, body soaked, he turned to Liv and waved, then went back to catch another wave. Liv couldn't move. He looked so damn fine in that water. She fanned herself. "Whew." She sat on the blanket now thinking of Rutland with an uneasy feeling and contemplating if she should take her top off to the bikini top Fitz knew she had on under it.
Removing her sun hat, she placed it on the blanket next to Fitz's shirt. She pulled out two very large beach towels. Eventually she would join in him the water. Right now she was getting the courage to expose her body in a bikini top.
Seems weird with everything she has given to Fitz, but the thought of ever wearing a bathing suit, never mind a bikini top still gave her nerves a jolt. "Rip the shirt off, Baby Girl." She could hear Maya's voice. "Don't you make that fine man use his imagination."
Liv smiled watching him again now. It was a picture perfect day. Not too hot, not too chilly. There was no wind, just a slight breeze, and Liv saw Fitz diving into the waves. It seemed like he was in his natural habitat.
The daylight was not so kind to Edison Davis. When Huck first bought the building and he spent hours there with his toolbox, the town thought he was making a state of the art MMA studio. Of course that's what Huck was doing, but he hired a professional to do that.
Huck spent many hours building a back soundproof room for reasons like today. He had known the story by then about DJ and Mellie and they tormented his little friend Chloe. He was told about Edison by Olivia and Fitz and how he threatened that town.
When Huck was building this room, he was now sitting in, he did put in a window. Knowing what Fitz went through without any daylight, he wouldn't want anyone to go without sunlight, especially since it may be the last thing they see. He was being nice about it.
It was disappointing that DJ never got to see this nice room Huck set up. That was DJ's own fault. DJ chose his own fate by taking Liv and Chloe to the warehouse, still it worked out great for DJ. If anyone, in the future even dares to hurt one of the ABC girls, Huck will make use of the room.
The room was being put to great use now. Huck was sitting on his chair, watching Edison on the air bed Huck had him on. He was finally waking up from his little induced slumber. Huck's phone buzzed, as it had been all night.
Bryce, then Lara, Lara, then Bryce. They were both trying to get a hold of him, both worried something went wrong. They didn't know Huck like Liv and Fitz knew Huck. They had nothing to worry about. He also wasn't going to leave an Edison mess for Rutland to worry about. The town had been through enough with Logan. Huck had his plans for Edison down to a tee.
Huck couldn't answer the phone if he wanted to anyway. He was in his dark place last night. He couldn't talk to anyone; he could only think. It was the thinking that kept his sanity. Bryce's name was on the display, now and Huck wanted to answer this time before Edison was fully awake.
"Bryce." Huck heard a huge sigh of relief. "I'm fine."
"Where the hell are you, any sign of Edison he seems to have disappeared. We found his trailer and the stolen car, but nothing of concern there."
"I gave up looking for him." Huck lied. "Figured if I couldn't pin him down neither could you. I'm heading back to New York. I'll be back when Liv and Fitz get back." Huck looked at the screen in the room. He noticed the motion outside the MMA building.
His guys he had working for him were on a paid vacation. Huck would need them back for the summer. Looking at the screen he saw Bryce, phone to his ear, peering into the building.
"Ok, Huck. I'm actually outside your place now. I've been checking it randomly to make sure Edison didn't find the empty place and hide out. Looks secure, but that's not a surprise."
"Go home to your girls Bryce, get some rest. Spend some time with Lara. Edison will make a mistake." He clicked off the phone as Edison's head popped up. He watched with fear as Huck reached down for him, but all Huck was doing was pulling off his duct tape from Edison's mouth. Geez, you would think the guy would be grateful for that.
"Welcome back Mr. Davis. Boy it's your lucky day. I talked to Liv. Her and Fitz are on a beach in California living their best life. She's pregnant you know. Fitz and Liv are going to be parents. I mean, you know about the engagement, right?" He held up one of the clippings he had taken from Edison's trailer.
Edison looked at the clipping and put his head back down with tears coming down. He knew he was a dead man. If Huck had that clipping, he had the pictures.
