"I broke it!" Written in bold text followed by a yellow face with the eyes crossed out.

"Girl, have you no chill?" is what Melissa sent back to Olivia. She was too busy laughing until she was lightheaded to call. Her bestfriend needed to hear the devious joy she got from the news.

Olivia looked at the burned up "toy" she was gifted. The motor within was fried beyond repair. What plastic parts melted and silicone warped. Thankfully she was still apprehensive to use it as fully intended. Her phone rang on the bathroom counter and she answered on speaker. Regret. Melissa's laughter erupted and echoed off the bathroom tiles!

"Not helping!" Olivia snapped with her hair sparking.

"Oh man, I gotta see it. Show me!" Olivia grumbled but took up the phone to swap over to a video call and show the remains. More laughing. Melissa's face slipped away as she rolled on her bed. "Oh god my stomach hurts!" she wheezed and even coughed a few times. "Good fucking lord, did it even stand a chance?!"

"You're not helping!" Olivia repeated.

Melissa wiped a tear from her eye. "I didn't call to help, you know that." Olivia sat on the edge of her tub with her phone up to her face. "Oh calm down, marshmallow or your phone will be next." Melissa ignored the puffed up cheeks. "That only works on your dad." It works only on Tim and he's been developing an immunity. "I thought you had control over your output."

"I do... Just not when I'm... you know," Olivia confessed.

"So how haven't you killed Victor yet? Or hell anyone else you've fooled around with."

"I usually throw out my extra energy somewhere. Into something I know is grounded if I'm not already on the ground. But I don't have anything like that in my room that wouldn't start a fire! I panicked!"

"That man is going to die!" A whine came from Olivia. "How did you normally get off without burning down half the mansion?"

"I'm usually in the tub but the damn thing wasn't waterproof. Ugh, I have to throw it out too!"

"Stick it in a box or something and throw it in the trash compactor. Give it a proper burial for dying in the line of duty!" she snorts "And lesson learned! No motors for you unless they're industrial ones."

"I'm hanging up now!"

"BYE BYE! Don't trip the circuit thingy."

In the morning Olivia carried the trick box that held the toy inside. No one else could open it without giving it a solid jolt so it was the best way to transport the ruined aid through the mansion. She assumed. The moment her feet touched the first floor landing she spotted Damian. Her only choice was to carry on like normal and not avoid him. The moment she started changing her paths around the corridors he'd pick up on it and follow out of curiosity. Watching his sister pass he paused and followed close behind her to quickly snatch the box from her hands and held it up over his head out of her reach.

"No no no!" she whined then crossed her arms over her chest. "Give it back."

"Isn't this the present Kate gave you?" Damian asked and turned the box this way and that to shake it. When they received the package it did not make noise when agitated and now it did. Either she put something new in the box or. "You broke the present you got, didn't you?"

"No! I just...am using the box to..." Damian slowly raised a brow as he watched her struggle to find a lie that worked for her. She gave up. "It doesn't matter! Just give it back already!" she fumed and wouldn't bother trying to reach for the box.

"But you are throwing this out. So why not let me do it for you?" he asked and backed up. She stepped forward.

"I still want to keep the box!" It was a neat little device.

"Yeah but why take the box with you to toss the other thing?" he inquired and took another step away. "What kind of terrible thing are you hiding away in here that you don't want anyone to see? Based on the rattling it's probably a few things." She was reaching for the box now. "Or you dropped a bunch of stuff around the main thing to throw off the true item destined for the trash. Like a." He mouthed the last words and her eyes lit up!

"Damian!" she hissed and he touched the box to her arm. Click. It opened from the current running along her skin.

"Oh no! It opened!" Olivia's face was growing hot but before she could try to reach for the box again he took off down the hall! Olivia wasted no time charging after him, sliding around corners and being left in the dust. But he can't hide from her. No one can! When she finally caught up with her brother they were in the normal basement of the mansion and Damian was closing the door to the incinerator. He held the box at an angle showing that it was empty. "If you want to get rid of evidence you need to be thorough," he explained then looked back as she came to retrieve the box. "I didn't look. We all assumed it was some kind of toy and didn't say anything to save you the embarrassment." Olivia huffed and held the odd box to her chest. "I think Kate wanted you to have the box more than anything else. A place to keep your secrets, even from us."