While Fitz was swimming, Liv gave Huck a quick call. He sounded cheerful, weird for Huck standards, but Liv figured it was the godfather comment.
"Hey Godfather, you going to make me an offer I can't refuse." Liv spoke in her best Marlon Brando voice.
"Liv, you and Fitz ok? You get there alright?"
"Yeah, it's beautiful here. This beach is to die for, it's gorgeous, we have to get you out here one day."
"One day." Huck said watching Edison passed out on the air mattress.
"Fitz's father is getting married. His marrying his longtime love, Lucia. They went off to Punta Cana, so Fitz and I have this all to ourselves."
Huck nodded and smiled. Liv could almost hear the smile. "You enjoy every minute with Fitz, ok. He deserves this especially the beach and the sunlight. He always talked about surfing on the beach. I have some tech issues with Quinn's computer, I need to go."
"Huck, you're alright?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. Tell Fitz I said hey." Huck disconnected.
Liv tossed the phone back in the bag. Before she could think any further about the phone call, she felt Fitz's wet hands pull the sides of her shirt, and pull it over her head. She turned to him, and he looked down at her standing with the bikini top on.
Knowing better than to cover up, like she usually does with her hands, she looked up at him, soaking, dripping water on the blanket. Liv did dare and put the bikini top on, after thinking much too long against it while getting ready. She figured put it on while she still had the body for it, even if she didn't expose it on the beach. Now, she was standing there wondering what Fitz would think.
Judging by the look on Fitz's face it didn't disappoint. It was a black top with a criss crossing strap that crossed at the collar bone and tied on the back of the neck. The cups were cut out leaving all cleavage and some breast out on either side in the middle.
She pulled her shorts down to expose the bottom. It was high rise, with straps on the left side. She wouldn't admit it to Fitz, but he knew. The high rise covered her stomach scars just right. He scooped her up, cradling her in his arms and walked towards the beach, not having to say a word.
Her hand was rummaging through his thick wet curls, kissing him with a desire that suddenly consumed her body. This man was a fucking God wet like this, carrying her to the waves. He looked towards the ocean breaking the kiss that Liv seemed to still be stuck in as she rested her head in the crook of his neck.
"Ready, Liv, here comes a wave, I have you."
Liv looked at the wave and squealed a bit as it hit them. Fitz was able to keep his balance, and Liv in his arms. "My hair!" Liv yelled.
He laughed and put her down. "it's fine. Look at these beautiful curls." Liv was pushing it back with the wetness, walking towards the edge before another wave came. Fitz looked at her ass in the bottoms, and he chased after her.
He dipped her down, sinking her to edge of the wet sand, just where the smallest amount of water would circle back into the ocean. Liv cupped his face above her, both of them dripping wet and now a sandy mess, and just pulled him down to her, kissing him with the wet sand below her body.
Tasting the salt water on his lips gave Liv that desire back and she reached down to grab his erection through his swim trunks. Fitz didn't break from the kiss, just rubbing her stomach up to her breasts up and down and as the small amount of water circled under Liv's body, she squeezed his engorged member in her hand.
His head went back. "God Livvie." He picked her back up, and went back to the blanket, placing her down and taking in her full length body in the bikini. He folded the high rise area down to release all her scars. "There, that's my Livvie. You look fucking delicious." He said, licking his lips and kissing all her scars up to her mouth, and she wanted him inside her at that very moment.
"I want you Fitz." She whispered in his ear. "Right here, right now, on this beach, I want you so fucking much." She felt tears in her eyes, as her tongue swirled all over his lips and deep into his mouth. He pulled her bottoms down further until they were completely off.
Her one leg bent up, her other straight as Fitz gave his hardened dick some air for a moment. "I want you more, baby." He moaned in her ear. Leaving her top on and sucking one of the breasts at the open part, he slipped right into her as he watched her head go back and come down.
The moan that came from the back of her throat even caught her off guard. This felt so fucking good, wet from the salt water, on this beautiful beach, the love of her life inside her. He was gliding with such ease in and out, holding her leg up.