He had a point. It alone was more finely made than that hunk of plastic and silicone. "You're probably right."

"Do me a favor. Suck up that Wayne pride and ask for help." Olivia swallowed and looked down at her feet. "I saw you more than anyone and I wanted to give you your space but I should have said something sooner. I'm sorry."

"I'm sorry too," she said in a raspy voice. "I didn't want you all to be disappointed in me."

"You're dating Zsasz. I'll always be disappointed in you." Olivia laughed through light tears. "I just don't want to be second on the scene when I should have been the first." She nods and they head back to the ground floor of the mansion.

"You know, everyone keeps saying you have a sister complex," she states along their way.

"I don't give a fuck if they do. I love you and nothing will ever change that." Olivia smiled as they drifted towards the kitchen for breakfast.

"Are you why all those girls at school stopped being so mean to me?"

"I told them I can't find any woman that doesn't like my sister attractive."

Olivia grimaced. "You really just should tell people you have a girlfriend."

"Now that you're around, I don't have to." The most socially awkward of the family found a way to avoid speaking to people he already thought not worth his time. "I used to tell guys from the league that you had a boyfriend even when you didn't to get them to stop asking me about you and now they ask if you're single yet. The goal for them becomes 'stealing' us away from who we're involved with. Give it time and there will be a spike in buzz cuts when they get over being afraid of you." The thought amused her. Having her own little fanclub following her around and them trying to emulate Victor. They'd look like a cult.

Victor lay face up on his couch, one arm over his eyes. True to Red Hood's word they finished their mission and he was home late Monday night. The first half was spent tracking down leads on where the captive Shaun Holtz started his misadventures, Atlantic City, and where they ended, on the border of the US and Canada in upstate New York. He'd changed hands from the gangsters he owed money to an organ harvesting ring when they discovered that he was a meta-human after his cut off finger grew back. They struck a deal to get his debt worth of transplant organs out of him and they would let him go. An obvious lie but that man seemed willing to believe anything if it kept him alive and having to pay up. They found him with his eyes recently removed in a basement unknowingly waiting to be taken out of the country. He was a one man organ farm, they were never going to let him go.

The wildest part of the whole ordeal was learning that he didn't know he was a meta-human. For nearly twenty four years he had no idea. His parents discovered when he was young just how strong a regenerative power he had and made the understandable decision to not tell him. Let a little boy know his leg will just grow back and he will take more risks. Victor knows he would have done way more crazy things if he knew his hand would grow back in three days. He likely would have ended up like Holtz, getting exploited.

The mission was a success but it was boring as hell! The beginning was interesting but it was just leads and mild interrogation after they caught the trail and Holtz was so stupidly compliant to his captors they didn't need to keep him locked up. Just blind. The whole mission felt more like a test than anything. A little bit of extortion to keep quiet about their son's...condition upped their pay considerably and at least he got to keep the new mask. That was going to be useful for any solo missions he went on. A computer he could just wear on his face and was far faster than anything he's ever had his hands on. For now it will stay stashed away.

The dullness of work was pushed to the back of his mind and he took up his phone. He had to finish organizing that date and see what Olivia was up to since it was late again. A call to her rang twice before he heard her sweet voice on the other end. "Please tell me I'm interrupting something again," he said with a rumbling chuckle.

"And here I thought you were calling cause you wanted to tell me you were home," Olivia yawned.

"I wake you?"

"No, just a little tired. A normal kind of tired before you start worrying. How was work?"

"Uneventful. Sometimes a job goes off without a hitch even if you want there to be more happening. Barely broke a sweat. How'd my competition treat you?"

"I..." She could be heard rolling on her bed and letting out a muffled groan. "So I...broke it." Victor snorts before putting a hand over his eyes to laugh. "Yeah yeah. Mel thought it was hilarious too."

"I bet she did. Let me guess, burned out the motor?" There was a long pause on her end before she confirmed his suspicions. "I figured that would happen. Just thought maybe it'd have a better fighting chance." He heard giggling but then nothing for a while, just her soft breathing. He thinks back on when he held her while she recovered. "Falling asleep on me, Sunshine?" It was late. He shouldn't be keeping her like this.

"I'm weighing how pissed my dad would be if I snuck out to come see you," she admits. "He might have a heart attack. I've stressed him out enough." Victor looked at the wall separating his bedroom from the living room. "Victor?"

"I could sneak in to see you. I've got a nice bit of gear I could use."

"He'll kill you," she giggles.

"If I get to you before he can it'll be worth it." He heard a high pitched yawn and then a sigh from her end. "I should let you go. We can catch up properly when I see you next."

"When is that going to be?"

"Thursday? Things should be less heated out there. I can take you out dancing."

"...If we stay in, can it be tomorrow?"

He smiled. "Tomorrow works."

"Yes! I'll get a ride to you. I have to get out of the house for a bit and I want to see your face. What time can I come by? I know you're busy."

"I can clear my whole day for you."

"Do not say that! I will show up at your place at fucking dawn!"

"Do it."

There was silence. He could practically hear her thinking over the line. "I...I will try to be there by 11. We can order lunch."

"Tell me what you want and I can have it ready when you get here."

"You can pick. I don't have allergies and I'll try anything at least once. See you tomorrow! Goodnight, Victor."

"Goodnight, Sunshine."

Olivia smiled at her phone then rolled out of bed. She would spend almost an hour sorting out one outfit...and then a second since it was expected to rain. As she lay preparing to sleep she searched the house. Damian was home. Tim went back to the university campus. Alfred was sleeping and her dad was in the cave. She could feel Jason was in as well. He stopped by so often now. It used to be that they'd see him maybe once a month. Bruce spent more time away from the city so perhaps he was helping him stay in the loop. Who knows.

Gotham City sleeps soundly. The meta-human community eased back into their normal routine and all of Gotham Academy enjoyed their second day off from school. The Wayne children were at the top of the gossip list as well as speculating just how many students were affected by this dubious practice. How many teachers would get the ax? The east end's tensions reached stability. There would be plenty of work to get done. Clubs to run, product to ship, stables to manage and less uncomfortable meetings had. Gotham's social calendar was about to explode with parties, galas, and benefit dinners for people they cared nothing about. So many invitations for the Waynes to dodge. Calm does not last long for this city. The next scandal or incident waits just around the corner.

What is setting him off about her? The sound of her voice, the feel of her hand squeezing at his. The way she smells, the way she smiles and moves. The way she looks at him and lights up. Intoxicating. She moved against him to a rhythm he no longer bothered to hear. It didn't matter. They were in a swarm of energized bodies but if he was asked to make out even the faces near them he could not.

He followed the way she moved, letting his hands find their place on her hips, brushing the backs of his calloused knuckles along her bare arms or pulling her in closer by her waist. And she would respond in kind. He avoids her lips. A playful tease but he knows if he gives in he'll be making a scene on his dance floor. The scandal.

Her smaller hand wove into his and she turned to lead him away. He followed with no resistance as she split the crowd to get off the dance floor. She had a destination in mind, no doubt one with fewer people but he knew where the blindspots were for the cameras. Victor pulled her in that direction, through a heavy door and into an isolated hall. He removed his jacket and handed it to Olivia to put on.

"Are we going outside?" she asked but the moment her arms were through the sleeves she was lifted up and spun into one of those blindspots. Her back was pressed to the cold stone she would not feel thanks to his jacket and her legs were wrapped around his waist.

"Didn't want to ruin your pretty dress," he said in a low voice. He watched her eyes light up before kissing her. Something soft that grew with a burning intensity. He needed her like he needed air. Her voice echoed in the hall and he wanted to hear more. He'd kiss, bite, lick and grind to get what he wanted out of her. She let out a soft, breathy moan and he quickly brought her lower, looming over her smaller frame.

The door to the hall swung open and Victor let out a displeased growl. "Zsasz!" one member of security said but would not dare getting closer. Olivia was an absolute minx with how she pulled at his shirt and kissed his neck. "We've got a situation."

Olivia gave a pout as she was set on her feet and Victor cooled down enough to get into work mode. He took her hand and led her back out front. "Head to the bar and don't wander off," he said, then kissed her right temple. "I'm finishing what I started." She was absolutely giddy and went where he told her.