Fitz dropped her leg, wrapped his arm under her back and pulled her up to him still gliding in and out. She grasped the back of his neck as he held her up and his lips went on to her chest and back to the other breast to suck. He looked down at her body.
"You are so sexy." He stopped to grunt. "So fucking." another grunt. He pulled her tighter and pumping a bit harder now. "Sexy." With a pounding thrust.
Liv held on, pulling at his wet curls as his words and his motion brought her to the edge she needed. Her head fell weakly to his shoulder as she let the orgasm overtake her body, breathing heavily trying to come down, but he kept going.
She was rubbing his back, looking at the ocean now, it looked a blur as her body was still in orgasm mode, and she felt his final grunt on her neck as he gently put her back down on the blanket as he climaxed into her.
After a few moments, he rolled over, and she placed her head in her rightful spot on his chest. Now they were both still wet from the ocean and from sweat, but in this moment, as the sunlight beat down, Fitz covered Liv with a towel she had taken out knowing she didn't have on sunscreen, as she fell asleep to sound of the ocean waves and the feel of the sun, in Fitz's arms.
Fitz was determined to make this an unforgettable weekend and trip to his home state. So far, it was off to a great start, while Edison's life was coming to an end, Liv and Fitz lay peacefully on the beach, Liv sleeping and Fitz taking in the sunlight he missed and thought about for two years in that dark cell as he listened to ocean sounds he longed for.
Huck could hear only the sound of the long breaths, and scared moans Edison was echoing into the air. He closed his eyes to listen to the fear better. He put his face directly above Edison's. "Do you remember the night Liv finally left you to come to Vermont? You remember grabbing her? You know the bruise you left on her arm?"
Now Edison grinded his teeth. He had so much saliva in his mouth, some was coming right through the teeth. "Please" He begged. "My chest." He was expanding it with the heavy breathing. "It's hurting."
"Good, that's good. It won't hurt much longer, don't worry. You did a thing Edison you hurt Liv, you threatened people she loves. Time to put that to an end."
Edison closed his eyes. He really was finding it hard to find air. He was gasping, and his heart felt like a nail being hit with a hammer. He could feel it coming through his shirt. "Please. I can't….I can't…." He felt a sharp pain and his tied hands tried to reach his chest, but they couldn't.
Suddenly Huck heard silence. He was reaching for that one special tool he had put aside just for Edison but with the silence now, Huck sadly knew he wouldn't need the tool any more. "Sorry little guy." He said to the tool. "Not today."
Edison scared himself into a cardiac arrest, dying right there on the air mattress. That was a disappointment to Huck, but nonetheless, Edison was gone, a bit too easy though if you asked Huck.
Huck had seen this before. Ready to kill for the CIA, he came across a few men who couldn't handle the stress of dying, so the heart did if for them. Huck shrugged, and began the process of what he needed to do to get Edison to enjoy his place in hell.
Freshly showered and nicely dressed, Fitz was bringing Liv to one of his favorite seafood restaurants in Santa Barbara. Their little date night from a perfect day on the beach was just beginning.
After a wonderful hot shower and frustrated grunts from Daisy because they were leaving her again, the couple headed into the car Fitz ordered. They were now sitting in a gorgeous, dimly lit, overpriced seafood restaurant. While waiting at the bar for their table to become available, Liv elbowed Fitz in the ribs.
"What the…" He saw Liv staring up at the TV pointing to it. On the all news station, around the country news, they saw a smiling picture of Edison. Below, on the screen the words read. "Real Estate businessman, Edison Davis, found dead in his Harlem apartment from an apparent heart attack."
The story quickly switched to the Yankees beating the Rangers in 10 innings and Liv spun around to Fitz. "Wow, Edison is dead." She rubbed her arm remembering that night.
"Liv, you alright?" Fitz looked up at the gentleman who walked over. "Sir, your table is ready."
"Fine." Liv shook off the thought of Edison. "I hope he suffered a bit before he went."
Huck didn't have a television on, he didn't need one. He sat in his tech office at Financially Yours fixing the reported tech problems and keeping the computers safe from online hackers. Right now the two people he loved most in this world were together and nothing would come between them any longer.