Victor arrives on the scene of the "situation". A belligerent man reeked of alcohol and the bouncers were trying to keep him from joining the crowd. A fist came flying towards Victor's face. It was caught quickly bent back the way it came, making the man drop to his knees wailing in pain. He clearly was not so drunk he couldn't feel that. Victor could feel his boss's eyes burning a hole into his back. The thrown fist was released only for Victor to slam his knee into the man's face. In a flash his knuckles were covered in blood and he examined his handiwork. A mess of a man unconscious on the floor. A gasp behind him made him turn. Behind him was Olivia horrified, one hand over her mouth and backing away. "Liv, I."

She shook her head and ran, leaving his coat on the floor. He attempts to follow her but is stopped. "Let her go. I told you she's not made for this world," said Oswald.

"This is getting old..." Victor grumbled while staring at his ceiling. More dreams like this and maybe he'll have to start unpacking all of that baggage. Time to hit his regimen then prepare for Olivia's arrival.

Olivia was practically vibrating with excitement in the backseat of one of the family's luxury cars. Not an uncommon occurrence in the fashion district. As the car pulled to a stop before Victor's apartment she leapt out before Alfred could even put it in park. "Mistress Olivia!" he called out.

"Sorry Alfred! Thank you Alfred!" she called out then gently closed the door...and then ran back to get her backpack. "Thank you again." The man shook his head but would wait for Olivia to slip inside the building before pulling away. At Victor's main door she took a breath. The static along her body faded but the light remained in her eyes as she knocked. Behind the walls she could feel Victor moving from one end of the apartment towards the door and she bounced happily in place before composing herself as the door swung open. All that energy rushed back up through her hair. Victor answered the door still wet from a shower with a towel around his waist. "So it's that kind of date!" she giggled.

"Get your butt in here already!" he said with a smirk and ushered her into the kitchen before pushing the door shut. "I got a little distracted with my workout and forgot the time."

"And got hungry apparently!" Olivia said while looking over his kitchen counter covered in take-out boxes of food. All of which smelled amazing.

Victor winced a bit. "I wanted you to try something I've been homesick over and I wasn't sure what you liked so." He rubbed the back of his neck while she giggled but smiled at him. "I overdid it, huh?"

She nods. "Just a bit. Go get dressed AH!" She squealed as he hugged her, nearly soaking her clothes. "RUDE!" she shouted as he darted into his bedroom. Her bag was set on the floor before she started looking over the many dishes, most of which she could not identify except one. "Is this all Korean?" she called out to him.

"Yeah! Old neighbor was Korean and used to keep me fed," he replied while pulling on clothes. "Taught me Korean too. Used to yell at me for tracking dirt through her store."

Olivia smiled while looking over the other dishes. She wasn't sure where to start or when but looked up as he stepped out now dressed. So disappointing. "You can speak Korean?" she asked.

"Fluently. She'd withhold food when she was teaching me. Picked up a bit of Italian and Spanish too." He looks her over and smiles. "Oh no, you're wet. What happened?" Olivia stuck her tongue out at him then rummaged around for utensils. "Do you speak any other languages?" he asked then sorted out what to have her try first. The bowl of kimchi was pulled away and another dish moved in front of her, kimbap. It was familiar enough that she might just jump right into trying without dissecting the meal.

Olivia had to think for a moment. "French, my Mandarin is okay, not great."

"Just okay?" Victor laughs.

Olivia smiled, rolling her eyes and continued. "Uh, Italian oh and Arabic. My brother taught me that one."

"Damian?"

She nodded then took her first bite of kimbap smiling behind a hand as she chewed. "He calls it our lughat al'ukhua."

"And what does that mean?"

"Our sibling language. We use it at parties. He does it to be a little rude but it's just because he's terrible in social situations like that. We both are to a point." She pointed to the first dish. "What is this?"

"Kimbap. Good?" She nodded. Reflecting on his short stay in the Wayne mansion he smiles. "I think I heard him talking to you in Arabic while you were asleep. That's cute. You guys seem really close." A stir fried dish with vegetables and clear noodles was swapped out and he pulled the tray of kimbap to himself to have a few pieces.

"He was the second friend I ever made. Our dad didn't really push us getting along but it turned out that way. I don't think I've ever really been mad at him. Wait yeah, but he was mad first." The noodles she took a bite of were chewier than she was expecting and they were a little sweet but it was so good!

"What did you do to gain the ire of a man with a sister complex?" He wondered if that may have been crossing a line but the kid did not hide it at all around him or apparently anyone.

"I made out with his best friend." Victor snorts then coughs into his arm. "It was one time! We were at some holiday party when we were twelve. He didn't want his best friend dating his sister. I thought it would be fine. Clearly I was wrong!" She shrugged then clicked her chopsticks as the dish was pulled away. "At Least tell me what it is first!"

"Japchae. But it makes sense. It's the one overlap he didn't want. How's he going to vent to his best friend about you when you're dating him?" Olivia puffed up her cheeks. "He'd do anything for you but he needs things for himself too." Victor made a good point.

"But he was such a good kisser..." she sighed. She took initiative and pointed to one dish that looked like it was thick stalks of tofu in a soup.

"Tteokbokki. Those bits are rice cakes. Very chewy. Pretty nice junk food," he explained while reaching over to grab a piece for himself.

Olivia reflected on a few things and considered how to word the question on her mind. "Are...would. I remember you said you had siblings. What were they like?" Victor grew silent. "I'm sorry, you don't have to talk about it. I was just curious."

"I had a little brother. Four years younger than me. Douglas. He was a sweet kid, could not say my name to save his life," he laughs. "When our parents died and we got thrown into the foster system we were all we had." Olivia listened to him closely, feeling she should not have asked. This seemed to pain Victor quite a bit. "I got into so many fights with other kids keeping him safe."

"...What happened to him?" she asked in a small voice.

Victor began to speak then stopped. He raised a hand, dropped it and leaned forward over the counter a bit. "So, the fun thing about the foster system is that it's harder to get siblings adopted together. Not a lot of people looking to bring two strays in. Watching kids that got in after us leave before us was...frustrating. So I left. He was four, cute and didn't have the immune disorder I do. I wanted to give him a chance at something better. And maybe the sob story of being abandoned by his only family would give that extra boost to get him into a new family."

Olivia came over and dipped beneath one of his arms to hug him. "I'm sorry. That must have been hard."

"Ancient history, Sunshine," he said while giving her a squeeze.

"Do you know what happened to him?" He shook his head. "...you're lying, Victor."

He let out a wistful chuckle while shaking his head. "He goes to Gotham City High. I may have broken in a few times to see how he was doing. Make sure he's not getting into trouble. He plays baseball. He's got a bit of an arm on him. I don't regret leaving him behind. Can't pretend I don't miss him but everytime I check on him I never let him see me. He probably doesn't even remember me."

"It must hurt a lot," Olivia said barely above a whisper. "Probably don't want to hear me talking about my siblings all the time."

Victor takes a breath to clear his mind and hugs her close to his chest. "It's fine. I do get a little jealous but I'm happy you have the family you do. Even if Damian seems like his first words were 'stab' and 'kill'." Olivia softly laughed. Examining his counter he grimaces. "I bought too much food..."

"I'll try to help," she giggles.

After putting a sizable dent in the selection of food the rest had to be put into the fridge. Victor could eat alot but he wasn't that much of a bottomless pit. All the tteokbokki are gone though. Delicious comfort food rarely lasts long. The pair reclined on the couch to attempt to watch a movie but got distracted by Olivia insisting on being in his face. He wasn't going to reject the flood of affection. She seemed exceptionally worked up and who was he to tell his girlfriend to calm down? As the sky grew darker with clouds she would drift over to the giant windows. She mumbled to herself a few times and even checked her phone but her eyes would rise back up. With her latest trip to inspect the sky he comes up behind her to hug around her waist and rest his chin on her shoulder.

"What's going on, Sunshine?" he asked.

"I'm wondering if your roof is insulated enough."

That was not the answer he was expecting to hear. "I assume so? Didn't really get the construction run down when it was given to me. Storm bothering you?"

Her head tilts away while she smiles. "No. I love storms," she says with a bright smile.

"Really? I got the feeling you didn't do well with them when we met."

"I...I get a little weird."

"Weirder than you normally are?" He felt an elbow jab into his stomach. "You're just mad I'm right."

"When the air is really full of energy I feel the most...myself? My mom would take me out to an open field so we could reach up to the clouds. All that energy would get drawn to us and it just feels amazing. But it's not the safest thing to do on a crowded street. When a storm is on the way I get charged up faster than I'm used to so I become a bit...restless."

Victor furrowed his naked brow and put the pieces together. "Wait, you willingly get struck by lightning?!" She gave a sheepish smile and nod. "That is insane."

She gives a weak laugh as she looks back up at the shifting clouds and follows their path. "It brings me closer to my mom. It makes me feel as strong as she must have been. I'm thinking of going up on the roof but that might not be a good idea. It's still close to everything and I don't want to destroy your home."

This had to be what Melissa told him about. "Would a park work?" he asks. At the posed question she turns to smile up at him. "Is that good enough? If you need more space I can take you to like a beach or something."

"You really want to see this don't you?"

"Only if you want me to...but yes! It sounds wild! If we have time I can get you to Amusement Mile. Empty beach and also close to home, just in case something does happen." Olivia giggles with her hair crackling with static. "Does that work then?"

"If we leave now, yeah. It feels like it will be a heavy storm."

"Then let's go!" In a flurry they prepared to be in the rain. An umbrella for Olivia, an overcoat for Victor and the bag she brought with her. Once the muscle car pulled out of the garage the building went into lockdown. Olivia had to actively contain herself as they headed through the city on the fastest route avoiding deadlock traffic. Victor considered using his shortcuts but perhaps being safer behind the wheel was best given Olivia's history.

"You know, I came prepared hoping the storm would be ideal...and you'd be down to watch," she confessed while staring out the window with her eyes on the ever darkening sky.

"Really now?" he asked as they neared their destination.

"I've got spare clothes in my backpack."

"So you planned to be playing out in the rain with me?"

A knowing smile touched her lips as she shook her head. "Not exactly."

Amusement Mile was a rundown section of northern Gotham stretching across the only sandy beach the city had. Just a bridge and another long drive away from Wayne Manor that overlooked the dilapidated piers and the many rides rusting away after decades of neglect. What was built to stand against the harsh ocean spray could not hold up to time itself wearing them away without humans to maintain them. Given the state of the long since abandoned neighborhood it would be easy enough to drive along the concrete paths leading to the beach and find a secluded enough spot for her to show off. The windows of the muscle car collected droplets of light rain but she did not urge him to move faster so he took all the time they would need to get there safely.

Again Olivia was practically vibrating when they finally found a suitable spot. Not a soul close enough to witness. Just Victor who was now watching as she pulled off her shoes and shirt. "Girl what are you doing?!" he laughed.

"I don't want to ruin my clothes," she explained matter of factly. The last things to be removed were her necklace and bracelet which she handed directly to Victor. "Keep these safe for me, they might get warped." Okay this was starting to concern Victor a little but he kept her and Melissa's words in mind. Even so! "So long as you stay up on the concrete you'll be at a safe distance." She was stripped down to just a pair of boyshort underwear and a black camisole. She slipped her shoes back on incase of glass on her way to the beach and stepped out of the car. Victor followed suit. The air out here felt electrified and the clouds seemed to be shifting to be near them. Olivia squeezed his hand. "Remember, I will be fine," she reassured once again then hopped up to kiss his cheek and made her way down worn stone steps to the beach.

Victor gripped the handle of the umbrella at his side. She was all smiles and bouncing with small sparks arcing from her limbs but especially along her spine. Beneath her dark shirt growing soaked from the increasing rain he saw a light travel up her spine then spread out across her body. "Holy shit..."

On the beach Olivia found the best spot and kicked off her shoes to throw them as far from her as she could. The sand was going to become safer to step on soon enough. As she looked to the sky she remembered what her mother told her to feel for. She loved this almost as much as what was to follow. Her energy danced across the sand beneath her feet but she would not let it reach too far out. She took a deep breath. As she exhaled her skin glowed brighter than before with her hair lit up with a small storm turning her brown locks white. She feels light and her heart reaches a calm as she raises one hand to the sky to send a small bolt out and the sky reaches down in a violent flash to strike her.

Victor flinched upon nearly being blinded by the flash of light but kept his eyes peeled while his heart surged. She was fine, he reassured himself. She was fine! Just above the beach was a figure of white lightning floating with flowing hair and Olivia's overall build. Bolts arced to strike the sand and any source of metal in the grains. He dropped the umbrella as he got closer to the railing and looked on in awe. Olivia turned with a few bolts leaping from her feet then gave an enthusiastic wave. She felt amazing. This was how she felt she was meant to be but she couldn't hold this for long. The rain began to come down hard but she could hear Victor cheering over it. He was going to catch a cold!

Time to leave. Olivia slowly descended to the glassed beach with her footsteps creating more. She pulled all of this extra energy from her toes up, moved to a new safe spot as her body began to return to normal and threw a massive bolt back into the clouds, just as strong as the one that reached out to her. Her clothes were steaming! They became soaked just long enough by the rain to keep from fully igniting, but in spite of that they were very much ruined. The back of her shirt was split and she had to hold the top up to keep it from falling off her. She was fumbling with her shoes when she felt Victor approaching. Olivia rose in time to smile at him and discharge more of her energy to be on the safe side. He raced down leaving the umbrella by the car. He reached down to hook his arms beneath her rear and lifted her into a deep kiss.

She giggled and broke free. "We're getting soaked," she laughed over the downpour.

"THAT'S WAS AMAZING!" he yelled and set her back on her feet. His coat was draped over her shoulders before he picked her up in a bridal carry to bring her back to the car. Up on the concrete pier they could see the branching pattern the lighting strike left burned on the beach. Glass cooled by the rain and left to be worn away by the coming waves.

Olivia piled into the back seat to give herself more room to change which was quickly filled by Victor slipping in beside her with the umbrella tossed into the front seat. "Victor?" She squealed as she was pulled in for another kiss then pinned down against the leather seat.

"That was terrifying! You looked so...powerful!" he said. There seemed a light in his eyes Olivia could not ignore and the scent of ozone built up in the car. "I was so scared, thinking that you just...exploded and then relieved." She giggled and tried to wiggle out of his heavy coat but he kept her still. "You can't tell people you'll be fine and then do that!" His mind was going a mile a minute, heart still pounding away and body seeming to be on fire. She was warm to the touch and still so very soft. "You looked so...raw! Promise me you'll show me this again?" Olivia was giddy over his reaction. This could have scared him off. She nodded enthusiastically and he kissed her again, overwhelming her.

"Victor," she sang while he kissed her neck. He looked into her eyes like an attentive puppy. "I need to get out of these wet clothes before I get sick." He seemed to be weighing some unknown risk but pulled back. He dipped in for one last kiss then left the backseat to get into the driver's side.

"Sure you don't need my help?" he threw over his shoulder.

"Yes, Victor!" she laughed. It was like a couch in the back of his car. All this room, now that Victor was behaving himself in the front, made it easy for her to strip of her ruined clothes and rummage around in her bag, She would just need undergarments and once those were on she climbed over the backseat to the front passengers where the rest of her clothes were. Her jeans were pulled on first then her shirt. Ready, they headed back to his apartment. It was still early in the day and she wanted to spend the most time with him that she could. After that display she truly felt herself again and optimistic about the rest of the school year.

Victor was practically glued to Olivia when they reached his apartment. It had to be his imagination but he swore he could taste the charge of her energy on her. All she could do to keep him from nibbling on her neck into the night was convince him to eat more of the food he bought. The type of soup Mrs. Hye-ja would make is on the menu though he purports it doesn't compare to hers. Olivia thinks it's a pretty cozy snack after being out in the rain. Their long day together bleeds into the late evening and she is only slightly past curfew returning home. The only one around to chastise her on being more timely was Alfred.

"I'm sorry Alfred, it won't happen again," she said before palming a yawn. Alfred made note that she did not smell of her usual perfumed soap. It was clear to him she would be late like this often. "I need to get back into my schedule before school starts back up. Whenever that's going to be." She felt about the mansion and frowned. If she'd known Bruce and Damian would still be out she might have stayed with Victor longer. "Out together again?" she asked as Alfred offered to take her backpack.

"You know your father likes to deal with matters involving his children head on. Especially if The Court has had a hand in any of it." Olivia looked worried. She knew it wasn't a big fuss getting kicked up over just her but it still felt like it. "They will be fine, Mistress Olivia. And you will be going to bed."

Olivia gave a warm smile. "Of course Alfred."

"Did you enjoy the storm today?" he asked while following her further into the mansion.

"I did! It was nice feeling like that again."

"An awe inspiring display I'm certain Mr. Zsasz won't soon forget."
